Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back to the Changing Earth Podcast with author Sarah F. Hathaway and co-host Chen Gibson. Blending survival, fiction, and fact to bring you entertaining education that will help you dream, survive, and thrive. And now, here's your host, Sarah F. Hathaway and Chin Gibson. Hello, and welcome back to the Changing Earth Podcast. This is episode number 475, season 17, episode 3. Hey, Chin, what's up? 4.75 point. Take three. Take three.
Starting point is 00:00:47 I'm like, Chen, you're having technical issues. Yeah. Hopefully. I'm blaming the drones. I'm telling you, they stole our sound. I don't know what happened, honestly. It was on my end, everybody. I'll take the blame for that one.
Starting point is 00:01:02 That's why we're late today. It could be our last live show, though. So if you're listening live. There you go. There you go. Enjoy. Enjoy. We're late, but we're here.
Starting point is 00:01:16 We're doing our thing. We were here early. Yeah, we were here on time. It's just we're dealing with some technical issues so um yeah it could be our last live show i've been uh trying to figure out what's going on um i know that uh spreaker has some stuff going on that's where we live cast right now. And it's going to be discontinued. I know that Intrepid Commander has found some alternate resources, but I don't know if that's going to be as easy for the team to use.
Starting point is 00:01:54 So I'm just not sure if I want to. I have so much going on. And financially, you know to set up another whole program and everything I'm just not sure that's a that's a move I want to make I would love feedback from you listeners if you really
Starting point is 00:02:17 have it in your heart that you're like hey we want to hear you live we want to be able to give feedback we want to be able to do those things then please hit me up let me know it's worth it otherwise I think we will just go back to our pre-recorded format if i don't have an option because um there's just too many pieces in motion right now and um trying to put another factor into all that would just be uh too much for to handle. I've got to have some family time and whatnot. So, yeah. I think Skype was like the scoring girlfriend,
Starting point is 00:02:52 and it was like throwing curveballs at us today. I know. I know. It really, like I say, put that little wrench in the program. So let's get into Changing Earth's show. Next Sunday is going to be the Christmas show. Now, what that looks like, I don't have any idea, honestly, right now. Like I was explaining a little bit in the beginning,
Starting point is 00:03:24 I just don't know what's happening with the whole platform and everything so hopefully we'll be able to do it just like we're doing now we'll be able to go live one more time but I can't remember the specific date that Spreaker Studio is going to end and I
Starting point is 00:03:40 think it's around the 22nd which is exactly when we're doing the Christmas show. So whether that's, I'll figure it out. I will call Mr. James until he answers the phone and get some answers so we can figure out what's going to happen with that. Because I want to do something special for Christmas. I want to have some giveaways, something like that. I looked into going live on Twitter.
Starting point is 00:04:09 It's just not easy to do. So I don't know. But that is what is happening next Sunday. Tentatively, we're having that Christmas show. I don't know what it looks like, but we'll see what goes on. Even if it's just yuri singing us the night before christmas we're gonna do something um thursday the 26th that's the day after christmas episode 13 of the changing earth audio drama is gonna go live um this is a episode
Starting point is 00:04:41 you don't want to miss so if you do or if you are a paid subscriber, you have access to it right now through your membership program. So go over there and check that out. Otherwise, that one will go live on the 26th. Prepper Camp tickets are on sale now. You don't have to have them shipped to your door. So it's still a good Christmas present to get that you don't have to worry about shipping time on um I still have some Changing Earth series available some of the sets available at a discounted rate that you're never going to see again so if you want to get a hold of the Changing Earth series now is a great time to do it just head on over to my website. You can figure it out. Website is
Starting point is 00:05:25 changingearthsseries.com changingearthsseries.com Alright, so episode 3 of season 3 of the Changing Earth Audio Drama. The Trinity. You thought of some great topics for us for tonight. it's this sneaker episode
Starting point is 00:05:48 it it is it is one of the cool things about this episode is uh they find the uss missouri well they found it last week but yeah they boarded last week right um this is from that show that used to be on history channel life after people they did a whole like episode on if there was disaster and then the uss missouri broke its moorings and then it floated just out in the ocean that the birds would find it and eventually it'd be like this floating tropical island. I was like, oh, yeah, that's cool. Feels like paradise. Yeah, we're using that.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Food. Nobody was on it because it was just a historical ship, you know. So it wasn't manned, that kind of thing. So I thought that would be a fun twist on on the story foraging though urban foraging it's important avenue to think about and i love the the uh your caveats that you had there i went down so many rabbit holes with this because i you know like i listened to the show just get my head in the game and then of course all this drone stuff's going on and then i did a uh search for forging urban forging and
Starting point is 00:07:13 and that video popped up that i shared about uh like escape and evasion in an urban area with uh like a military presence chasing you so that video was well let's just tie this all together yeah so yeah um my the survival instructor that i trained under doug he um basically that's a class we went through and uh so i was actually taking notes on that video i'm like is this what you want to do is this the only thing yeah so that and then right after that i saw another one with like um uh like forest escape innovation so it was like both ends oh got you okay you only sent me the forest one yeah the the forest one is what everybody thinks about right but the um the urban one is probably i mean you could be at work if something happens and you got to figure out how to slink
Starting point is 00:08:14 around the city to get out to get to the suburbs or to get to the rural area where you live so right um we actually did some of that in our survival training as well um uh so even as far as like tracking somebody in an urban environment you don't want to necessarily be on their heels the whole time so they set up like teams of two in different quadrants and then uh we had to like track somebody's movement as they moved around town with just our quadrant right and uh it would be harder to track them in the city in in urban yes it's not like in the woods where there's more physical traces that you could try to key in on right it's It's much more visual, right?
