the We are not live on X Dave. I don't know what happened with that. I heard X was down earlier today though So that could be the deal but
Who knows Dave Jones the NBC guys here? It doesn't matter
For those who don't know I mean pity pity them I do but for those who don't know Dave Jones the NBC guy
Why don't you give them the rundown on?
Who the man behind the mask is?
Give the abbreviated version.
Who you have to, or else we got to do a whole show.
Yeah.
So, uh, 24 years active duty army, nuclear biological chemical warfare.
I was in during, uh, the cold war.
And I used to say, I fought the Cold War and we won, damn it.
Thanks to you, man.
Yeah.
And then, so after I retired, 9-11 happened and six months after that, I found myself
back in the Army.
So they sent me straight to the Middle East where I traveled to 22, and no, 16 different countries in 22 months.
Some of them more than once.
I think I was in Egypt three times.
Jordan twice for sure.
That's where I met Maria.
And then I retired again.
Emergency management my whole life. I was in the Pennsylvania Emergency Management
Operations Center as a watch officer when 9-11 happened and at my console came the call from
Somerset County Dispatch and the dispatch lady says, hey I got some guy on a cell phone says these planes being hijacked.
What do we tell him?
And before we could formulate an answer that that was my eighth day on the job.
So that was my introduction.
Yep.
We went into full activation for three weeks straight. We went right from that to anthrax,
if you remember those anthrax scares and attacks. So I did emergency management pretty well. I
went up through Pennsylvania Emergency Management. I was the guy that was certifying the county
certifying the County, uh, emergency management, uh,
guys. And then I went to a place called NASA.
You may have heard of them. Uh,
and then I went to, yeah, pre musk.
They were still doing the shuttle was just being phased out.
This was like
Right when Barack Obama was first sweared swore in okay. Yeah, so then
Then I went to a crazy time to be in there. Oh, yeah. He was the guy who shut the shuttle down, right?
Yep, didn't he kill the shuttle? Yeah. He killed it and then NASA was finished after that,
right? Well, they were dependent on the Russians to still bury things. Yeah, it was crazy. It was
crazy. So then I went to Air Force Global Strike Command, the Nuclear Weapons Command for the Air Force.
And I was one of the only civilians on a nuclear weapons accident response team.
So if they had an accident and one of those things broke open, they call us out.
We do our thing, pick it back up, put it together and send it off.
You know, But luckily nothing like
that happened. But we were, I was trained to do all that. And then I went to the Department
of Homeland Security, worked at a top secret government facility for I guess the last seven years before I retired, something like that.
And I retired about six years ago.
Three or four years, I was steady prepping, you know, building my prepper infrastructure.
And now I teach history at my son's school. I teach history because I lived most of it.
There you go. But the Jones Homestead is no joke.
It is no joke.
That thing's going full-time.
Yes.
On top of your full-time job. So that's always impressed me.
That's always impressed me. Yeah.
Well, and that's mostly Maria, because she's Romanian,
strong like a bull.
We love her, man.
We love Maria.
For sure.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
For all that that you just mentioned,
that is the hyper abbreviated version. There's nothing more to talk about. that Yeah, you put a little hair out there. What do they call it? The silver fox? Yeah, i'm trying to come over that bald spot
Uh, it's friction friction there you go
Yeah
So I thought uh tonight
We would talk a little bit about
What's going on overseas in general?
Yeah, you know sort of like right out your front door and overseas is kind of the concept tonight, right?
The Jones homes said what you guys got going on is always fun. So I'm sure we'll wind up in that
But also, you know
Europe like I haven't really heard your take on
You know a lot like I haven't got your take on sort of Trump backing out of Ukraine,
and Europe stepping up and saying, we're gonna be tough guys all of a sudden. And then, you
know, what's happening in Ukraine with Russia? Russia's the deal. And now we have, I guess,
Zelensky is ready for a truce, seems like Especially after that massive ass whooping they took over the weekend
Yeah, and I don't know, you know, it's a it see
so this is what everybody needs to know about you and me is
when right and this might make me seem like an idiot, but when
Because when I look back on it, I'm like, yeah, that does seem kind of dumb
But when Russia had tanks lined up on the border and men and everything like
that Dave Jones was saying oh they're gonna go in and me I was thinking maybe
I know better than the guy who was in the army for 25 years and I thought it
was all a bluff and then and then they started rolling. But the trigger for me, it was the I think it was they increased their numbers by 10,000.
And then and then they moved their blood supply forward.
Oh, and I'm like, I'm like, whoa, whoa, wait a minute.
You know, blood's only good for like 30 days anyways and they would
not move that forward unless they planned hey we're gonna have casualties
and that's you know do that kind of stuff for a show yeah yeah that you were
dead on that was a that was a great one and then we you know and here we are that seems like a lifetime ago that seems like a
lifetime ago all them gosh so well go ahead oh well you know you think back on that and uh
yeah what what you were doing back then to prep and i i've come full circle now i'm
to prep and I've come full circle now. I'm prepping more now because of the instability, okay?
Because I did a daily audio cache this weekend.
Yeah, I heard it.
Gold and cash and all that.
You had me nervous.
Well, maybe that's why you asked me to come on the show.
Wait, we got to hear from Dave.
What's he doing?
No, you had me nervous about the sort of opsec end of things
when you were talking about the wallet and all that kind of stuff
I was getting like.
Well, that's just the thing.
Like I said, you used to do that and call it mad money to get a cab. Yeah. And it was 20 bucks.
Yeah. Well, there was nowhere else you could keep your money but in your wallet. I mean,
you keep it at home, but you know, if you needed it, you had to have it in the wallet.
Well, I have a I have a money clip. That's if anybody if anybody robs me, I pull the money out
of the front pocket. Okay, that's a good move. I throw it on the
ground and when they reach down to pick it up, I draw my nine.
