Starting point is 00:00:12 A person who advocates and practices preparedness. One ready for any event that would disrupt their daily routine. That is a proper. We're an internet radio land. This is Dave Jonesy, NBC guy. How are you doing on this beautiful Saturday? I started my morning getting the rabbit hutches ready. And we're on our way back right now.
Starting point is 00:00:42 We have three. Is it three? Four. Four. we have four rabbits. One's male? Five. Okay, we have five rabbits. So we have four female.
Starting point is 00:00:58 What's the breed? New Zealand. New Zealand rabbits. They're very pretty, very pretty, different from our silver fox. We got, what's, is the white one in New Zealand too? They are all New Zealand, but some are gray, so we only have, One white to the red eyes, the rest is brown and gray. New Zealand's can come in many colors.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Ah. Well, and they're nice and big, and the guy sold them to us already bred. So in about 30 days, we may have up to 30 rabbits. Well, it depends, because they can do 12 per mom. Wow. So we might have 40. and we have just enough room right now to house them overnight and I'm going to finish the cages tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:01:57 I'm going to, it depends upon how much sunlight we have left when I get home. So that's what's going on at the Jones stead. What are you doing at your house? Huh? What are you doing to get ready? I know a bunch of people are in a terrible storm. blizzard conditions, feet of snow up in northern Michigan. Holy cow.
Starting point is 00:02:24 It's a massive storm that's hitting the central United States, north, north central United States. And if you just look at the weather map, gosh, it's massive. And what else are going on? Terror attacks, you know, craziness. So be ready. I don't know if you know about the steak and lobster scandal. It's a scandal because the news media is only showing how stupid they really are.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Because we had steak and lobster when I was in Baghdad. It was a thing. Guys would come in from all over to place for steak and lobster day. And it really wasn't that good a steak and that good a lobster, but it was way different from the normal, you know, spaghetti and meatballs or whatever you were getting that day. So it's not a scandal, but they make it out of the way.
Starting point is 00:03:46 to be a scandal. Like Pete Hexef is eating a million dollars of steak and lobster. I mean, it's just insane. And then they just show their ignorance. This is not
Starting point is 00:04:04 unusual or uncommon or you know, each mess hall dining facility, if that's what you want to call it, has an allocation. And you decide from your menu, you know, from how many people you feed,
Starting point is 00:04:26 what you can get, what you can cook, and how you cook it. I mean, when I was a company commander, we had a mess sergeant that actually taught culinary sciences at the local community college. and he was fantastic. He could make something out of nothing. I mean, one time we're in the field, and he says, how do you like your prime rib? And I'm like, you got prime rib? He says, well, it's roast, but it's all how you cook it.
Starting point is 00:05:05 And sure enough, he's slicing this prime rib right there in the field. And man, was it good? One time I go to go through the chow line, he says, Sir, you're going to have to bring two plates. And I'm like, two plates? He made bread pudding. So the allocation for a soldier is two slices of bread per soldier per meal. Now, no one eats six slices of bread, you know, a day.
Starting point is 00:05:42 So he got the allocation And because he had so much bread And then he put raisins in this I'm like, how did you get raisins? He says, well, it's on the salad bar menu You can You can say you're putting together a salad bar And get raisins
Starting point is 00:05:59 I'm like, wow, this guy was He was amazing Well, I gotta tell you Too long It was quite the morale boost So there you go That's my mess hall thing on the steak and lobster. Like, gosh, they don't know anything.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Anyway, BBM family, I'm getting the high sign. I got to cut this off. Take care and prep on.
