It came from the archives.
Good evening, folks.
How are we out there tonight?
James Walton with the I.M. Liberty Show.
Man, a week is a long time.
I'm going to tell you that right up front.
It is a long time to be away.
Some weeks longer than others.
And this one, this one felt like a long time away from you guys.
I don't know that I could ever do a five-night-a-weeker.
But I'll tell you what, once a week can be tough.
it can be very tough
so
we're going to go into
really for the next month
on the I Am Liberty show
barring one week
we're going to talk about
the preppers
kryptonite
because preppers have kryptonite
whether you know it or not
and that kryptonite is
when you leave home
what happens when you leave home
most of us we do it every day
I can't say we because I don't do it every day
every day. I leave it home for a little while.
Volcano, you always throw these things at me at the beginning of the show where I have to talk
about them, right? I have to talk about what you just said. It just has to be talked about.
You know what I'm going to do, though? Since I'm in the middle of a thought, let's put that,
we're going to, what are they used to say in the old corporate world? We're going to table that
thought, because that's an incredible thought.
now I guess we have to talk about it don't we forget about tabling it
we're talking workplace preparedness for the month of February
all right and tonight specifically we're going to talk about EDC at work
and we're going to talk about get home bags and such right to get home stuff
but Volcano brings up something that's worth mentioning for sure
specifically this group she says
you all no i'm sorry that's not the one i'm amazed at how consistently the hosts pull off once a week
you all put in so much work for the shows and you know i have to say that i've been on this network
for a very long time and this group in particular is the most consistent lineup i've ever seen
i've never seen a better lineup and i've never seen a more consistent lineup in all the years
that i've been with the prepper broadcasting network and of course that is not a
pat on the back to me right that is definitely saying wow yeah show up every week no paycheck i mean
hopefully the hosts are working on things in their periphery to make make this venture of there
something more than just a hobby if that's what they want if not hey i am ever grateful
you know but more more grateful the consistency is one
thing. But what I'm most grateful for when it comes to the host is what they present. You know,
it's, you would think, right, if you, okay, you have an entity called the Prepper Broadcasting
Network. So you would think that you want the biggest names in prepping on the Prepper Broadcasting
Network, right? The most popular preppers, whatever that means. But you see, our motivation is very
different. Our motivation is to is for people to see real preppers and people for people to come to
the prepper broadcasting network and hear about what what prepping does for a real person.
You know, so not a person who is out making a living off of the doom and gloom, but a person
that is making a living and preparing for what might come for the disasters that will come.
for the emergencies that may come and our lineup right now is so perfect for that you know so perfect
their people their families their fathers their mothers their daughters you know it's they're real
people and that is exactly what the world needs to learn about preppers right the world needs to
learn that preppers are just normal people and they're not like lunatics with big bunkers missile silos
that they live in exclusively and they don't leave the house unless they have a gas mask gone
and an AR-15 you know what I mean that whole fantasy fallout sort of situation but great thought
Volcano great thought no doubt about it well worth talking about because we do have a we do
have a great group there's no getting around that so
Back to the original, preppers have kryptonite.
Those with a readiness mindset and with a preparedness mindset have a sort of kryptonite,
and that is when they leave their base of operations.
And that's what your home is, right?
Make no mistake about it.
Your home is the base of operations.
You're never more strong than when you were at home with all the things that you have at home,
all the comforts, all the intel, all the preps, everything.
Right, you're never more powerful than you.
are there yet every day a lot of americans have to leave that and they have to go to a restrictive
workplace where they have to deal with all sorts of horrendous rules and regulations and to be
honest with you the modern american workplace for all that we've seen right for all that we've
seen in the world lately all the violence that can be the modern american workplace is not really
well prepared right not really well prepared for what could happen i mean let's be on what what
what can the average american workplace do to prevent an active shooter from happening an active
shooter incident from taking place right you go to an office space there are big long windows or
usually the front enclosure where you get into reception is all glass i mean nobody's allowed to
have a gun on site right nobody in the workplace is allowed to carry a weapon that could
really stop anyone and you know the idea is this you know we live by a lockdown sort of idea
concept but the the average American workplace is sort of like the average American
schoolhouse which is also terrifying right do you ever feel that way when you drop a
kid off you ever feel that way when you when you pull up to school and you let the
kid out and they run up the steps and they look back and wave at you see I'm a sick
minded person so I think about the darkest things a lot
I do. I have a dark mind. It's, it's, uh, I don't know what it is, but it is. You know what I mean?
When the kid goes up into the schoolhouse, it's one of those things. You look at them and you say,
who's there to protect that kid? You know, when they're with me, at least I know.
You know, at least I know what I'm capable of and what, you know, not invincible by any stretch, but
But when they leave, it's up to the school.
It's all about, it's a roll of the dice.
That's the frightening thing.
But then again, when you think about it, so much of civilization is a role of dice in an absolutely, you know, paper-thinnear that gets us along.
Now, there are so many entities in the world right now that want to tear that a veneer away.
It's unbelievable.
They're going to do everything in their power to drive people crazy and make them less civil.
I can't understand that.
Flying Dutchman says America is full of soft targets by design.
You know, there are a lot.
There are a lot, but none are more soft than the children, and it's a scary thing.
It's a scary thing.
But you too.
You know, when you go to the workplace, it's not like you're in a position to really protect yourself.
so how can you maximize that how can you maximize that i mean from a high high level of what i want
to achieve with this month on workplace preparedness i'm really looking for the understand
how you can be effective at work how your workplace can be effective for you and how your workplace
can be effective for you and how they have to be, right?
And we're also going to do a special show.
So, week one, rather.
Week one, we're really going to go in depth and talk about sort of EDC,
what people carry, what people take to work, what people sneak into work,
what people have just outside of work.
and really about get home bags too because workplace preparedness doesn't end when you leave
the workplace right you still got to get home so the get home bag is crucial part of that sort of
equation week two i really want to talk about workplace responsibility you know because whether
you know it or not and you probably don't unless you've thought about it or talk to someone
about it your your job has a responsibility to you in terms of emergency responsibility
response, right? And just so you know, this is, uh, this is nothing new to me, right? This
work for about two years I was in control of food safety and security and safety in
a management role at a local food bank here in Richmond, Virginia. And I guess you can't get
any more specific than that or I can or I did.
either way look emergency response plans i built them active shooter trainings i did them
security cameras layouts locks the whole nine yards building lockdowns all of that been through
it right so i'm not coming to you from a place of pure ignorance or or a place of i watch some
youtube videos or i did some research you know this is stuff that i concern myself with on a
daily basis and to be 100% with you I love the people at that job and I loved that job
you know so it wasn't it was most certainly not a job that I went into with disdain towards
the people that I was sort of tasked to protect with these emergency response plans in
these trainings you know it wasn't a woeful existence at this job I loved everybody
you know i loved the job it was a great it was an incredible experience right and i felt like i got
dealt one of the best hands a man could be dealt and you know fortunately for me it usually goes that
way i don't know why i'm such a lucky guy but it's i mean i don't know i was talking to my son
about that today at the gym i think i say it so much and i'm so grateful for this life that he
said it today. I was talking to the
folks over at HydroBlue and 3V gear, two great
companies that I really like. I was talking to one of their
representatives on the phone today and
it sounds like they might have some writing content needs that I
can fill for them, you know? And I just, I was talking to Carter
about it and I said, you know, it's, I wear a 3V gear bag
every day of my life. It is my EDC bag.
And I was talking to him about it. I said, you know,
it looks like I might be writing for
three V gear they might become one of my clients and he said uh dad you're such a lucky guy
and i just say i mean you're right man i don't know what to tell you i don't know what to tell you
you know it depends on who you talk to i tell my parents i'm a lucky guy they tell me shut up
you're a hard worker same with my wife you know but i don't know you can't wake up every day
that way i wake up every day i'm like oh oh how can it be so good for you
one man but anyway you didn't show up to hear that because i know a lot of you are struggling
i mean don't get me wrong i struggle too i was in a pit of despair about about uh income this
morning because you know we don't need to get into it's none of your business to be honest with you
but i get into the in the beginning of the month as a freelance writer you can you can fall into
a absolute whole of despair until you start hearing from clients and monthly work and it all
starts to kick in again it can get pretty scary when you run your own business you know it's just
nothing's guaranteed you know you don't have a salary there's no salary it's not like somebody's
gonna just drop a check in your mailbox you got to earn it every month it's a little crazy you know
sometimes and sometimes it can take can take you take you off your game but anyway
love the job loved what i did there and really enjoyed the idea of being
the person that was responsible for protecting the people in my job.
