Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to PBM. You're a path back to stability. What up, everybody? Good morning. Welcome in. I got these, uh... Gotta crank this volume up a little bit so I can hear myself. Why do I have to hear myself? Hmm. It's the holiday season, folks.
Starting point is 00:00:48 What can I say? It's the holiday season. I hope you are... Well, you know what I really hope, truly, is that you're taking time to praise God in these holy days. Early in the morning, late at night, I find it a good time to look up to the stars and slow everything down and tell yourself, hey, Jay Ferg, what is up? And tell yourself, wow, I'm here. I'm here. I'm lucky to be here. I'm blessed to be here. I get this chance at life. And don't forget, that's what these days are all know don't forget that's what these days are all about
Starting point is 00:01:27 man that's what these days are all about you forget that it's it's trouble so what the hell is going on in syria what is our obsession with destabilization Answer is the government media. No, I'm sorry. The industrial military industrial complex is our obsession with destabilization. We love to do some destabilizing of governments because then we get a bunch of terrorist groups to roll in. They can make life hell for a little while. Then we get to roll in and tamp them down. And it's a vicious cycle, right? And what I see is, what I see happening over there, it's sort of the same old story, right? Who's behind it? You know who's behind it, right?
Starting point is 00:02:21 You know what's going on. White House, there's a headline, White House races to stabilize syria come on syria who is a russian ally what do you i mean really we do you think that oh it's just happenstance that they've decided to. For, you know, foist all this chaos on the nation. When these rebel groups, they were taken into a back room somewhere in an embassy somewhere and somewhere. And they were told by the U.S. operatives. Move on these targets.
Starting point is 00:03:06 We'll make sure you have the intel you need. We'll sure you have some weapons probably and all that i mean this is that's how it goes you know you look back at saddam you look back at gaddafi and you understand that uh once they're marked, they're marked. You know what I mean? And there's a price to be paid. I told you with Putin, and it's the same thing with Syria, and it's the same thing with any country. You have to understand sort of the gang mentality of the United States. And I'm not even really,
Starting point is 00:03:42 I don't really oppose it very much because if we're not the strongest and the baddest on the planet, then someone else will be. But I told you, I mean, years ago now, this whole BRICS idea, this idea that they're going to create a BRICS and they're going to do currency and trade outside of the US dollar. It's all good and well. It's time to depress the disaster coffee here. It's all good and well to do your little BRICS thing, but there's a trend that you have to understand. When you decide that you're not going to use the U.S. dollar anymore,
Starting point is 00:04:29 and you make it clear to the world, and you take steps, usually you die. That's typically how it goes. Give me one sec. Why am I checking my phone? I know the email is nonsense in the morning. But typically you die. That's how that story goes. You know what I mean? It's like, well, guess what? Guess what, US? We're going to stick it to you. We're going to create our little BRICS coalition, and we're going to trade in yen. Or won, however you say it. And, you know, it's done then. Then it's done. Gaddafi.
Starting point is 00:05:20 There's a list of people whose either economies have collapsed. Venezuela is always a good one. You like it, Jay Ferg? It may be like this for a while. I might do it even earlier. I may do it even earlier. I don't know. I have this window like this.
Starting point is 00:05:35 I have this window like this right now because the youngest is sick. The oldest is off to school. The wife took him. She'll be back. I'll probably leave to school. The wife took him. She'll be back. I'll probably leave to go work at the cafe. And so I got this little window.
Starting point is 00:05:53 And pretty soon the boys will be on break. The wife will be on holiday for Christmas and all that. I'll still be doing shows. So I may. I may make this thing like 6 a.m. i know you're up super early jay for you'd like me you know you're like me we can't sleep i was up 350 in the morning 350 like popped up and debated oh you want to see a cool cup
Starting point is 00:06:22 we're into this era. You guys drink Disaster Coffee? DisasterCoffee.com? It's time for me to promote my business, DisasterCoffee.com. I've been wildly quiet about it because I've been busy promoting other things, you know? These cups I bought... No, I think my wife bought these for me.
