A person who advocates and practices preparedness, one ready for any event that will disrupt their daily routine.
That is a proper.
Hello, everyone out there in Internet Radio Land.
This is Dave Jones, the NBC guy.
Oh, my gosh, this is Friday, Friday.
This is my last day of back-to-school teacher work.
And, boy, I put the call out there.
Anybody that wants to hear 30 tips and 30 days, you've got to send an email.
And you're listening.
It worked.
I got emails, the Intrepid Commander got emails, so I am going to do 30 tips in 30 days for national preparedness month.
Now, some of the tips may be a rerun from last year's, but I'm going to try and give you all fresh new tips, okay?
and one of the listeners said 30 dirty jokes in 30 days now they must have seen me at prepper camp
because sometimes I tell jokes at prepper camp before I give my little talk so it's just a thing
I could do I could easily do 30 jokes in 30 days because well it's it's what we did in the
Army, you know, to break the tension, we would tell a joke. I would teach NBC, you know,
nuclear biological chemical warfare. It was very complicated, had a lot of parts to it. And a lot of
times there, you know, guys that weren't getting it, I would try and, you know, lighten the mood a
little. So I have a repertoire of jokes, a file folder, file folders.
in my brain of different kinds of jokes.
And one time, this was a long, long time ago when I was in Alaska.
My cousin and his girlfriend came to see me.
She was going to college.
He was in the Navy.
And I started telling the jokes.
And she says, oh, my gosh, I got to record these and take them back to the girls in the dorm.
and she I was able to fill up a 60 minute tape 30 minutes on both sides a cassette tape as I would think of a joke she would run and get the recorder and I would tell them the joke as if she was recording it so but I will be doing the 30 tips and 30 days because you even
emailed me. You're listening. Thank you. Thank you. You have validated my existence with just an email. How about that?
And maybe just to expand upon what the intrepid commander said about those chicken feeders.
Yeah, we do the same thing here at the Jones homestead, but we use a, it's called a brute. It's a rubber made trash can.
waterproof
and
when you put the feed in there
you could fit a whole bag of feed
in one can
now we have lots
of chickens we've had lots
of chickens have lots of chickens
so that's why we use a
bigger container but those
feeders are pretty awesome
we've even seen the
pigeons
go in there and eat
so now we stopped getting separate
pigeon feed because why they eat the chicken feed just fine out of those feeders so what do you have planned
for this labor day labor day or as we called it the jones stead neighbor day i don't know if i i know i've
told this story but when maria first got here to the united states i told her hey i got monday
there's a holiday. And she says, well, what holiday is it? And I said, it's Labor Day. And she thought
I said, neighbor day. And she was like, wow, what a great country the United States is. They celebrate their
neighbors. So from then on, we take fresh baked bread around their, you know, on Neighbor Day. We give
everybody a loaf of bread or whatever, whatever Marie is putting together.
So, neighbor day.
And then the kids go back to school on Tuesday.
And I go back to school on Tuesday teaching, oh my gosh, they got me teaching Taekwondo this year.
Yeah, that's going to be interesting.
It's going to be interesting.
We'll see how that goes.
and ag class you know it's pretty easy for a prepper to teach agriculture we live it we do it every day
so this summer i i did go around and videotape what we had growing what we had you know raising up the
the animals we had and i did this before we started butchering so they have a good idea
what goes on at
Jones Stead
and I'm going to show
them
I'm going to show
them that video
and then I'm going to show them
how
factories
process chickens
and
how the beef goes
through a factory
and just all of that
so I can say
you can raise your own animals
or
you can have these
and there is a stark
difference
well maybe I'll get in trouble for showing that
I don't know
we'll see
I also want to show
Flight 93 the movie
Flight 93
I always recognize
9-11
and
veer away from the curriculum long
enough to tell them
you know about 9-11 and in the past I've shown them the National Geographic a few years back
did an excellent documentary where for five days straight they told a different story about 9-11
and it was it was fantastic so I usually showed those episodes but now they've seen these
so I needed something new so I'm going to show the movie
movie Flight 93.
So Phoebe and family, stay tuned for the tips.
And thank you, thank you, thank you for the emails.
Take care and prep on.