And as I got into the whole idea of what OSHA expects of you
and what you're supposed to do on an annual basis,
I came to realize that probably most people and most jobs
are dropping the ball big time.
They're probably dropping the ball big time in terms of what employees should know
and what employees should be trained on.
So that's really what week two is going to be all about.
Now, everyone pay attention because week three, week three, which is February the 20th, Wednesday, February the 20th, the I Am Liberty Show is actually going to be taken over by all the hosts and a special guest, two special guests, really.
But I think pretty much everybody's going to be there.
We're going to do a prepping round table.
All right, I'm not sure where we're going to go with topics and things like that, but we're going to have a really fun time with all of.
of the hosts it's going to be moderated by stephen men king from on the objective this again is
february 20th in the same time slot as the iam liberty show so so you'll come here nine o'clock p.m.
except you won't have me coming in and going hey let me tell you all about my day you'll have
a structured prepping roundtable that'll be led by stephen men king and he'll be throwing questions and
ideas and concepts at us.
And just so you know, for those who aren't familiar with Stephen Menking, I'm going to post
a prepping roundtable that he did a couple weeks ago that I was on.
So you can get an idea of what he's all about.
He's a great speaker, great guy to really sort of moderate something like that.
And we're going to have him on, all the hosts, and one special guest, you've got to come here.
So don't look for the I Am Liberty Show on the 20th.
The slot will be there, we'll be live, but what's most important is that we're going to have a two-hour roundtable, maybe even a three-hour roundtable.
I don't know.
You know, it's going to be a marathon sort of event.
If we've got to, if we've got subjects to talk about, I'm willing to stay on, we can broadcast live for three hours at a time.
So I'm ready to do that.
I'm ready to do that.
That's going to be fun.
Then week four, I'm giving you sort of the high-level workplace preparedness layout, all right?
Week four, we're going to get a bird's-eye view of sort of one man's extreme workplace preparedness and lifestyle.
We're going to have Joe Prim on from The Vigilantwolf.com, the ever-vigilant podcast.
He's been on the show before.
He's top-notch guy.
I mean, really a brother of mine.
uh in this game and and a guy who who puts in serious commute to and from work you know what i mean
and just the type of guy who you want to talk to about about a month on workplace preparedness and
commute and get home and you know the whole thing so i'm gonna we're really going to enjoy
our time with joe prim in week four right looking forward to that but yeah that's the month guys
That's the month.
I'm looking for any and all.
Any and all.
Any and all when it comes to workplace preparedness.
Today specifically, we're talking EDC.
EDC in the workplace now, right?
Just right off the top, what do you do with your firearm?
Is anybody in the chat able to bring a firearm to work?
Is anybody, period, allowed to bring their own?
personal firearm to work.
See, I don't even know
what the rules are for police, to be honest
with you. I don't know if
police are allowed to bring personal
firearms to work, but then again, I think
they are, because
remember that psycho cop who shot
the kid who was drunk
pulling his pants up in the hotel hallway?
He had
an AR-15
that was etched in
with some pretty personal stuff. If I
remember when j ferg says not legally in regards to uh in regards to firearms at work and that's an
interesting thing this day and age you know you want to get it's a hypothetical but i imagine for a lot
of people listening to this show an edc in edc often includes a firearm right yours truly took a
thrashing not too long ago and lost my wallet which contained first of all the
wallet itself was beautiful second of all it had my CCW card which I had to
get replaced but yeah the idea of not having that firearm on your person it
gets really weird when you're used to it there all the time Jay Fergie says
she keeps a a knife in in her pocket at all time
and keys as well.
Flying Dutchman says most police can have their own backup.
Ah, okay.
So police can bring their personal firearm.
Very, you know, everybody else, it is what it is, right?
I feel like most workplaces are cool with knives.
I don't know too many workplaces where you're going to work through a metal detector
and they don't even want you to bring a knife.
So that's kind of as far, well, let's talk about it.
let's talk i guess we'll get right into this idea we'll get right into the meat
of self-defense at work right because you can tackle that
before you talk about everything else in edc just to get it out of the way because you know
it's the it's the five what do they call it the the big purple elephant in the room
the 500 pound elephant in the room is what do we do if something goes terribly wrong in that
regard right what do you do i'm looking for some answers when i taught the active shooter course
one of the things i emphasized to my employees was the idea of starting to look at things in the
office differently and when it comes to the point where you have no option to run no option to
hide and you only your only option is to fight you have to start looking at the things around
you as weapons right you have to start looking at common things as weapons decorations
projectors tables chairs pictures awards you know i'll tell you what we had a front a front
reception that was full of these big big awards see these big heavy
glass and and I'll tell you one thing if I was in reception that would probably be my first line
of defense is either chucking those things or bludgeoning with those things but that's a big piece
about when you're at work right is this idea of uh you know turning things that you don't commonly
consider weapons right improvised weaponry what do you have around your desk in your desk on your
desk and that's where the old subject of the uh what is it tactical pen comes into play right
does anybody carry one of those those tactical pens the tack i think it's called the oh no
you know what it's called the strike pen the strike pen is an interesting little tool uh i've reviewed
it before for a client of mine and the strike pen actually comes with a with a small
like a three-quarter-inch blade that you can screw into it and reveal and attack with, right?
It's a, I mean, it wouldn't be fun to deal with.
You can tell you that.
The strike pen is cool.
It's got a flashlight.
It's got a, I think it's got a handcuff key option that you can screw into it as well, if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, the tactical pens are cool.
They don't blow me away, I'm going to be honest.
with you. I'm sure if you needed something and you had nothing else, I guess it would be cool.
If I had to go with one option, it would be with the strike pen because it's the one of the
only ones that has an actual blade option. You know, the others are kind of, they give you like
the glass breaker to attack with. You know, and of course, it's, you know, it's something that's
going to be better than nothing, right? But you've got to also consider some things.
When you talk about engaging a person at that close range,
which is why, personally, without a firearm,
I think I'd err on the side of the longest range mace that I could find.
That's an office weapon that makes sense
and a weapon that's going to really affect a situation like an active shooter, right?
Think about it.
Do you want to pull a knife?
and fight off an attacker with a gun.
Only in the worst of worst of last resort cases
do you want to put yourself in that position.
You know, never forget what can happen with a knife.
Sure, you could stab someone with a knife.
You can stab a bigger person with a knife.
But they can also take a knife from you, right?
You have to remember that, you have to remember that
things can go terribly wrong
things can go terribly wrong
and there's no way
that you can tell yourself
with 100% assurance
that I'm going to attack this person
and I'm going to walk away unscathed
right
there's no way
I mean combat is combat
and it's never pretty
so you have to be aware
of that. Now a real, a real knife, though, you do have some power, right? And if you know where to
strike, if you know how to bleed a person quickly, that sounds horrible, but I mean, there are
places on the human body that you can bleed someone out pretty quickly if you, if you stab them.
If you stab them in the right spot, they're not going to be standing too long, right? You do
your research on articles.
Flying Dutchman says wasp and hornet spray.
Great.
Great.
They're tough to have around food.
You know, from a food safety perspective,
you really can't have them around food,
but in a warehouse situation,
but in an admin situation, sure.
Wasp and hornet spray.
There's also something to be said about those little mace guns, too.
I'm a fan.
I'm a fan of the year of the time.
because you're not shooting anybody anymore, period.
You know what I mean?
You're taking the effectiveness of an active shooter
and ratcheting it down so fast.
And we're talking active shooter
because that's sort of the worst case scenario at work.
That's not all we're going to talk about
as far as work-based place preparedness is concerned,
but let's be honest.
What's your greatest fear at work?
You know, your greatest fear at work is in the thunderstorm.
your greatest fear at work is hearing those gunshots down the hallway and going oh it's come here
it's fine okay it's finally happened and that's why i like dutchman's wasp and hornet spray because
if you put wasp and hornet spray in the nose and in the eyes of a person with a gun they might as well
drop that gun you know now if you do a if you do a wasp and hornet spray in the left hand in a knife
in the right hand that and if you know what you're doing that could be a serious problem one thing that's
unique about these active shooters and maybe it doesn't stay this way and hopefully you know we don't
see active shooters much more anymore anyway you know that's what we want but you never really run
into many active shooters that are highly trained right i mean how often i can't even think of one
in the cases that have happened
when do you run into an active shooter that is like skilled in
in hand-to-hand combat an active shooter that knows at all how to defend
himself so that's something to consider somebody I mean if you
if somebody comes to mind that was particularly trained to shoot or to fight
they're usually not these types of people right so that's a consideration
Volcanish says you could use the lighter and the hornet spray to make a
flamethrower and then Flying Dutchman says they seek out gun-free zones
you know at my job we had a long conversation about the gun-free zones
you know it was obviously it was simple enough to say that we were a weapon
free zone right but there be there came a time when it was sort of hip and exciting for people to hang
these gun-free zone signs and that's all it was that's absolutely all it was right these
workplaces in general went through this phase when i guess they felt like they you know it's
hard to blame them because when you're when you're faced with a situation where you're as
helpless as you are as an active shooter because most workplaces
are completely helpless right most workplaces in America are completely helpless and when
you know you're helpless but you're also responsible for all these people I think I
think hanging the gun free zone sign is this feeble desperate attempt to tell these
monsters that we we have some power you know so
It's sort of like a, almost like a child hanging, like a no parents allowed sign on their door, right?
