A person who advocates and practices preparedness.
One ready for any event that would disrupt their daily routine.
That is a prepper.
Hello everyone out there on internet radio land.
This is Dave Jones, the NBC guy.
How you doing on this sunny Saturday?
Oh my gosh, it's supposed to be 15 degrees above normal.
I still have some stuff on my list that I didn't get done from yesterday. I'm recording this live
because I can't do recorded shows.
I don't know. Something changed. I just can't upload
recorded shows. I don't know why. I did two daily audio
caches. Tried to upload them last night or yesterday. Didn't work.
Didn't work. And I realized a couple things that I didn't
talk about because I was so tired after being outside all day
yesterday. You could tell my energy level was up because I
am ready to carpe diem. Seize the day.
That is going to be one of my bonus questions on the midterm.
What does carpe Diem mean?
And I've decided to create five good bonus questions for the midterm exam.
I'm going to create my own sheet of bonus.
It's going to be attached to each exam.
So there you go.
I'm such a nice teacher, I give bonus questions.
Yeah.
But I didn't cover, and this is why you should get it while you can,
concessions.
So did I tell you about, see, I'm confused now
because I don't know if you heard this yesterday or not, but Maria had bought two, like six quart Dutch ovens, two of them.
And every time I look at cast iron, she yells at me, we have enough of that.
I have cast iron I don't even use.
And she bought these two things.
And I'm like, well, okay, so it's always a good idea when it's your idea, right?
And she's, no, no, no, we need these.
She needed them for some sourdough bread baking.
And then she goes and says, we could put these right on top of the coals in the
fire. And I said, I know, but when I
want to buy them, it's no, no, no, we have enough. And you just
go ahead and buy them. So get your concessions while
you can, PBN family. Another concession
I got, and I don't know if I told you this, we're going to start using walkie
talkies. Yeah, the kids constantly just
call us on our cell phone and I said to
Maria the other day, it was a conversation
about SHTF, which we're fast heading into.
I mean, we're in SHTF, make no doubt.
Just look at the price of everything.
They were talking about the price of groceries.
And, you know, the price of gas is down from what it was,
but it's still higher than when Trump was in office.
And I'm not sure we put back the strategic oil reserves that we robbed and sent to China.
Oh my gosh.
So if this ain't SHTF, I don't know what is.
But it's kind of a slow burn instead of a sudden snap.
So you just kind of have to roll with what you get. Well,
I was talking to her about it and I said, you guys don't even know how
to use walkie-talkies. Oh yeah, I know how to use walkie-talkies. Now,
if I gave you a walkie-talkie, you'd have a hard time
turning it on. So, I'm
telling you, there were some final clearance at Costco.
Motorola.
These are the weatherproof Motorola's.
That's my phone getting all kinds of alerts.
And they were $59 a pair.
And they're supposed to be, they have high and low power, which I think is great.
They have a scan feature, which scans all the, it's a family band walkie-talkie.
But it's weatherproof.
And of course it has the weather bands on it.
It's a really nice walkie-talkie,
so I got four of them.
Yeah, I know, I got a bunch of walkie-talkies.
I got, oh, and that's something that if you don't know,
family bands, you don't need a license for.
family bands you don't need a license for.
And what is it?
FMRS radios are on the same frequency.
You just get more power.
You can transmit with more power. You can transmit with up to 50 watts.
And this type of radio, you just fill out a form online and you get your license emailed to you in minutes.
It's $35 thanks to Trump.
And it's a license that is one step below ham.
And you don't have to take any kind of test or anything like that and it
operates more channels than on the family
band and it includes the family band
so the Jones
Homestead communication plan is to use family
band within the perimeter and FMRS radios outside
the perimeter.
Okay.
So you'll be able to pick up and listen with the FMRS and transmit on the family bands.
Okay.
And then when we go outside the perimeter
and you need more wattage,
we have a 50-watt base station
that I'll be able to transmit on.
So there you go.
And we have ham radios that we can listen to
and transmit on, but I don't have a license yet.
So that's my big problem.
I keep studying the test.
I could probably take the test today.
I've studied it since I was in high school.
Back when you had to learn Morse code.
Anybody that knows Morse code knows what that is right there. So, uh, that's my concessions
and man, you need to get them from your spouse whenever you can. And I have the radio sitting
right here and we're going to start using them today cause we're going to be outside a lot today.
because we're going to be outside a lot today.
And that's basically the whole point of this daily audio cache.
You know, prep on, get your concessions, do your thing, make progress every day,
establish a position and improve upon it daily.
Now, next weekend, there's going to be a big to-do at the Jones house. We are going to get us some pork in this house.
Lots of pork.
As a matter of fact, we're taking an entire pig all to ourselves.
And Marie is going to butcher it up.
And James is getting half.
Andrew's getting half.
Larry's getting half. And Ben, the breaker of banksters, is getting half, Andrew's getting half, Larry's getting half
and Ben the breaker of banksters is getting half
so that's a lot of pork but you got to
establish your position and improve upon it daily and we are securing
our protein for
what did I say, a dollar something a pound.
It's under $2 a pound is what it works out to be.
And that's, for those guys,
it's butchered, sliced, smoked, everything.
Everything sealed up and vacuum sealed.
So that's a pretty good deal.
Okay, PBN family, take care, prep on,
and stay tuned to PBN for many, many things coming.
Oh my gosh.
I'm sure you're going to get multiple
episodes of The Pig next weekend.
And then the big, big exercise in January,
which I can't even, it's a winter operation.
Patriot Power Hour guys and the Intrepid Commander
are going to go on a winter trek.
And it's going to be awesome.
So take care, stay tuned, and prep on.