Starting point is 00:06:43 I actually had a yard sale. They came in a three cup set. And we are such psychos that. We the Christmas thing is insane. None of it's on right now. I turn it to you, but. I've created like this whole schedule where in the early days of December, late days, around Thanksgiving, I drink out of the gingerbread cup. And then as we get closer, I do the house and the decorated wreath cup.
Starting point is 00:07:19 And there's several other coffee cups, too, that are Christmas-related. There's several other coffee cups too that are Christmas-related. Coffee drinking in Christmastime is just – at disastercoffee.com, we have an amazing coffee called The Christmas Hook, named after my book of the same name. It's a gift tag. It's a gift tag. You know what? Let me show you the coffee. Let's get off the bricks, nations, people who are all going to fall and demise in the whole nine yards. It just is what it is, guys.
Starting point is 00:07:53 It's an old story. It's just an old story. That's all. It's an old story. You think that people get away with things when they try to bash your nation and they try to destroy the economic engine that is the united states but there's a lot of money to be made folks and uh i'm telling you right now you do the wrong things you make the wrong moves with the united states and and it's your ass
Starting point is 00:08:21 cheers because it could be the other way around or someone else could hold that power we hold that power uh disasters suck but disasters without coffee suck more if there is wherever i'm on a more andrew bobo introduction to a website right my business partner bobo hits the nail on the head. We will talk. Yeah, let's talk about this Christmas. It is the holiday season, and that's what I called it. It's the holiday season.
Starting point is 00:08:57 We can get away with talking about some goodies. So you see this beauty right here? Those of you who don't know. Your intrepid commander has a little bit of a knack for graphic design. I probably could have made a living in graphic design. Well, in some senses, I do. But what we've done with this amazing Christmas blend here is given you the ultimate coffee gift because you have the ability to utilize the to and from Christmas tag, the gift tag here on this. It's also awesome.
Starting point is 00:09:31 It's amazing coffee. Jay Ferg says sleep has been fit for the last few nights. Strange dreams. Yeah. There's something going on in the energies of the world. I think, in all honesty, I think it's the sun. I really do. It could be a myriad of things.
Starting point is 00:10:01 This is added. I did not write this. Did I write this? This is our festive coffee blend from Central South America. Who the hell wrote this? The bottom of the description of this coffee seems more like it was written by an Andrew or a Phil. We highly recommend Christmas Hook Storybook that this coffee is named after. Medium dark read as you drink the Christmas Hook by James Walton. Yeah, that makes sense. But who wrote
Starting point is 00:10:34 plus 10 jolliness if you add cookies? I can't see sometimes I get in these wacky moods where I would write something silly like that plus 10 jolliness. So it's hard to tell, but that doesn't read like me very much. So if you guys are interested, what the hell? The book is not up here anymore. There it is. So if you guys are interested, you can also get this at DisasterCoffee.com. And this is my Christmas story, man. But the cool thing about this version, you can get the Christmas hook at Amazon.
Starting point is 00:11:17 I had a free reading section or a free reading promo for like all through Thanksgiving. promo for like all through thanksgiving if you read the christmas catalog the holiday catalog you would see that um but this is a 90s christmas tale about dreams actually a lot about dreams creepy dreams just like jay fergus talking about But what's special about this one is it was illustrated by somebody, an artist from around my way. From around the way. And it's a good time. It's a good read. I'm trying to pump out this new book for you guys. I really am.