It's like, we, I know we're powerless, but we're going to do, I have to just do something to tell the world that we have some power.
And what we're going to do is we're going to proclaim to be a gun-free zone here at this job.
I fought the signs.
I fought the say, you want to put it in the handbook, you want to do your thing with no weapons, no guns in the handbook.
fine. We don't need to put a target out front. I don't like the idea of hanging gun-free
zone signs outside. It does no good. You know, it just doesn't do us any good. Because the
guy who walks in with the gun on his hip and walks out with the gun on his hip, and you know who
he is, right? The guy who open carries every day, everywhere he goes, he doesn't even think about
the gun. You get to that point, you don't even think about it. It's part of your attire. You
wear it everywhere you wear it every day that's not the guy you need to worry about anyway so if you
want to accost him now you're just pointing fingers and you're you're making problems for people that
have nothing to do with active shooters right that is one of those crazy things this idea that
gun owners get a bad rap because of active shooters exist is that wild i mean that's one of the
most wild things it'd be like if we were dragging doctors out of their practice and beating them up
on the streets because they sell drugs and so to drug dealers right like if we just started if we just
started protesting pharmacists because they sell drugs and so to drug dealers it's this crazy idea right
bad people kill people with guns so you better not have guns you better not carry guns
Senator Biden passed a bill to make all public schools gun-free zones.
That's when business jumped on the bandwagon.
That's from Flying Dutchman.
Yeah, a lot of good that did, Biden.
Biden's not too smart.
I don't know what's going on with that guy.
You know, I think, you can't say he's not smart because he's obviously smart.
But I think he's so lost sort of in what he wants to be
And what he wants to do in the mark he wants to leave
And I think he's just doing things
Just doing a bunch of things do stuff
He came out not long ago talking about racism
Is still alive and well in the country
And this whole crazy talk
And white privilege and this and that
But I guess I can't talk about Delaware right
I can't talk about Biden
Because I live in Virginia
And the Democrats are having a
The Democrats are having a ball here in Virginia, man
Between the raping and the mocking of minorities,
the Democrats, they are just having, it's just a hoot.
Right?
They wanted to rip the statues down in Virginia not too long ago.
Now they're just like, get these Democrats out of office.
What's going on?
The Democrat Party, it's like, it's like the umbrella.
Corporation. I don't know if you know what the umbrella corporation is, but it's from this
video game franchise and movie franchise called Resident Evil. And the umbrella corporation
makes all these monsters. And I was thinking about this the other day, watching Northam.
Watching Northam with the black face on and that wasn't me. Yeah, it was me. No, it was me. No, it
I wasn't the KKK guy.
I was the blackface guy.
No, I was the KK.
No, I wasn't in the picture at all, actually.
Right?
So, I was thinking about it.
I said, I was looking at Accio-Cortez.
I was looking at Bernie Sanders,
and I started to think, I was looking at Nancy, Pelosi.
And I was thinking, yeah, this is the umbrella corporation.
Right?
They put out these monsters.
They create monsters.
Like, Bernie Sanders is a social.
socialist monster. He looks like the creature from the Black Lagoon. And he's come to destroy the whole situation, right? He's come to destroy all of democracy in America itself. Right? So they took like the, they took like the sort of makeup, the genetic makeup of Bernie, the bum. And then they created like the West Chester Vampirous. Right? She's like the West Chester.
Vampirist, that would be Ocasio Cortez, right? The monster from Westchester who wants to suck the, suck the
blood and the motivation out of every American, right? And she wants to stuff it full of government
cheese, I guess. I don't know what she wants to put in place of it. But yeah, that's what I was
thinking, you know, Northam with the, and then the other, the other one comes out, what's his name,
Jettingham? What's his name? I can't remember the other dead.
Democrat from Virginia who came out and said, you know what, I dressed up like a rapper once too
and colored my face brown and wore a wig and all this type of thing.
And then the other one, the Fairfax, Fairfax is touching women up there and, uh, the Democrats,
they killed me, it killed me, the umbrella corporation, create nothing but monsters,
letting them loose on the, on the world and then pretending like,
their republicans do it all they do all the bad things they're the they're the they're the
womanized the party of womanizers and the discriminators of minorities and the right when the
microphone goes off they get the shoe polish out they cover the face paint the face up
take pictures put them in the yearbook oh it's a riot it's a riot i love it american politics
This is insanity.
It's total insanity.
Right?
Virginia.
Come on.
Are we ready for somebody of quality yet or what?
Are we ready for somebody to do something positive?
Northam.
Watch you guys fall like dominoes.
Right?
They fall to their own devices.
Here's my question, though.
Here's my question.
Because I'm seeing the uproar about the black face, right?
this is my question to the skin color police because there are there are most definitely a skin color police
and i need to talk to them about an issue that i have that i have a legitimate question i'm not
asking this question to poke fun at the the legitimacy of wearing white people wearing blackface
whether it's bad or good or whatever but here's my question we have an award-winning superhero
movie. Okay. In Black Panther. Right? It's an award-winning superhero movie. And whatever, whatever you
think about that is irrelevant. I don't, I could care less. I could not care any less about any award or award
show on television, right? Because they've been totally bastardized. And I don't even know if they ever were
legitimate to be honest with you but that has nothing to do with my question from a society
standpoint right from a society standpoint we have an award winning black superhero in the black
panther who is way cooler a superhero than i thought right i didn't realize you shoot him with
bullets you get stronger. I didn't follow the Black Panther very much. He was kind of a side note in most
of the comic books that I read. Just, I never got into it. Very cool character, right? Very cool
story, very cool movie. Okay, here's my question. Here's my question.
Halloween rolls around. Halloween rolls around. Little Carter, a little Jacob
decide that they want to be the black panther for Halloween
it's hypothetical all right it's just hypothetical
Carter Jacob one of them my sons decide or your son
or your daughter decide they want to be black panther for Halloween right
is what I want to do I watched a movie I love it the science
and the love and the fighting and powered up vibranium suit
in the whole nine yards I want to be black panther dad
Okay, well let's go get a costume.
You know, nobody's going to care.
Who cares?
The superhero, of course you want to be a cool, powerful superhero, claws, and can fight, right?
Simple, pretty simple request.
Okay, so we go get the costume, we put the costume on.
They look in the mirror.
I don't look like the Black Panther, though, Dad.
Can we use some of the Halloween makeup to make my skin darker?
Like the Black Panthers?
what what do we do what do i do right what do i do in that situation do i have to sit my seven-year-old down
and explain the world to him at that at that point for fear that he's going to offend someone
in a Halloween costume or is it different it's a question i don't know what it's a question if
anybody out there is listening right in the social justice rams
Thanks. I don't know. You tell me. What's the deal? If we're going to take a film like that, if we're going to take a superhero and bring them mainstream, the way that all superheroes are going mainstream, and we're going to make him someone that a child or children can idolize, you got to let them dress up, right? Or is that sacred forever?
I don't know the answer
just a question
chat room's on fire
over this
on fire over this
and this isn't even what we're supposed to be talking about
but it was a little something that came to mind
so
why don't we do this
what is it 940 already
shows fly
you do on a show a week
It just, it flies.
How do I sound the night anyway?
Sound good?
Am I too loud?
Too quiet?
What's it like?
I think I sound great.
Through the headphones, everything sounds perfect, but I don't know.
Why don't we do this?
Why don't we get these commercials out of the way so we can get back and talk more EDC and talk more get home bag and that type of thing?
I don't know how much get home bag we're going to get into because that's a big topic.
but it's a very awesome topic too you know that's a topic that i really enjoy so let's do this
let me mute this microphone and we will uh yeah we'll jump into some ads all right
we'll be right back stay with us i'm liberty show as prepper broadcasting listers
you already know that the more self-reliant people we have around the better off will be in a

things in life that make all the difference in the world.
