The older men are at high risk while suicide rates among young people have declined.
Yeah, it's real. It's real, it's real, it's real.

Firearm-related suicides become more common with age as people experience declining health, loss of loved ones, social isolation.
While women consistently have been found to have suicidal thoughts,
men do the deed more often.
It's amazing that there's a 10 to 14 bracket in suicide in the United States.

It's simultaneously dreadful and mesmerizing.
Not the acts, not the death,
but it's just really got me lately
because it's like, what's, how?

Do we have such a high suicide rate when things are so easy?
Do you know what I mean? How do we have such high suicide rate and such a high convenience rate?
How do we have? You know what I mean? And it just boggles my mind sometimes, and then sometimes it makes perfect sense.
Sometimes it makes me think that we are here to suffer, like the Buddhists say.
And we've mitigated most of the suffering.
And I don't know.
Then we get hollow.
I don't know.
I don't know what happens.
I know the relationships between men and women are really wacky now You know what I mean
Because people are kind of a little off
You go out in the real world and have conversations with people
Especially like when I have conversations with women

I always feel like they're a little off

And that's really what, what made this such a good deal.

We are entering into the holiest of months, my opinion.
One of the holiest months all over the planet, right?
And we had our fitness group. The fitness group came to us and
several people built on this idea about kettlebells and kettlebell routine and so on and so forth.
And I said, you know what? I like it. I like it. For December, we'll jump into a kettlebell
30-day routine, maybe 5, 10, 15, 20-day routine, something like that,
five days a week, two days rest, whatever.
I don't have it all hammered down now.
And then I started thinking to myself, you know what would be really nice is if we did our kettlebell workout
and then we folded in the words of the New Testament into those kettlebell workouts,
at the end of those kettlebell workouts.
Do you know what I mean?
And this will give us time to work out in the beginning, reflect at the end,
and build up and build up and build up until, you know, Christmas is here.
Well, James, you know, Christmas is not exactly Jesus' real birthday.

I'm out in the woods trying to find him.
He comes up on the front porch.
My wife's talking to him through the ring camera.
But it was one of those days where it was like the universe was trying to tell me,
James, run a rerun.
It's okay.
It's okay to miss a week because of a holiday and then follow up with a rerun it's
not the end of the world but i'm a hard head you know what i mean i'm a hard head so here i am i
just muted myself for 10 15 minutes for those of you listening post live um you won't miss any but
there won't be it won't even skip a beat, okay?
So don't worry about that, but I'll let you in on a little secret.
Screwed that up big time.
So look, we got to go back.
I don't even know where I started when I came out of the thing.
Long time ago, Maybe 10 years ago
I had this idea about buying and selling raw land
Getting raw land for real cheap
Selling it
Tax liens
Tax deeds
Finding the cheap stuff
Diamonds in the rough
Putting it up for auction on like an eBay
Or something along those lines
And making money that way
I was writing.
It was all, you know, all that stuff was already happening, but it was just another idea.
And I started to learn a lot about good pieces of land and you're not so good and, you know,
all that kind of stuff.
And I had this idea, you know, maybe one day I would own a bunch of raw land.
Maybe one day I would finance a bunch of raw land And make money that way, right?
A lot of things happened to get in the way of that
I had a bad deal
I did a deal one time with land that went bad
Because the guy selling the land like disappeared
I kind of acted as a middleman
I told him I'd make the sale and handle all the stuff
And you know, whatever. No big deal. You know, give me like a few hundred bucks off the sale for my time. But I wanted to do this. I wanted to learn it. And the sale went terribly wrong. You know, it just did. And then I realized, don't be a middleman in a land sale.

it alone and focused on the network um now we're back here again we're back here in New Mexico, plot of land, gorgeous, gorgeous looking piece of land.
And it's there for a number of reasons, you know.
Maybe it's not the bug out location.
Maybe it's not the home location right now.
Maybe I'd love for it to be a hunting location.
That sounds like fun.
You know what I mean?