Starting point is 00:09:05 It is. It is because you can't follow footprints. I mean, it's harder. Much harder. You can't just like see them. Like the slug trails, things like that, any kind of clipped branches, that kind of thing. I mean, in an urban environment environment that's not going to happen yeah
Starting point is 00:09:25 and then having like the optional change of clothes was really really um essential for an urban environment like the guy that uh shot the executive the health care executive he had a backpack rented to the park changed, and then biked out. Yeah. And it's really effective. Even if you have a jacket or something that you can flip. So now it's different. Or like those pants that you have, you know, that are the hiking pants.
Starting point is 00:10:00 So you can unzip them. Now you're in shorts. I thought you meant the stripper pants where you just rip them. just blast those things off just rolling with it um actually like that was not a bad idea you could have another pair of pants underneath yeah yep yeah um the one chick that we were tracking she went into the store alone and then she came out in a group of people right because you're looking for you're looking for the pattern right and when the pattern changes you got to rekey yourself to follow that new pattern exactly yeah she had uh changed her clothes and then walked out with a group and And we were like, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Wait, you know, she should be out by now, that kind of thing. And then, yeah, trying to figure that out. So there's lots of cool little tricks that if you're not in that scenario, you don't really think about. Uh-huh. Lockpicking's a good one that you had down there because there's many areas they couldn't get through because the door's locked right so a couple some of these things were uh like escape invasion and some were just like um you might you might want to get water and like the uh they might
Starting point is 00:11:22 have a little locked door over the outside faucet like the landscaping faucet right so you might have a little locked door over the outside faucet, like the landscaping faucet. So you might have to pick the door to get to the faucet to be able to get some water out. Yeah. Because you're not really going to drink out of puddles and streams of water in an urban environment because all the runoffs and oils and just yeah chemicals yes but you know anywhere you could get um water from you know from pipes you know from a plumbing
Starting point is 00:11:54 and if they have like a hot water heater or some kind of a maintenance room that's definitely going to be behind a locked door even if it's accessible from the outside of the building yeah and like if you want if i mean if you need to get through a park or a parking lot or a cemetery or something that what the egg the doorway that you come to might be a locked gate or a locked door that so you don't have to walk all the way around to the public entrance you might sneak through that way you know right yeah it's good it's good um good stuff it's an area i haven't gone to yet just because you know never really felt the need but i know from traveling the urban environments that a lot of times it's not accessible. Another thing is just having like a wrench on you because even if it is accessible,
Starting point is 00:12:47 they probably take the actual knob that turns it on. They take that off when they leave. So if you have a wrench that you can actually turn that with, that gives you at least access to something that you wouldn't have access to. You're more leveraged instead of just trying to turn a knob with your fingers right right um learning the hobo signs is important because if it is a stream or something that's coming through town a lot of times like you say they're they're
Starting point is 00:13:16 contaminated um and so i've heard with talking with a lot of homeless people you know oh hey you know mary sue or whatever she died from drinking that water so that's not something we drink and they'll put those signs up so learning the hobo signs is important because they'll try and warn each other like hey don't drink this water right the vending machine so erica has like the nine-year-old snickers bar And so Erica has like the nine-year-old Snickers bar. Snickers bar, right. But, I mean, in like a national catastrophe, I mean, I'm not saying go break into a vending machine. But even if it's, you could still use money if it's still that far down the line. buy some meal replacement bars and stuff
Starting point is 00:14:04 before you get out of the city just so that if you know you've got to hike 20 miles through suburban and rural areas, it'd be easier to have 10 cereal bars with you to snack along the way
Starting point is 00:14:20 so you don't have to forage the way you like to forage through the woods. Yeah. This isn't have to forge like the way you like to forge through the woods yeah you know just keep because your your thing this isn't going to be a vacation trip this is going to be a goal-oriented you know driven um mission to get from where you are back to where your people are right you know your family or you know yeah you know things just went seriously wrong in our area. I know somebody who I might be able to. Will you ever get there?