Sold off shotgun. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's the way to go. No, that, I mean, hey, in all
seriousness anymore, you never know, you know, you just just know anymore but yeah I mean what do you what are your feelings about I guess probably the thing that I
I feel the least comfortable with and what's going on over there is kind of
like Russia like you're suffering some pretty severe casualties but they don't
seem like they're prepared to give up at all and this is an enemy that you kind
of know pretty
well because you came up with sort of the Russia on your on your back you know
in the time that you were in there doing your thing I mean is that standard fare
for them I know that they're they're like an attrition warfare kind of country
anyway well and you you look back they started their draft two years ago.
Yeah.
If you remember when the war kicked off and then they said, no one under 18 or no one
over 18, 18 to 40 can leave the country and they were stopping flights and all this stuff.
So now that's been in the works now and they've worked that out.
So now their stream of guys are actually rotating to the front and to other military bases. So they
have their you know, if you want people to get experience in combat, you send them to combat.
get experience in combat, you send them to combat. So they have their rotation that's going. And it's just a steady
thing. You know, it's like we were in Afghanistan. If you were
in the army back then, and you didn't have a combat patch, you
weren't shit.
Ah, I got you. You were were not there you did not do that.
Okay yeah you were a different thing yeah and your rank probably managed less
than that patch yeah right because it was yeah okay I got a guy had a patch
from a unit that you knew you know took casualties and he got a E I B and all this other stuff on there.
You're like, Ooh, listen to what this guy says. He's been there. Yeah. That was always weird to me.
Yeah. But anyway, yeah, don't let me go down that rabbit hole. So now, yeah, so that's where Russia is. They have a steady stream of young men and Ukraine.
They've got the infantry.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Ukraine, not so much.
And they're scraping, they're conscripting,
and all that kind of stuff in Ukraine.
It looks from what I've seen anyway.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
I never felt like Ukraine was in a position
that was good the whole time. I never felt like Ukraine was in a position that was good the whole time.
I never felt that there was a winning moment. I never felt they've been losing land since the beginning.
You know, even that little push into Kursk seemed like those guys are and they got caught today, I think.
I think the Kursk guys got surrounded today and man, I would hate to be those dudes.
Yeah.
Talk about people you don't want to be in a position you don't want to be in.
Whenever, whenever there's a peace talks, eminent or a ceasefire, there's
always a last minute push.
So this is a Putin's and Russia's last minute push so this is Putin's and Russia's last minute push so they have
something more on the bargaining table they'll have prisoners to exchange
though I got you more land than they want and they'll put that into the
negotiation so this is really so they'll hang on to those cursed guys
Yeah, beat him up, you know
And then they'll say we'll give them back, you know as part of this deal
Right and they can look like oh
The great guys they gave him back. Yeah, we could have tortured him to death, but we gave him back
Yeah, so they're gonna take that that Donnettek region and all that kind of stuff and call it a buffer zone or whatever. You think that seems like what they want to do?
Absolutely. Just like we have the DMZ in Korea.
Yeah.
They're going to have the DMZ in Ukraine.
Yeah.
So, you know, when Zelensky did that thing in the Oval Office, it was a Friday and I
saw it after I got back from school and I'm like, wow, this, I've never seen anything
like this.
I know, it was so cool.
It was so cool.
In the Oval Office.
And so I go back to school on Monday and I start showing the kids and I said, this is what's
going on right now.
And then we had a little bit of a debate to where, okay, this is where you're going to
write.
I feel the United States, no, I think I said, I believe, I believe the United States, no, I think I said I believe, I believe the United States should
and then either not or should continue to support Ukraine. And then I made them write
five sentences that supports that sentence. Okay, their statement. And they were writing
and asking questions and, you know,
I don't think a sixth grader should do this. I said, it's your opinion, you know. So it got them
thinking. And then I divided them up. I said, how many people think should? And those people raised
their hand. I said, okay, on this side of the classroom, how many people think shouldn't this side of the classroom? And then we read one sentence at a time from each from
different people. Oh, that's cool, man. Yeah, it was a, it was a real, really good thought experiment.
And then I said, now that we've done this, I'm going to give you a five extra credit points, one point for each sentence that you wrote to add to any quiz that you
have. Wow. Yeah.
Oh, that's huge.
Yeah. So that, yeah, that, I mean, that was monumental.
It was so foreign to me to see that.
Oh, I never seen anything like that.
And then the deal was off and they threw him out.
Yeah.
They gave the dinner to the press corps or the luncheon.
They said the lunch is already made table set.
Come on in and eat.
You know, it was like, wow.
Wow.
It was beautiful.
That's all I have to say about it. I was sitting there and I couldn't believe it and I felt so proud
watching it. You know, I was like, I can't remember the last time a president stood up in a in an
uncomfortable situation
that could just make him look so bad, but he just stood up for us. You know what I mean? Yeah, it was wild
It was nothing like it now that I've watched it like six times because I did each grade
Yeah, all right. I I really you can see where he
Zelinsky is
Antagonizing trauma.
Oh, yeah.
He just sitting there.
And it's not until, and watch the body language of Zelinsky
when he's leaning forward trying to make his point to J.D. Vance
about diplomacy.
And then all of a sudden, he leans back and crosses
his arms like this.
And I'm like, and I pointed out to the class, now look, nothing else
that's being said is going to matter.
He's completely closed off.
Right.
Yeah.
And yeah, it was really something.
It really was amazing.
I really loved it when, when Trump told him because he was telling him but he was telling us
don't tell us what we're gonna feel yeah when he said you're you'll feel it don't
worry you know you have a great big ocean but you're going to feel it and
then Trump said don't tell us what we're going to feel you don't know what we're
going to feel and I just felt like he that was something that he did so that
the people watching would go like, you
know, this isn't this isn't Russia's decision.
They're not going to decide to attack the United States of America or whatever, you
know, Zelensky was getting it when he said you're going to feel it.
Yeah, it was a beautiful thing.
It was.
And then he'd like a day later, he buckled.
Yeah, it was on.
Actually, I think it was two days later because something like that.
First, he, he, he wouldn't apologize.
