To oppose tyranny and fight for the rights of the native Estonians in the United States Constitution.
We are the Prepper Broadcasting Network.
Hello everyone out there in internet radio land.
This is Dave Jones, the NBC guy, coming to you on Friday, Friday, Friday.
Yes, I had a whole week of back to school-school stuff for teachers, and I got to tell you, I'm pretty
excited about this school year.
A lot of changes, a lot of new stuff, new curriculum, which means I got to start from
scratch all over again, so it'll be my second first year.
So it'll be my second first year.
But the reason I wanted to do this daily audio cache is to let you know about September's
Preparedness Month
Tip of the Day program.
So the Intrepid Commander, we came up,
he did the daily audio cache.
I listen every day, whether, you know, I listen less during the school year,
but he was saying, what can we do for National Preparedness Month?
And I said, how about a tip a day every day for 30 days?
And this is going to be a very short couple minutes tip of the day.
Okay.
So hopefully the Intrepid Commander will come up with some short music clip or intro for the tip of the day.
And oh my gosh, I could just think of so many, so many right now.
Just off the top of my head.
And for new preppers, this may be the first time you hear it.
For old preppers, you may want to say, hmm, did I do that?
Do we have that?
Is that in our bag of tricks?
Do we have that?
Is that in our bag of tricks?
You know,
okay, I'll give you a tip right now.
I'll give you a tip.
No extra charge.
You get a tip right now from the NBC guy.
Everybody needs to have a multi-tool.
A multi-tool. And they need to carry it with them all the time.
And, you know, a lot of times people say,
what kind of multi-tool? Well, there's a couple different
kinds, okay? Many different kinds. I prefer
you know, I carried a Leatherman for years
and years before Gerber came out with one. And then I
carried a Gerber for years and years because it was one
handed operation. And
it was superior to the Leatherman. Now the Leatherman
changed over the years and they got different versions and stuff like that.
I can tell you some of the tools I use a lot.
I remember when the Leatherman first came out, when the first multi-tool came out.
I read an article, and it said, let me tighten your nuts. Which immediately caught my attention.
So once I was in, I was all in.
Up until that point, I carried a buck knife.
Yeah, this is way back.
This is like 1970s back. If you remember the buck knife with the brass
and the wood, yeah, brass
and wood handle. And then I went to the buck knife
that was all synthetic handle.
And I broke the tip on that. Long story on
that, but yeah, the buck knife was the go-to thing.
And then when the multi-tool came out, which, you know, the first one was the Leatherman
with a leather case, which eventually wore out, rubbed, wore out. I'll tell you this,
I'll tell you this.
There are some tools that I use and some tools that I never use.
Okay?
I have never used the saw
on any multi-tool.
So if you have a multi-tool with a saw,
just know, I mean, I know what it's for.
You know, it's for notching
and for cutting small, you know, notches and things.
I understand that.
But I have never used the saw.
A multi-tool with an awl, awl, awl is like a thing that makes holes.
That is always used.
Always used.
There's so many times when you want to just
make a hole in something
and to have that all
you just pull it out, make a hole
you're done.
And of course the
cutters, the
wrench, the needle nose
pliers, I've used that for a bunch of different things.
Scissors, I do find if you have a good multi-tool with scissors,
they do come in handy because scissors,
man, you just can't duplicate scissors.
Okay?
You can have many different things that cut things.
But scissors.
And I've used those.
So if you have one with scissors.
And an awl.
And a can opener.
Yeah of course.
The Phillips screwdriver.
The straight.
Uh oh.
Nope.
That's Alex.
I'm going, I'm gonna ghost him, can opener,
bottle opener, you know, just because they say they do all these things doesn't mean they do all these things well, okay, if you're using a multi-tool
to open up a 3-inch
Phillips screw,
man, it's got to be an emergency.
Get a screwdriver.
Okay?
Hey, that's
just the way it is. Now,
this is longer than a normal tip
because this is a daily audio cache.
But a tip is going to be bing, bing, bing, just like that.
A couple minutes, less than five minutes to include the intro.
Okay, there's going to be very little you have to listen to.
It's going to throw it out there and your brain got to do the rest.
Okay, sometimes it'll be an actual
thing like this multi-tool. Sometimes
it will be a concept.
