Some nights better than others, but for the most part, by 9 o'clock p.m., I'm really waning.

Not refined, very raw, all part of an anthology that I've been putting together
probably over the last six months called Poems for Men.
And that's exactly what the book is.

this moment in history and it happening at this moment in my life,
there's just so much, you know, to think about and to talk about and to write about.
I've been considering even a sub stack.
Seeing all these people doing sub stack,
I think to myself, man,
I have been a writer for some time.
But what can I expect of my fan base?

That's my whole issue.
It's like how many things can a man do
and expect people to follow him and to watch him
the whole time? You know what I mean? It's like pod five, I do like five podcasts a week now,
five podcasts a week, two to three Instagrams a week, you know, membership content. I write
books, I make videos. Now I'm going to do a sub stack and tell you to come over there and read that too.
I have newsletter, the whole thing.
It gets to the point where I start thinking the only people who can really keep up with me are the people who only listen to what we do here.
So, you know, I've got to have some sympathy for the audience.

I grabbed a bunch of things because I thought to talk about the nation, we have to talk about numerous things, right? One thing that's really got me sort of confused, if nothing else, is, well, I mean, this is a symptom of a much larger problem, and it is the narrative of the nation right now, which is why I titled this one, What of a Nation Like This?

nation like ours? What of a nation like this? The media would have you believe right now one of the most interesting stories, not that the story itself is interesting, it's war,
but the delivery, right? We're hearing everywhere about Ukraine's daring invasion. And the way that the news has presented this,
you would assume that, you know, the Ukrainians have, though they were unable,
completely and totally unable to protect their own nation from Russia's invasion,
and Russia has swallowed up great swaths of land.

And I guess I'll bring up Drudge real quick, which is a compromised website.
I mean, I remember when it was becoming a compromised website, but now it is completely a compromised website.
It's broken, and it serves only as a place to go see broken things.
Where's our buddies in Ukraine who have turned the tide of the war and are now moments, just days away from taking Moscow?
I mean, look, maybe it's just me.
Maybe it's just how I read the headlines, but I'm telling you right now, I read these headlines.
Ukraine pounds Russia with drones and says it is advancing deeper.
Blow up air bases.
They seize more land in a week than Putin managed in eight months.

You read a headline like that, which is incredibly misleading.
And you say to yourself, what's going on?
The Ukrainian blitz has lasted just a week, but already they've taken over dozens of villages and a huge slice of territory.
As much as 400,000 square miles.
You know, the thing that I read this morning that made me most nervous was the following
Vlad pulls soldiers out in humiliating retreat
Now, I don't know about you
But the pulling out of soldiers in the middle of a war
And that being Russia
Doesn't sound like a retreat to me in the middle of a war, and that being Russia,
doesn't sound like a retreat to me.
In fact, it makes me very scared that he's pulling those soldiers out to do something much worse.
In other words, you can't shoot tactical nuclear weapons
into a place where your soldiers are.
I mean, you can, but pretty rough.
Anyway, you get a look at this map,
and you see that the landmass,
the zoomed-out landmass, including Crimea
and the massive swath of the eastern portion of Ukraine
that has been militarily controlled by Russia,
is exponentially larger than this little grain of sand that Ukraine has spent
I don't know how much resources on.
And it's northeast of everything that's happening, northeast of all the, you know, controlled
land that I imagine should be the priority to get back if we're fighting a war
to get this land back from Russia. I don't know. This is one example. You have to look at the link.
If you don't have the link, sorry. I don't know what to tell you. But the reason the link is so important is because the map is so important.
This is not a matter of rooting for Russia.

It's a matter of looking at what the American people are being told is happening before their very eyes and going, is this real?
Like, what is actually happening?

Twenty four news outlets just demolishing nothing good.

I mean, 24 different news outlets skewering or talking about someone skewering.

