Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening here to pay the end. You will pay us back the stability here. All your power PBN family welcome in where's the damn camera at? I'm looking dead ahead cameras over here all your power today We've got a we're gonna talk about that. We're gonna get into sort of You know How it is you can make have the most effect? in your life with things that you probably think are
Starting point is 00:00:58 What may be probably things that you neglect, you know things that you you just Either don't take advantage of struggle to take advantage of so on and so forth This came to mind, you know, there's a to some degree a sense of powerlessness amongst people as big events take place on the news and elections and warfare We talked about the path back to stability self-reliance all that stuff and You know What gets lost in that is some of the more simple things not easy but simple
Starting point is 00:01:33 That I want to talk about today But it's a club sandwich of a show because there's war there's rumors of war there's bacon to be discussed. There is uh Today's incredible sponsor pack fresh usa Link down below pack fresh usa Okay food storage Of all kinds, you know, we're rolling into the growing season food preservation products made in the United States of America,
Starting point is 00:02:05 packfreshusa.com. Go to the website, even better, link down in the description below is our network link. Okay. I want to also thank our new members over the weekend. We got a influx of new members over the weekend. Welcome in. Thank you guys one such member was I'm gonna i'm gonna brag a little bit
Starting point is 00:02:29 Because it was it was a thing that's never happened to us before I got a new membership in this morning Came in over the weekend and I recognized the name And what it was was a member who was with us in 2021 who returned? didn't re-up in 22 returned in 25 and Yeah, you know who you are. Thank you for that. That's really cool. That's really cool. Morning Jay Fergan chat How's it going? We are we're on rumble. We're on Instagram. We're on X We're not on YouTube We're on X.
Starting point is 00:03:06 We're not on YouTube. I don't even know if we'll go back to be honest. I'm not sure, but that's the show folks today. We're going to get into a bunch of stuff, a bunch of stuff. Maybe, maybe we'll jump into. Yeah. I think why, why I got you early on, we'll jump into the, the kind of news that's on my mind and what we're going to discuss on tonight's show with the. So we've got a massive bombing that happened over the weekend in Ukraine, huge.
Starting point is 00:03:41 This is not slowing down. What's happening over there is not slowing down whatsoever. It doesn't matter how you feel about it or what you think about Donald Trump or don't think about Donald Trump. This is the reality of it. Russia seems to be boring forward. I think they're testing the will of the United States and Europe. I think that's exactly what's happening. We're gonna discuss it all. There are things happening in Romania that Dave Jones has a you know, just a real solid hold on because he knows a bunch of people there. That's setting the stage for a lot of this weird new they call it, what do they call it? The the coalition of the willing.
Starting point is 00:04:27 The end game man of all this I think is good you know I think Europe needs to be much more powerful militarily I think if you have a Europe that is much more powerful militarily you might not even have had a Ukrainian situation to begin with you know and I think you you know, that's the weird thing about the United States leading European policy through NATO and saying we're gonna put weapons here, we're gonna do this, we're gonna do that. From the European people's standpoint it's like, okay, but if you piss off people on our continent we have to deal with them. See they didn't
Starting point is 00:05:10 They didn't take ownership with that. So now trump is kind of forcing them to take ownership How will it go? I don't know but what i'm What you're going to hear a lot about? Uh, oh great. Excellent What you're going to hear a lot about? Um tonight is sort of the different aspects of the truce that Zelensky is calling for the war news and what's happening and of course what's happening in Romania as well. It's a big deal. It's crazy over there right now. It's not making the news because it's not warfare but yeah it's a big deal. So that's sort of the head up, you know what I mean, of what we're gonna do tonight.