And then, uh, before Trump's speech to the joint session of Congress, he sent a
letter and he said, he didn't really apologize. He just said I regret what happens
Yeah, no office. Of course. Everybody regrets it, you know, I don't regret it. I thought it was awesome
Yeah, I thought it was awesome yeah that leading into that it really this is the thing with these world
particularly with this war so we can stay on with this war is it just seems like Trump is taking because by taking the intelligence away taking the funding away you're forcing him into a truce.
real, you have no real option anymore. You can't go blindly with no weapons and fight, you know, the third biggest
military on the planet, I guess, right?
When people, uh, think about the support, they always think about bullets and
ammo and all that kind of stuff.
But you know, the, the intelligence, the satellite, the satellite, just everything, the signal intelligence.
We tell them, hey, this is the target.
You need to send this missile to that target.
And they have none of that.
They have no capabilities.
If we cut them off, they wouldn't have any of the victories. I think that was a direct result of what happened over the weekend, too
I think it with the intelligence we would have said they're making moves. They got drones
They got all this stuff lined up at this location. They're getting ready to attack so get prepared
But without the intelligence, I think Russia could do that big bombing and drone spree because how would they know you know what I mean how would they
have they wouldn't have the intelligence to do it so yeah I mean I guess Ukraine
will still exist they'll have to rebuild you know to some degree Russia will get
their their would you call it the what zone our zone the DMZ the DMZ that's it
yeah yeah demilitarized zone yeah and then and then from then on I guess it's
gonna be up to well the other big thing in all of it is what is Europe gonna do
is Europe gonna step in and ruin everything that's what scares me yeah
you know what I mean well I don't think they're going to step in and ruin everything, you know Trump's
Signal that he's going to cut off things makes them put more up
You know, uh since the 80s, I mean
The german army in the 80s was top-notch. They were number one.
We trained with them a lot.
And they had that Leopold tank, which was,
well, we didn't even have the M1 at that time.
So they were just the Army in Europe.
But since then, they just haven't been,
I mean, their Army is a joke now.
They're like reserve reserve forces.
They're they're nothing what they used to be.
Oh, my camera went out of focus.
Oh, that's all right.
Either that or my eyeballs are blurry.
We just we just popped up on X.
OK, good. Yay.
Although on Instagram, it looks like our video is frozen or something. I don't know what's going on over there
Hopefully they can see us
But yeah, what I was worried about is them sort of refueling the Ukrainian effort, you know
Like okay, they're not gonna give you intelligence
then the SAS will come in and will do intelligence for you and
intelligence then the SAS will come in and will do intelligence for you and
Keep the war effort going, you know, because I don't know what Europe's thinking if they think
We can use sort of like what the United States has done. I think is we can
Sacrifice Ukraine in order to you know, really deflate the Russian military capacity and then we don't have to worry about it as much
Yeah, you know some of that's going on. Right.
But they've been on a war footing for many years.
So they got their military industrial complex up and running where it hadn't been running
before.
So you know ours is kind of stagnant.
But you want me to go over this stuff cuz Maria
Really when I told her we're gonna have this show she went all out to try and get
Romanian. Oh, yeah, let's bring it up. I'll bring it up right now. Boom
Yay, this is this is my chosen headline as we start to talk about the because a lot of people
I don't even know what's going on.
So you may want to give them like the intro because we talked about it months ago when
it first started, like pre Trump election even.
Exactly.
And it's not cooled off at all.
No, it's gotten worse, way, way worse. So Romania sits on the border of Ukraine and they are
considered just like Poland, the next thing on Vladimir Putin's to-do list.
So they had an election back in November, and the way Romanian elections go,
everybody that wants to be a candidate, they run.
So they ran like 14 candidates,
and the top two get into a runoff election.
Well, one was a Kamala Harris-like woman,
and the other one was a Donald Trump-like guy. So they
were going to go into the runoff election, which was going to happen in
December, and the sitting president declared the, null and void. And he said that Russia through TikTok influenced
the election and it looked like the Trump-like candidate was going to win big time.
Couldn't have that.
Yeah, we couldn't have that. We actually suspended elections.
And now on February 10th, he resigned and stepped down.
And I think he left the country.
I think.
He handpicked his successor.
Okay.
You'll run this until the next election.
And, uh, he got a lot of weapons and support from the United States.
Like we did.
Okay.
To them and Poland and he sold them to an unknown source.
Uh, made lots of money.
Him and his top generals did this.
And now I guess the FBI is looking into, uh, where those weapons may have ended up.
So that's, that's one thing.
So where do you think they ended up?
Uh, if you had to take a wild guess highest bidder?
Yeah, whoever paid the most money.
So terrorists probably.
Iran, Iranian sources.
Exactly, because they got all that money.
Or maybe Ukraine. They had a lot of money to spend.
Yeah, our money. That's what I mean. Yeah. I mean, they have that money. They had a lot of money to spend. Yeah. Our money.
That's what I mean.
Yeah.
So, I mean, they have that money.
They have that big chunk of change.
They just have no idea what happened to it.
Where it went.
I don't know.
Misplaced that billion.
Going on right now is the current president that was never elected, but
handpicked, okay, he, He goes in there and you remember when
J.D. Vance said you got to be more open with your people and freedom of speech.
Yeah.
Well, this guy gets up before their parliament and starts like lambasting J.D. Vance. Who's
he to tell us how to run our country?
Right, right because he did that. He should pay attention to him. Yeah, he should pay attention to what's going on in the United States
So this guy is not
Not well like
Not
With it the good the good thing is they're going to have another election.
The bad thing is they've already tried twice to put this guy on trial, the Trump-like candidate.
So they're using...
Oh, so they're felonying him up too.
Yes.
Why would they make the same mistake that didn't work in America well according to
the way their elections run you can't run if you're accused not not convicted just accused
wow that's convenient so it only became eligible to be on the ballot. But that's real convenient.
Also fighting that before their version of the Supreme Court,
which doesn't look like it's going to side with him because they have been corrupted too.
Wow.
Yeah. So it's, it's consequently, there's huge demonstrations.
People don't like what's going on.
They're going in the streets.
Maria said that this past weekend,
now understand that in Romania,
their police force is a national police force.
So it's not like sheriffs and all that kind of stuff.
The whole country is under the same police force.
I gotcha.
And she said that they stopped putting up barricades, that they stopped responding to riots.
So...
