Starting point is 00:00:00 To oppose tyranny and fight for the rights are created to stowed us in the United States Constitution. We are the Prepper Broadcasting Network. Hello, everyone out there in Internet Radio Land. This is Dave Jones, the NBC guy, coming to you, semi-live, driving to West Virginia, going to get some water, Berkeley Springs. Say hi, Mom. I just put the phone in front of her face and says, say hi. Well, how are you doing on this Columbus Day weekend?
Starting point is 00:00:57 Or some people refer to it. It says, indignant people day. Right? Indignant people? Anyway, I don't have tomorrow off. We have a teacher work day, but it's a short day and just progress reports go out. So I got to go in for a little bit. Kids are off, though. We consolidated our chickens.
Starting point is 00:01:30 yesterday. How many did we butcher? How many? Seven or nine. I think it was nine. Yeah. We had two different flocks. One was Breeze.
Starting point is 00:01:45 And what's the other one? Copper maras. Copper marats. Well, I don't know. Chickens are chickens to me. They go cluck, cluck, and cockadoodle do. Anyway, they're white ones and black ones.
Starting point is 00:02:04 And the black ones have been our main layers, but they've been in the coop that's up above there. And then the white ones started laying this last week, and we thought, well, let's put them all together. We have three different chicken areas. And the last time we butchered, We sewed grass seed In where the other chickens were
Starting point is 00:02:34 So now we put both those flocks into one Where the grass is grown And we're going to reclaim the other ones With some grass seed And that's really all the animals we have It's a bat and golden retrievers Pigeons Oh yeah, we have
Starting point is 00:02:56 the pigeons. I don't think much about the pigeons because they just kind of do their own thing. She just opened a beer. We're driving. That's sparkling water. Sparkling water. What else can we tell them? Well, it's October, National Fire Prevention Month. You should check your smoke detectors. And PBM family, if you do not have a fire prevention month, you should check your smoke. fire extinguisher or two in your house, you should probably get them because, you know, the left's main weapon is fire, and they will fire bomb your house.
Starting point is 00:03:38 So if you don't have a fire extinguisher or a ready way to put that fire out, you could be in trouble. Just saying, they're on sale right now at Costco, so get you some fire extinguishers. Have one on every floor and smoke detectors. There you go. my public service announcement. Only you could prevent house fires.
Starting point is 00:04:05 That was my best Smokey to bear. Oh, Sarah, if you're listening, I am going to be working on your lines probably as soon as we get back home or tomorrow, because the kids are off and I can send you
Starting point is 00:04:20 Deanna's Margaret lines for sure. Oh gosh. Too many too many irons in the fire. What's the next big thing on your list, Mom? That silence is her thinking. Freeze drying. Ah, we're going to freeze dry at large.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Temperatures changing so that room's going to be nice and cold. And what types of things are you freeze drying mostly? Stop asking me. I'm tired, man. I worked like a slave yesterday. Come on now. Yeah. Worked like a slop? Is that what you said? You just cut the head.
Starting point is 00:05:02 I did the rest. That's what I do. I just cut the head. She does the rest. That's not true. But we are really lucky that we have the infrastructure in place. That if we decide to butcher, it takes about what, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, get everything up and running and ready to go. put the water, it takes longer for the water to boil than it does for us to get everything ready.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Stainless steel table, knives, I got to sharpen them knives when we get home. Oh, I caught a bobcat on the trail cam. Don't often see a bobcat up here, but they are up here. And I think I caught two fog. It's just all kinds of stuff But this was up above And back where the chickens were So they were sniffing out our chickens
Starting point is 00:06:03 Just they couldn't get to them I guess I had to pause there Because she wanted to tell me how terrible I am That I don't do anything other than cut the heads off But I do clean the stuff and get the water going And get everything set up while she's doing other stuff. So, ouch!
Starting point is 00:06:25 Do you hear that? That is husband abuse. Why did you do that? Stop. Tell me why. Don't, don't. Oh, my gosh, we're going to crash here. Anyway, PBN family.
Starting point is 00:06:41 I think that's about it. Do you have any tips? Tips, I say. Well, don't keep white chickens. The eagles will attack it. If you keep black, they will think they are crows. They will never attack them. Oh, I did not know that.
Starting point is 00:06:59 So the black chickens have like a camouflage? No, they think they are crows. Proves. You remember yesterday when they attack the eagle, the crows? Yeah. And the eagle attack our white chickens, but never the black ones? We did have an eagle up here, by the way. We don't often see them, but.
Starting point is 00:07:21 And they attack our chickens. Yeah, they were up here. Oh, we killed another nest. Who did that? What another nest? Oh, yes, she's been dead after wasps. She won't let me get dressed up and go do it. But then she holds it against me that I don't do it.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Man, you're just asking for a problem. Okay, PBM family. I've got to sign off here so she can beat me up more. Ow! Take care. You just drive... Prep on. You just want to wake up, don't you?
Starting point is 00:08:03 I do. I want to wake up, yes.