Starting point is 00:11:59 It's not been easy. Today might be the day, actually. Today might be the day. The slate's a little bit clear for a change. And today might be the day I finish Let Your Heart Be Light. It'll give me all week to edit it. I can get it to you by next week. It's an amazing tale, man. It really is. It's been such a fun book to write. Not everything has to be about warfare and the fact that World War III is happening and we're all pretending like it's not. It doesn't have to be about all that. It doesn't have to be about prepping. Though I will say, now is the time to be smart.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Giant kettlebells. Camping stoves. These are kinds of things that I ask for for Christmas. You may want to ask Santa for some big preps. I don't know. That might be a good angle for you. You might be Santa. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:09 But it's a good time to ask Santa for one of those things that you don't want to drop big cash on, but it might make sense as a one and only gift. So what I'm drinking right now, this is important. This is a self-reliance topic, and then maybe we'll wrap it up. But I don't know how much time I have before my wife and three pitbulls come running, or two pitbulls and a French bulldog come running through the door. Right now, what I'm drinking is the Bunker Beans. Okay. Phil Rabelais, my business partner, is basically the expert of the group in terms of roasting
Starting point is 00:13:39 coffee and roasting coffee, grinding coffee, brewing coffee. You keep the bunker beans on hand. You store them in Mylar bags because they last long-term. Oxygen absorber, just like food storage. You know what I mean? To roast them, I roast mine in the oven in a sheet pan. to roast them. I roast mine in the oven in a sheet pan.
Starting point is 00:14:06 I started roasting them in a, in a, in a mesh pan now, or a, like a, like an air fryer basket cookie sheet kind of thing. And it's perfect. Cause the heat hits them all over. I have a convection oven too.
Starting point is 00:14:16 So the convection probably, you know what I mean? It's really been great. It's easy. Um, you can get them as dark as you like your roast. Just bring up, you know, like different roasted coffees in images. And you'll be able to look at the color of the coffee bean that you like.
Starting point is 00:14:35 And you roast it yourself. And you're going to suck at it at first. You know what I mean? But once you get good at it, I drank. I like to go back and forth between my coffee and other coffee and my wife bought me a bag of dunkin donuts breakfast or something like that and i drank that the last couple weeks and i didn't drink any disaster coffee and then i woke up today and i brought down my little like i have a screw top tupperware that has roasted beans, these bunker beans that I've roasted myself.
Starting point is 00:15:07 And I got a hand grind. You know what I mean? Five in the morning. Five in the morning grinding. And I made this cup of coffee. This is my second one, but I made a cup of coffee this morning. And when I tasted it, the difference just knocked me off my feet. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:15:30 And it was like, I got to talk about disaster coffee today. It's one of those things that's so good, it's sad. It reminds me of me. What's that from? me of me. What's that from? It's one of those things that's just consistently on point. So you take it for granted.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Fundamentally. I take it for granted. It's like I know if I order a bag of my favorite Tsunami. When I order bags of the Christmas hook, it's going to be amazing. It's always amazing. It's always incredibly fresh. It it's diabolical. And it's worked for years that way. It's proven it's you know what i mean and the sad thing about human nature man is when things work effectively like that for years and years what do we do we forget about it we take it for granted you know what i mean this is what it is it's human nature can't do anything so visit disastercoffee.com man get some deliciousness. We have really funny stuff over there, too.
Starting point is 00:16:47 We try to have a good time with our coffees. Here's our medium roast selection. Uncle Randy's Porch is our newest one here, this medium roast out of Mexico. The F5 is amazing. It's a serious coffee. Ethiopian Sedama. Yeah, we name them after disasters we name them about after other stuff this is a premium coffee here probably needs a price raise to be honest i know that looks expensive but this is uganda sippy falls is basically
Starting point is 00:17:17 best coffee in the world best coffee growing region in the world uganda sippy falls so the great res's tremendous coffee. Tsunami's my personal favorite. The Uprising, the bourbon barrel-aged Uprising. I don't drink it except on the 4th. That's my treat on the 4th. The Civil Unrest ain't bad. Supply Drop is the classic.
Starting point is 00:17:42 I mean, it's, you know, if you want to start with something, start with supply drop because it's so good. I'll give you a look at the dark roasts, too. You could do this yourself, but I'm having fun. I don't care. Our biggest seller year over year is Pandemic. This is a six bean espresso blend. Amazing coffee, really. Category six is a great coffee, too.
Starting point is 00:18:06 This is the first time I had a single origin, right? The cool thing about category six is it's a single origin out of the oldest place in the world, right? Sumatra, Sumeria, like these areas are ancient. Sumeria, like these areas are ancient. And I always imagine like the first goat herders drinking this coffee out of Sumatra. Plus, it's an interesting taste. Category 6 was one of those coffees I tasted the first time and I was like, wow, what is this? Is this coffee?