Oh, God. how's that work?
Now there you take it or once.
Yeah, just for one.
I gotta go see what's going on in my backyard.
Go ahead.
So this is what's going on in Romania and it's spilling over into other countries.
I mean, they EU, they want the person,
they're backing a young guy that is way left
and they want that guy elected
and they're making no bones about it.
They're supporting that candidate.
So we'll see what happens with the temporary president.
And let's see, they're, sorry, sorry, gotta read my notes.
FBI is investigating. Yeah, the current temporary guy
and the old, the mandatory training. So they're trying to get their version of Congress, their
parliament, to pass a mandatory, if you're 19 to 60, you have to at least take basic training in the military.
And that's imminent. So they're trying to stop. And anybody that's working outside the country,
that is a Romanian citizen, they're not going to let them back in unless they take that training
or they'll be arrested. So there's a mandatory compulsory basic training that they want every take. They did do the call up of 10,000 troops. This was way back. The call up happened. They
offered bonuses and incentives and they did get, but it took them two years to do it,
the 10,000 extra additional military troops. Yeah, it's going crazy in Europe right now and no one's covering it.
It's definitely going crazy in Romania. How does Maria feel about all of it and her family? Well,
a nephew that's of draft age and he's talking about leaving the country and because they story that blew my mind that Maria told me and you years ago, probably years ago now.
I am not well versed in even the United States military, let alone the militaries of the world.
So me being an American, I always assumed that everybody operates the same way.
You know what I mean?
In terms of like, if a war comes, we shall fight it.
You know what I mean?
And what Maria told me was that a lot of people have no interest in
Romania and joining the military whatsoever.
And that really blew my mind.
I didn't know that was even a sentiment in any country that, you know,
well, we, we canvassed all of the males of military age while we were there.
And every one of them said, no they they would not fight and if they were
called up they would run away why is my camera all out of focus i don't know what's going on with
that that might help yeah i have i'm on predator watch out there i don't know what the dogs are on
but they're on to something ah they're on to something You know what it is? I figured something out Dave Jones to take a quick diversion. Yeah, I
I have a five gallon bucket chicken feeder with the little feeder screw in
Yeah, you know that guy which I absolutely love
What I didn't realize about that thing until recently is that is also bait
What I didn't realize about that thing until recently is that is also bait
Really like you if you were in a situation when you're like I got a lures some cut some
Raccoons and possums like that little feeder does it I have to sit that thing at my back step. So they eat it all. Oh
That's it. That's a little to-purpose
Homestead tip for you because wherever that food is they show up
Well, we actually put ours inside the coop. Yeah, we have idea We have a coop two coops big enough that we can put it in there and then when the
You know the door goes down. They yeah
Yeah, I gotta put mine right near my back door cuz even if the big guys don't get to it other little mice and stuff must get to it
cuz it's always with it's always a good free meal always screwed with that in
the in the field corn man they go gaga over it oh yeah yeah you know another
another little tip that I figured out is if you take I was I have the chickens in a dog enclosure
With you inside the dog enclosure bird netting over the top because it's relentless out back
You would think I live next door to you like the amount of predators that I deal with on a regular basis is insane
so we got them all on lockdown.
And one of the things I do is I take a bin and when I clean the coop out and
put you know all the bedding in the bin and I left it there and it got rained on
and the the chickens went absolutely insane over it. And I realized that all
the larvae, once it got wet
it got filled with all kinds of worms and beetles and larvae and
I was thinking like whoa that that's a cool little trick if you're running out or running low on food
Feed you know what I mean, and you don't need to feed them and and maybe you don't want to let them free-range
Because you're you know somewhere where they're gonna get eaten and if you really need them, you know, you don't want to let them free-range because you're somewhere where they're gonna get eaten and if you really need them
You know, you don't want them getting eaten. So that's a little little trick
I don't know. It's I don't know what is in there like I haven't inspected it
But I know that they go they went into that thing like like it was feet
They were kicking up bedding up out of that thing and they were in there just packing. Yeah, they were going through the maggot buckets.
I think that's pretty much what it was.
Yeah, I think that's what it basically became.
Yeah.
So when we, whenever we butcher or have meat scraps or something like that, we'll
put the, the hides and the, you know, the stuff that we don't feed anything else
in these buckets, the flies will lay the maggots
and then the maggots come out the holes and we put them on a little tripod there and when
the maggots fall down, the chickens fight over them. I mean, it's, but it's, it smells.
Yeah. Yeah. Rotten meat is rough. And I'm surprised we haven't gotten bears over. Yeah. Oh, yeah that that's a thing that that is consequence of a filthy coop
Yeah, I've I've I've experienced that before actually I experienced it not long ago with the quails
The quails were at that point
I had like got like this yellow tray that catches all their
Droppings and I was like one of those busy days and I knew I had to change it and I forgot about it totally shut them up locked
them up in the in the thing and something was in there because we were
out late actually we found out what it was it was it was a little little ish
raccoon but I think that smell is what brought it you know because he wasn't
the only one that same night my big dog ripped a
possum up that was right out and behind the shed he just ran down there and
ripped that thing up and that was pretty rough you know you never kill
anything there's only problem with dogs they'll take care ish of a predator you
know what I mean they don't kill it It's just sitting there looking at you like what do I do now? I'm broke.
Yeah, yeah, that's exactly what that possum was, broke. Yeah.
So we just got back into quail. Oh cool.
We went up to West Virginia. We like the jumbo quail.
Okay. I got the bobby.
Isn't it jumbo quail?
That is a funny one. Yeah, so we got 10 females and two males, and the one male pecked the other male to death.
So yeah, I had a couple of that go down in mine too. They seem to have evened out though.
They are ferocious, aren't they?
Yeah, well the other thing I had them do is what you told me about is the heads.
When they were going through the predation in there, I guess that they got crazy.
The raccoon didn't get in the coop.
The coop is pretty cool.
