A person who advocates and practices preparedness.
One ready for any event that would disrupt their daily routine.
That is a prepper.
Hello everyone out there in Internet Radio Land.
This is Dave Jones, the NBC guy.
And I had to do a daily audio cache tonight because I am so excited.
I'm so excited and I just can't hide it.
I'm about to lose control when I think I like it. I'm so excited and I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control when I think I like
it. Remember the Pointer Sisters?
Yeah, it was the Pointer Sisters, right? Anyway,
you're going to hear a lot from me this weekend.
And we are doing, oh man,
the first ever winter exercise.
And we're doing it as a competition between three preppers.
And Ben, the breaker of banksters, probably the youngest of the three preppers competing. The Intrepid Commander with hours and hours of experience in the field. Fishing,
hunting, hiking, backpacking, and just
plain camping out. And then there's Future
Dan, former Army Airborne Ranger.
And they are going to go out in the cold, in the snow.
And I'm also excited for the forecast because, let's see,
Friday night, it's 100% chance of heavy snow, two to four inches.
And the exercise goes Saturday.
It starts Saturday at 6 p.m.
But before that, there's going to be a whole bunch of preparation and competition. Okay, so this is to simulate trying to get out of an urban area
and get to a prepper commune.
And then, let's see,
Saturday the high temperature is going to be 36
and Saturday night, 22 degrees.
So they're going to spend the night out
in 22 degree weather
with only the things I pack in boxes
about the size of shoe boxes.
Okay?
Each one of them is going to walk a route,
and it's about 8 kilometers, this route,
in urban terrain.
They're going to stop at three locations,
pick up three caches.
Each one is going to pick up three caches.
And in those caches,
and they're also going to forage on their own,
like if they come across a dumpster
and, you know,
a construction site with a dumpster or whatever,
they can dumpster dive.
They can pull out trash.
It's going to be just fascinating to hear everything that goes on.
And then I'm going to place the boxes.
I'm going to be at the baseline.
The baseline is they're all going to have regular clothes on.
Good boots, good socks.
A multi-tool.
Okay?
And that's it.
No coat, no hat, no gloves.
No gloves.
They each get $25 to go into a thrift store and outfit themselves with whatever they think they can need
and wear and use.
And it's not just limited to clothes,
but boy, I'd be getting a coat for sure.
I would be getting a coat.
be getting a coat for sure. I would be getting a coat.
There's going to be pictures up on the website, so stay tuned.
This is going to be the weekend exercise called Gotham
Get Out. They have promised me tonight
that they will not listen to any of my broadcasts.
Because Maria and I are going to finish packing up the boxes.
And we're going to talk about the things that we're putting in the box.
And why we're putting them in the box.
Now, they're going to be able to start a fire.
They're going to be able to boil water.
They're going to have some protection,
shelter, protection. And they're going to have some way to purify water.
The basic survival type skills
and let's see if You know, the basic survival type skills.
And let's see if they pick up on some things because some will be obvious.
Some will not be so obvious.
And then they get evaluated.
If they took, first, if they took the item,
if they saw the value in the item and they took it.
Secondly, if they fashioned it into the thing
that they needed to fashion into.
And thirdly, if they actually used it.
So it's like a three-point-per-item scale.
Whoever gets the most points wins that round.
And trust me that's
that's round one
that is round one
oh my gosh
I think we're going to have three rounds
I think
I think we're going to have three rounds
maybe we'll do the thrift store
as one round
we'll do the thrift store as one round. We'll do the bug out as the second round.
And then they're going to have a team exercise at the Jones Homestead.
And they're going to be evaluated on that, on their teamwork, participation, all that.
So there you go, PBN family.
You're in for a wild, wild weekend
of prepper entertainment.
Stay tuned.
This is the kickoff.
And you'll hear all about it all weekend long.
Take care and prep on.