Oh, thank you. You're too kind. Please. Hold the applause. No, really. You're far too kind.
Look, we've got all these sound effects, man. Might as well play with them a little bit.
I put a few sound effects up here for my own show that we're going to play with a little later today. Maybe.
I don't know if we're going to get to all the stuff I've got for you guys tonight.
Because I still got to do announcements.
You know, running this wonderful network, man.
I don't know if it's just because it's early on and there's so much stuff going on, but
it seems like there's always a ton of announcements, man.
So one of the things we have to do right off top is talk about the people who are currently supporting the Prepar Broadcasting Network in a very unique way.
Okay, because we have people who are supporting the Preper Broadcasting Network by doing something that I encourage every one of
out there who has a website to do in the preper niche or even beyond you know i'm also i'm talking to a
gun website right now and they're considering putting our our little player up for everyone and
basically what i'm getting at is uh when you put a player up on your website you get access to all the
live shows and everything you know that we do here publishes in that player it updates on a daily
basis because we have a new show every day.
And to be honest with you, the prepper broadcasting spreeker embedded player is about the most
no strings attached quid pro quo I've ever been a part of.
Because when our player goes on to a website, we get listens increased, right?
More people click on the shows and listen to them.
And that's a big benefit to us.
But you also get people staying at your website longer while they're listening to these shows.
And that's a benefit to you.
So we have some supporters.
We're calling the Prepper Broadcasting Network supporters that I want to talk about.
The first to put up their player was SHTF Preparedness.com,
not only a great supporter of the Prepar Broadcasting Network,
but also one of my clients.
So also a great supporter of the Liberty House.
household.
Another great supporter that we're dealing with is
PrepperBits.com.
I've written for them also.
PrepperBits.com.
They do a great job over there.
Great content.
And then we have our own Melinda Lee,
who also has a player up on her website,
HPC-community.com.
Is that right?
Melinda.
com.
I don't have it in front of me.
I feel like it might be a dot-org.
Melinda is with us, isn't she?
Yeah, she's with us.
But HPC-community.
com, I'm pretty sure.
Let me check it real quick.
Also has a player up on her website,
and like I said, it's very simple.
All it is is a little bit of HTML.
Just a little bit of HTML,
and you can have a player up on your website,
too, and you get, you know,
you get seven days of unique prepper related content and you also get you also get reliance
you know and for those of you who aren't familiar what reliance is that's our our strange
exploration of faith in the 21st century that kicks off every sunday morning around about
six o'clock right we pay homage to god
and sort of explore those ideas but uh yeah it's a no-brainer but thank you to the supporters
shhtf preparedness dot com prepper bits if you like the sounds of these guys you want to check
them out just go to the website we've got their logo up there you click on the logo you go to
their website and hpc dash community dot com it is you won't even believe what's going on over
at hbcdash community dot com but i have a feeling we're going to get to know them a lot better
we're going to get to them a lot better so next month's topic we're not talking about that that was
from last week's notes what i do want to talk to you about real quick not going to spend too much
time on this because i haven't hammered this all out yet but this is a very important thing to
discuss today because we owed bruce buckshot hemming a shout out on this i am liberty show
He wrote a book called Four Second Impact, The Skyrocketing Attacks by Predators on Humans.
And Four Second Impact is a book that is currently featured in the Prepper Broadcasting Bookstore.
You can go check it out.
It says, four seconds until impact.
When people are attacked, your train of thought will be something like this.
Oh, look a bear.
Oh, he's charging.
OMG, are they fast?
I better do something.
This answers a lot of interesting questions.
Can hunting help curtail animal attacks?
How many bears is enough?
How many people have to die before we do something?
Who is responsible?
I'll look at 100 Cougar attacks, 106 grizzly bear attacks, 130 coyote attacks, and 126 black bear attacks.
Interesting stuff.
Like I said, featured up at the store right now.
You can read more about it if you'd like author Bruce Buckshot Hemming.
And the book is called Four Seconds.
until impact so if you're into that thing check it out check it out uh we got prepper broadcasting
teas for sale t-shirts mugs the whole nine bunch of different stuff up at the website also
we already talked about the preparedness round table so i want you guys to uh mark that off in your
calendar i think that's going to be a very unique and exciting thing that may be something we do
every month, every couple months.
I love gathering everyone together and sort of getting,
pooling those gems of preparedness information from our great hosts.
It's fun.
It's a good time.
And I think that's it.
I think that's it for announcements.
I was going to talk to you about war games scenarios.
I don't think I'm going to get into that.
I think that's for another show.
Oh, let me, one more thing.
One other thing while we're on these.
Jay Fergie says my birthday is a national holiday
What is that? What is the holiday?
Because that's unbeknownst to me.
I had no idea.
I found out someone got married on my birthday.
Someone important.
I don't remember who.
Who was it?
Oh, you know who it was?
Tom Brady got married on February 26th.
uh what were we saying oh yeah yeah so check this out all of our shows are up on youtube right now
and i didn't really want to get too into youtube but i'm starting to think about getting into
youtube a little you know i'm really i've really been considering this idea but here's my
problem with youtube there's a couple right i told you from the get-go i didn't want to really
lean on anything that could be taken from me and we're not really crazy so i don't think we have to
worry about the prepper broadcasting network getting blacklisted by youtube people but you never
know anyhow we've got all this content up there i've got the time and the means and the and the and the
tools that i need to make youtube videos but what i don't want to do is sit here
and talk to people like their parent about preparedness.
You know, I think people are really getting tired of people saying things like
what you need to do is.
What you need to do is this, this, this, and this.
How you need to prepare for this scenario is this, this, this, this, and I don't want to do
that.
That makes me want to puke just thinking about it, right?
So that's been something that has really been turning.
me off from doing a YouTube channel with with video so I'm like what I don't want to do
review stuff really often I like to do reviews but I don't want to become a guy who has to do
a review every week I don't want to do that when I want to do a review I want to do a
review and then that's it so I was thinking to myself right what could I put up on
on YouTube that would add value and that's when I realized I need to take advantage of
the prepper broadcasting network audience because something i learned about you guys a long time ago
is particularly those in the chat room because those are the folks the only well no that's not true
those in the chat room and those who comment on the website from that sort of a petri dish
i've found that you guys know your stuff you know that i mean we see people from the chat room
become hosts that happens a lot you guys know your stuff and you're doing it that's the difference right
you're not just some guy in front of a camera saying what you need to do is you need to get this
many weeks of food you put it away in a closet you guys know your stuff and you live a preparedness
lifestyle so what i'm going to do is i'm going to create a playlist of videos called network
knowledge and what network knowledge is going to be the information that I get just on a regular
basis from folks in chat through emails from from folks who are fans and from commenters on
the website because you guys give me great information incredible information about news stories
about what you do I had a great repost or a great reply rather up at the
Prepper Broadcasting Network website on a big article I just wrote about get home bags
you know sort of in this EDC vein and it was all about the get home bag why to make one how
to make one sort of a get home mentality it's up at the website just click latest posts right at
the top and I had a great sort of breakdown of one man's journey and what he has to do to get
home and what he has prepared to do that and really i think that's the type of stuff that i really want
to talk about you know so that's kind of the deal uh volcanic says we need videos of the pint
size prepper project of the week you know it's not a bad idea i've got a couple pint
size preppers we could probably with ryan's permission we could probably knock out the pint
size prepper project of the week ourselves me and the little guys that would be a good one yeah so
we might go that direction i think we're going to go that direction and put us put some youtube
videos up i really want to have fun with it though you know i don't i don't want to be i really
don't want to be super serious guy super tactical guy super prepper guy i don't want to do it you know
i just want to be this is p bn you know me we have we have we have
We have five incredibly engaging hosts who are lively, happy, well-balanced human beings, Americans.
And that's what I want the whole feel of this network to be.
I don't want you to come to the network, but oh, God, the world's coming to an end.
So, yeah, look for network knowledge.
It's coming to YouTube.
And, you know, it'll be me in the first and foremost for most of them, probably, because I can't.
put video demands on the hosts who already do so much it's crazy right be crazy for me to say not only do
i need a show every week i also need you guys do video audio and overdub we're going to do a cartoon i need
your voice for them it's a mad mad mad mad mad mad world out there right but yeah looking forward
to network knowledge and whatever else comes uh along with that hmm i think
I think
That might be it
But I'm not 100% sure
If anything else comes up
That's definitely all that's on the list
The YouTubing and the book
Players
Prep a Roundtable
The wonderful PBN supporters
If you guys know anybody who wants to be a PBM supporter
Definitely let me be a PBM supporter
Definitely let
them know you've got a prepper podcasting prepper website the whole thing whoever you
know that might want to be that could use a player up on their website let me know okay
we're always looking for that I had another I can't think of what it is not sure not
sure let's move on maybe it'll come to me maybe it will come to me so what we're talking about
We're talking about EDC.