Starting point is 00:05:47 The main topic for today though, fundamentally, is it's a tough one because it's about you and what you're willing to do. It's about you and what you're willing to sort of like parse out what you're willing to improve. Money is always front center, you know what I mean, of everything when it comes to sort of how we measure ourselves and are we doing good in life or not doing good in life. But I've been thinking about more important traits, traits that are actually,
Starting point is 00:06:27 traits that I, like money, you can live a good life through money and I'm not talking down about it at all or anything like that but I was thinking about physical strength. I was thinking about physical health. I was thinking about patience. endurance, your ability to endure discomfort. Those things right there, if you manage just those things right there, you can put yourself in a class that stands out immediately. Really. If you can be effective with the human body, you're not debilitated by never moving or always sitting
Starting point is 00:07:14 or not being in shape or health effects that come from that. If you're not debilitated by that, if you can develop a level of patience that allows you to deal with whatever it is, professional, personal stresses without blowing up. If you can build a personal endurance to sort of use those qualities longer than most people can use those qualities. You see what I mean? You start building, if you can endure suffering, which is kind of a patience thing, it's kind
Starting point is 00:07:52 of a strength thing, it's kind of a physical endurance thing, it's a mental endurance thing too. There's mental endurance. Patience and mental endurance, what are they? They're almost like the same. You know what I mean? Like how long mentally can I sustain this level of effort before I say? Alright I'm gonna
Starting point is 00:08:10 Scream or quit or whatever it is What's amazing about all those things is it are all up to you What's all that power is completely in your own hands right What's all that power is completely in your own hands. Right? It's completely up to you to decide how strong you want to get. It's not easy, like I said, it's simple. It's up to you how much you want to dedicate to your own personal endurance. How endured do you want to be?
Starting point is 00:08:41 I know there's a bunch of you out there going like, is this a show about triathlons or preparedness, or what is this that we're listening to? I mean, there's a reason we have a prep or fit and health section at pbnfamily.com. Because physical health and endurance make life better for you and everyone around you on top of it. Last thing you want to be, if I've learned anything in life, nobody
Starting point is 00:09:09 wants to be a burden. You know, if you're decent being a burden is even worse for you. It's the worst thing that could happen is to be a burden. But nobody wants to be a burden, you know? And physical strength, physical endurance, those things. I don't think my ringtone's loud enough. What do you think? Good God in heaven. Thanks, Nautica. Nautica has a sale going on in case you're wondering. So, you know, the other thing is effort and your willingness to do for others and like this is one that seems to be dissolving in the world right now your willingness to do for others because it's a it's lost in pride you know I think pride being one of the
Starting point is 00:10:02 seven deadly sins we paid more attention to it in time past. JP's over there in Instagram. What's up? Just saw somebody jump in over there on Instagram. Well, there's a bunch of people jumping in over there on Instagram, but a noticeable one. Sorry, I'm not paying attention to the Instagram chat. It's a little out of my purview.
Starting point is 00:10:22 It's a little out of my purview. Your willingness to go out of your way to do things for other people is an important one also. And it's one that feeds them and feeds you. Now, it's a weird one because you also have to put expectations on the people in your life also, or else they'll be like, you'll either make them feel bad or stop growing themselves, that kind of stuff. people in your life also or else they'll be like you really either make them feel bad or Stop growing themselves that kind of stuff
Starting point is 00:10:49 But there's something about Our society right now where it's like I don't know it's it's a prideful thing like oh, I can't do that for them because I'll look like this in other people's eyes You know what I mean you follow what I'm saying You see it a lot of relationships. It's it's one of those it's just pride You know what? I mean, it's a prideful thing. So I don't do I won't do that I'm not gonna do all of that and have them do this or you know what I mean the scorekeeping thing and all that
Starting point is 00:11:24 I'm just speaking to you from experience. What it looks like is if you put in the effort, it doesn't really go bad in the long run. You know what I mean? I think the majority of the reason that people don't put in effort at work, home in relationships those kinds of things with their kids Is they use pride as an excuse You know what? I mean, I think they use pride as an excuse because of the other things that we talked about Physical strength
Starting point is 00:12:02 endurance patience Mental strength that kind of stuff, your ability to endure real legitimate suffering. I think those things are hard. They're simple but they're hard, right? All those things are are reps, like everything in life. Everything in life is reps. I tell this to my kids all the time because they're young, they're doing new things, you know, they're ones learning drums the other ones playing Basketball more and all that kind of stuff and wanting to be really really good and
Starting point is 00:12:33 From my experience man It's all reps It's just reps like if you have a thing in your life and you're like I'm really doing bad at this or I want to be better at this it doesn't matter what it is it doesn't matter how crazy it is or how how insane it is that you're gonna try to get good at this thing it's just reps you have to build out some sort of system where you can put the reps in right if you can put the reps in it's? If you can put the reps in, it's inevitable. It is, it is frankly inevitable. It's not to say that you're going to be the best at it, but you're going to get good at it.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Everything's reps, you know? I shouldn't be here doing this right now. I should. Most of you, I mean, most of you listening probably through the audio podcast and the long pardon me term fans, you guys know, but a lot of you out there have no idea who this who this person is. I'm not, I wasn't born to be the guy who prepares the internet world for collapse, you know what I mean? Or homesteading or any of this stuff, you know? This is not my path at all.
