Today we're talking about temporary daily ceasefires in Israel, Wednesday's GOP debate,
President Biden's son and brother being subpoenaed, and other top news for Friday, November 10th.

Here's the quote of the day.
Tolerance isn't about not having beliefs.
It's about how your beliefs lead you to treat people who disagree with you.
Tim Keller.
Let's get started with some espresso shots.
Palestinians are rushing south by the tens of thousands, mostly on foot.
After announcing that it's destroyed 130 Hamas tunnels in Gaza,
Israel said yesterday that it'll pause fighting during a four-hour window each day,
allowing for the continued evacuation of northern Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has ruled
out an enduring ceasefire until all Israeli hostages are released. This week, Qatar has been facilitating hostage
negotiations. But questions of logistics and distrust keep stalling the process.
Questions of what'll happen when the fighting's done are also swirling.
Netanyahu says Israel's military will likely maintain security control over Gaza.
But U.S. Secretary of State Blinken said Gaza's post-war
plans should include Palestinian-led governance. Meanwhile, the House voted to censure,
formally rebuke, Representative Rashida Tlaib, Congress's only Palestinian-American,
for calling for the destruction of the state of Israel.
destruction of the state of Israel. War is a heavy burden that impresses upon us our world's need for restoration. Jesus came to bear that burden of sin, lighten our load, and restore
our world. Pray that the Middle East would experience that restoration and glorify the
Messiah Jesus. Matthew 11, 28-30 says,
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Only five candidates were at Wednesday night's Republican presidential debate.
Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie, and Tim Scott, listed in order of recent national polls, were unified in their support for Israel, but divided on Ukraine. They lamented the GOP's
poor showing in Tuesday's elections, disagreed on how the party should handle abortion,
and took a few jabs at Trump. The most talked about moment came when Ramaswamy defended his
use of TikTok by pointing out that Haley's daughter was on the app. Haley told him to
leave my daughter out of your voice,
later calling him scum. The debates appear to be a race for second place. Former President Trump,
who holds a commanding lead in the polls, once again skipped the debate in favor of a rally with supporters just a few miles away. Here's a verse to consider, whether debating on a well-lit stage or in the Instagram comment section.
Knowledge puffs up while love builds up.
Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know.
But whoever loves God is known by God.
1 Corinthians 8, 1-3 On Wednesday, House Republicans subpoenaed Hunter and James Biden, the president's son and brother, as part of their ongoing impeachment inquiry.
The House Oversight Committee, led by Rep. James Comer, says they've gathered evidence of influence peddling in the Bidens' overseas business dealings.
Besides Hunter and James, they're also calling in James' business associate Rob Walker
and soliciting transcribed interviews from other family members to verify findings.
If President Biden was involved, the resulting charge of high crimes and misdemeanors
could mean the GOP may initiate an impeachment.
The related subpoena of the Bidens' finances
uncovered two checks from James to Joe
while Joe was out of elected office.
Comer claims it's laundered China money,
but James Bidens' lawyer says they're personal loan repayments.
The White House has continually dismissed the investigation
as a political stunt.
When challenged by the legal authorities of his day, Jesus didn't hedge.
Whether modern politicians are truthful or dishonest in court, our mission is the same.
Love God and love others.
Luke 10, 25 through 28 says, Jesus answered, you shall love
the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all
your mind and your neighbor as yourself. And he said to him, you have answered correctly. Do this
and you will live. And these stories aren't your average Sunday school fair. Gangsters, drug addicts, and martyrs.
There's a little bit of everything.
Get started with our latest episode featuring Melody Green.
She was raised Jewish, but during the 70s, married a fiery young singer named Keith Green,
who was exploring the teachings of Jesus, a Jewish rabbi who appeared to have found the pathway to God.
Melody embarked on a personal quest to live a life of sold-out devotion to this Messiah,
but when God blessed their efforts, the unthinkable occurred.

In other brews, here's a rapid round of updates.
Chanting on the picket lines can finally become quiet on the set again.
The actors' union, SAG-AFTRA, has ended its four-month-long strike after reaching a tentative agreement with studios on Wednesday. Details haven't been disclosed yet, but are
expected to include increases in minimum pay, protections against actors' likenesses being
used without their consent, AI, and a streaming participation bonus.
Several real estate companies, including the National Association of Realtors, will pay $1.8 billion in damages, which could be tripled, to over 260,000 home sellers in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois, after a jury found they artificially inflated brokerage commissions.
Separately, 30-year mortgage rates had the biggest one-week drop in over a year last week and now average 7.61%.
Democrats are painting the town blue after Tuesday's legislative elections in Virginia,
assuming full control of the General Assembly after two years of divided power.
After Virginia Democrats largely campaigned to protect abortion
access, the loss is a major blow to Republicans, who hope to win both chambers and collaborate
with Governor Youngkin on a 15-week abortion ban. Federal authorities busted what they called a
ring of high-end brothels in Washington, D.C. and Boston,
saying they began in 2020 and allegedly served politicians, military officers,
and pharmaceutical executives. Three people suspected of running the operation have been
arrested. The names of clients have not been released as investigation into their involvement in prostitution is active and ongoing.
An explosion at a Shepherd, Texas, chemical plant Wednesday morning sparked a fire that sent giant plumes of black smoke into the air,
prompting nearby school evacuations and shelter-in-place alerts for residents within a five-mile radius.
Authorities said one employee suffered minor burns
and that ongoing testing has not found chemicals in the air.
And that's all we have for today.