Even if it's a one-time-a-year sort of destination hunt,
climb up into those mountains with a good scope and maybe some optics and see what's frolicking around up there.
And this is a remote area.
There's really nothing around, so it's no big deal.
So when you have a piece of raw land like this, I mean, it's really up to you in most
cases, so long as you buy the right piece of land. You know, you buy a piece of land
and they're like, well, you can't do this and you can't do that and you can't do this
and you can't. Then you bought the wrong piece of land, right? But out here, it's much different.
So it can become a place where preps are stored and hidden.
It can become a place where a tiny home lives.
And where you show up and live maybe a month, a year, two months, a year, whatever it is.
It can become an off-grid bug-out location.
It can be a location where you show up and say, all hell is broken loose and
we're going to be here for a while. For me, I've always had this dream for my children
of setting aside land in case it all does fall apart. Like one of my big fears is for my children
to get to the age where they want to get married and have kids and the world be hell.
And then say, like, we can't find a place to settle down.
All the cities are a mess.
All the towns, too.
And I always wanted to have that piece of land.
I said, look, if you can find the right gal, you and your brother can head out with your ladies out to the hinterland and, you know, do your worst.
You can do the family thing. You can do the family thing.
You can do the family thing.
Even if the world's in chaos and the way that you do that, obviously,
we have the tools to do that.
I have the skills to pass on so that he could do that
or that they could both do that.
But I need water.
You know what I mean?
I had to have water.

maybe it's something maybe it becomes a little play area for us pbners out there in new mexico
i've never been out west so i don't know could be terrible i might hate it i doubt it but
you know this is what it is. So, like most preps in my life, this thing is multi-tiered.
It's multi-purpose.
It's multi-faceted, right?
It solves many problems here and now, in the future, in the worst-case scenario.
Like, if you're going to put a lot of money into something and it's a prep, this should be how you do it.
You should look at it and say,
will it serve me now? Will it serve me tomorrow? Will it serve me in a year? Will it serve me
in 10 years? Will it serve me in the worst case scenario? If you answer all those questions,
and it's worth investing. It's that simple. It's worth getting.
You don't have to answer all those questions, but it's a big one.

um, tucked away in this little piece of land with the gorgeous view and so on and so forth was an opportunity. And it was an opportunity that I took. Let's see what else they got.

sure is growing in an area that is already laid out for residential stuff, do you think it's going to be worth that same amount of money
in two years, five years, ten years?
Of course not.
But it is crazy when you start to sit down
and think about a piece of raw land
the same way that you think about a gold coin.
And then when you start to think about the utility of raw land
as opposed to the utility of a gold coin.
See, I'm not a big fan of owning one
ounce gold coins i think it's just a nightmare waiting to happen i can't see it's really hard
for me to understand how i would use one ounce of gold you know what i mean like how would I use that in an SHTF scenario giant purchase right what am I
buying I don't know I don't know two thousand dollars worth of what right I guess that you know
there's a lot of opportunity out there. Let's just go with that.

I've known really smart people judge other folks by their accents
and miss out on the kind of community building that keeps folks alive in a natural disaster.
Now this is coming from a liberal, so this is funny to me.
When I say make sure civility is a part of your bug out bag, or your go bag,
what I mean is that our current cultural
wasteland of judgment and recrimination
has become as dangerous as any natural
disaster.

Liberals can buy preps.
They can store stuff.
They can learn stuff.
I guess in many ways there's no reason they can't be preppers.
It doesn't mean that they'll be good at it.
It just means they can try. Ifppers. It doesn't mean that they'll be good at it. It just means
they can try. If you're afraid of firearms, then I guess you won't be a prepper very long.
You can go with that. I don't know. You know, it's an interesting one. I've divided the
nation up in death and life so much lately that I look at them as part of the death party, the death camp.
And I don't really understand the desire to prepare.
But then again, I also completely understand the desire to prepare because I think the majority of people who talk a big game on Twitter,
at the end of the day, they want what everyone else wants.
At the end of the day, they're actually scared to be the social justice warriors that they claim to
be. But it is interesting to see so many people sort of going like, yeah, things are out of
control. What I wonder about is the quiet ones
The quiet liberals who will vote Republican
Because they know at the very least
I won't get raped and killed on the side streets
It's a viable concern
Right?
