This just in, the New York Times sues Microsoft chat GPT maker OpenAI over copyright infringement.
The Times accused Microsoft and OpenAI of creating a business model based on mass copyright
inquingement stating that their AI systems, quote, exploit and in many cases
retain large portions of the copyrightable expression contained in those wikes.
PBN family, welcome in.
What is up?
I don't know.
That's an interesting story.
I wondered when the waterfall would end.
This is a big deal.
This is a massive deal in the chat GPT realm.
Listen, I'm going to be with you tonight live, 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time for the I Am Liberty show.
The I Am Liberty show.
The I Am Liberty show.
Okay?
Yeah, 9 p.m.
Let's do a 9 p.m.er or i miss my west coast listeners who could possibly
pop into chat though it is a dead time for podcasting right now that the stats show it
the interactions show it only the diehards are with me lately um but most of the time it's the
diehards in chat anyway so but this news man that the new york times comes out and sues microsoft chat gpt
uh and open ai over copyright infringements very very very very very very very very very
interesting because the whole of this technology which people are building businesses on people
are whole entire websites are being written, entire books are being written. People like me who write for a living are a little bit unnerved about it,
right? Like, oh my God, what happens if they have the ability to take my job?
Although I'm not worried about it because I've played with it and seen what it's capable of and
what it's not capable of. And you know, the biggest problem with ChatGPT in terms of writing is it lies. It'll lie. It will answer your question, but it'll make up
some bullshit if it doesn't know the real idea. And, you know, that's where it falls apart.
But creating music, creating written word, creating visual images, and really, truthfully, creating none of it, right?
That's the dirty trick with the AI right now.
The AI is actually not creating a damn thing.
It's holding on to, it's collecting and holding on to massive amounts of works,
and pooling from those works, you know, it's largely taking every bit of content anyone's ever
created and uh and yeah and then taking it and and extracting from it what we ask of it and
cobbling together from our own humanity our own res human resume on the internet, something quote-unquote new.
It's pretty devious when you think about it.
I'm coming to you live from an alternate location at the moment.
It's kind of cold.
It's not necessarily very comfortable.
But I'm not here for that reason.
I'm here to get some work done.
I'm here to escape the family to a large extent.
You know what I mean?
There are things that need to get done.
Sometimes you need a little quiet.
And you know what else?
Here's the other reality.
Sometimes the family needs a break from you.
You get that? For all you work from homers out there, for all of you people who enjoy the life, you know,
that doesn't require you wake up and leave the house unless you want to.
Now, listen, I'm ever grateful.
Don't get me wrong.
But the one thing I had to come to realize is that sometimes you got to go.
Sometimes you got to leave.
You got to leave the home to other people because, you know, that sometimes you gotta go. Sometimes you gotta leave. You gotta leave the
home to other people. Um, because, you know, I'm there a lot. You know what I mean? And I'm the
type of guy, I don't really mind it. I don't really mind it that much. You know what I mean?
Um, you know, I love the outdoors. So my free time, i spend in the outdoors i run in the outdoors i hunt i
fish i do those kinds of things um but i don't mind being a shut-in in my free time i don't
i don't know that's not important what's important for those of you who work from home particularly
this week or particularly when kids are off like summer times and and your maybe your spouse is at home and all that kind of
stuff um leave go away give them the house to themselves because they'll appreciate it if you're
there all the time listen it doesn't matter how wonderful you think you are people get sick of
your ass okay that's all there is that's all there is to it. Coffee. Oh, the coffee.
The midday coffee.
I've been consuming.
I don't know why either, but I've been consuming.
I went for a long time where I was just like, let me drink my coffee in the morning and be done with it.
And I was going, you know, for a month at least with that.
Couple months probably.
And then yesterday into
today i have just been a coffee lab right now i'm drinking gerhard sharpening
gerhard sharpening dark roast blend which is absolutely delicious is a company out of
teleford pa uh a blade sharpening company that i guess created their own promotional coffee for the hell of it.
My brother-in-law brought it over here.
And, you know, that's that.
But I just wanted to give you a heads up, PBN family, all is well.
Oh, you know what else is crazy that you need to know about?