So that's what
the 30 days of Prepper Tips
in the preparedness month
is going to be about.
Bing, bing, bing.
So if the intrepid commander wanted to string them all together,
okay,
and they were three minutes each,
and there were 30 of them,
that's 90 minutes of vital prepper tips.
And that's only if, because, you know, the intrepid commander
threw down the gauntlet today. He said, I'll have
some and he'll have some. I thought we were going to do 30 together.
But if I got to do 30 by myself, okay.
And if he does 30 by himself, that is 60
60 tips.
Okay?
And the idea is to do one a day.
Commit to do one a day.
If we're going to commit to do one a day, commit to listening to one a day.
Don't wait till the end of the week.
I mean, unless you have to.
And then listen to all the tips.
Commit.
Get your mindset into preparedness.
Yes, get it in there.
Get it ready.
Because you know what?
Oh, man.
We don't got much time.
Not much time.
And I'm not saying that to scare anybody.
I'm not.
This is not fear porn, okay?
People like, oh, oh, the world's coming to an end.
Oh.
No.
No.
No.
Things are going to get crazier.
And, you know, some of the things that happened
during the Obama administration,
I thought to myself,
wow, how can it get any worse?
And it has.
Okay?
Oh, what's that?
Oh.
So, yeah.
Oh, that's my radio going off there.
Okay, PBN family, so that is the concept behind
National Preparedness Month tips.
And there you go.
That's my idea on multi-tools everybody needs to have a multi-tool you don't
want to have to go somewhere look for a pair of pliers or a wire cutter or something like that
you want to have it on your hip I carry a multi-tool every day, all the day, whether I'm here at home in the homestead
or whether I'm away. And it just comes in so handy every day. So eliminate that problem problem by having a nice multi-tool. You know, a good one. Stainless steel.
You know, I got some of those Ozark Trails.
They were on clearance at Walmart. Like
11 bucks. They're pretty darn good.
And, I mean, I wouldn't
go into combat with one. I mean, I wouldn't go into combat with one.
I mean, unless I had to.
But, I gave them away as gifts.
They make a great gift.
If you want to introduce someone into the preparedness realm, and they don't know, you know, they're like dipping their toe in it, and they don't know.
don't know, you know, they're like dipping their toe in it and they don't know, give them a multi-tool as a gift and say, I use this almost on a daily basis and it is so
handy.
There you go.
That's two tips in one.
First, the tip of the multi-tool and the second tip is how to get people into prepping.
There you go.
Man, two tips in one.
Okay, PBN family, that's about all I have.
Stay tuned.
Stay tuned to PBN.
I will be on this weekend.
We got big plans, big plans here at the Jones Homestead.
Butchering some chickens, going to the Renaissance Fair, going to a swimming pool, maybe a movie.
And in between time, harvesting stuff from the garden because everything's coming in right now.
Oh my gosh, we got cucumbers the size of footballs.
And I said to Maria, what are you saving those for?
And she said, well, seeds.
Seeds.
There, third tip.
Third tip. If you have organic heirloom plants, you want to let one or two of your, whatever it is, like cucumbers, get as big as you want.
As big as it can be.
Because you want to cut it open, harvest the seeds for next year.
cut it open, harvest the seeds for next year.
And I mean, there's in one cucumber,
there's like a jillion seeds.
It's a lot.
Cucumbers, squash, and anything, anything, everything, pumpkins.
We have all of that.
And she purposely, what is it, okra?
These okra things must be 8 to 10 inches long.
If you've ever seen okra, you don't let it get that long.
It gets stringy. It's not good to eat.
it get that long. It gets stringy. It's not good to eat.
But you want to let the seeds mature
to be able to dry them out for the next year's planting.
And with the price of seeds going, man,
three tips. Three tips right off the top of my head.
Gosh.
PBN family, where do you get this kind of prepper knowledge on a daily basis?
Nowhere else.
So get a friend involved.
Give them a multi-tool as a gift.
Tell them, I use this on a daily basis. you put this on your hip you will use it
if you throw it in a box
you will never use it
you have to have it on your belt
for it to be effective
and when you need to cut something
wire
you know boxes
tape whatever you'll have it wire, you know, boxes, tape, whatever.
You'll have it.
There you go, PBN.
That's the concept behind 30 Days of Tips.
Take care and prep on. Thank you.