But the raccoon didn't get in there, but coop is pretty cool, but the raccoon did get in there But I think all the commotion them jumping up. They like bash their heads pretty good
You know they're all bloody and that kind of not anymore. They're healing now, but yeah, yeah, they're wild
They've done nothing for me yet. I'm hoping that we hope that yeah nothing
We got ours and the guy said they're they're gonna lay any day and by the time we got them home
We had an egg. Oh, wow
Yeah
Wow, they've been laying ever since so yes. See are what I think the fundamental issue with mine is
Sunlight, so we're gonna uh, we're gonna get them out because I have them in the shed.
Yeah.
So they're getting no sunlight until I bring them out into the sunlight.
So I think I'll do that now that the weather's better and we'll probably see some improvements.
I could put one of these big babies inside the old shed and give them some UV.
Can you hang on one second? I just gotta run run and let the dogs in then I'll be right back
Well, sure just give them a tail of quail or something like that
Camera is just killing me here. Why is it?
Why is it no he put me on wide angle? So now you get to see the whole office here
I'll turn the light on so you can see it better Oh, he put me on wide angle. So now you get to see the whole office here.
I'll turn the light on so you can see it better.
Come on camera focus, focus.
I'm, I'm sorry, PBN.
I, I think you got a little better.
Oh yeah.
You look better now.
Definitely.
Now I'm blown out.
Now I got blown out with the light here. I got to little better. Oh yeah, you look better now. Definitely. Now I'm blown out. Now I got blown out with the light here.
I gotta get that.
Well, I'm a little, I turned the light on
to see if it would focus better.
It's better.
I need a better hookup here.
So Maria wants to get on StreamYard and do our own thing
and prepping up with the Joneses.
So I'm pretty sure we're gonna be doing that this summer.
Dude, that'll be great.
You kidding me?
I can't wait to be prepping up with the Joneses again.
And so much funny stuff happens.
I'll tell you what you should do, man, is you should make it mobile.
You should get a good phone holder, one of them sticks,
and do a show like that, because you guys got all the visuals.
It'd be a great show.
Rather than in the studio, in the dark basement,
like you guys got all the good stuff.
Oh, Sloan Six in the house.
Uh-huh.
He said, I miss daily prepper tips.
I'll be back into it. I didn't even found my phone. The one that had a speaker. I did not have a speaker. I had nowhere to log in.
Oh yeah. Yeah. The moral of the story is don't let your wife clean up the office.
Yeah. Yeah, that's of the story is don't let your wife clean up the office. Yeah
Yeah, that's not too bad. She put it away
Well, at least she put it away a lot of times my wife cleans up she goes
They don't need that and throws it away
Throws it and that you're gone, you know what I mean? So not too bad not too bad on that one
that you go on. You know what I mean? So not too bad. Not too bad on that one. So yeah, the spring is springing. Yeah. Did you get through the notes on Romania? Did we leave
anything essential out? I know you had all kinds of stuff. No, I think we got it all.
What you missed was to have a mandatory, their parliament is voting into law a mandatory service for 19 to 60 year olds.
60?
You have to do basic training. You have to come for basic military training. Then you can be released,
military training, then you can be released, but you have to do it. And they said, if you don't do this, um, you'll be arrested.
And if you're working outside the country, you'll have, I think she said 14 days to
come back and report, or you'll be arrested when you return.
So it's, it's going So it's going crazy there.
So they're riot, subsequent riots because of that order?
Well, I think it's just everything.
Because like, yeah, Maria said that this was her words.
They're shredding the constitution.
Oh boy, there're in for it.
Well, sounds about right.
Sounds about like what we went through under Biden.
They say that they're restricting the internet.
The guy that was appointed president or selected to be president,
he said, you wouldn't know how to even drive if it wasn't for the internet.
I can flip the switch just like that and you won't have internet.
And so some people that Maria follow in Romania, they're having problems posting.
And the information that she's getting is from people outside Romania that still have contact personally with other people.
So I think they're playing around with, hey, if you talk against the government, you ain't going to get posted.
Wow. They're making all the mistakes our government made. Yeah, literally
Yeah
It's so weird man. The yeah, I mean I guess it is what it is from their stand
But how do you know there's no morale boost when you got a government like that doing what they're doing
Nobody's going into basic training like I'm ready to stand for this nation and this leadership against Russia
I'm ready to stand for this nation and this leadership against Russia. Yeah.
That's what I really want to do.
You know, they're like, go to hell.
This is awful.
Yeah, that's tough, man.
That's tough.
It's going to be going to stay tough too.
I guess the further Putin pushes this thing, the more Poland and Ukraine or Romania are going to say, well, we better get our asses in gear just in case.
Even though Poland is no pushover. I mean, it's not like yeah
It's not like Russia's be rolling in there like they did Ukraine like they're gonna
know and they really stepped up and they they stepped up they stepped up big time before this happened and
They doubled down. I mean, yeah
they're all in they they recalled their citizens a long time ago and
They're on the front line ready to go. Yeah, I don't even think that's something that
Putin could or would even wish to do
Yeah, you know like what?
What would the benefit be?
You know, you're gonna get
Massacred before you deal with you know, any other European any NATO ally anything like that
Yeah, yeah, that would be an ugly scene because they got a nice Air Force and everything. That's not
Ukraine
That's the real deal yeah, well they've learned their lesson
That's the real deal. Yeah. Well, they've learned their lesson
World War two they learned
Yeah, they expected that the United States would eventually
Liberate them. Yeah
Now they know you know, hey, we're never gonna let that happen again. What do you think about that? I
personally What do you think about that? I personally love the fact, and I think it's good for the European people, that Trump is playing this sort of, like, you're on your own. You know what I mean? It reminds me of raising kids a little bit. the Making some bombs and shit. We better get together here. America's not not coming to save everybody for
you know, we 80% of NATO is the United States if we pull out I mean it turns into a
popcorn fart
Well the thing that they don't talk where that Trump doesn't talk about and I'm not you know knocking him or anything
but he talks about it from this perspective of billions and billions and billions of
dollars that we invest compared to theirs and what I've always thought
about ever since that conversation with you two with Maria and you about the
Romanian kids is it's not just the billions and billions it's all our kids
all our men and women in the military. They go over there and whatever's over there,
if it's a NATO situation, in Article 5 or whatever, then it's all those American people that go over
there too, if the Europeans are just in for 5% or's, that's serious. Yeah. And that's Maria finds that to be the, the biggest amazement that the United
States would sacrifice their brightest, their future to save another country
that couldn't possibly benefit them in any way.