Even the BRICS nations take notice.
This is one of those rare times when our enemies come out and say, you know, they say, look at this mess that America has become,
at least the American media. For a long time, we've said, thanks to Joe Biden, our enemies
are watching. We've said it. You know what I mean? Our enemies are watching. Our enemies
are paying attention. Of course, people say, well, no, they're not. Joe Biden's more than sufficient to run the nation. Yeah, sure,
sure, whatever. You know, I'm going to start selling magic beans, and maybe they'll sell.
But we find ourselves in this situation where the media is a laughingstock,
but a bunch of people still get their news from there,
and we're all waiting here with bated breath to figure out
what if Kamala Harris actually wins the election because of the fact that the media is 100%
biased against Donald Trump. There's not even a 1%. There's not even a 0.5%. You've never seen
anything like this. Everyone, including the left wing, should be writing these people and telling them they're doing a horrible job at coverage.
Just Donald Trump's talk about border security is enough that the average American should say, well, at least if nothing else, if nothing else a news network could say,
Donald Trump has a plan to fix things at the border and to deport people who would like to rape and kill your daughter under a bridge.
We can't even admit that?
See, I guess what's most important and what makes me most nervous about all of this is these are our threat indicators.
Do you know what I mean? Like a lot of times we use the
media to understand how things are going. Like what's my neighborhood like? What's my town like?
What's my city like? What's it all about? I got to give credit where credit's due. I was listening to WRVA this morning,
and I was listening to a young man talk. I don't know who he was,
and I'm not going to find his name. I'm sure he doesn't care as much as long as I give you the
website. It's called newtolerance.org, and newtolerance.org has something very interesting
that you probably won't find anywhere else, but I'd highly recommend you take a look at it.
NewTolerance.org has a hate map.
Yeah, it's called a hate map.
The New Tolerance Campaign, except what it does is it tracks hate and hard left extremism in the United States.
It says our work is designed to be used as a resource to the media, civil servants, and
the general public.
There are 189 organizations slash individuals currently listed on this map, and I assure
you, if you find your city or state, you're going to learn something about it.
Why are you going to learn something about it. Why are you going to learn something about it?
Because these things don't get reported,
or they get reported in and out,
or they get reported partially.
So, you know, let's see.
Where should we go?

Well, let's go to Texas since Garden Girl is with us.
So the hate map lists Dallas, Texas, Imam Omar Suleiman,
the head of the Texas chapter of American Muslims for Palestine.
Suleiman is known for his long history of anti-Semitic comments, his support of the
Muslim Brotherhood.
He's denied that Hamas uses civilians as human shields during a 2012 election, prayed for
the humiliation of Israel and the Jews who support it, stating, we ask Allah to humiliate
this Israel and the way that Allah humiliated Benny Israel.
We ask Allah to humiliate those who occupy the land of the Philistine or the Palestinian.
And after the October 7th terror attack, Suleiman equated the phrase, I stand with Israel with a blank check for genocide.
So this is one example of an individual that shows up on the new tolerance.org hate map.
There's a lot. The West Coast is dominated by it. Here's a really interesting one, okay?

But the kids are far from all right.
What is with this with the obsession with the children?
The obsession with the children.
Like no generation of children has ever faced this struggle, right? The data released last week showed a 2% decrease from 21 to 23 in high school students reporting
they felt sad or hopeless. The total dropped from 42% to 40% of students who reported having
feelings, marking, having these feelings, marking the first time. The annual youth risk behavior
survey didn't report an increase in over a decade.
But mental health and behavioral health experts aren't celebrating the victory just yet.
This is because reported rates of kids feeling sad or hopeless remains high.

Do you feel sad?
How did you feel as a kid? I felt sad every morning because I had to
go to school. It's fucking the worst. I mean, you want to talk about depression. Like waking up
at 6.30 or whatever it was, I had to get up and being like, oh, I got to go sit on this bus with
these idiots. I got to go sit in a school with these idiots.
There's like five people in the school I really want to see.
I think a lot of this, to be honest,
my honest take,
people need to get in little fun note-passing,
hand-holding, kissing relationships.
I'm serious.
I think a lot of it has to do with that.
I don't know what the numbers are.
I'd love to know, like, the stats on middle school and high school kids, like, having fun dating.
Not like dating, you know what I mean?
But remember, like, what going out used to be like?
You didn't really go anywhere.
You didn't even hardly see people outside of school but you passed like love letters and you you know saw you kissed each other in like
between classes it was dumb but it was fun and it it i don't know if you have not nothing
and then you had friends and you went out and you went to the malls, and you did things, and you like, I'd spend the whole week daydreaming about a t-shirt, you know what I mean, work,
go to school, go to work, 13 years old, I was working, I'd go to school, I'd go to work,
I'd be washing dishes, I'd be thinking about a t-shirt, like, oh, I'm gonna get that t-shirt
from Hot Topic, it's gonna be the shit, and that would like, that would dominate it like all the sort of mental health
now again i wasn't staring into the mirror mirror on the wall 24 7 watching people do things that
that i don't even remotely care about you know that's the weird thing about the tiktok and the
and the youtube shorts like the fundamental weirdest thing about those
is for the first time in human history,
we're willingly watching things that other people
or that a program,
we're watching things that we don't even agree to watch.
Like when you watch your kid watch TikTok
or watch like a YouTube short scroll session,
you realize for the first time ever, you're watching things that a program wants you to watch.
In other words, you're not, you don't search for something when you get into one of these scroll sessions.
You know what I mean? Like you're not, you're not not like i want to just watch everything i can about 9-11 and what happened and behind the scenes and go deep i want to watch this
band i want to watch how to look like it's literally just curated right it's like it for you
for you stuff and it's so crazy and so weird to live in that sort of world and to exist in a frame where this stuff is put in front of you for various reasons.
And that's a way that people spend their time.
You know what I mean?
I could just scroll through.
Okay.