Starting point is 00:14:53 I don't know, but it's going to be about the journey because it'll be a difficult trip. Do these little mind experiences because everybody thinks, I've got a bug out bag in my car, I'm good to go. What if your car just got flooded and know and washed down the stream and you can't you know you watched it go down i mean i'm just talking from experience here in you know western north carolina yeah like what if you got all your food there wasn't any dirt for the property that the people owned left so yeah you know they said well you know we live in asheville and we're going to head to the mountains if anything bad happens in asheville and well the, you know, we live in Asheville and we're going to head to the mountains if anything bad happens in Asheville. And well, the mountains, you know, that dirt is not there anymore.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Right. So what's your what are you going to do? So, you know, you might have to think even if you plan for years on how you're going to do it, you might have to think outside the box. So it's good to walk through these experiments once in a while well even wild foraging too like in a flood situation like you guys just had in north carolina you know you don't know if that's been contaminated someplace that flood water just came through and now you're reliant upon what's there in nature to feed you you know i don't know that that's i mean obviously you're gonna do what you gotta do
Starting point is 00:16:06 but also we've introduced a lot of things that you shouldn't be eating you know to this planet and now it just washed over all of your salad basically you know yeah probably not if you're in urban or suburban area and you know you still have to go through rural area and you have the opportunity to snag food on the run, like wrap the food that you could actually put in your backpack or put in your pocket. So take advantage of it. If you have the opportunity for water, clean drinking water, take advantage of it because you don't know when the next opportunity is going to be right absolutely and the clean drinking water is way more important than food it's going to be heavier but it's so much more important than food you can only go three days without water you can go three weeks without food drink a couple bottles yeah you know before you keep you know drink it right away yeah at least you're getting some
Starting point is 00:17:05 some fluid in you yeah and then carry as much as you possibly can you know i would say it's almost more important than ammunition because great that ain't going to keep you alive when you're dehydrated ammo is not going to do anything for you you know so um we're actually working on, you know, being able to have a full loadout system. So then once you have a system like that, um, it takes a lot of weight off of what you actually need in your backpack.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Right. So now you have room for things like gallons of water, which are going to be heavy and hard to carry. So, um, think about that. How much can you put on your person versus what do you need in that actual bag? Because that's what I found is pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:17:53 And James Yeager's book for defense contracting, his loadouts are great in that book i mean you want like a loadout system that they would use to walk through the desert and stay alive and be combat ready but that book is all about that it's not very expensive so um i do highly recommend that one. It's a good resource. But yeah, vending machines. Think about areas where, oh, wow, there's a vending machine there. I wouldn't expect a vending machine to be there. And you see them a lot, like kiosks and stuff. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:18:39 A lot more than even like gas stations and rest areas and all these places that have vending machines now. They don't have like stores and stuff anymore. So think outside the box, like office buildings. A lot of them will have them like off the main lobby and stuff. So libraries have them. Yeah. and stuff so libraries have them yeah all all these places that aren't food places could have yeah you know hotel lobbies and stuff and i guarantee you know that you can have that little the hotels used to have the little business center off to the side of it yep you know the room with
Starting point is 00:19:18 the little plugins and printers and stuff yeah. That they have like snacks available there for you. Yeah. Yep. Yep. And I guarantee you the only people who are thinking about that kind of thing is those people are studied it. And those people that work there. Yeah. They know that the vending machines there,
Starting point is 00:19:36 you know? So I think it's a really good emergency source to have, like in your back pocket, like, Oh, usually a library has it and you can probably pick up good stuff while you're there right so yeah it's really good it was funny i was i was driving down the road one day and you know those those signs on the side of the road that's you know uh whatever construction ahead you know but they usually have a big solar panel
Starting point is 00:20:04 right so you know there's i was always thinking you know if you ever need to recharge yeah i bet there's batteries and stuff in there it's true so yeah you gotta you gotta like think outside of the box mainly because okay we're gonna go to the grocery store to get food well how many other people are going to the grocery store going to the grocery store right, I know where the distribution center is. Well, guess what? So does everybody else. So, you know, if you can find the hole in the wall where you can get hooked up versus the main distribution area. Who's going to go to the ice skating rink, right?
Starting point is 00:20:43 Right. The holiday ice skating rink that probably has refreshments on it. The employees. Everybody's headed to the drugstore, not to the ice skating rink. Yeah, and as time ticks, of course, people start thinking about it. But, you know, if it's an emergency situation and you're in need of food, I'd rather go there than have to face a crowd. You know, go to the ballpark or the sporting center where, you know, they probably have concessions there.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Even like, yeah, like the park, the batting cages, that kind of thing. They usually have water. You know, they might be caged up better because they're outside. Yeah, but that's why it would be good to have a lock pick or some kind of persuasion device. Yeah. Yeah. I got a persuasion device.
Starting point is 00:21:33 All right. Sarah's hands are persuasion. That's right. I got two guns. I carry them all the time. So, yeah, like. So, yeah. Like you said, talk about hands.
Starting point is 00:21:50 You're going to want to, like, if you could pack gloves, you're probably going to want them. There's so many uses for gloves and just to keep yourself from getting cut. Like if they're broken glass or cut metal, you know, jagged metal or picking up something hot.
