Starting point is 00:00:31 Most of the U.S. is stuck inside. It's either too hot or too hazy. While wafted smoke from the still-burning Canadian wildfires isn't as bad as it has been, Minnesota and Wisconsin faced statewide alerts over the weekend. In other fiery news, over 100 million Americans are under excessive heat warnings and advisories. From the Pacific Northwest to the tip of Florida, cities are breaking records and thermometers. Phoenix saw its 19th consecutive day of temps over 110 degrees Fahrenheit, and El Paso is on a 30-day streak of 100-plus degrees. It's hot overseas, too. An airport in Iran recorded a heat index of 152 degrees. Basically, everyone is sweating.

Most congressional Republicans are defending Trump, with Speaker McCarthy saying the government is being weaponized. Democrats argue that Trump's attempts to subvert democracy should carry consequences. In Georgia, the state Supreme Court unanimously rejected Trump's bid to shut down an investigation into whether he unlawfully interfered with Georgia's 2020 election results. Georgia's Fulton County District Attorney has indicated that indictments in the case are possible in the next few weeks.

Being peaceable, gentle, and open to reason in the face of culturally hot topics is a sign of God's wisdom in us. James 3 verse 17 says, But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without pretense. and good fruits, unwavering, without pretense. Ukraine has cut off a key Russian supply line to the battlefront, and Russia has cut off one of the world's biggest suppliers of grain. Kiev claimed responsibility Monday for blowing up the Kerch Bridge, a 12-mile crossing that connects mainland Russia to the annexed Crimean Peninsula, supplying Crimea with military

Later Monday, the UN-brokered Black Sea Grain Initiative expired, and Russia declined to re-up. The deal allowed Ukraine, the breadbasket of Europe, to export grain and food via Black Sea ports. The uncertainty of safe maritime passage left U.S. wheat and corn futures down, and experts wondering whether Russia will redeploy naval blockades against Ukrainian exports. Here's a verse to consider whether your country is at peace or at war. Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5, verse 7. Broadly speaking, there are two approaches to translating the Bible.

The result is over 450 different English translations, and 2 Kings 4.29 reading, Gird up your loins, don't lose a minute, and everything in between. The Christian Standard Bible was translated using optimal equivalence, pursuing both linguistic precision and readability. That means you're reading the same words spoken in 30 AD, except when word-for-word translation breaks the English language.
