But the compromise means neither side is happy, and there's not much margin for error. The House will vote on Wednesday, and if it passes, it will then go to the Senate. Last week, Treasury Secretary Yellen announced that Uncle Sam's piggy bank should last through June 5th, four days longer than previously expected. Be quick to point to God and give him the credit for your hope, strength, and love
Starting point is 00:01:23 during times dominated by uncertainty, strength, and love during times dominated by uncertainty, anger, and fear. Even in the midst of chaos, our eternity is secure. Texas' Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton made a name for himself as both an outspoken conservative voice and the subject of scandal rumors, which have now turned into charges. Saturday, Texas' Republican-controlled House voted on 20 articles of impeachment brought against Paxton, which includes charges of bribery,
Starting point is 00:02:05 obstruction of justice, and abuse of public trust. The House voted 121 to 23 to impeach. He's also facing accusations that he abused his office in favor of political donors and supporters. Paxton has denied the charges, calling them a politically motivated sham. Former President Trump has also spoken in his defense, sending out calls to free Ken Paxton. Under Texas law, Paxton is now suspended from his office to await trial in the Texas Senate, which includes his wife, State Senator Angela Paxton, unless she rescues herself. Christians have a hard job. We must pursue justice and accountability while retaining love for everyone involved,
Starting point is 00:02:47 including the perpetrator, desiring restoration, not revenge.
