Urban Survival Simulation
This is Gotham Get Out
It's the morning of, yes it's the morning of Gotham Get Out
What's happening everybody, Ben the Breaker of Banksters here.
Feeling pretty good. We'll see how I'm feeling in about 24 to 30 hours
without sleep after about 8 plus miles of hiking
through some cold weather, trying to scrounge some
some material, trying to survive
some urban survival. So make this uh real quick just a few minutes
i'm about ready to leave my house it's about 25 degrees and windy right now uh pretty cold snowed
a few inches overnight looks like the weather report today should be uh just above freezing
this won't melt though overnight luckily when we're actually out in
the field it will uh the wind will die down go from about 15 mile an hour to five mile an hour
that'll be a godsend it'll drop to about 22 degrees overnight at the low but uh with with
no wind and no rain or snow knock on wood except for what's on the ground, it won't be that bad, I don't think so,
we'll find out, quick background, I was born and raised in Colorado, so I'm pretty well versed in
the snow and cold, but I'll say this, you don't ever really get used to the freezing cold,
and also I've kind of become soft in my older years, You know, when you're 12, 14, 16 years old, you go snowboarding, you play football in the snow,
you're waiting out in the freaking bus stop at 6.30 in the morning.
You know, 22 degrees doesn't sound that bad.
But me, well, I've become a little domesticated and soft.
So that's why we're doing this exercise.
So what's the story behind it all?
Well, we don't have an all-encompassing story of what happened
while we're bugging out but in my mind and i'll kind of try to play along with that both on the
on here on these daily audio caches but also uh for my own purposes kind of what i'm going through
i'm pretending that i got stuck in a city and i need to get about 20 miles away now we're not
going to do a full 20 mile hike,
of course, but this is kind of a two part thing we're doing here. Um, let's say, you know, I,
I already live in my bug out place pretty much. Um, but I go to work into an urban center,
maybe go to a movie, maybe, Hey, you know, I bring my everyday carry and some of my preps,
but for some reason,
I'm not able to get to them in my vehicle, maybe there was a riot, maybe there was some sort of commotion, maybe terror attack, who knows, I'm not able to get to my preps, all I have is a multi-tool
and a 16 ounce bottle of water and my wits, now, we're starting off with a base layer,
nothing too thick, but we're not literally going out there
in like t-shirt and shorts i got double socks with good boots i have regular old boxer briefs
and regular old kind of like work pants no long long johns or nothing like that and then on the
top i have kind of a long sleeve turtleneck andleneck. And that's all I'm going to have there.
But a key part of this whole experience will be going to the thrift shop.
That's kind of our first part of our task.
We get $25 to buy anything we want.
I'll tell you what.
I'm going to be buying a few upper layers to start.
I'm going to be buying at least one long sleeve shirt And at least A hat
Some sort of hat
So keep your head warm
Keep your feet warm
Keep your upper body warm is my plan
It's good to have gloves, you don't need gloves
In my opinion
You need a hat more than gloves
For what we're doing
Gloves are great, gloves are awesome
You can stick your hands in your armpits and walk if you need to.
A hat? You need a hat.
You need a hat, you need some upper body,
and you really need some boots
and good socks, which luckily we have.
We'll see what we find
in the thrift store. $25
isn't much, but I think I can
find a couple nice long
sleeves, another turtleneck maybe
for like $10, $15. Maybe find a windbreaker long sleeves another turtleneck maybe for like 10 15 bucks maybe find a windbreaker
for another 10 bucks so that's that part the rest of it well it kind of comes down to a few things
pathfinding scavenging slash looting we're not actually gonna loot anything we have a and i
won't go too deep into you can You can go listen to Dave Jones.
He has a little bit more of what's going on.
But, you know, we're pretty much trying to get places and not be seen and scavenge along the way.
And hopefully, once we all link up, we'll be able to maybe build a fire, maybe huddle together in warmth and freeze
until NBC guy comes and gets us the next day.
We'll see.
I'm feeling pretty good right now.
I gave myself a 7, 7.5 out of 10,
maybe even an 8 out of 10, a lot of energy.
No food since sundown yesterday, only water.
No caffeine today, no food today. When we're on our trek if we find food
we're allowed to eat it but uh it'll be about a 24 hour fast um once we kick off at 6 p.m
which is about eight hours from now and i'll be fine with that. I usually, you know, I'm pretty used to fasting 16, 18, 20 hours.
I don't really go more than a day though.
I'm a pretty big boy, so it's kind of hard.
So we'll see how that affects.
But I'm hoping like the adrenaline rush of everything will carry me through the day.
I'm sure by like this time tomorrow, if I haven't eaten yet, I'll be hurting.
But I don't think the fasting part will be too bad.
I don't think the cold will be too bad.
Lack of sleep could be kind of tough for me.
I'm not the best at lack of sleep.
So I got a lot of sleep last night.
Haven't eaten.
And I'm only drinking water.
No coffee.
I will say this.
I was already going through some withdrawals on coffee.
About five or six times today.
I've been like, oh man, I could use some hot coffee.
It's one of the only crutches I have in my life, but it's a crutch.
Every morning, I can get up from work and do whatever as long as I have some coffee.
No coffee today, but I'm feeling pretty good.
That's enough rambling.
I'm going to get everything situated and head out here pretty soon.
you waited and uh head out here pretty soon um yeah my number one tip to you guys for this audio cash quit as many vices as you can because when stuff hits the fan and you don't have
whatever your vice is whether it's cigarettes alcohol tobacco freaking freaking chewing tobacco, fast food, I don't know, any of that crap.
Even just a warm bed and sleep, that's my weakness.
All right, guys, I'm going to get ready.
Drop that.
We'll be right back, and I'll probably do mine in a couple hours when I link up with the guys.
Gotham Get Out, the morning of.
Catch you later.
