The Supreme Court is reportedly set to overturn Roe v. Wade. For some context, it's a decades-long saga, but here are a few key points. In 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that women have a constitutional right to abortion in the case of Roe v. Wade. Last year, the court heard the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health over whether Mississippi's 15-week abortion ban was constitutional, and the case is still pending. Monday evening, Politico obtained a draft opinion on the case, signed by a majority of the justices, which affirms Mississippi's ban as legal and overrules Roe v. Wade, calling it egregiously wrong. Yesterday, the Supreme Court verified that the draft was authentic and announced an investigation into who spilled the beans. So what does this mean? Officially nothing,

but unofficially, a lot. This is an unprecedented leak from the typically ironclad Supreme Court, not the official decision, which isn't expected until June or July. If Roe v. Wade is overturned, it would mean the legality of abortion will be determined at a state level. 13 states already have so-called trigger laws that would immediately make abortion illegal, and in time, it's expected roughly half of states would ban or substantially limit abortion and half would allow it. While the justices researched Flex Seal to prevent future leaks, barricades were erected around the Supreme Court in record time in correct anticipation of protests and counter-protests. In general, liberals have condemned the leaked opinion, calling it, quote, an abomination, and Democratic lawmakers have

promised to attempt to enact federal legislation to keep abortion legal nationwide. On the other hand, conservatives have applauded the content but criticized the leak, which some theorize was done to pressure justices into changing their votes. We are called to love everyone always. That means loving and caring for the unborn, single mothers, couples who have received abortions, and people who passionately disagree with you on this topic. First Corinthians 16.14 says, do everything in love. Yes, it's already time for more voting. In yesterday's Indiana and Ohio primaries, both parties are looking for candidates who might tip the scales in a narrowly divided House and

Senate at general election time. The race is especially contentious for the Ohio GOP Senate seat. Former President Trump handed J.D. Vance a coveted power-up, an 11th-hour endorsement, allowing the hillbilly elegy author to pull ahead of former state treasurer Josh Mandel. However, multiple candidates are still hot on his tail. Elsewhere in the Buckeye State, incumbent Governor DeWine is likely to win the nomination, and progressive Nina Turner and incumbent favorite Chantel Brown face a rematch for the Democratic House seat. Voting is an important and powerful way to change things, but as Christians, our hope is never contingent on the outcome of an election or the success of a political party.