No, there's no way they can return the favor, nothing.
Yeah, it is wild.
And I think that's what made me so excited about Trump standing up to Zelensky about it, you know.
Was like, you know, you're gonna do some heavy lifting here, dude.
Or you're gonna do things the way we want you to do them because that's what that eventually could happen
You know, yeah, you piss rush off enough and God only knows that they could do
Yeah, and then you got a book and you got a war Trump was right if we didn't support them
The war would have been over in two weeks, right? Yeah. Yeah, I look back and I say I
Wish we hadn't.
You know, it almost feels like if we hadn't, Putin would have rolled up into Ukraine, took what he wanted, rolled out, and we'd have had probably a million more people alive or whatever it is. You know, 500,000 more people would be alive on the planet than and how much of Ukraine would be standing
Yeah, I mean still and all that been leveled. Yeah, I mean, I don't know that that country will ever get back
You know what? I mean people left you the excuse that
Putin made to go into Ukraine in the first place not
Nazis yeah to go into Ukraine in the first place. Nazis! Nazis! Yeah, that was sweet. I'm like, what the hell, dude?
What do you think this is, 1935? We have to stop them Nazis! I think I heard Hitler's over there
hiding out. Yeah, Hitler's progenies hiding in Ukraine. Yeah. I mean, look, I see it from both sides to be on.
If I really sit down and think about it, I see it from both sides anymore.
I know what Obama did.
I know what McCain did.
They set Russia up for failure over there to put our people in.
And then we pushed and pushed and pushed, you know?
Exactly.
And NATO, NATO said, no, we will not.
Yeah.
And then they went back on.
Yeah, they did.
And all those countries that were former Soviet bloc countries, Romania being one of them,
is now in NATO.
Right, exactly.
And Finland now even.
Yep.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And if you're a leader of a nation and you know what America does to leaders of nations they don't like and you see the next door neighbor get to kibosh.
I got before the CIA or somebody comes in and takes me out
So I mean I see it from both sides. I get it. You know it sucks. You know I mean war sucks Just is what it is, but
It doesn't seem like Israel's ready to calm down either though
No, no, Trump Trump said release the hostage user else
Yeah, and then over the weekend. He said I ran we need to make a deal
And it's either gonna be a deal or it's gonna be a military situation.
Yeah, he said that on Sunday or Saturday or something. So that's and they and they said forget it. Yeah, we're not making no deal.
They're fanaticals. They'll never that will never change Until the people
Decapitated entirely. Yeah. Yeah, exactly
And they stomp that out
Yeah
That's what you got to have over there that region would be could you imagine a democratic iran with no radical muslim leadership at the top?
The whole middle east would change. Yeah, it used to be that way and um
jimmy The shah jimmy carter change yeah it used to be that way and Jimmy the Shaw Jimmy Carter yep great
a great and all-knowing and powerful Jimmy Carter not to speak ill of the
dead but whatever it is what it is he did it he let the Shah back in right or
exile no he exiled who did he yeah, that's it and then the and then the radical Muslims moved in
And it's been hell ever since for the good movie
Uh sally fields made this movie. Uh, this was right after she won her academy award and it it was
Not without my daughter
And it was not without my daughter. And it portrays what happened in Iran.
She married this doctor who was in America.
The hostages were taken.
And he wanted to go visit his mom and dad.
Okay, fair enough.
So she says, okay, they go over.
They're not leaving.
And it's very, very good if and it's not very long.
The quality is, you know, but it's back in the day.
I mean, it was made late 80s maybe Jay Ferg
saw it in junior high oh wow okay then it was quite a while ago yeah yeah not without
my daughter really good movie junior high yeah oh she it was a assignment. Wow. She had to watch it for class. They must
had a Dave Jones teacher over there doing that. Yeah. I'm watching the movie right now. I
fell asleep on it. No, I didn't fall asleep on it. It was my son came down at 1148. He
hollers down at 1148. I can't sleep. It's Sunday night. I Got school in the morning. I can't sleep
I'm like what?
But it's called I never seen it before I never heard about it
I never knew it existed which is really funny cuz Johnny Depp's in it. It's called transcendence
Did you ever hear you saw it? Yeah, right. I sat down
I said I'm gonna watch it see what kind of AI they you know, how they portray the AI
Don't spoil it for me because I'm like, you know three quarters in I'm sure it's gonna be
Pretty good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah didn't ex Machina come out right around that time. I
Think came out 2014 that movie that I'm watching now. Oh
I could be yeah, it seems like
Your flying by you know what what seems to be?
You know just and it's like now that was 20 years ago. I'm like what?
This is what's the wildest to me is I?
Look at my son now my oldest
Yeah, like this. Yeah. Like this.
Yeah.
Like Dr. Carter, I'm standing there like, eh, what's up?
You know what I mean?
And it's like, look at right at him.
Yeah.
And it's just, you know, that I'm not a, I love it and I hate it.
You know?
I love it and I hate it.
Deanna is taller than Maria and I.
Oh, is she?
She's the giant. I think we're going to be in the same boat. I think we'll be in the same bike because she's 16, right?
17 she's gonna be 18 in July. Oh man, I didn't know I thought you're 16. That's terrible, isn't it?
Yeah, I think when my son 16 will be it'll be it won't be this anymore. It'll be this
Yeah, you better get your shit together That's right. Don't make me come up there think Little Jacob is he's a big kid. He's a bit built big kid, too
but Nothing for me to worry about but yeah, it's just one of those things
happens fast
You say you remember when I had him when I had them whenever they were little I say I'm gonna savor this
Yeah
Neighbor this Dave Jones. I want to make sure I see it all and it doesn't matter
It still happens and it doesn't matter
It still happens and it has still happened so fast and then you're like what?