So what are some other C items besides the self-defense aspect that you carry every day?
You know, what are those things that you take specifically to work to be sure?
Well, you know what?
Here's the real question.
And I'm probably going to write an article about this, too, pretty soon.
What is the point of the EDC?
Does anyone know?
When you talk about, now, of course, the EDC can have many points.
from many different perspectives.
But when you talk about specifically workplace preparedness
and the get-home process, the get-home plan,
Melinda Lee asks, have I thought about expanding your trucker network radio?
It's very expensive.
Tremendous investment, you know.
I'd love it.
I'd love to get on ham.
And we may one day, who knows, you know?
There's limitless potential.
of Prepper Broadcasting Network, there really is.
And luckily, for those who are involved,
the owner of Prepper Broadcasting Network is relentless.
It's what I am, just relentless.
I mean, you know, it's up early and it's up late,
and it doesn't matter, it's going to get done, that's what it is.
But I'd love to get on the, I'd love to get on the ham dial for the truckers.
man, that would be phenomenal.
So it could come, right?
It could come.
So there are three tiers in the world of sort of EDC get-home process in my mind.
This is kind of how I look at it.
And I think I actually, this idea might have not be my own.
I think it might have come from me from ITS Tactical.
I'm pretty sure.
But the way I always look at it is, you know,
your everyday carry is is your first tier right and it's the the items that you keep on your
person every day naturally right that edc everyday carry but those items serve a purpose right
they serve individual purposes but they also your edc awful serves serves serves an overall
purpose that is to get you to tier two anybody want to take a guess of what tier two might be
right so edc being your knives guns forks sporks
jfurggy actually said bandanas that's a very good one they have on hand flashlights
uh keys phone wallet charger maybe these types of things
your next step right tier two is to get to your vehicle and your get home bag j fergie
hit it on the head right she calls it
emergency kit which i think is a really good idea right that way people don't call hr on you but that's what
it is tier one is to get to tier two right and tier two obviously to get to tier three which is home base
you get to home base all your options open up that's why the get home is so important that's why the
edc is so important right that's why the get home bag is so important now edc as of late
has become fashionable and it's sort of become it's become really silly in a lot of ways you know
but there are products out there that tow the line of effective and fashionable one of them
one of them is a company called dango dango makes the most beautiful wallets on the market in my
opinion the most beautiful and effective wallets on the market for men well i guess for women too who cares
but if you go check out dango.com no they don't pay me any money no i don't write from them no
they don't sponsor the show but i carried their wallet for two years straight and i just lost it
and i feel like there's a hole in my heart let me say it again a hole in my heart for dango
i'll get another one but they're great wallets okay and that's a you know a big part of that
EDC mentality is what you carry every day and you know you got to like the things that you carry a
little bit right but the EDC serves you best if it gets you to your bugout bag or to your car
right or to both and hopefully your bug out bag isn't your only option in your car i keep a first
aid kid in my car a real one one that i made myself in a pouch i prefer to be a pouch in the car
so that I can quickly affix it to anything I need to.
If I go camping, you know what?
I need a little extra first aid.
Why not?
I take the car kit.
I don't have a kit in a plastic box.
I don't have a kit in a zipper pouch.
You know what I mean?
Well, actually, it is a zipper pouch.
But I don't have a...
My kit fits right into the Mali and it goes on to things.
It's that way for a reason, right?
If I get in a get-home situation, yeah, I'm going to take that car kit and I'm going to attach it to the Molly Webbing on my V-Lox 2x3V gear, which is my get-home bag of choice, which is a phenomenal bag for an incredible price.
And that's the first aid implement, right? That's the deal.
So to get-home bag, I don't really want to go into contents of get-home bags because I think that's a, I think that's a black.
black hole. There's one concept that people have to understand about their get-home bag and it
really becomes down to mentality. It comes down to distance from home. From there, you can build
whatever you want with whatever you want. If you're completely in the dark about what we're talking
about, get-home bags in the get-home process, go to the home page of prepperbroadcasting.com,
click latest posts, which is one of the first buttons you'll see, and read my
article on the get home bags read it it's it's called like the prepper survival review
budget get home bags that whole article is about the get home process maybe not the best
title for it maybe i should change that title so people know what they're what they're getting into
because it's not really that much of a review the review might only make up i don't know 300 for but
probably like 600 words of the 2,000 word article but there's also a basic list of get home bag
contents right the biggest thing to understand is are you five miles from home we 50 right that's the
idea the idea if you're five miles from home you're talking to two hour work walk in most cases right
you can cover two my five miles and two hours on foot right there's no doubt about that
now there are things to consider like violence self-defense
protection, that type of thing. But if I were in a situation where I worked, walked, I'm sorry,
if I were in a situation where I worked five miles from home, I'd carry an EDC bag into work
every day. That would be my answer. I wouldn't stow away a bag in my car. Right? But that nub,
here's that nub. That nub is a 50 mile walk from home.
you know that's no joke that is no joke at all in most cases you're probably unless you plan
to walk through the night you're going to have a you're going to have an overnight situation
you know and depending on what you're dealing with you're also going to walk in 50 miles you're
going to cover a lot of different places and spaces the long term get home the long
winded marathon style get home is an interesting thing
man you know when you're talking five miles it's not that interesting you're going to go through a
neighborhood maybe and then you're going to be home you know maybe stay off the main roads that
type of thing but when you're talking 50 miles not only are you going to go through a lot of walking
but you're going to go through a lot of changes of neighborhood and and spaces and places and
places and some could be violent some might not be you know it's there's a lot of dynamics when
you're covering that kind of ground and you need to have a bag for that my recommendation for the
long distance bug out bag and i just for the record one of the things i did when i started writing
i did whatever i could when i started writing let me start with that whatever i could get my
greedy palms on because I left my job and I told my wife I think I can pay the bills through writing
and when I say pay the bills we split the bills we've always done that since we first moved in
together so I told her honey I think I can do this I think I can make this work how do you feel you
feel good she said I feel good okay so early on I didn't have any clients I'd like two or three
clients so I used to do whatever whatever came up that I could do
and I used to do these soul-sucking reviews.
They were just the worst soul-sucking reviews of items that I didn't own,
and the client would tell me, look,
the client was just basically looking to make money off Amazon affiliate links.
They would tell me, look, nothing wrong with Amazon affiliate link money-making,
but it was nasty what we did.
they told me to look at the reviews from Amazon
and reviews from other places and generate a review for that item.
So without having touched the item,
I had to write a review on it, and it was not fun.
It was not fun.
It was work I got out of as quickly as I could.
But for a short time, it paid the bills, you know?
So the things that I recommended in the Get Home Bag article
are all bags I have and items that I use.
And what I mentioned as my sort of long-distance get-home bag
if I was in that position was the three-day assault pack by Condor,
which is one heck of a bag.
It really is.
This is a bag that I reviewed.
This is a bag that I've used and worn on several trips.
It's a bugout bag, to be completely honest with you.
I mean, to be completely honest with you, it's a legitimate bug-out bag, the Condor 3-day assault pack.
It's a powerful little thing.
And I think if you're in a position like that nub and you're going 50 miles from home, yeah, that's something.
That nub, are you being serious when you say roller skates in the trunk, or are you pulling chains?
I know that nub can be a chain yanker.
But that's pretty interesting if it is.
I don't hear him.
He says roller skates in the trunk.
But I think he's joking.
Can't put the folding bike in the trunk of the Miata.
Hey, you got 50 miles to cover.
He says, of course.
course i have skates in my trunk i don't blame you man without door wheels i'd take a razor
scooter if i had to cover 50 miles i'll take anything that's no that is no joke man
especially if you consider what the you know what are you going home for what's the disaster
look like is it a hostile situation you know that's yeah
fun guys you don't know what you're missing out on you really need to whatever you're listening
to this thing right i go to sources now see what we used to have very limited statistic information
so we didn't really know where the listens were coming from but now that we're on spreeker we've
got a million different ways to see who's listening how they're listening why they're when they're
how the world the whole thing i get the age that we live in the age that we live in is not one of
I'm going to stay up and wait around for this show and I'm going to watch it live, right?
I mean, people still do enjoy live.
Don't get me wrong.
A lot of you do.
I mean, I see our shows.
Our show is getting nearly 100 live listens every show, and that's impressive to me.
