Police say that 39-year-old Daryl Brooks Jr. turned down the

Brooks, who has a lengthy record, was recently released from custody for a separate incident in which he ran over a woman. At his initial court appearance yesterday, Brooks was charged with five counts of homicide. More charges are expected to follow as the sixth fatality, a child, was announced during the proceeding. As details emerge about Brooks, so do stories of people who helped in the moment. Army veteran Jen Zenizek jumping to administer CPR and first aid, local business owner Norman Bruce opening his shop to provide shelter, and other community members coming together to hold a vigil on Monday evening. It's sort of like a don't rock the boat kind of decision,

Powell, a Republican, won broad bipartisan support for taking unprecedented measures to support the economy when the bottom fell out in March 2020. Broad support, but not universal support. Progressive Democrats think he's way too soft on big banks, and that he's neglected to consider how the Fed's policies impact climate change. Assuming that he's confirmed by the Senate, his second term will be all about reining in on inflation. This year's average Thanksgiving feast is the most expensive on record, up 14%

The megastar requested via Twitter that Spotify remove the default shuffle option on her newly released album called 30 so that it could be experienced in the order that she intended. The company replied saying anything for you and Swiftly made the change. Speaking of Swiftly, T Swift broke the record for longest song to hit number one with her 10 minute re-release of All Too Well, a fan favorite from the album Red. The previous record had been set by Don McLean's eight-minute-long American Pie, which held the title for almost 50 years. Two of the 17 missionaries kidnapped on October 16th by the 400 Mawazo gang in Haiti were freed. The reason for the release is unclear, but the gang previously threatened to kill the abductees, which includes five children, unless they received $1 million in ransom per person. The U.S. is urging all Americans to evacuate Haiti. The jury in the racially charged trial of Ahmaud Arbery's death began deliberating
Starting point is 00:04:43 yesterday. The defendants have claimed that they suspected Arbery of robbery and were making a citizen's arrest, then shot him out of self-defense during an altercation. The prosecution says neither the citizen's arrest or the claim of self-defense are legal and that this was simply murder. An arbitrator ruled that Kevin Spacey must pay the producer of House of Cards $31 million for breaking his contract's sexual harassment policy. Spacey was immediately suspended from the show after being accused of sexual assault in 2017, and the show's new season was rewritten to remove his character entirely. It's a battle of Goliath versus Goliath. Amazon announced that it would stop accepting payments by Visa from UK customers
Starting point is 00:05:25 beginning next year and is considering switching its co-branded Prime credit card from Visa to MasterCard. Analysts say that the Visa ban is a negotiating tactic by Amazon to get lower fees. Early this morning, NASA launched the Double Asteroid Redirection Test Mission, or DART for short. Coming from rocket scientists, the idea is pretty simple. Hit an asteroid with a refrigerator-sized satellite going 15,000 miles per hour and see what happens.