Starting point is 00:22:08 And like the good ones that have double reinforced leather. Don't skip. Yeah, leather is your friend. Some of these synthetic materials will just melt to you. Yeah. Like Erica with the cellophane wrap in the duct tape. Melted to our skin right yes it happens it really doesn't want that no so my leather work gloves i've had the like the mechanics and stuff but i prefer those leather work gloves and i just buy them whenever i find them on sale i buy them
Starting point is 00:22:42 yeah because they're the best out here on the homestead. Also not a bad idea to buy one of those gloves, at least just one of them, that you can reach in and touch hot stuff. Yeah. And have that in your bag. Because that saves a lot of trouble if you, you know. There's things like, oh, my tin, the handle fell off of it. Now you might get an unnecessary burn just because of poor equipment,
Starting point is 00:23:13 which you're going to have at that time. And it'll either slow you down because you're not as proficient because your hands aren't functioning, or it'll really slow you down because you get sick, right? Right. Yeah, you get an infection now you're done now you're slowing everybody down yeah so the urban movement too like keep in mind that you're only going to be as stealthy and be able to move as quick as your weakest link
Starting point is 00:23:37 so you kind of need to have like everybody on board for that one um the other thing was like fitness level i mean guys the more fit you can get now everything is going to be easier i mean it's just important whether it's destruction coming or not fitness has got to be part of your preparedness plan if you're just out there buying stuff and you're not fit forget all that stuff in a backpack on your back and see how far you can carry it yeah exactly and then try and do it every day you know day after day after day um then try and you know go do a jujitsu class or something and then walk with that thing on your back i I mean, there's so many things. We are just so cushy, right?
Starting point is 00:24:28 That even supply chain disruption, food disruption, where we have to start just really farming it ourself, people getting upset over that, any kind of action. As far as that goes, you're going to need to be physically fit for it. Plus, the more physically fit you are, you can handle those seasons of not having food or, you know, your body having to sustain a little bit more better because your body's prepared for it. So a little fat's a good thing.
Starting point is 00:25:00 I'm not saying, like, you have to be a skinny pole because then you'll have fat to live off of. But you've got to be fit you've got to be able to walk you've got to be able to you need to have that intense you do and it's not about like how much you can bench press or how much weight you can lift that makes no difference at all you've got to be able to go the whole nine yards. And that's what it's all about as far as fitness level goes. So I'd rather see somebody training circuit training over and over again, push that high cardio for, you know, at least an hour a day, and then go from there.
Starting point is 00:25:41 Because if you can't. And hiking, you know, hiking, row hiking rowing biking that kind of stuff for the endurance and once hiking is easy then start throwing weight on your back not too much because you don't want to hurt you don't want to stress your knees and your back uh prematurely but um if you're young go for it you know do everything you can but as get older, you don't want to put any undue stress in your training. That's what I've found. When does your training become a detriment to your body for your long-term sustainability? You have to keep your training within bounds so that you're taking care of your body while training
Starting point is 00:26:18 so that you can still be able to use it if necessary. Fine line there. Trust me. Now that i'm getting older i'm like okay get it i get it yeah so that's all very important um what else we got so tj uh in the story he's getting super frustrated with his trackers, which they pulled the slipperoo on him. You know, they went underground. Then they went out on a boat, which shouldn't be possible. And so that kind of hampered him a little bit, to say the least. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:14 And then, so just as far as, then he finds out that the militia invasion is coming along, infiltrating his southern territory. So they're ultimately about Gray Man. This militia that's thinking of infiltrating TJ's base. Wow. They better be gray manning it up. I mean, you would have to think the Blackshirts have it pretty clamped down in TJ's area. So for them to be able to exist, yeah, and not be seen. The food is what got them, that people are still eating, doing fine,
Starting point is 00:27:51 even though we're trying to penalize them for coming up with low production numbers. That's why I would say if we're in a situation, if you're the type of prepper who's like hey i've got all my stuff i'm all set i'm going to be able to feed my family for days well if they have a food line going you better be in it or else they're gonna know that you have supplies that you're not sharing with the community and maybe government appropriated right so uh you better be in those lines and you better have baggy clothes, like especially ladies and stuff. Like you better have baggy clothes that can make it look like,
Starting point is 00:28:35 or either they can't see, you know, how your health, how, how healthy you are underneath those clothes. Or normally you wore tight jeans, and now your tight jeans look like they're getting very loose on you. Because that's a dead giveaway.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Dead giveaway. If everybody else is losing 10, 15 pounds, and you're not losing anything, you might as well put on a neon flag. Am I losing you, Chan? Can you still hear me? You might as well put out a neon flag. Am I losing you, Chan? Can you still hear me? Yeah, no, it's coming in and out.
Starting point is 00:29:10 I hear you right now. Okay. Yeah, we're just loving it tonight. It's going very well. Yeah, it's going very good. We kind of touched on the situational awareness one of the things that because i i study the tracking and um evasion so much i love that kind of stuff i was actually pretty proud of how well my characters did in my book after in that video um right but crossing like roadways and whatnot um yeah really dangerous try to pick corners not straightaways and that was which made a lot of sense right yeah and especially urban
Starting point is 00:29:59 applying that to an urban setting i mean because if they if they if you're if the person chasing you can see for a long distance then the chances of you getting caught are greater right but if you could pick your spot to to cross an open area to where it's like a struck like blind corners and stuff then it limits the amount of time that you're exposed to somebody else seeing you. I've loved that. I make complete sense. Cause we've like stacked up before,
Starting point is 00:30:35 you know, you put the tallest person in front and everybody walks behind. Yeah. Yep. And the bullet magnet, huh? I see how you are. In this case, the tallest person goes
Starting point is 00:30:46 in front because everybody else can be hidden behind them yeah right i like that concept uh-huh whereas if you know a short person came up with that idea well when you stack up to go into a building the short one goes in front so everybody can shoot over the top it makes more sense it does but i was like wait a minute that doesn't sound like a good idea how did i get stuck in front yeah no it does make sense um but i i wasn't overly thrilled because typically i am the smallest one in the group but when you're trying to like conceal how many are in your group, if you put the tall person in front, everybody can walk behind the tall person. Now it just looks like one person.