But if you're not enjoying the chat room, then you're missing out on, I'd say close to 25% of information that comes from me doing a show.
That doesn't even come from me.
I mean, right now I have 30 different comments about what we're talking about lockpicks and bolt cutters and cash and put this in and skates and fold up bikes and all this stuff.
You know what I mean?
You just don't get it if you don't come to the chat.
So if you're over there and you're subscribed on iTunes or wherever you subscribe from, you can go to prepperbroadcasting.com.
Click the listen and chat button and you can just come join us.
You don't have to sign up.
You don't have to do it.
You just type a name in and join us.
Be nice.
If you're not nice, you get kicked out.
But that's it, you know.
And you can gather.
You can cohort with us.
These are my buddies.
These are my buddies here in chat, man.
I see them every week.
Every week they're here supporting me.
It's so overwhelming.
So that's the idea behind the get home bag.
If you're really looking at a way to address that,
need and you haven't already you need to think about what you need if i were in your position and
i live five miles from home i'd invest in a good edc bag something i can carry every day something
it'll carry my work needs and my personal needs and my preparedness needs in one shot right
my personally dc is called the outlaw slinger by three v gear i wear it every day i have it was
you know just until just recently it was a diaper bag slash a gun holster slash a
a bunch of little preps that I carry on an everyday basis and you know headphones and
face masks and story dice that I play with my kids with my lock for the gym you know a bunch
of stuff books the whole nine yards I could throw a laptop in there if need be but that was my
choice and that would be my choice in a short distance get home situation and you just you know you
you tally up from there you go higher and higher and higher and that's the deal oh that's not a bad
idea that and i said record chat and add it to come on get out of here add it to the podcast to create a
YouTube video. What a great idea, man. That's easy. We're going to do that. Maybe we should
do that. Hmm. It's not a bad idea. Where you've been that? Nubb, you should told me that months ago.
No, we could do that for sure. I've got to be careful what I bring up on my screen, though.
Yeah, that's easy. Nowadays with Windows with the video gamers. With the video gamers that are out there.
All the Windows, all you got to do is press, like, I think it's Windows G or something like that,
and you just start recording me, like automatic.
It's an automatic thing.
It's impressive.
No doubt about it.
I guess that makes sense.
Maybe it will too.
That nub just sent me a video I want to watch really quick.
So I don't know what's going to happen.
Oh, you know what I do this.
Because if I watch this video, it's probably going to explode.
the sound quality
okay
back to it back to it back to it let's play a little bit
you want to play
we did some workplace preparedness right
I got it see what I did this time is I got the main topic
out of the way early so I can space out now
and everyone can leave
what should we do
so we have so for those of you
new to the i'm liberty show we discuss four topics every show if i have something we're talking about
strong communities healthy americans dynamic lifestyle self-sufficiency now what's interesting this go
round is that things like our self-reliance section these four sections in particular i created
some uh sound bites for not sound bites but sort of sound intros right so it when i say we want to get
into sort of the self-reliance part of the I Am Liberty show.
We can do a little...
Would everybody hear that?
Little Liberty there.
I got him to do a little...
I think I have to shut my mouth and then hit the button
because auto-ducking is blocking him out.
There he is.
So little self-reliance talk.
I have to again thank Melinda Lee in the chat room.
We shouted out her website, HPC-community.com.
Check it out.
It's, and, well, it's very impressive what she's trying to pull off.
And if I were a millionaire, I'd give her a lot of money to do it.
I'd tell you that much right now.
Because it's something I believe in in a whole lot of ways.
But thanks to Melinda, I think it was, what, Sunday?
Sunday morning?
it might have been Saturday morning
Saturday morning
I started my first batch of kombucha
and this is something I relish
I think Jay Fergie
our Saturday night host also has a batch of kombucha working
Jay Fergie how are things going with yours
I'd like to hear about this
because I think hers should be about ready
right if I remember seeing the picture of it
on a Family Affair Instagram page.
Oh yeah, if you like what we do here at Prepper Broadcasting,
you listen to the podcast exclusively.
We all, yeah, we all have Instagram pages,
and it's a lot of fun.
So Jay Ferg is about to start her second fermentation
on her batch of kombucha.
Now, I think I'm going to go pretty,
I'm going to go pretty mild, Jay Ferg.
I don't know what you're planning on doing with flavoring.
Now, don't get me wrong.
When the summer comes around and I got,
herbs and stuff like that it's going to get crazy i'll be doing basil and pawpaw fruit kombucha i
can tell you that right now wacky stuff because i'm a whack job but i think this go around i'm
just going to do ginger because i really want to know sort of what if i did it right or not
j ferg's going mango or raspberry very cool raspberry sounds awesome so what's the big deal with the
kombucha i used to go to a yin yoga class because i love yoga i haven't gone in a very long time though
god it's been at least two three months maybe since i went to an actual yoga class i'm in and out
you know what i mean but when i go to it and i go to it consistently i love it i really do i think
there's some power in yoga that a lot of people just don't take advantage of but anyway i remember
i had a yoga instructor who was really hammering kombucha in a bad way right she was saying it's just
I don't know why people want to drink bubbly vinegar.
It just tastes like vinegar to me.
I'm going to tell you what.
I'm going to tell you what.
If you're looking to beat soda out of your life,
the effervescence that you get from kombucha is amazing.
You know what I mean?
It's just absolutely out of this world.
that nub says he tried to make kombucha once a subscriber sent him a scobie he left it for a month
and found uh found a the whole jar full of scobie nice well that brings us to our next topic
which is the great scobie chain mail the great scobie giveaway because i was thinking about
old chain mail last week and i was thinking you know kombucha is an incredible thing right it's a
miracle elixir what did they used to call it melinda if you don't mind actually i think i have the
big book that you sent me right next to me here the big book of kombucha i can't believe
the lengths that you went melinda lee to get me this stuff it's amazing really it blows me
away i thought that there was hmm
no i don't see it it is an adaptogen but it had a uh it had a very cool name and i can't remember
what it is but anyway i encourage you to give it a whirl if you've never had it before i'm looking
forward to it because to be honest with it's expensive and i only drink one a week and i have
thought in the past uh i've definitely thought in the past i should just spend more money and have
more of these around because i only really drink water and coffee and what happens is uh you know
you get you get tired of that and there are also some rich foods where the effervescence is so
perfect you know and and even though i work out and even though i eat well pasta and pizza i can't
quit there's just no quitting it you know i don't care what happens
doesn't matter, doctor comes and says you've got diabetes or whatever it is. I mean, I don't think
that will ever happen to me. But I have to have pizza and I have to have pasta. It just has to happen.
You know, it's not something I'm going to give up. And when I sit down to pizza with water,
it's soul-sucking. It steals a piece of me. I'm not a fan. I'm not a fan of pizza and water or
pizza and coffee. So for me, what's important is having that
effervescence and you can drink something like kombucha that will i mean it has a serious effect on me i
don't know about you if i get in a situation where things are screwy you know in my gut it's raw
garlic and kombucha for a day i'll crush that raw raw garlic up and eat it and bear down and then
i'll drink a kombucha with ginger and i'll just be pulled through the roof and i'll be better in a day
you know so it's a big deal because the carbonation is nice you know and it's healthy but that's
kind of what I'm working on for those of you out there listen the great scobie chain mail the
great scobie giveaway basically is starting like this you grow scobie every time you make
kombucha and I want to give it away and then I want you to give it away and then I want the person
you give it away to to give it away so if you're interested
interested in brewing your own contact me contact any one of the hosts that you listen to let
us know and we'll be sure to get you something right one of us will get a scobie to
you in some way there's no doubt about that you know right I think that's about it
on the self-reliance front I think that's about it healthy Americans how that
sound this was actually the word prep uh this was actually the microsoft word reviewer voice
in a cathedral sound effect so another big one healthy americans uh we talk about on a weekly
basis here if i have stuff worth talking about and uh i'm on this freaking journey to the
marathon in march and i'm still going
I'm not 100% sure
I think the guy I started with
might be giving out on me
you know this was something
this marathon thing was something
that I started because another person
started it
right
he would
someone at work kind of
said that he couldn't do it
so it was one of those things
so I said you know what I'll help
I'll run with you you want to run together
we've never actually run together
but I've become completely
wrapped up in this idea
of running this marathon
and I'm up to 10 miles now
and I think this week I actually cut down
according to the marathon training plan
I think I cut down to 6 miles
and next week I go up to 14
and effectively over a half of a marathon
right
but all that running
all that running is it's a lot of time
it takes a heck of a lot of time
out of your life
that's the only thing I don't like about it
that's the if I could pause time and run
because running is an amazing time
it's an amazing time to take information in
you know if you run five miles
it'll take it 35 40 minutes
and you can really digest a podcast
an audio book that type of thing it's it's really an impressive moment to yourself that's what i like
most about running and i didn't know it because the most i ever ran before it's five miles right
at once a week through the summer i was running five miles up a hilly road you know and i enjoyed it
it was hard you know it was really hard by the end of it was like good thank god that's
over but it took me to the limit it gave me time to listen to podcasts and catch up on things
but it's really important man you go into these deep dark places when you start getting up there
to 10 miles you start getting up there to 10 miles you find two things out at least i am this
is what i'm finding out i'm finding that there's some great thinking when you get up
the five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten miles of running, right? Your mind starts to just really get into
think mode. It's really, oh, there you go. So kombucha was called the T of Immortality. Yeah, you get up,
you get up in these 10 mile ranges and you can really silence the brain and just think. You know,
I don't know if that's because your body's like, I'm going to die.
