We are the Prepper Broadcasting Network.
Hello everyone out there on internet radio land.
This is Dave Jones, the NBC guy.
How are you doing on this windy, sunny Saturday?
The wind is whipping.
They're saying gusts up to 50 miles an hour so we may lose power.
You know how it is on the mountain. Well, maybe you don't, but I do. Hey, I don't know why this popped in my head this morning, but I thought I'd share. So here's where the NBC guy is.
Three weapons you absolutely need.
Okay, these are the top three weapons.
If you're just starting out and you're looking at guns, self-protection,
these are the weapons you should look at.
Okay?
Never underestimate a.22.
If it's a pistol or a rifle, a.22 needs to be in your arsenal.
your arsenal.
You could forage through 100 houses and you will find 22 ammunition.
Okay?
It's cheap.
It's easy.
It's inexpensive.
It's inexpensive to fire.
It's inexpensive to practice with. It's inexpensive to fire. It's inexpensive to practice with.
It's effective.
It is actually the most accurate round there is.
So a.22, you need to have that in your arsenal somewhere, somehow.
And next, a shotgun. And I recommend a 12 gauge because that's what the military uses.
And if you want the most common round, 12 gauge is it. Shotgun is super versatile,
easy for anyone to fire and be effective, you know, within 100 feet.
And when you consider your house is only 40 feet long, super great for self-defense,
personal defense, and like I said, versatile.
You can get slugs that you can actually hunt with.
You know, you can hunt with a with a 22 small game for sure but it you know if you're really really good you can even hunt a deer with a
22 so those are the first two and then some kind of an ar and it doesn't matter if it's 223 or 7.62
okay that is personal preference on the caliber of round but an ar platform because of the
plentifulness of parts uh it's it's what the military uses. Interchangeable.
Highly accurate. It is
has been the military standard for as long as I've
been in the military. So that goes back to
the 70s. And we
still had other weapons in the armory,
but that was the M16,
and the M16A2 is what we had in 1975.
So that's how far back it goes.
There's been modifications,
but for the most part,
goes. There's been modifications, but for the most part, it is the second largest assault weapon produced in the world, second only to the AK. So, you know, take that for what it's worth.
And those are the three weapons I highly recommend.
Everybody have one.
Now, if you want to go into small arms, 9mm because it's the most plentiful round on the planet.
There's more 9mm than any other cartridge on the planet.
So, if you want a sidearm, a 9mm would be your best bet there. I don't know
why I'm thinking this but
I just thought I'd share this little bit of thought process with you
In my
history class we're talking about the World War II
and if we could actually win World War II today,
and most of the classes I have surveyed say no.
And they say no for different reasons,
but I do have to agree.
We don't have the industrial capacity
that we had at the end of the Great Depression.
We don't have that generation of
people that grew up during the Great Depression.
There's just any number of reasons why I think
we could not win World War II today. You know, when you
consider that less than half a percent,
less than a percent of our population
is in the military today,
wow, wow.
When in World War II, it was 10% of the population.
We fielded 100 divisions. And I don't
think we could do that today.
So, that's what I'm thinking about.
That's where I'm at. I don't know what the world situation is.
I haven't been paying too much attention to any of the news.
So, I can't give you a rant.
I can just tell you what I woke up with thinking about today.
And that's what I was thinking about and the reasons why I was thinking about it.
So I'm getting out there to build some more quail pens.
We have chickens and turkey in the other quail pens.
And our quail just hatched out in the past couple days.
So I'm going to make this box that I had.
I had tools in it.
And I'm going to make it a quail box.
I've got to cut some ventilation in, put some shelves in.
Still haven't quite figured out how I'm going to do it.
I do have wire and I do have wood.
I do have screws.
Never overlook having screws and nails and things like that.
You're talking about infrastructure,
prepper infrastructure,
you need fastening means.
And I have tubs of nails, different lengths.
When they go on clearance at Home Depot,
even if it's just a dollar or two off,
I will buy like a three-pound box of them.
You've got to have those on hand.
How important were they with the pioneers?
There was a law passed in Virginia
not to burn your house down.
And you say, why?
Why would you burn your own house down?
Well, they would burn their house down
to get the nails and metal fixtures
out of the rubble of the ashes of their house
before they moved further west.
And so that's how important it was back in the day
and I would be hard pressed to make myself
I could make a nail
but man I'd have a hard time making a screw
although I do have a few tap and die sets
so I think if I made a nail
I could probably make a screw
probably have never tried that I think if I made a nail, I could probably make a screw. Probably.
I've never tried that.
There you go, Intrepid Commander.
Challenge to you.
And you're forging.
Forging next time you pound an iron.
Make yourself a screw.
I threw that challenge out to the intrepid commander.
I want to see a video on how you make a screw.
Okay, PBN family, that's it.
Take care and prep on. Thank you.