Gonna be leaving soon for no one time waits for no man. There's no doubt about it good grief
Yeah, how long have we known each other? Geez, we go back a ways
Whatever that prepper show in
doswell was
20 Had to be pretty early had to be like 2012 Whatever that prepper show in DOS well was 20
Had to be pretty early had to be like 2012
2011 something like that. I think that because I first got on the network around then 2012 2013 and I think that was pretty close
Pretty close around there that does well prepper event. I remember well has that knife. Oh
gave me a fire department knife or
something like that and I gave it to her because she didn't have a knife in the
car and there was a seatbelt cutter on and a glass breaker and I was like here
just keep this in your car. Yeah, yeah she still has that thing. That's like a
that's like a piece of PBN history for the museum one day that thing
The one day I remember
I want to do this thing. They call it podcasting and you said oh am I gonna do for you?
Yeah, that was back in gman days
Gman running the show man. Yeah
I can't believe he's gone. That's crazy. I talked to G-man. He interviewed me, interviewed me.
Yeah. And then it took off. Yeah, it was great. The prepping up with the Joneses was great. I can't wait.
If you guys bring that back, that's going to be sweet. Well, thanks. Yeah, that's going to be awesome
That's gonna be sweet. Well, thanks.
Yeah, that's gonna be awesome.
Because you guys do it out there.
Yeah.
Wait, Maria wants to yell at me.
Oh.
Okay.
I'll put it in.
I'll put it in.
I'll put it in.
Okay.
I didn't put the laundry in the dryer.
It's time for a protest.
Put the laundry in the dryer. It's time for a protest
Yeah, I like it I like it I get it
Sloan six asks about Carl B. Where's Carl B. He's coming. He took a couple
Yeah, Carl B gets busy with the family man. He's he's doing it out there. He's full-time dad and two
Yeah, he he I remember when he came on. Oh, yeah, definitely. Yeah, I brought him on for an interview as an author
Yeah, talk to him for about 10 minutes and then the rest of the conversation i'm listening to him and in my head I'm going I gotta get this guy to be a host because he's awesome
And that that was the story of Carl B for sure.
Yeah, I mean, hey, I look back, Dave Jones, and I say,
even still to this day, even to this day with,
and I'm not like a aficionado of alternative media
or anything like that, but still to this day, I look at PBN
and go, I don't know where you would go to get what we
do in a week I have no clue where you would go to get the kind of content that we put out in a week
that is political geopolitical prepping survival home setting personal family religion you know
what I mean it's it's everything yeah it's everything and it's real it's it's not like uh
It's everything. Yeah, it's everything and it's real. It's it's not like
Go ahead our guys. Oh, dude
When they first come on and they had like these these intros and I'm like, whoa, we got to step up our game
Yeah, and then they got us some sound and all that. Yeah
Yeah, they were awesome they they still are they're coming up on our 300 300 I know
Three and then don't miss that one true. That's gonna be a sweet show on video. You got to have the video for that one
Yeah, cuz that's gonna be a very important show
Yeah, we got to get together and figure out this ration or ruin situation here soon because it's the tenth
And they want to kick off in April, right?
Yeah. Yeah, I I don't know how that's gonna go but
we'll
Got them get out we just kind of pulled out of our nether reading, you know and said
You and Maria really made that special you guys turned that event into
Into something to remember for sure
You know, I still remember I was pretty nervous about it. I was pretty nervous especially that first cash I got to that first cash and it's in a parking lot and there's people everywhere
And he and I wanted to
Yeah, and I wanted to look in that box Like I wanted some time with that box cuz it was a big one
My first cash was huge
And I was like I gotta find a spot to go with like hang out
I don't want to use a flashlight cuz if I it's dark now
Yeah, you'd like you're in a dark parking lot with lights and you see over there as a light flashing you like what the hell's going on over there
Yeah, that was that was a lot of fun. That was a lot of fun, man
Yeah, I remember telling Maria I can't make up these boxes
The stuff that they may need and she she's like going through my prepper stuff
Oh, yeah, she hooked us up. Yeah, I started thinking about that the other day. I downloaded all the shows
Yeah, I started thinking about that the other day I downloaded all the shows and all right them together I have a big problem. I don't know
The biggest struggle is some of the shows when you download them. They say exactly what it is James
number two
Whatever and then some of the shows say draft and a bunch of numbers
And it makes it so hard to put them in line.
So what I think I'm going to do is delete them all and then pick them off one by
one and then combine it.
Cause you're right.
We need to, we need the full four hour, whatever it is extravaganza in one shot
because it was great.
But what I started wondering was how long, if we used all the food and if we used all the stuff
how long could we have lasted out there? You know? Yeah. We had a lot of food. Like we didn't eat
anything hardly that night. Right. It was just a like an overnight thing and you the the scenario was you guys were supposed to trek
To the jones homestead
Oh, that's right. I forgot all about that the next morning
Hey, can can you hold on? Yeah, i'll hold it down. Don't worry. Go ahead and let me mute
I'll put you off the thing. There we go
Yeah, that was uh, that was a good one man. The Gotham getout scenario was essentially a
It was essentially an urban survival simulation slash bug out and
We had three there was it was myself
Future Dan and Ben the breaker of the banks. There's a Patriot power hour hosts. We had three, it was myself, Future Dan, and Ben the Breaker of the Banks, there's the
Patriot Power Hour hosts.
We had an eight mile hike in the cold, it was cold as shit.
It was like 18 degrees out or whatever.
And we had this cold hike and along the way we had to find our way, we had to navigate
to these caches that the Jones crew put up.
And man, it was awesome. It was cold. Actually, you know what? It wasn't really cold. In fact around we did it at night
We started it like I guess we started because it was winter and it was still kind of daylight when I was getting going
So it was it was February
So we probably kicked off about 630 6 630 something like that and I remember
about midnight ish
Levin ish something like that. I
Had weight in my backpack because the other amazing thing we did for Gotham get out before all this kicked off
We had 20 bucks and a thrift store
$20 to spend in the thrift shop to get a backpack and every outer layer that we would need to survive the night
And it was going to be I think it was like it was mid teens by the time the sun came up
So I wound up with a really nice jacket. I wound up with a really good back
No, it wasn't a really good backpack. I actually was like a kid's backpack, but it was fine zippers held up, you know that kind of thing
um good backpack. I actually was like a kid's backpack, but it was fine. Zippers held up, you know, that kind of thing. It was a blast, man. It was an absolute blast. And after we did our... You good, Jones? Or you want me to keep you off for a minute?