Starting point is 00:13:52 But over more than a decade now, it's been reps. It's been a guy who was capable of very little, good at, you know, I was the opposite of a jack-of-all-trades, you know I mean I was good at like it two three things really good and Just number one getting Getting over all that getting over that big scary thing of telling the world that you're gonna do a thing and nobody expects You to be good at it and people expect you to fail at it
Starting point is 00:14:21 And you know, he's not that kind of person and all that kind of stuff. You have to be able to stand in the arena and face your critics up in the audience. This is critical. This is critical. This is one of the great facets of your power personally. You have to be able to say proudly, this is what I love and I'm going to do it. This is who I love and we're going to do it together. The same can be said about my wife. My group of friends, when I met my wife, they were
Starting point is 00:14:58 all like, this doesn't make any sense. Because to put it in its most simplest Terms like she was a good woman and I was not a good man and that was it back then and it didn't make sense You know what I mean? It didn't make sense to the people that knew me so You know you got a you got a decision to make do I Appease other people to go for what I want Go for what makes sense?
Starting point is 00:15:27 Go for what's going to win me the long term? But I think that one decision, that thing of being able to have the power to stand up to those things, to your own pride, to your own proud, you know, I will do this, won't do that, I refuse, you you know all that kind of stuff and also to stand up to the the critics in your life I think it's all born out of those characteristics that we talked about that are and the reason I'm talking about them is because they're well within your power to effect strength well within your power to affect you know, it's just a matter of reps again Right Endurance same thing
Starting point is 00:16:09 You know same thing well within your realm to affect it You might not have as much time as me or somebody else you might be strapped. You can't go to the gym We've got a whole series on kettlebells at PBN family.com.'s a $25 investment. You can get a 25 pound kettlebell for $25. I don't care who you are. I don't care how big you are, tall you are. You will be in better shape if you throw a 25 pound kettlebell around the right way. That simple. I could show you things that you could do with a 25 pound kettlebell that you know insane. Mental endurance, your ability to endure suffering, all these things will can be repped so that when you come into those situations in life where you're like I'm gonna do a thing, I'm
Starting point is 00:17:00 gonna do a thing that's gonna get some criticism. You can stand strong in that. This is just, this is very little to do with prepping and very a lot to do with living. Do you know what I mean? Living. Living the life that you should be living that you want to be living. Right? We've got to cut it because I can't do 20 minutes on this alone. We've got a lot to cover
Starting point is 00:17:27 You know if you want me to go on and on about this kind of stuff um I could do it easy. I i've run the the track several times. I know the deal But it's I don't know it was just something that was on my heart this morning I was thinking to myself that you know in a world where it feels like there's a lot of things we can affect There's a ton of things that we can affect like you have tremendous power to affect who who and what you become over the next year If you remember you should be taking advantage of our march routine Right came out last week