All right.
I guess that has something to do with it.
What do I want to watch today, YouTube? Tell me.
I don't know if that's fundamentally it.
I think it's probably much more damaging to young kids
to spend a lot of time looking at people who are
seriously advanced and successful because they are decades older.
Do you know what I mean?
I think that's a thing.
I think it's a thing for young boys that watch, you know, like the Lamborghinis and the big
houses and the helicopters and the yachts and all that kind of stuff.
And you're 15 years old or whatever.
And you think to yourself, like, there's no way I'm going to get there.
You know, like most 30 year olds feel that way, by the way.
There's no way I'm going to get there.
Most people don't get there, by the way.
But it's just, you know, and for the girls, it's probably worse.
But it's just, you know, and for the girls it's probably worse.
It's probably much worse because it's just a consistent stream of, you know,
because you can take a pretty girl and have her look at another pretty girl and she'll feel ugly.
It's weird.
I mean, I'm not saying that for all girls, but I'm just saying from personal experience.
You can see that happen.
You can watch that happen on their face.
You can ask them about it and hear crazy things. I've told this story before. A girl,
I dated a girl in high school who was a pretty girl. And she told me she'd look in the mirror sometimes and just cry. So now imagine instead of looking at a mirror of you, you're looking at a black mirror of just an unending stream of girls who have spent the last hour spray painting and spray tanning.
You know, some of these girls with the makeup are legitimate artists, like legitimately artistic in the blending.
It's a skill.
It's a skill set.
It's a legitimate skill set.
Like I wouldn't mind seeing them spend as much time with a paintbrush
and canvas as they do on their face.
Probably got some really, really great artwork in them.
But to sit there and look at that and a constant comparison,
comparison, comparison. Me, look at my eyes compared to her eyes. Look at my lips compared
to her lips. You know what I mean? Of course, of course that's going to drive you crazy.
But what's the reality? You know, let's get back to the reality of it. The reality of the situation
is you ain't taking that shit away from the kids. I mean, you could take it away from the kids.
You can be that parent and say, you know,
you're not allowed to watch X anymore.
Not the platform, but whatever.
You're not allowed to be on this app anymore.
You're not allowed to be on that.
But they're going to get on it eventually anyway.
They're going to find their way to it.
You're not going to put a wall up unless you do, like, something dramatic.
You know, like if it's really a thing that bothers you, technology and the sort of depressive
behaviors that leads to the sort of time-wasting distraction that it is, in large part, the
only real answer is to like move to Alaska and no Wi-Fi.

But the reality, and I think the reality that most parents have to understand is your kids are moving into a time where everything is going.
It's either going to be lights out, off-grid for everyone,
or it's going to be flirting with the end of humanity as we know it.
Not in a doomsday sense, but in a synchronicity sense. Like your child's life,
if you're raising a 10-year-old or somewhere around that, their life, probably some of their most interesting times in life,
20s, 30s, maybe even late teens,
will be dominated by serious decisions
about how technology will interact with their life.
You know what I mean?
Dominated.
Like right now, we're like,
should I drive the gas car or should I drive the electric car? You know what I mean?
Their generation will be the generation that says, should I implant into my brain or not?
You get that, right? Like if you have a little bundle of joy that's newborn if you have a
five-year-old if you have a 10-year-old whatever and that's what they'll have to grab you're gonna
this is gonna be the generation that is gonna say should i marry a real girl or should I marry a robot girl who is completely and perfectly crafted to make life as comfortable for me and be 100% devoted to me and my wants and desires?
It's not the next generation and it's not us, right?
Our generation is pretty much through.
It will be that generation. Your kid will probably know a kid who marries a robot.
Think about that. That's the storm of technology that they're facing. So I'm not a big fan,
that they're facing.

I'm not a big fan of teetotaling your kids on tech.
I don't like the idea of taking a kid and throwing them out into,
because this is the age that they're running into.
There's no stopping it, right?
We have AI on our phones.

Your kid's whole house is going to be probably run by AI to some degree or another.
Their job most definitely.
That could be that their life in general is tailored by some sort of AI buddy.
You know what I mean?
So that every decision that they make is somewhat influenced.

It's not like you could sit here and say it's all bad.

ending June 30, 2024
compared with the previous year.
According to statistics released
by Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts,
annual bankruptcy filings
totaled nearly 500,000
ending in June.
Business filings rose 40%
from 15,000 to 22,000. Non-business bankruptcy filings
rose 15% to 464 compared with 403,000 the previous year. Business bankruptcy filings were up more
than 40% in just one year. Okay?
This is a thing.
This is not something we can just gloss over.
Jim Chain Blink Fitness announced Monday that it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
That filing is meant to help the Equinox Group own chain, execute an efficient and value-maximizing sale process,
optimize its footprint, and position the business for long-term success,
according to a news release.
Blink said it will keep its gyms open.
In the meantime, it has more than 100 locations
spread across seven states.
These types of filings are happening all over.
Rite Aid filing for bankruptcy.

We expect 90% of these actions to be complete by the end of September. But like I said,