Starting point is 00:31:36 And that was pretty cool. We'd done that in our survival training before with road crossing specifically so that it looks like, okay okay this is just one person crossing the road i don't know how it would look if like you were you know you have to side shuffle or something yeah it's all about the angles right yeah you gotta get that angle just right you do you gotta get that angle just right but it is an idea you know so yeah um the other thing that i really picked up was the v shapes so that's going to apply in an urban setting as well the head like of course faces are so obvious um the head usually want to mound it off that's why the bucket boonie hats are
Starting point is 00:32:19 so popular a net off the boonie hat because it mounds out your head so it's not a head shape. But I never really thought about the upside down V's. And that was really, really okay. Yep. So you don't want to have them seeing your armpit area between your legs, you know,
Starting point is 00:32:41 that all shows as unnatural. Oh, yeah. That's why you can pick somebody out um in an urban area don't be in your camos i mean you're just a giant target don't be in your camos don't be looking like you're an off-duty police officer or off-duty military. I'm telling you, when I'm out shopping and whatnot, I can tell you. I'm like, that dude's a cop, off-duty. That guy was former military. Because they're like posted up watching their wife shop or whatever.
Starting point is 00:33:23 I'm like, guys, can you get more eyes? You know? So it's just something. I don't know. I see it now because I hang out with a lot of people who are former military and police officers and stuff. And just knowing like their body language. That was going to be the hardest for them to overcome though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Because it's training. It's all second nature, yeah. Right. That's why I say, like, you got to sit down or something, like, relax, because it is obvious. Wearing, I wear a lot of them. I love the pants that are the, you know, they're like cop pants. I can't remember the brand of them specifically right now but the cargo pockets you know all your hooks and everything um they're really really
Starting point is 00:34:11 efficient don't be wearing that when you're in an urban setting don't be wearing your back your um pack your belt that has all of your mole bags and stuff on it i I mean, it might be the best way to carry that stuff, but not in an urban environment, unless you have something covering it so people can't see. And then you'll just look fat or something. I don't know, but it wouldn't really matter. But I guess that could be obvious too, right? That's the time to throw it all in your backpack
Starting point is 00:34:40 and wait till you're out of that urban setting. backpack and wait till you're out of that urban setting uh because there's all kinds of predators and there's urban predators and if they see you looking like you're ready to go and they know their environment just like you know uh-huh the uh the rural hunter knows his environment right he knows the forest and he knows the sounds and the smells. And it's the same thing with the guys that work the streets, right? Absolutely. Yeah. They know exactly what they're hunting for and exactly what.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Yeah. So don't be thinking like, oh, well, I just have to make it through, you know, this far of the city till I'm in a rural environment. And then we're going out, you know, to go here or there, whatever. Don't, don't be looking like that when you're going through the urban part. Look like you don't have anything they want. Maybe a garbage bag, you know, like put everything in a garbage bag. You could have a backpack, a little backpack with a garbage bag um you could have a backpack a little backpack with a garbage bag and maybe they would think oh that's just bedding or something in there you know
Starting point is 00:35:50 but uh also urban traversing um groups so from what i from my what my research tells me you know you don't really want to travel in packs of all males because you look very threatening you don't want to travel in packs of all females for obvious reasons so really doing like the guy girl blend is the best group that you can walk safely through an area at least here in the united states because you know some people won't mess with the guys because they have girls with them or whatever they won't mess with the guys because they have girls with them or whatever. They won't mess with the girls because they have guys with them, that kind of thing. So, um, if you can do like a mixed group, that's the best. 13 is ideal team, uh, to, you know, have 13 people walking together, the bigger, you know, strength in numbers. the bigger strength in numbers.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Saw that. Stuff I haven't even been over to our chat room. Yeah, I was there a couple times. I'm all thrown off today. Yeah. So if you guys have more questions about it, please let me know. I can always include it in the show notes or of course I answer emails and that pretty quickly. So if you have any more questions there, I'll link over some of our past articles cause we've done a lot of urban
Starting point is 00:37:16 evasion with some different professionals. Lots of gray man stuff on the show um size is tough so um chin you're a tall guy i'm a small woman it's harder for us to be like the gray man um because people are like i don't know it was that tall guy i don't know it was that small chick right so um sometimes we try to blend in with the whole attire, everything. Yeah. So you're not like, don't wear a red shirt and a red ball cap because it just screams attention. Right.
Starting point is 00:37:54 Right. So, um, try to blend in with whatever the, yeah, no, whatever the attire is for where you're going through, try to blend in with that and try to pick as blunt, muted color scheme as possible, too. Not, you know, sharp, vivid pattern. A shirt that says, hey, jump me. I have good stuff. And survival knowledge.