Starting point is 00:18:04 We got some serious stuff in there, spiritually, physically, mentally, all that kind of stuff that will run these routines all year and I assure you they'll help you with strength, endurance, your ability to suffer, your soul and spirit, right? You know, just trying to do you one better. Just trying to do you one better. Just trying to do you one better. It is it is time to get into the SHTF chef though. Let's take a break from the deep and the terrifying and the existential.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Oh, Jor-8 just in time, just in time, Jor-8 over there on Instagram. Okay, let's get in. All right. Boom. Let me get my head out of the way. We're doing something fun today. I don't know why, but spring feels like a good time to do this. Can I go down at the bottom right? I don't have a bottom right setting. It'd be cool if I could just drag my head. So what you've got before ye, what you see before ye is a basic cure recipe. Okay, you're looking at a basic cure. There's a section down below about pork belly for bacon because we're going to talk about bacon in the process But what's important about this is the first three ingredients I meant to bring my basic cure over here I forgot sorry
Starting point is 00:19:34 It's a weird looking little pink satchel It's in like a ziploc big ziploc bag. You know what I mean, but This basic cure right here is so important for everybody to have it's easy you know what I mean it's an easy thing to put together the secret with the cure is I gave you a real easy one one pound to one cup to eight teaspoons one pound salt one pound or one cup of sugar eight teaspoons of pink salt it's an easy one to put together and just keep it it's salt and sugar it will hold until it will outlive all your Generations, do you know what I mean? Like there's no need to sit around and go when I'm ready to cure something
Starting point is 00:20:16 I'm gonna make the basic cure It's real easy to just make a big bunch of the Q. You can do five pounds. Five pounds, five cups, and whatever five times eight teaspoons is, I don't know. But it's an easy one. Put it together, you keep it. So that way, when you happen upon one of those delicious three to five pound pork bellies
Starting point is 00:20:41 at the supermarket or the butcher, whatever, or if you do some slaughtering of pigs in the spring I don't know you've got all that you need to make to at least to cure your own bacon you know I know that the curing thing people aren't into the curing thing get into the curing thing okay like like you should know how to cure me why first of, it's wonderful. But second of all, this is how meat stays. This is how meat has stayed over time. This is how you make sure that if you have meat, you can store it in a cool, dry place for a long time.
Starting point is 00:21:20 I don't mean a refrigerator. I mean a world without refrigeration, right? You can hang meat for a long time in a cool dry place whether you got a root cellar or a basement or you know something along those lines and In the worst-case scenario, you don't want to say well that meat freezer I have That meat freezer that I have filled to the brim We're in a long-term power outage, my generator's running out of gas,
Starting point is 00:21:47 we're gonna either have to eat all that meat, or we're gonna throw it away. You never want to be in that position, right? Curing along with canning is one of the best ways to deal with it. So, curing bacon is cake. It's so easy, it's silly to even talk about how.
Starting point is 00:22:08 You take your basic, Jor-Aid says best to render some of the fat prior to cure it all. He's talking about rendering some of the, I've never done that before. Could try it, I don't know. I like the fat in my bacon a lot, so I don't render anything. But it's something to try. Jor-8 is a food aficionado over there in Portugal and a prepper himself. Jay Fergan chat says, I want to try curing bacon. It's been on the list for awhile. It's very easy.
