Tylenol use in pregnancy is stirring debate. On Monday, President Trump and top federal health officials announced a possible link between autism and the use of Tylenol, acetaminophen, in pregnancy.
Starting point is 00:01:10 They point to a recent Harvard-led meta-analysis of 46 studies with around 100,000 participants that found a, quote, association between prenatal acetaminephine use and neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism. Trump said the FDA will advise doctors to recommend Tylenol only for, quote, extremely high fever, during pregnancy, and will update acetaminophen labeling. Many in the medical community disagree. They note that other studies have found no link between acetaminophen and autism and argue that untreated fevers pose a greater risk to the baby.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Meanwhile, federal officials have fast-tracked a lot of the baby. label change for leukovorin, a decades-old drug typically prescribed to cancer patients, as a treatment for speech-related autistic symptoms. The Supreme Court is letting President Trump continue to use his apprentice catchphrase in the Oval Office. Monday, SCOTUS voted along ideological lines, 6.3, to allow Trump to fire Biden-appointed Federal Trade Commissioner Rebecca Slaughter. The decision temporarily halts a July appellate ruling that Slaughter's firing was, quote, unlawful, due to a 90-year-old precedent that prevents precedents from firing heads of independent agencies. Think the FTC or SEC, without cause.
Starting point is 00:03:30 The Supremes agreed to revisit the 1935 decision Humphreys Executor v. United States later this term. If Humphreys is overturned, department heads may shift with every new presidential administration. Dissenting liberal judges argued the congressionally established independent agencies should be shielded from presidential influence and warned that expanding the president's hiring and firing authority may, quote, extinguished their bipartisanship and independence and reshape the nation's separation of powers. Even the longest precedent in SCOTUS history

Starting point is 00:05:06 the necessity of freeing Hamas held hostages, Palestinian statehood rewarding Hamas, the Khan of climate change, and Europe's need to cut off Russian oil. critics say many of Trump's claims were inaccurate, including his suggestion that London wants to, quote, go to Sharia law, under its Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan. Meanwhile, the Secret Service thwarted a potentially, quote, catastrophic telecommunications attack before the world leaders gathered. The agency announced yesterday it found and seized a network of 100,000 SIM cards, and over 300 servers capable of crashing NYC's cell network

Starting point is 00:07:47 ABC had suspended the late-night show over the hosts, quote, ill-timed comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk's assassination. But after, quote, thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, the Disney-owned company decided to return the show yesterday. However, Sinclair and Nextar, whose ABC affiliates broadcast to about 25% of American households, say they still won't air the show. NVIDIA is pushing its chips in with Open AI. The two AI Titans are teaming up on a giant data center deployment that will require 10 gigawatts of power, enough juice to power around 8 million homes. NVIDIA will invest up to $100 billion in Open AI and will be the chat GPT makers' quote, preferred chip supplier.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Vidia stock popped nearly 4%, adding $170 billion in value overnight. Ryan Ruth was found guilty of trying to assassinate then-president Trump on a Florida golf course. Prosecutors presented evidence that the assassination attempt was premeditated, including a note by Ruth stating, quote, this was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump. The 59-year-old represented himself and tried to stab himself, with a pen after the verdict was read. Democrats are divided over Kamala Harris' new memoir.
Starting point is 00:09:20 The former VP's new book, 107 Days, details her unsuccessful presidential bid after then-President Biden dropped out. Critical Democrats say some deeds, including her decision not to run alongside then-transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg because of his sexual orientation and open criticisms of Biden.
Starting point is 00:09:41 him, quote, pick fights within the party. The public can now scroll through the preliminary TikTok deal. The proposal says China's bite dance will license TikTok's algorithm to a new U.S.-based joint venture. Investors include private equity firm Silver Lake, Tech Giant Oracle, which will oversee the platform stateside security and retrain the algorithm, and possibly billionaires Rupert Murdoch and Michael Dell. bite dance would retain less than 20% ownership.
