It was a big week for British leaders. The Queen capped off her Platinum Jubilee with a surprise public appearance. She skipped events over the weekend due to discomfort. Her grandson, Prince Louis, inspired smiles and memes galore throughout the four-day event commemorating Her Majesty's unprecedented 70 years as a British monarch by being a royally relatable four-year-old. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has also caused a stir, but he's not receiving the same leniency as the little prince. Johnson's illegal soiree during COVID lockdowns prompted an intra-party no-confidence vote

on Monday. The measure, which requires a 50% majority to oust the Prime minister from his position, fell short at 148 to 211. Under current rules, Johnson's safe from a similar vote for the next 12 months. The world has different priorities than God does, and many eternally insignificant things are compelling for a season. These things may not be wrong to follow, but neither should they consume our attention. Psalm 1914 says, May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Apple's 2022 Developer Conference was held on Monday at Apple HQ. Updates from the WWCD, not to be confused with WWJD, include iPhone iOS 16 features like customized lock screens,

editing, and unsending blue bubbles. Take that, autocorrect. And shared photo libraries. Cool new tricks like using your iPhone as an iWebcam with iLaptops. Updated Apple CarPlay capabilities coming to vehicles next year. MacBook makeovers for harder, better, faster, stronger iBrowsing. Perhaps the most shocking twist from the event was learning that even Apple isn't immune from sticking around long enough for old fads to come back in style. Apple's newest charger is vintage. MacBook MagSafe chargers are back. Despite the excitement, most Apple users will still need to wait a few months to take a bite out of the updates. Here's a verse to consider before turning into a googly-eyed emoji at the site of NewTek.

1 John 2 verse 15 says, Do not love the world or things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. It's been 518 days, but the sun hasn't set on January 6th, 2021. This week, five members of the far-right group the Proud Boys, including its former leader Enrique Terrio, were charged with sedious conspiracy related to storming the Capitol on January 6th. The Civil War-era charge will require federal prosecutors to show the men agreed to use

force to overthrow government authority or delay the execution of the U.S. law. It's the same crime that 11 members of the anti-government Oath Keepers group were charged with in January. January 6th is the largest investigation in DOJ history. More than 860 people from 48 states have been charged, mostly with minor crimes like trespassing, and the House Committee investigating the day is set to kick off a series of primetime public hearings tomorrow evening. Contentious topics frequently make people think, speak, and act poorly, including us. We can respect others and represent God better if we are quick to listen and slow to speak. James 1, 19-20 says, Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for human anger does not accomplish God's righteousness.

Musk's lawyers accused Twitter of refusing Mr. Musk's data requests related to the number of spam accounts. Musk waived his right to due diligence with his initial offer, and Twitter says it intends to enforce the merger agreement at the agreed price and terms. The UK is launching one of the largest ever experiments on the four-day workweek. For the next six months, more than 3,300 workers at 70 companies will have their productivity measured as they're paid the same as their five-day-a-week peers. TGI Thursday. Axon halted plans for a taser-equipped drone

after the majority of its ethics board resigned, saying the company was trading on the tragedy of recent mass shootings. The board had previously voted against the idea, but Axon had announced it would begin development anyway after being disappointed by the police response to Uvalde. 100% effective cancer drug? In a small trial of the new cancer drug, Jim Purley, all 12 rectal cancer patients who finish the treatment are in remission and need no further treatment at this time, a result that cancer experts are calling unheard of in the best way possible.