Starting point is 00:38:26 Right? Absolutely. Let's see. And then Virgis, so just to finish out the episode, he is trying to work around this blackmail scheme because he's been with Cassidy, so they're trying to use that against him. And he's doing more of the wilderness evasion right now. Because the assassins are trying to just put him out.
Starting point is 00:38:53 So they don't have to deal with him anymore. So that's definitely more of your woodland evasion. Not hesitating when you know your life's on the line. That's not a moment to hesitate with any decisions that you're making. You just got to go, go, go, go, go. And that's one of the things that he opened it up with on the evasion video was, you know, get the F out of dodge as fast as you can at that point. And I love that because, again, we're in whatever your fitness level is,
Starting point is 00:39:23 that's going to allow you how far, how fast you can move and get the heck out of there before people come looking for you. So it gives you the head start on them. And then we talked last week a lot about going over fences, using water to the advantage. No, I said, yeah, going over fences and water. Yeah, it helps. Agreeing with you. Yeah, I know. I told you I'm all thrown off tonight because of the Skype thing.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Last live show, and we had, you know, we'll just go out with some technical difficulties. We were fighting with that for 30, 40 minutes, just trying to get on the air. We were. I don't know, man. I still don't have an explanation for it, but it worked. So, hey, away we go. When you don't have any more answers, the illogical becomes logical and solves the problem. So that's what we got.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Sarah was laughing at me because I couldn't hear her, but she could hear all the cussing I was doing. Yeah. I made for a very colorful recording. I did delete that one, you know. I got to protect my co-host there. Yeah. Alrighty.
Starting point is 00:40:44 So yeah, that about covers episode three as pretty cool um episode like i say because of the uss missouri pretty neat um it is sad because of daniel um he's really sick he's not covering quite the way everybody else did so that's kind of the mystery that's unfolding there and um you know tj not getting in his own ways he's all in frustration land that's always good to see so you know i've been studying um long time about human trafficking. And I just, every day that I think about it, I'm just blown away by the amount of slavery that exists inside the United States borders. I just pray to the Lord that one day that doesn't exist
Starting point is 00:41:43 and that we can understand that people are people and don't deserve to be treated that way. So if TJ's evilness illustrates that point enough that we can get awareness raised up and really fight this fight against the slavery, the slavery because I guarantee however horrible people think that TJ is he is absolutely completely tame to what really exists in our world and so if he makes you uncomfortable that's good and you should be a lot more uncomfortable about what's actually going on in the United States of America and around the world we're not like immune to this problem it's not like oh america is so good oh there's no way that exists now it does and it's really really sick there are some things that you once you go down the rabbit hole you'll never be able to unsee and uh you'll never be able to really forgive these people for doing it because it's really horrific stuff.
Starting point is 00:42:48 So you guys know it. If you talk about it, if you share it, and if you we have to just keep it on the table and keep the conversation open. So that's the only way we can fight it. If nobody wants to talk about it and nobody wants to acknowledge it, then it's allowed to grow and exist because we pretend it's not there. Sunlight sanitizer. Right. Yeah. I had a real eye opener this week that blasted my brain into oblivion.
Starting point is 00:43:19 And, uh, you guys, it's a big problem. So stay on it. Stay on the mission and tj's doing his job because he's bringing forth the message it's true because people saw i get that feedback you know wow tj is pretty and i'm like yeah well he's not compared to what really exists so already on that note why don't we get into some changing earth news it's not all bad for the changing earth news so that's a good thing we got we got blue skies ahead of us as long as we all focus and try to try to bring forth good in this world
Starting point is 00:44:03 all right here we go. Change of Earth News. Food storage and preservation are at the heart of self-reliance. Our sponsor, PacFresh USA features made-in-America products. I shop PacFreshUSA.com for Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers for my home food storage. But they do all kinds of products. Go to PacFreshUSA.com and check out their Prepper University and order their box set of Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers. It's a 7 mil 100 pack of
Starting point is 00:44:33 Mylar bags, oxygen absorbers, labels, and even a food storage guide. dream survive thrive this is changing earth news all righty so it's a minor activity with a filament release this morning. Shouldn't be too bad. It was on the departing limb. But whenever that happens, we do get some energy from it. So we will be on the lookout kind of monitoring that situation. But it wasn't a direct hit. Those filaments can be huge. That release off the sun.
