Maybe listening to me, not PBN, but me in general, is something like the podcast equivalent of Russian Roulette.

You may get what you came for, or you may pull the trigger and get something unexpected. I made an analogy in an article I was writing yesterday about galactic Russian roulette. And I said that knowing what we know about our sun and coronal mass ejections, yet continuing to digitize our entire way of life is like some sadistic form of digital russian roulette or some some sadistic sort of galactic russian roulette right it's like we built and continue to build our whole world on electronics and electricity and and the cyber world knowing we see them every week. And you know, as the media calls him the worst, most racist, terrible man in the world, you're watching him and you're going, well, that's not who he is. I mean, he ain't perfect, but that ain't who he is. You will inadvertently create a Barron Trump. And I'm telling you right now, pay close attention to Barron Trump. The baron is going to be a bastard. That's what he's going to be.

He's going to be a monster to deal with. How couldn't he be? Wouldn't you be? If you were in his position, if when you were 12 years old, you saw the true face of the left wing movement in society and they and one of their heads of state up there, Peter Fonda in Hollywood, said that they should lock you in a cage with pedophiles. Arab Resource Organization Center, and the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression. There are some other organizations that will be there. I like details and facts. What do we want to get into? It is springtime. Gardens are producing. Things are happening. What is one of the things that is so good to do this time of the year? Cooking over fires, maybe. Marinades. Marinades are always important.

What have I been cooking lately? It is a good burger time. There's no doubt about that. It is a good burger time. Grilled. It's good baking of bread time. I don't know. I feel like many of these topics we've touched on before.

I'm looking out to my garden right now to see what's coming up. I know I've got some turnips popping Onions are going crazy Strawberries, raspberries Horse radish, peas are climbing You know I started bush beans earlier Oh let's talk about that Let's talk about a great little

Bean salad for the young beans, okay? If I can remember it. So, haricot vert, the French string bean, the little baby string bean, right? You can do this with pole beans when they're young. What it is, is about harvesting a bean when it's young, you know? But they're great, and they're wonderful. And what we used to do with another great spring vegetable is we'd take fennel, and we'd take the green beans, okay? The hairy couvert, the young green bean. And then we would shave julienne, if you remember our talk about knife skills. Red onion, nice and fine. And we would even slice the beans a little.

Maybe one, two, three slices, long-wise. If you don't want to get into that, you can just halve the bean. All right? And then we would toss that into a bowl with some sliced fennel also, and maybe some fennel fronds. And to that mix, we would add sort of like a mayonnaise-based, I think what it was, was an emulsified Dijon stone ground mustard. Sorry, I'm trying to remember this from college off the top of my head. Stone ground mustard and then, you know, some kind of emulsification. We would use the mustard.

We would add champagne vinegar, and then we would emulsify that with olive oil. So in other words, we'd blend it with a stick blender and slowly drizzle in olive oil until it got nice and creamy. And we'd toss that whole thing together and create an incredible spring cold salad, you know. If I were to do it today, I would take that mix and right before I served it, I would put a giant, two big handfuls of arugula in a bowl, toss all of it together, and serve it that way. You could get away with even adding some apple. You could get away with even adding some walnut, making it like a Waldorf salad plus.

You know what I mean? I like those kind of mornings.

You know what I mean? Those are my kind of mornings. And on one such morning, I started writing an article because I've been putting together a book called Poetry for Men because I think those two wires need to touch. Do you know what I mean? Anyhow, within that book, I did write a little bit of a poem here called The Beast Derelict,

It's in my mind, even when it isn't speaking. I know it's lost. This labyrinth has baffled us all. No Minotaur. Why did they bring him here? Born to a planet that condemns him, a destitute prince of some ghostly kingdom. So powerful his reign, they claim it circles the planet.

Choking on a lifetime of words never spoken, the phrases sharpen with time, lodging in the flesh of the beast's throat. His skull lay fractured. Decades of digging around in the gray.