Starting point is 00:22:37 The harder part is cold smoking it really, to be honest with you, which is not that hard either, depending on what you got. The cure goes on seven days. Take your pan, your dish, whatever you're going to cure in late, just sprinkle cure across the bottom, right? Put the bacon in on top of that cure flesh side down, sprinkle more cure on top. You know, get coverage across the whole thing. Don't bury it, but get coverage across the whole thing. Don't bury it, but get coverage across the whole thing. You know
Starting point is 00:23:07 Cover that with saran wrap into the fridge about three days flip it over Make sure it's all covered in cures still another four days go about seven days total. Okay, and And you'll be in business. I'm gonna give you a I'm gonna give you a resource that's worth its weight in gold So along with your basic dry cure You got this right here, okay Michael Roman Brian Paulson was the name Paulson Paulson Brian Paulson The charcuterie book okay when this book came out oh and the forward
Starting point is 00:23:47 was written by who I think is probably the best chef of all time Thomas Keller maybe not of all time but of recent times Thomas Keller my hero growing up in chef world when this book came out every chef had to have it this is one of those books you know what I mean it was one of those books that when it came out every chef had to have it and now I recommend it to every prepper because it's all about preserving and smoking and salting and curing meat. It's simple to the point, great diagrams, great recipes, easy, easy stuff that you know we just don't do anymore. Curing salmon, making sausage, all that kind of stuff Essential, right? So get your hands on that if if this topic really sort of gets you excited get your hands on that
Starting point is 00:24:37 Joy it says you can also use nitrate based greens to help it cure Isn't that like why they use celery and stuff like that? I Greens to help it cure. Isn't that like why they use celery and stuff like that? I Don't know. I keep it simple. I do it the way we've always done it pink salt sugar salt pink salt sugar salt and In for a week and then you just gotta You've got a cold smoke your bacon so you don't hot so you don't throw your bacon in a smoker like a norm. I'd love to know what's so absolutely incredibly important right now that I have to be getting emails and all shipment
Starting point is 00:25:12 is on its way. Sorry, guys. See, now what will happen is I'll turn my ringtone off and then everybody for the rest of the day will be like, why don't you answer your phone? ringtone off and then everybody for the rest of the day I'll be like why don't you answer your phone I am being tortured by this cell phone here all right so that's it shtf chef get into the basic cure you can cure all kinds of stuff but we're gonna focus on bacon today because we're not doing a shtf
Starting point is 00:25:43 show a shf chef show what else we could probably go out from here right i did have an article here that is probably worth talking about where are we at i think we got to talk about it because we're going to do this show tonight on russia and ukraine with joe uh Joe Rogan. Yeah, that's who's coming on tonight. Don't miss it with Dave Jones the NBC guy and He's got a great take like I said on Romain Romania, he's got a great take on the military that kind of thing I'm wondering sort of where his heads at. I haven't really talked to him that much lately. It's been busy So, you know, of course I'm gonna love that. But we'll talk all things
Starting point is 00:26:29 focused on that war. But there's another war that seems to be brewing and I went over to my buddy Michael Snyder to see what he's was thinking about. A lot of times when I'm thinking about things like I'm thinking like the war in Russia and Ukraine is a serious serious problem Like I I really do think it's a serious issue. I don't think it's something that we've got locked up I don't think it's something we've got taken care of
Starting point is 00:26:56 I don't even feel super confident that Europe's gonna roll in and and be like will handle it, you know I have serious concerns about the war. So I went over to see what Michael's thinking about, because a lot of times we're on the similar wavelength. He was thinking about something completely different. He wrote an article, why does hardly anyone seem to realize that we're literally on the brink of war with Iran?
Starting point is 00:27:23 And just not something I've been thinking about, not something even in my purview. Right? He says the Iranians have the eight largest military in the entire planet. Big deal. Um, on Friday, president Trump revealed that he has issued a very chilling ultimatum to the Iranians, right? issued a very chilling ultimatum to the Iranians, right? President Trump on Friday revealed that he has sent a letter to Iran warning that it can either make a deal with Washington DC on its nuclear program or
Starting point is 00:27:53 face the US militarily. This is what Khomeini said. I said, I hope you're going to negotiate because it's going to be a lot better for Iran. I'm sorry, Trump told Fox Business about his letter to Khomeini. There are two ways Iran can be handled militarily or you make a deal, he said. I'd prefer to make a deal
Starting point is 00:28:17 because I'm not looking to hurt Iran. US President Donald Trump said on Friday that something related to Iran is going to happen very soon. He says, quote unquote, we have a situation with Iran that something's going to happen very, very soon. Very soon, very, very soon. You'll be talking about that pretty soon, I guess. And hopefully we can have a deal.