Starting point is 00:45:21 I mean, if we were in the wrong place at the wrong time, that would really do the earth over. We had lots of Arctic air diving south and not just in North America. It also impacted Europe as well. So these crazy little weather patterns that are coming around. If you look at the jet streams they're just in a frenzy right now i don't know what well i do know what's going on but um it's going to be interesting as it continues to go okay so typically when we talk about earthquake numbers is like a big day, right? On Monday the 9th, 2024, we had 629 earthquakes
Starting point is 00:46:12 that were 2.0 or bigger. Yeah. It has been a crazy seismic couple of weeks, actually. Really ramped up with the earthquake we had in California the week before that. There was a 6.4 that hit Alaska's Aleutian Trench. So it impacted the Aleutian Islands out there. No tsunami warnings or risks from the event. Still a big old earthquake. There was a 5.6
Starting point is 00:46:46 that hit Concheguawa, El Salvador. Sorry, I've probably slaughtered the heck out of that. Concheguawa. Yeah. So big earthquake day. Mandeville,
Starting point is 00:47:02 Louisiana was hit with flash floodings due to heavy rain there java and indonesia they had flash flooding event it did a lot of devastation landslides floods just not a good day on java powerful snowstorm hit Spain. Banasque was buried in snow. I'm sure I just slaughtered that name as well because it's supposed to be Spanish as well. But they were just buried in snow. Big storm. And that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:47:36 These Arctic blasts have just been dipping really far south, more so than they normally do. We already had a frost morning here in texas which is crazy yeah we've had we've had um in the 20s so yeah cool usually that doesn't happen until like february january you know at least so um 12 10 24 501 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger. Biggest was a 5.8 in the Alaska Aleutian Islands. Again, there was a 5.5 earthquake that hit Nevada. Big one. They felt it all the way to Sacramento in California.
Starting point is 00:48:18 Um, and I do sell insurance in Nevada. And right now we're on a moratorium for any earthquake policies there. They put that in effect. It'll go out for like a month. If no other earthquake activity happens, then they'll pull that. But if not, that stays in effect. So big deal there. That was a big quake.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Sweden was hit by a massive snowstorm. So that's just the storm system moving across Europe. And Shandong, China was impacted by a massive snowstorm as well. On Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, 431 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger, still up there in the numbers. 5.4 in the Solomon Islands islands was our biggest and we watched the earthquake activity travel from the west coast around the north american craton and into the new madrid seismic zone where we had several small earthquakes that impacted like western tennessee right at the corner there where all those states come together.
Starting point is 00:49:25 So that's like what, eastern Alabama, that kind of stuff. So lots of earthquakes going around the New Madrid zone. As I've been saying for weeks now, I'm just really, really at high alert on what this is doing right now because the whole ring of fire is being so impacted. It just doesn't make sense that we're not feeling the same type of activity. On that note, the Kailuan volcano in the Philippines erupted. Thousands were evacuated. The local town was just covered in ash. So that's a volcano hasn't erupted for a little while big volcano threw out some ash luckily the eruption wasn't a long duration event but it still
Starting point is 00:50:13 had a big impact for the little bit of time that it was active december 12 2024 474 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger biggest of which was a 5.5 in the south pacific ocean malibu uh in california the wildfire activity picked up again earlier in the week um they were just getting it under control on thursday trying to get that on into a containment state but in the meantime it threatened the college campus threatened the malibu mansions you know there's some big homes down there so um all that activity was happening on december 13th of 2024 there was 436 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger biggest of which was a 6.4 in Carrico, Chile. There was earthquake swarms that shook Mammoth Mountain for over 12 hours. So Mammoth Mountain is on the California and Nevada border. It is a great big mountain. The Long Valley Caldera that I talk about a lot is a super volcano that sits right
Starting point is 00:51:26 below Mammoth Mountain. And so there is a lot of big seismic risk right there. So to see that shaking for over 12 hours with earthquake swarms is a pretty big deal. Definitely keeping eyes on this week. And probably for, you know, I don't know i i just have this feeling that it's coming to that area pretty quickly wisconsin to rhode island was pummeled by a winter storm we got another uh what do they call them a bomb cyclone and uh hit just tore through the Midwest again. And then the real cyclones, like on Cheeto, hit northern Madagascar. So this is a Cheeto. I just got that right now. This is a great big, big, basically a hurricane.
Starting point is 00:52:18 They just call them cyclones because they spin in the opposite direction of a hurricane. And raced across the indian ocean hit northern madagascar and then coming into today actually it is impacting africa um it's hitting mozambique and mayate, 14 people are confirmed dead already from that landfall happening. So that is, it's a big storm. And last year we watched one of those storms just bounce in between Africa and Madagascar
Starting point is 00:52:57 as it went down. So hopefully Chito doesn't do that, but it's definitely eyes on that storm because it's still happening as we speak. December 14th, 2024, 372 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger, finally below the 400 mark again, biggest of which was a 5.3 in the Maluka Sea by Indonesia. The Bay Area in California had a big storm. Stranded motorists in Livermore, California, but they had their first tornado warning go up in San
Starting point is 00:53:34 Francisco ever. Okay, first time in history, recorded history. It's never happened before. They did not have a tornado touchdown. However, they did have a tornado touchdown in Santa Cruz County in Scotts Valley. So absolutely insane. Tornadoes coming off the ocean on the Pacific side. Are they sharknadoes? I mean, no, but like there's mountains and it, well, last year we saw tornadoes on top of mountains. Hey, let's have a hurricane in the middle of the mountains. Right?