But then again, to be honest, if you find the proper pace while you're running too, you can,
I mean, I feel like when I stop running that I can probably just run for eternity.
I keep about a 10-minute mile pace, and I know that's not impressive, and I'm sure I could do better.
But I like it.
I like the pace.
The pace works for me.
It works for my cardiovascular system.
I can tell you right now if I had to run a, if I had to run a half marathon tomorrow, I wouldn't even flinch.
And I don't even know that I'd be sore after, because I ran 10 miles and I wasn't that sore.
So I know another three wouldn't be that big a deal.
So I'm really, you know, you start hacking away at all these worries.
That's sort.
I mean, to me, this marathon training thing has been just hardening the feet and the body to prepare
for that long run and hacking away at the idea that you might fail when you reach a certain
number right like this idea of like i know i can run 10 but there's no way i can run 15 right so
then you go run 15 i know i can run 15 but i don't know about 20 all right so go run 20
the interesting thing about marathon training is that you never actually run the marathon
and i don't like that i don't like that one bit i don't want to be surprised on
marathon day i guess people want to be surprised you usually top out marathon training at a 20 mile run
120 mile run and then you sort of take it taper it off i'm not doing that i'm gonna run the mare i'm a
prepper man i'm gonna run the marathon before i run the marathon when i run that real marathon i want
to be able to say yeah i'm i'm good i've done all this before this is just a rerun
you know this is just a rerun but i'm telling you right now guys if you don't if if you think
you can't run right if you think you that like i can't do it i'm not in shape enough i can't
do it i got bad knees i can't do it i got this i do excuses excuses i'm going to tell you
something running is incredibly therapeutic that runner's high business is for real and if you
have something to sort out you know if you have an issue to sort out
like a personal professional whatever it is run five miles you'll have a hundred
the only problem with running is that you need to take a phone so you can record all your
ideas and things because you can really sort some stuff out and for a guy like me
that's priceless because my head is like a bowl of spaghetti that's what my brain is like
it's all tangled and twisted up it's like spaghetti with no olive oil on it you know you
boil pasta and you just leave it don't put any butter olive oil on it just turns into a tangled
ball that's what the running is so i really do love it and i i would have no problem transforming
into jimmy the runner but uh just takes too much time it takes too much time you know what i mean
10 mile 10 mile run i think took me an hour and 40 minutes that's a lot of life
That's a lot of life.
I don't know if I'm prepared to give up that kind of life.
What else do we got to chat about here?
I was attending a freelance writing course today on...
Volcanuses, I need to find a way to make fitness fun.
I haven't quite figured it out yet.
Hmm.
You're talking to the right guy.
What types of things do you want to do?
I mean, for me, fitness is about variety.
It has to be.
It has to be about variety for me.
I have to be, you know, if I'm going to work out five, six days a week, it has to be different.
You know, and I do a ton of.
of different things.
Volcano, you might get a kick out of this.
Let me tell you about what I did tonight at the gym.
Because this is where I need to go some days because it's like you said, fitness can
really get old and boring and not fun.
It can get very not fun.
You know, especially if you go in every day and you do bench presses and squats and
the same old thing every day.
You can lose your mind.
You get really boring and you can burn out and you can be done with it.
So, I stole a workout.
I think I saw it on Tim Kennedy's Instagram page.
And it's called a Viking workout.
And basically what it is, is it's as much an imagination, an imaginative workout as it is, you know, an actual workout.
So you start your Viking workout by rowing.
right so you're going to row your what are those boats called i forget what they're called the
viking boats they had a name i don't remember you row it you're rowing your boat to whatever
continent or whatever uh land it is that you're getting ready to conquer right so that's a
i did a 1,000 meter row five minutes nothing big right so you do a 1,000 meter row on the row
machine and that's sort of you rowing the viking ship then you have to climb the enemy walls right so climbing
the climbing the enemy walls i jumped on the versa climber and did 555 meters which was about another
five minutes it might sound impressive right thousand meters 500 meter climb it's about 10 minutes total
of pretty hard cardio right so you start with your rowing then you climb the enemy walls
one of the things that I left out was carrying the gear right you're supposed to
part of this Viking workout is you're supposed to do farmers carries as though
you're signifying like carrying your weapons to battle and then the rest of the
workout was about doing battle right so it was doing battle with whatever force the
vikings would be facing and that was just a combination of push and pool exercises pool
ups bench presses you know seated presses that type of thing uh some machine press it leg presses that
type of stuff and then to end this viking workout you climb back over the wall right so another
555 meter versa climb and then you row home right so another row to end the workout another
thousand meter row and i'll tell you that's that's fun man that adds a new element
limit to it it's not just going there and do five by fives of squats and overhead presses and
deadlifts and bench presses and that type of thing but at the same time i'll do yoga at the same
time i'll do uh you know kettle bells at home i hit the heavy bag that's another great thing
to do volcano that's a great one if you have you know some frustrations to work out
You can really hang a heavy bag out on a tree for 150 bucks or something like that.
Get some gloves.
Go easy to start.
You can really hurt yourself on a heavy bag if you don't know what you're doing.
Fitness is everywhere.
You know, it really is.
I think where people get in trouble.
I think where people get in trouble is when they think that working out means one thing.
That's where it gets dangerous.
what else do we got oh yeah yeah yeah that's where i was going i was going into this idea
i was watching some freelance writing training today over at a facebook live community and i did a
facebook live community for prepper website not long ago let's hear my i did an alien voice for my
come unity community let's let's have a listen so the the community the strong community
section of the podcast is always something along those lines and when I was watching this sort
of freelance writing uh training I started wondering what you guys would think about
a Facebook group we have a pretty we have a pretty powerful Facebook presence
you know i think we've got something like 6,000 almost people up there on facebook who are fans
so i really got the thinking would you guys be interested in content from a facebook live
standpoint right maybe guest hosts or guests or webinars things like that you know there's a lot
of stuff we could do up on that facebook live that may become something we integrate i haven't
played with it much yet but uh i think it'd be kind of fun probably be kind of fun to do a little
facebook live community volcanic says i have a wave master from when my brother and i did martial arts
oh the wave master punching bag that was the water bag right isn't that what that was the water
bag they're actually not that bad oh is the wave master was that a was that a stand-up job
that kind of rocks water base that's it yeah yeah yeah that was a good that was a cool little bag
I don't know it's tough you know you really I'm into that kind of stuff so I don't know
what I really have to stop doing is trying to trying to pretend like everyone is just like me
you know what I mean you got to do what you like that's like half the reason why I'm happy
It's because I figured out the things that I like
and I figured out how to do them
and I figured out how to make money doing them.
So now I just get to do them.
It sounds so stupid, but, you know, it's not easy, I guess.
Or maybe it is.
Or maybe it's not.
Or maybe it is.
I really don't know.
So for dynamic lifestyles,
my biggest dynamic lifestyle kick
is blacksmithing right now.
You know, that's kind of where I'm at with the dynamic lifestyle.
Let's see the dynamic lifestyle soundbite.
Dynamic lifestyle.
It's a little aggressive.
But I think living a dynamic lifestyle is an aggressive thing.
The blacksmithing is, it's fully functional.
You know, I haven't, I actually haven't snapped a clip of the first project that I made, which is very crude,
but does exactly what I needed to do, and it's a Conabere trap.
setter. It's basically a tool to set a Conabair trap. Works perfect. And, you know, we're going to get to
play with it. We're going to get to play with it this year because the chickens are always under attack
in the summer. And I want to make sure that, I want to make sure that they, that I get my practice
in trapping. You follow me? I think the trapping is a big skill.
and this year we're going to play around with the Conabares.
