Starting point is 00:00:28 Canada's Freedom Convoy started as a protest against the vaccine mandate for truckers crossing the U.S. and Canada border, but has evolved into a criticism of all public health mandates and Justin Trudeau's government. It's also persisting. Today is day 10. Organizers say they're peacefully protesting mandates that are destroying the foundation of our businesses, industries, and livelihoods. And they won't leave until all COVID-19 restrictions are gone. They've even brought in portable saunas because, well, it's winter in Ottawa. Critics say it's transitioned from peaceful protest to occupation of Ottawa. GoFundMe has shut down the Freedom Convoy's fundraiser and
Starting point is 00:01:04 will be refunding $9 million in donations, citing evidence from law enforcement that it's funding an unlawful activity. GoFundMe originally planned to redirect the funds to other charities, but reversed course after blowback from supporters. Followers of Christ are not identified by their political affiliation, but by their love for others. And yes, that means loving people that you believe have unloving beliefs and stances. Be gracious and kind, even to those you don't feel deserve it. But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you. Luke 6, 35. Politicians are eating leftovers from 2020 and 2021. First up, redistricting based on the 2020 census results. 36 states have finished redrawing their congressional maps, but others are having
Starting point is 00:01:57 to start from scratch after courts gave their first drafts a grade of needs improvement. Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee voted overwhelmingly to censure, which means publicly slap on the wrist, Representatives Cheney, who is a Republican from Wyoming, and Kissinger, who is a Republican from Illinois, for participating in the January 6th congressional panel, described as a, quote, Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse that had nothing to do with violence at the Capitol. Democrats and a few Republicans condemned this venture. Speaking of 2021, former President Trump and former Vice President Pence's disagreement on the VP's authority over electoral college ballots has lawmakers looking at clarifying the role of the VP once and for all.

Starting point is 00:04:35 The latest jobs report was surprisingly awesome, despite Omicron's surge. The Labor Department announced that the U.S. added 460,000 jobs in January, which was significantly more than the expected 150,000. And the Labor Department adjusted November and December's numbers to show a massive 709,000 more jobs that were added those months than previously estimated. Russia has reportedly gathered 70% of the forces needed for a full-scale Ukrainian invasion and is assembling additional troops. The Queen used her Platinum Jubilee, which is a celebration of 70 years on the throne, to announce that Camilla, Prince Charles' second wife, will be known as Queen Consort when he becomes king. She was expected to be Princess Consort out of sensitivity that the title of Queen has been destined for Charles' first wife, Diana. Ryan Orem, a five-year-old Moroccan boy, died after spending days trapped in a 100-foot well. Condolences flooded in from around the world, including from many world leaders, after following the ultimately unsuccessful four-day rescue operation that was complicated by fears of collapsing the well.
Starting point is 00:05:56 Forget visions. Bruno's gift is clearly popularity. The song We Don't Talk About Bruno from Encanto is Disney's first song to hit number one on Billboard's Hot 100 since Aladdin's A Whole New World.