Starting point is 00:54:13 Yeah. I mean, it's just what you think can and can't happen. That, that doesn't exist on the changing earth. That's it. The whole game board is just being redrawn right now it is it really is like oh that never happens here well it's happening now um today december 15th i finished this up at about two o'clock this afternoon, so it's been quite a while. We could go over and check the earthquake map, but we were at 375 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger already at 2 o'clock,
Starting point is 00:54:55 and the biggest of which was a 5.9 in the South Pacific Ocean near Tonga. Whenever I see Tonga on there, I get concerned because usually Tonga, it's way down south by New Zealand and all everything down there. And whenever we get a big heartbeat there, a big earthquake that happens there, it goes up around the ring of fire. And so that's eventually what hits the West Coast, California. That's eventually what funnels into um the new madrid it also goes out the other direction so it's like this energy that really stems forth and it seems to hit there first so that's why whenever i see that big of a quake at tonga kind of the spider
Starting point is 00:55:40 senses go up and i was like all right well now in the next couple of weeks, we're going to watch that energy blast around the globe. We talked about the cyclone making landfall. British Columbia also got hit by a powerful windstorm. There was big winds coming in off the Pacific, even on Friday. At least one person has been confirmed dead today from that storm. So prayers to everybody involved in these incidents.
Starting point is 00:56:12 It's just the change in Earth and it's going to be a wild ride. Yeah. Alright, so let's talk volcano numbers. So our eruptinging we went up again to 38 volcanoes erupting which is just crazy sauce uh that's the technical term by the way um i'm trying to look back i think we were up to 39 at one point weren't we because we might be up the highest I mean 38 is
Starting point is 00:56:47 a lot 37 I'm looking back we were at like 36 it's just amazing to see it over 38 I thought we were up to 39 at one point though I'd have to check my old notebook. I haven't been keeping as good a track with my spreadsheet as I should have, but you know, I have so much time in the day. So 38 is definitely up one from last week. It is definitely, it's crazy. Like, I know you guys probably think I'm just the biggest weirdo, but we just don't see numbers like this on planet Earth. And I can't believe that nobody is talking about how many volcanoes are actually erupting on our planet right now. And then they're like, well, we don't understand why we're having so much more rain and cloud cover. Well, this is what's happening. We're
Starting point is 00:57:41 also up one on volcano showing minor activity we're down one on unrest but overall we added another one to the list we're at 97 volcanoes showing activity on our planet right now which is good if we cross that hundred number now i'm gonna dance a jig or something because i mean i don't know maybe not a jig yeah stop right oh my goodness i guess we need to find you a new hobby sir i just can't believe it like okay so way back when i used to watch one other gentleman's channel and he used to talk a lot about the how many volcanoes were erupting and he was like there's 28 volcanoes erupting and i'm like well is that a big deal he's like yeah it's a big deal you know that's so unusual compared to what's normally happening
Starting point is 00:58:32 and i was like okay i gotta i gotta start tracking this myself and figure out what's normal here and we stuck at those 20s for years it's only been this year that we've seen them climb up into the 30s, now to 38. I mean, if we go to 40, I mean, I don't know. That would just... So it's just breathtaking. I don't know. The other thing that's really weird is that everywhere around the Ring of Fire
Starting point is 00:59:02 is erupting, but not North America. We got all kinds of volcanoes on our western coast as well, but none of those are erupting. California's doing something right. I mean, yeah, I guess. Because Central America, Guatemala, Ecuador, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. They're all erupting. Now Philippines, Russia, everybody down.
Starting point is 00:59:29 The only other place that I saw that was kind of similar is it's erupting all around the Indian Ocean as well, but not in southern India. So that's like another area where it's like all of this activity is happening, but not there. So I wonder what, I'm just curious what's up with that. If you're a geologist and you have any thoughts, I would love to hear your theories. That'd be great. Point me in the direction of a channel I need to watch. I would love it.
Starting point is 00:59:59 Wildfire preparedness level. Now, remember last week we were at zero. That was pretty impressive. I was like, zero? We never see zero. Well, we're not at zero anymore. We have five new large wildfires, a total of 5,664 acres on fire. Three of those fires are contained. Number one is California. That is the brand new fire that lit up by Malibu. They had those severe winds and the Santa Ana's was pushing those fires. The Santa Ana winds.
Starting point is 01:00:35 So they have one new fire, 4,037 acres. This is not contained, although they are making some really good progress on it. Number two on the list is Virginia, which like you guys are getting snow and stuff. Yeah! Virginia. One new fire. 1,627 acres on fire. That fire is not contained at this time. And then number three on the list, and you're
Starting point is 01:00:58 going to laugh, is North Carolina. Three new fires. Zero acres. How is that even possible? all the fires are contained so maybe that's why it's so cold everybody's got their you know their chimneys their fireplaces that's true a little bit of activity maybe it's like somebody who's like still living in a tent and they're like oh it's a wildfire no it's not that's crazy right so i don't know but it must have been reported but put out right away you know what i mean that's what i'm thinking yeah because usually on the site that i look at they only report like the big fires they're not
Starting point is 01:01:43 worried about reporting the little ones. And they'll combine them into like bigger fires. So, here I'll put my link up in the chat box for whoever wants to check that out in the
Starting point is 01:02:00 future. Yeah, I thought you put the Grand Sum link up. I'll put that up. And I also put up the volcano areas since you know, I don't know what the future holds here. I'm kind of on a wire, so let's
Starting point is 01:02:15 go ahead and give you guys info to make informed decisions. Is the future so bright you gotta wear shades? There you go.