But back to blacksmithing, I also worked out a small, for those of you on Instagram,
you saw it, I worked out a small crowbar, small pry bar from Rebar that I haven't really put
to the test and I haven't really sharpened the edge on it.
I just, I kind of made it as a little toy for my kids.
It was sort of a double-edged situation.
sort of a double-edged sword I made it because I wanted to play around with two things in particular.
I wanted to spread the metal out in order to create a chisel, right, if need be.
I want to have the skills to make chisels.
They're important.
And, yeah, I actually, Jay Fergie asked if I have my scorching bucket.
I actually used a big giant pot, you know, being in the cooking industry and owning a catering business.
business when I was really young. I have all kinds of metal big stock pots around. And that's what I
used. I tempered it just in water, not in oil or anything like that. But the little pry bar worked
out well. Bending the metal was a lot easier than I thought. Carter and I actually cut the rebar
with a chisel that I already own. You know, that was cool. That was kind of cool.
We sort of did this through.
I buy these.
I don't have tongs yet.
This weekend I've got to get out and get some rivets so I can make my first pair of tongs.
I'm not, I don't not have tongs because I can't make them.
I feel 100% sure about how I can make them.
And essentially, I don't have the rivets.
the easiest part so i got to get out and get some rivets and then i can make my own pair of tongs once i have
my own pair of tongs things get a little different but for now not having tongs my safety route
has been buying giant four foot lengths of rebar you know what i mean and that way i can i can
heat the metal up i'm using propane a propane forge and uh i know from a from a prepper long-term
survival standpoint the propane forge is kind of a kind of crap right because you know once
you're out of propane you're out of propane so you're not blacksmithing anymore but this is the
beginner setup and for you folks at prepper broadcasting network dot com those who visit the website
read the articles i'm going to put the whole schematic out and the cost of how i got this thing going
Volcanus
Need to Get Your Kids Used to Using the Bellows
Yeah, they could do it too
You know, and Carter would love it
He really would
He was very excited to come out and give me a hand
Heating up the metal
He see that metal glowing orange
He uh
We uh...
We would be
Oh while we were cutting
Yeah it was while we were cutting
We were flattening and chiseling
Right
He was holding the long piece of rebar
And I was kind of dealing with the hot piece
And
Hitting it until it cools
down you know and chiseling all sides that type of thing and once it cooled down a little bit and stopped
being orange he went to touch it and i yelled at him real quick right before he touched it i think i don't
even think he touched it and he was so surprised by it all that he got really offensive or got
really offended like kind of like upset a little bit and i was like did you get burned did
you get burnt and he was like no of course i didn't get burnt i wouldn't touch it you know he got
really like it was weird he got into a weird mindset but out there with the with the rebar
smashing with the hammer you know he can't really i have a four pound hammer right now so
he can't really use it you know what i mean i don't even really have the safety equipment for him to be
hitting molten hot metal anyway so it's probably good that he can't use it but uh look
man, I don't know what direction I'm going to go with this thing, but I have to imagine at some
point, I'm going to have more implements and more skills, and I'm probably going to be selling
steel implements of one kind or another. That's kind of the future I see for it. You know,
I really do enjoy it, but I think there's going to come a limit to how much my wife is going to let
me keep around the house and I only have a small shed so what once I reach my limit on knives and candle holders
and door handles and you know hooks in the house and rings and all these things yeah I'm going to have to
start getting rid of some of it so I'm sure sooner or later really my goal this year I told you
this before but my goal in blacksmithing this year is to figure out how to make small Christmas
hooks, like from the story, the Christmas hook, from my book that was released this year,
small versions of the Christmas hook that I can sell this holiday season with the book,
you know what I mean?
Because the Christmas hook belongs on a Christmas tree.
You don't really know.
If you haven't read the book, you don't know why.
But the Christmas hook really belongs on a Christmas tree, so it would only make sense, really,
that we find a way to create ornaments.
That match that magical, twisted little Christmas hook.
It's sick, but I miss Christmas already.
Still waiting for the hardcover.
Listen that.
Now, we're going to do it this year.
Trust me.
We're going to do it this year.
We're going to do a hard cover.
Oh, Volcanicists.
Figure out how to do decorative iron for window security.
what a great idea that is
that's a phenomenal idea
hmm
I look into that
I love that
that's a great idea
it would have to hurt them coming in
but not hurt us going out just in case right
that's the deal
or you have like a nightmare on Elm Street situation
remember what they did to Nancy
remember what they did to poor Nancy
and the house caught on
fire I like that a lot though that's a good move that's a good move what are we dealing with
45 how do we close this show out next week we're doing workplace responsibility that's a big one guys
I don't know if you're into this workplace preparedness thing or not but it's a topic that
americans need to talk about that's why I'm putting it out there workplace responsibility is going
to be all about just what it is your company should be doing and I will be honest with you
You got to have a little bit of Cahones to go to your HR and say,
hey, why aren't we doing these things?
That's one of the things.
You know what I mean?
So that's where I think we're going to go next week.
What else?
What else can we do here?
Let's see what they're talking about in chat.
Demoing things.
Lots of random.
I don't know.
Guys, I think we might call it.
I think we might call this one.
I've had fun.
I hope you got your feelings on about EDC
and about the get-home bag
and the get-home process
and the three tiers of sort of that workplace,
EDC, get-home bag, back home-home to home base.
It's a lot.
If you're coming from zero,
if you're a newbie and you're starting at zero,
it can be a lot.
The best I can say to you is
The best I can say to you is
Go read the article up at prepperbroadcasting.com
If you want to get into the get-home mindset.
You know what I mean?
That's a big one.
That's a big one.
Because you'll start to figure out what's possible.
And maybe that's how we end the show.
What is possible?
sort of at like the quarter mark
maybe at the halfway mark of last year
that's what I started asking myself
and that's what I'm trying to figure out
how to get people to ask themselves
what is possible
you know it's like I told you earlier
I'm a lucky guy
you know what I mean
there's no getting around the fact that I'm a lucky guy
and I live a really great life
and there's guilt attributed to that
and I guess that's good
right
but that leads me
you know when I think about that when I think like
what have I done that's so impressive
or so magical or so whatever
that has got me to this point where I have
you know
most of the things a man could ever want
now I'm also modest guy too
so you know I'm not driving around in a Lamborghini
and I don't aspire to
but for me the things that I want I have most of them and I started to think of midway through last year
like the question of how good a life could be is one that is always in my head and I said you know
now that I've I've made it to the point where I'm sustaining myself on a writing business I have this
free time now i have a new new project here in the prepper broadcasting network you start thinking to
yourself how good can a life be if you just focus on making it better and better and better like little
small little things little small little incremental changes that you do every day new friendships
new meetups new groups new progress new meaning
that's what I want you guys to ask yourself you know what I mean how good can it really get
if you could sit there at the end of the day and say I have a job I own a home I've got a great wife
I've got great kids husband whatever it is however it works for you I've got a career that I love
if you can or how can I get the career that I love like how good can it get
When you really start trying to make it good.
My health is in order.
All these things.
You're the, you are the master of all of this.
Never forget it.
You are the master of all of it.
Now, you may need to make radical changes, right?
You may be looking across the couch at your spouse and be like, I don't want to do this anymore.
I'm not advocating divorce, but, hey.
you never know how good can it be if you aspire to make it as good as it can be
that's the question I want you guys to ask yourself I think we shoot too short
personally I think we shoot too short and we don't give ourselves enough credit
and I think it's time for people to take it back one little piece at a time take
your body back take your health back
take your creative works back value your creative works you can make money off of those and really
start from today on start really trying to live a life that's one of those lives that you look at
and you go you know that most people look at and go that's a lucky person that's a that's a rare life
right there you know there's not a lot of people who get to do what that person does that's who
you want to be that's who you want to be because you only get one right you only get one so you might
well do your best to make it as awesome as you can and you can do that i'm not saying you can wake up
tomorrow and do it but you can wake up tomorrow and figure out what the path is to get there do it do it for me
If you don't want to do it for you, do it for me.
All right?
I'm out of here.
Workplace preparedness this month, folks.
Don't miss it.
All right?
We're going to put your job up to the test next week and see what they're doing and not doing and what they should be doing.
Then we're going to see if you've got the Cajonies to go in and tell them about it to keep the people in your workplace safe.
It's James Walton with the I Am Liberty Show, folks.
Dane tomorrow, the Gunmetal Armory.
we've got a lot coming
that's all I can tell you
stay tuned
keep listening
this thing's only going to get bigger
better
and more fun
we have to be
self-reliance
the pepper
broadcasting network
we have to hit the reset
