To oppose tyranny and fight for the rights
are created us in the United States Constitution.
We are the Prepper Broadcasting Network.
We are the proper Broadcasting Network.
Hello everyone out there in Internet Radioland.
This is Dave Jones, the NBC guy,
coming to you on this beautiful Thursday, man.
Today's weather was just fantastic, fantastic.
cool, nice breeze, not too much humidity.
I mean, it was perfect.
It couldn't have been better.
So you know what we did today?
We butchered some rabbits.
17 to be exact.
And it went pretty quick.
Let's see.
Like three hours.
Yeah, a little over, two and a half maybe.
Anyway, rabbits are easy, quail are easy to butcher.
Gosh, where do I start?
I recommend having a set of knives that your go-to knives for butchering.
Keep them separate from your kitchen knives and all that kind of stuff
so that when it's time to do butchering, you just go grab the bin,
sharpen them up, and go to work.
We use, it's a hunting knife by cold steel, Pendleton.
I did a daily audio cache or something on them a while back.
They are very good knives, just the right length.
Stay sharp.
You sharpen them, they stay sharp.
Very good knives.
Also, an OIT.
You need to have this OIT.
You know what OIT stands for?
Old Indian trick.
Old Indian trick.
Get you a pair of pruning scissors.
Pruning, you know, cutters.
And leave them for the butchering.
It makes it so much easier.
You clean those off.
You can cut the necks, the backs, the arms,
chop, chop, chop.
and then it's just so much easier.
I have yet to find one in stainless steel,
but I scrub them really good,
I sanitize them,
and then I pour alcohol over them at the end.
You know, I scrub them like three times, poor alcohol.
And I only keep them for butchering.
I will not cut a tree or a limb or anything like that.
That's our butchering, pruning,
scissors.
What else can I tell you?
Well, about a week or so ago
when the wildfires were going on,
we were raising some meatbirds,
meat chickens.
And man,
they get fat quick.
And I mean quick.
Six, eight weeks,
you got to butcher them.
And if you don't butcher them, they will die of heart failure.
It's just the way it is.
They can't survive into adulthood.
They've been bred there across between two other chickens,
and it's a one-way street for them.
And it's probably the chicken that you eat most out there.
So if you buy chicken, that's the chicken you're buying.
So these things
Last week when the wildfires were going on
We were going to butcher them
And we postponed because of the wildfires
And I went up to feed them
And usually they'll be around the feeder like sharks
In a frenzy just
Pop-a-Bop-Bop-Eat-Bat-W-Eat-I-Eat
And I noticed some over in the corner
And I went over and jiggled them
To see if they'd move
And they were dead
Yes.
So we got them half-price at tractor supply
because they had been there for a while,
but we didn't know how old they were.
And I go down to Marie and said,
four of those chickens are dead.
They're up in the coop.
She said, we got to butcher them.
We got to butcher them right now.
This is 8 o'clock at night.
So we are out there butchering in the dark
with headlights on.
Now, in the time it took me to set everything up, get the knives, get the tables, get everything together, another one had died.
So it is crucial if you get meat birds, you have got to do the deed before they get so big that they just die on you.
and we were doing some comparisons between rabbits and the chickens, the meat chickens.
And even though rabbits are easy, and the chickens, the meat chickens, pound for pound, dollar for dollar, are a better deal than rabbits.
rabbits highest protein of any animal
but
you have to keep them longer
feed them longer now we did have them in a
pen where they ate a lot of grass
I mean these were free range rabbits
they were not cooped up at all
and
but boy
and they're not as much meat
not as much meat
but I guess the quality of meat
is
you know for protein is pretty big
but you're going to have to
one of those chickens
would easily
make a meal or two
and we're probably
going to have to put two of those rabbits
in a stew
to make a meal so that's
that's the difference
and the
Intrepid Commander talked about
your own food preparation.
Well, it can be done.
It can be done.
We're doing it.
Here at the Jones stead,
thank you, future Dan,
for Jones'
coming up with that phrase.
Any given night,
when we sit down to supper,
50 to 80%
of what is put on the plate
we've actually grown right here.
And the great thing is,
you know exactly what that animal ate,
you know where it came from,
the whole nine yards from start to finish.
That is wonderful.
And not to mention,
the price of groceries,
have you noticed?
And now that the war is going,
oh, by the way,
I mentioned this today on Tradcat, Eric.
He had me on today.
Trump is moving medical personnel.
Medics and medical supplies forward.
And just like when Russia invaded Ukraine,
you don't do that stuff unless you're ready
for some kind of invasion.
So in the near future, expect the Marines to take those islands and to secure the Strait of Hormuz.
And I don't know what's going to happen in the Red Sea, but there is another aircraft carrier.
So there's going to be three aircraft carrier strike groups in the Middle East area.
and apparently we can bomb Iran with impunity.
So I think, well, Trump gave him the chance,
gave him, you know, peace talk, ceasefire, everything,
and apparently you can't deal with nuts.
with insane people that want to create a bomb and bomb Israel.
Create a nuclear bomb to bring out the 12thi mom from the cave.
Look it up, Google it.
They want to bring about the end of the world,
and they see that by being able to have a nuke and destroying Israel.
So there you go.
until those people sit down and shut up,
I don't think you're going to deal with them.
Anyway, Patriot Power Hour guys on tonight.
I'm looking forward to a great show.
Top off your gas tank.
Gas is only going to go up,
at least for the near future.
I'm glad I topped everything off last week,
and I used my gas points before things went crazy.
So, timing's every day.
And remember, take your scrap metal to the scrap yard, get cash for it, and go buy silver.
This is Jones Tips of the Day. There you go. We must have got 100 tips in this episode.
Anyway, I got to go upstairs. I'm surprised the warden hasn't already tracked me down.
Listen, I'm 69 years old.
I'm closer to 70 than 69.
And I'm doing it.
You can do it too.
No excuses.
The biggest limitation is what's between your brain or between your ears, your brain.
If you say you can't or you say you can, you're right on both.
accounts.
This is, you form your own reality.
This is from the other day.
So just suck it up, Buttercup.
Do it. Just do it.
Take care.
Prep on.