Starting point is 00:28:37 You know, I'm not speaking out of strength or weakness. I'm just saying I'd rather see a peace deal than the other option, but the other will solve the problem. So this is a huge story. This is obviously a massive story, and it has everything to do with the fact that I switched this custom layout situation here. It has everything to do with nukes, if I had to guess. It's nuclear. That's what it is. It's the nuclear proliferation of Iran or Iran's hand in the Gaza situation or both. And I
Starting point is 00:29:17 think what Donald Trump's trying to mitigate is Israel's move, right? Like what? It's ugly over there, folks. It's, you know, it feels really good. I don't wanna get into this like, get prepared now. Don't be silly. Get prepared now. Don't take your foot off the gas, man. Like this is a thing I'm seeing When I tell you guys this I'm not just saying like
Starting point is 00:29:50 Because really we're doing great the Pete Prepper broadcasting networks doing great. We're growing all the time But the people who sell prepper related things I'm talking to the people who you know Make a living off of that kind of stuff blogs They're seeing decreases in traffic not our just are like people that we know intimately, but others and it's it's one of those things where it's like I Can't figure it out. I can't figure it out What what the equation is that people have to see certain things on the news and then go? Okay, we're good We can stop doing the things that we need to be doing.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Why is my thing frozen? You know, I'm saying now is not the time to drag ass, if you will. Now is the time to keep it moving and. Yeah, keep it moving. Let's do it. You know, all we got to do is just put in the reps. Put in the reps. Put in the reps like we always talk about.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Your garden's going in, your firearms training, all that kind of stuff. Just put in the reps. I think that's the best answer. That's what it seems like to me. Because when one door closes, another door opens, and you think about that from an opportunity standpoint, but you also and you think about that from opportunity standpoint But you also need to think about that from the standpoint of like it's a big wide world and we're all connected You know, we haven't heard much from China China is another one that's gonna be a
Starting point is 00:31:16 Big thing to deal with we got tariffs going out on everybody across the country like disruptions are coming We don't know what the economy is going to do. Everything Donald Trump says sounds real good, but you know the deal, right? A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. I've learned that the hard way many times in my life, folks. Don't you do it too. You know what I mean? The one thing I can tell you is with food prices being up, with the cost of living being
Starting point is 00:31:50 up, when you have buckets of food stored away in pack fresh USA Mylar bags, 7 mil Mylar bags, when you have that kind of stuff, when you've invested in food storage and in oils and frozen butter and in all chickens for eggs like when you've invested in those things you become so resilient to this kind of stuff because you're not paying those prices you're not you're even with dry goods staples gotta go get pasta we don't have to go get putt we mean what do you run out to get possible get pasta coming out of our ears Rice, you know these kind of things. Yeah, the prices go up you lock them in you store them away You lock them in it doesn't have to be the end of the world But you got the price is locked in because you put food storage up
Starting point is 00:32:39 We're using food storage in my house That's a to me. That's a metric. Do you know what my house. That's a, to me that's a metric. You know what I mean? That's a metric. You should use some of it anyway, but like, we're using it to not spend the money at the supermarket for things that are overpriced. We weren't doing that four years ago, two, three years ago. We weren't doing that. You know what I mean? It was more of a, let's rotate this food intentionally.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Now it's like, I'm not buying that. I've got it. We're not wasting money on that. Do with that what you will. These are the metrics that I use. But above all, folks, remember the power that you have. Like I said, Iran, war, Ukraine, Russia, this and that and the other thing like it can be very overwhelming. You got your own personal problems.
Starting point is 00:33:32 But what you also have is tremendous power to create this into what you want it to be. And people will see it and people will admire it and it will spread like ripples in a pond. You know, that's just how it works. You have to be able to stand up to the people who are just losers. You know, they just want you to be like them. They're the ones that will say, you're not going to make it, you're not going to do it. Why are you doing that? That's a weird thing. That's a different thing. You know, whatever. Just got to have the bravery to stand up to that and then continue down the path do the reps I'll see you guys tomorrow night. No, I'll see you guys tonight 9 p.m. East. I'm a little off