I'm reading your comments there.
Oh, God. Yeah.
I was supposed to put the laundry in the dryer and I didn't do it. I
forgot Yeah, funny. I'm just I was just giving them the rundown about the thrift shop and and
All of the stuff
You had a fixed amount of money and you had to buy your stuff
And you had a certain amount of time to even go into the thrift store and buy it. Oh, I forgot
We had a time limit. Yeah, we had like five
shop with a purpose you couldn't just go in there and hang out and
Then it was on
Yeah, I said I said I thought we headed out about six
I think I shoved off about six because I still had a little daylight left and
Then yeah, I had to drop one of you's off at a different location. Yeah
Yeah, and I remember by about 10 30 11 o'clock. I was actually taking off
one of my
layers under my coat
Even though it was freezing cold
I was like I gotta take a layer off
because I'm I was doing fine out there I can I felt fine I didn't really feel the
cold until we just stopped moving you know but we got a good fire going that
was easy you made fire so easy for us we had about 50 different ways to start
yeah I think I wound up shooting some sparks on some gunpowder actually I think that's what we did we wind up with
Yeah, I've here I played around with the 9-volt in the what's it called?
But I couldn't get shit going and the guys were and myself we were all like dude. Let's get warm
You know, I was like hand me that bullet. Let's do it this way. This would be quicker
And then we got that going and we built our little homeless encampment
Yeah me that bullet let's do it this way this will be quicker and then we got that going and we built our little homeless encampment yeah and there we sat for i think we were i think we were in camp
settled by like one so i think we spent every bit of like four or five hours just chilling
future dan wound up getting some shut eye i think i may have passed out a couple times too I can't remember I remember being leaned
up against something yeah but prime and and Ben looked like the coldest dude
ever yeah he looked really cold he did I do guys at six o'clock in the morning
then was hurting yeah he didn't do well on the shopping. Remember
he had like this he only got like a sweater or something I think.
And I think once he stopped moving he was probably like oh I could use a little more.
But you guys even hooked this up with like mats and some blankets and stuff like that. Like the
blankets and stuff like that like the met the mats were clutch for the cold I
Sat my ass on a mat the whole night and I was kept thinking like I'm pretty cold But if I was sitting on the ground, this would be way worse
This would be way worse the ground just sucks the heat from your body. Yeah, that's something to consider PBM family
Yeah, a little bit of space between you and that cold ground makes a world of difference
Dude, it's a mistake. You only make once there you go. Yeah
I've done it once I woke up with pains in my and I was young
Yeah, I get that now, but I was like in my 20s like holy crap
Now I know why they give you that sleeping man. Yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I did an early spring
I remember I did an early spring
Solo in a hammock and it got colder than I thought it was going to get
But I thought I was good to go because I had a lot of layers and stuff like that
And the the space between the hammock and the ground
just sucked all the heat out of me it was yeah I needed one of those hammock quilts one of those
under hammock quilts but I didn't know at the time that cold boy that cold will sap it out of you
but yeah man dude it's been an amazing ride here ride here at PBS with you guys it has been just
You know the the only regret I have is that we've done so much and so few people have heard it
I know that it has happened. Yeah, you know what I mean?
It was like best kept secret in the prepper sphere easily and maybe no bigger than that even
secret in the prepper sphere. Easily, maybe no bigger than that even.
Once in a while though, I will go to a prepper event.
Like I went to that one in Ohio.
Yeah, yeah.
I was talking to this guy and this woman turned around
and she says, wait, I know you.
And I said, you know me?
She says, I go to shenny, listen, every night I said wow I put women to sleep I don't
even know it's good to know it's not just my wife yeah that's great yeah yeah that always feels good
for sure but it's just the you know it's been awesome that's all it's been a you know, the people the listeners that everything it's been just amazing
Now we're all on
Sarah's audio drama. I mean that's a whole nother thing. She's
Remastering the early days. I mean when you think back on that that was what three years ago that we started doing that.
Probably.
At least three years ago because Deanna was like, she was young when she first started doing Margaret.
It may have been four Prepper camps ago that she and I sat there with the Jaeger Meister and got to changing earth on the
Network. I think that was like four
Yeah, it was at least three prepper camps ago for sure. Oh, yeah, it has to be four. Yeah when you you think back
Yeah, it has to be four. So yeah cuz she was with us through kovat wasn't she right or maybe that year
Maybe that you was the year.
Yeah. I mean, it's, you know, but we, the craziest thing of all, Dave Jones is, and you can
attest to this, this is what blows me away about you guys the most.
This whole core of hosts is when we did the shows with G-Man, it felt like we
were in a revolving door.
You know what I mean?
It felt like I would get on the horn with G-man, and he'd be like,
eh, this son of a bitch won't get me a show.
I ain't got a show from him.
And all this kind of stuff.
Or, oh, this guy just quit and didn't even tell me why.
Or I got an argument with one of them, and they got, you know.
And I figured that is what it was, that's, it makes sense, right?
You guys are doing this thing on your free time. You know what I mean?
Yeah. You said, well, if I'm going to buy this thing,
this is the way it's going to be. Definitely. It didn't turn out that way.
No, man. It has been this core of hosts for
God, since I bought it since 2018 really
the the
I guess the dravens will make their return once they get all moved and everything like that
They're one of the core elements of that first crew that's kind of been missing, you know the gunmetal armory. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah
Yeah, he's got a
He's got a mask. I'm hearing about the audio drama. Oh, yeah, he's great. What is his name? The he's mr. Lee. Mr. Lee. That's it
Yeah, he's the boss man. Yeah, he does great with mr. Lee, too
I love that he does but before right before he moved in and
Went went off the air for a while
He was doing for those of you out there listening and want to search the archives you can search it at prepper broadcasting comm
he did a World War two series about opposition forces and guerrilla tactics and