Starting point is 00:18:45 Not like blow your mind away incredibly the best best coffee But definitely unique And new this year New this year I have to get a bag of this To the Phoenix We're doing tea now We have our EMP tea EMP tea Jasmine green
Starting point is 00:19:03 And They're all artisan loose leaf teas are amazing. Unbelievable. The Earl Grey is top notch, man. We call that the Grey Man. Disaster Coffee. It's been around since 2020. What can I say?
Starting point is 00:19:18 It's great. It's a great little company I started years ago because no one would sponsor my network. No one will sponsor my podcast network. You hear people all the time talk about that. It's hard. It's not easy to get sponsors. It takes many things. It doesn't even just take an audience.
Starting point is 00:19:34 We have a sizable audience. Hey, Hunter, I didn't even see you in there, man. What's up? How did I miss you? Wait, what? Hunter, where are you at? Hunter SF says, good morning, senor. For some reason, his comment, oh, this is an old comment.
Starting point is 00:19:56 It's got to be. Maybe not. This comment pops up. It says 8.35 p.m., but it says, good morning, senor, from X. The StreamYard comment thing is a little wacky. I've seen this happen before. What else, folks? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:16 I don't want to get into anything too deep. We're 20 minutes in. We talked coffee. We did a little bit. We did a little coffee talk. No big whoop. My did a little bit. We did a little coffee talk. No big whoop. My day is looking great. And I hope yours is too.
Starting point is 00:20:33 I get my son back to full health and life is, we're ready to pile into Christmas time. Well, we're already piled. And you piled in? You doing anything? A sound investment. If you really want to enjoy the holiday a couple years ago might have been at the christmas bazaar actually
Starting point is 00:20:52 but a couple of years ago i uh i bought this big wooden plaque thing looks like almost like a giant wooden gift tag with a rope through the top that you hang on the wall. And it's basically 25 items to do for the Christmas season, like an advent to-do list type of deal. Do one every day. And we don't do them every day, and we start them early. But I'll tell you what, it's a different kind of year when you knock everything off the list even the trivial stuff baking cookies together gingerbread houses sledding you know what i mean this kind of weird silly stuff that you don't even think would make that big a difference but it you know nothing's trivial pbn family every little thing is a thing you know what
Starting point is 00:21:47 i mean every little thing is a thing there's no denying it so you know let your heart be light this holiday season it's true it's chaos i mean there's there's wars but world war three is upon us like donald trump's gonna come in and and he's probably going to have to do some smashing in my estimation i mean it looks to me like he's going to have to come in and show the heavy hand of the united states military in order to get these people to calm down maybe not maybe not but the way strategy looks to be going right now it doesn't seem to me that anybody's really ready to stop killing each other yet now they may be just saying let's get all the killing in we can because you know time's running
Starting point is 00:22:31 out daddy's almost home yeah i've got a uh got a big self-reliance piece coming for the members you guys are going to enjoy it it's about about making things and the real meaning of self-sufficiency on the day-to-day. I did another day-to-day piece last week too, which was all about my top five preps of all time. I started sitting there thinking, what are my top five preps of all time? The real difference makers? And that list turned out nothing like I or you would ever have thought. Really, it was a very weird list. It really didn't turn out the way I thought it would turn out.
Starting point is 00:23:17 Very surprising. But, you know, life is surprising, right? So stay on your grind, folks. Keep pushing. Keep making more than you are taking. Keep taking on those projects, learning new skills, reading my God, the sky is falling and I have to be ready. This journey is about quality of life. It's about quality of life. Self-reliance and independence is, in my opinion, the best quality of life enhancer there is. You know what I mean? So I think that's it for me.
Starting point is 00:24:07 I do appreciate you guys. Enjoy the rest of your day. Support our great sponsors, man, starting with the incredible folks over there at Pack Fresh USA. Talk to you soon.
