A person who advocates and practices preparedness.
One ready for any event that would disrupt their daily routine.
That is a proper.
Hello everyone out there on internet radio
and this is Dave Jones the NBC guy coming to you on Saturday.
Saturday, Saturday, S-A-T-U-R-D-A what?
Yeah.
Anyway, it's a beautiful Saturday, gonna be about 80
degrees, the wind is blowing, humidity is down from yesterday, so I am confident
that we will go outside and do more work than our body can stand. I just don't know
when or what I'm doing. Now yesterday, yesterday I could not participate in the recap of Ration or Ruin
because our school had graduation. Yes. And we went back, you know, all the teachers attended and I
had my suit on and with my medals and I think next year for Deanna's graduation I'm
gonna have to bust out the uniform see if it still fits it's been 20 years so
I'm not too sure but the pants I'm wearing right now were the BDU pants
that I wore in the army so I'm pretty sure it's gonna fit. If the moths haven't gotten to it
it's been in kind of storage but that's the reason I wasn't on last night. The
back channel is just I always ask questions because I'm part of the back
channel communication and there's things that come up during the week when
they're
preparing their food and stuff that I know to ask questions about.
But gosh, Dern, you have got to follow these guys on Ration or Ruin.
This is a master class on survival food rationing.
It's amazing and you won't get this anywhere else
You will not get anything close to this any one of the exercises that these guys did
There is no prepper out there
doing this
Stuff I mean yeah, they'll get out there and put do a product review or it tastes good or it tastes
bad blah blah blah.
But this, they're living it for a month.
And I'm learning things, okay?
You got to understand I come from a background of here's your sea ration.
That's how far back I go and in the
military they like to pass you something and you go to your position and they
know you're taken care of and that's it but that's not the way this food is and
I was under the myopic viewpoint that all food is like military food and it's not.
There's stuff you gotta do and preparation you gotta do
and it's just not easy, not hard.
And then I think to myself, if I'm gonna send someone out
or if there is a movement,
I always think movement is the hardest thing.
Because you're doing something that's away from everything that you have.
So if there's any kind of movement, how are you going to feed these guys?
And this is a real lesson.
So, you just can't give them a ration and say, you know, go for 24 hours, see you tomorrow.
And expect everything to be hunky-dory.
If they don't have water and if they don't have a way to heat it and this you know, it's just
you can't go there with a
Freeze dried packet and a life straw. Let's put it that way. Good luck
So and
Also, you know the calories and the effects.
Now, I got to tell you this, PBN family.
So when I'm at school, I have my phone off and away.
I come out almost daily and see 30, 40.
One day there was over 50 messages
in the back channel of ration and ruin. I'm like, holy cow when you starve someone they like to talk
There is a lot of messages
And then I have to read them all and get all caught up and figure out what they're trying to say there
it's funny. It is funny.
And weight loss, that's interesting. We can all stand to lose a little weight. You know,
I'm with Ben in the idea of you want to go into SHTF around 20% body fat that is the upper limit of what
the army accepts I think the army is 22 the upper limit I'm not sure don't hold
me to that but when you get into SHTF the sheer stress alone will cause weight loss. Okay so these guys are
somewhat manufacturing stress and they're experiencing weight loss from
calorie deprivation and performing whatever their normal daily functions
are. The Andrepid Commander worked out on a heavy bag yesterday
in the hot heatness of,
it felt like mid summer yesterday here.
It was, wow, it was pretty brutal.
He admitted to getting a little lightheaded.
Yeah, I can imagine. So, PBN family, I'm telling you, if you're
not taking advantage of their suffering, you're missing out. It's just, it's
amazing. And like I said, I'm not even a part of it and I'm learning from there
what they're doing. So listen to Ration and Ruin. As a matter of fact, go back and listen to every one of the exercises.
And if the Intrepid Commander could put them together in a standalone show or download or podcast or something like that, that would be amazing. So so someone could just download the entire all of them
Yep PBN family
Gosh we got a week
Well, actually we have a week of regular school then we have finals week and
We have one day of school beautification.
So really we have like one week left next week.
And then finals week, if you get a 93 average or above, you do not have to take the final.
So we have a few of those.
So, but the middle school, sixth, seventh, and eighth, they take the final no matter what their average is.
That only applies to ninth through twelfth.
And twelfth's done. They graduated last night so they are done.
It was great. really nice ceremony, great keynote speaker.
And it was beautiful, it was beautiful.
And I thought about next year when Deanna graduates and how I'm gonna be just a mess.
Just a mess.
Because I remember her first steps.
I remember her birth where, gosh, I was a mess there.
I was all balled up and mooch was coming out of my mask
and Marie is laying on the table there strapped down
and she says, looks up at me and says,
stop crying bitch.
That's funny.
Yeah, I never felt so big and insignificant all at the same time.
I felt like a speck in the mass universe that what is.
It was, it was, it's undescribable, undescribable. And then everybody in the operating room
who sees every baby that, you know,
they said, wow, what a big baby.
Every one of them said that.
What a big baby, what a big baby.
She was a big baby.
So, her foot almost did not fit on the,
where they print your foot they had to
turn it sideways to get it to fit okay PBF family I've droned on enough take
care and remember just cuz Trump's in office doesn't mean you stop prepping. Do not get the Trump effect and sit back, relax.
That's all good.
It's not all good.
Oh, today is the day
the Romanians hold their second round of
elections.
You know, they they hold the first round
to narrow it down to the, to the top two.
And then the second round of elections is to see who's going to be the president
or prime minister or whatever.
And there's one guy in there that's, um, I don't know, he's autistic like Joe
Biden, I guess, and then there's another guy.
They would not let the other guy run.
Uh, that one, the last time they, they put charges on him.
I think the guy actually fled the country.
Uh, he was, he was overwhelmingly going to win and that's why they
suspended the elections. They didn't want that guy in.
Uh, then he was Trump like.
Now there's another guy in there who says he's, he's Trump like too.
He wants to get the war in Ukraine over.
He doesn't want, you know, what the rest of Europe seems to be wanting war with Russia so I
don't know we'll see what happens and I will report back to you if they
invalidate this election we'll see take care prep on on.
