Oh I hated this stuff growing up Absolutely hated it Thought it was the worst invention of all time I don't know what it is I've been drinking it now You know This water crisis in Richmond, Virginia Pes in comparison to the Palisades and what's happening on the West Coast.

But it all is a stark reminder of the fact that Americans at large seemingly are unprepared. and it's kind of like an alpha and omega situation. Or you've got a water situation on the East Coast. You've got a – where's my hand? You've got a fire situation on the West Coast. I'm surprised at the death toll. I don't know if the death toll is what it's going to be over there on the West Coast. But look, I've come to this conclusion, folks. You got to understand, I'm a guy who has been thinking about Americans getting prepared for a decade at least.

seven to eight years i've been trying to figure out what is it that motivates people to move from the the idea of uh week to week survival like to move from that mentality to you know what we're going to get prepared and we're going to be ready for things what is it that makes people do that kind of stuff i mean there are big events like these, but even big events like these tend to people get back on the horse and get back into sort of that, you know, convenient and comfortable lifestyle of everything's delivered just in time delivery. Excuse me. So on and so forth. delivery, excuse me, so on and so forth. And you find yourself again in this situation, right, where another calamity pops up and everybody goes like, I don't know what to do.

I don't know what's going on. Security system. Security system is going on. So what we should have any minute now. Oh, here we go. Okay. What we should have any minute now. Oh, here we go. Okay. What we should have any minute now I'm going to share my screen. Sorry, just mind the dog. And they know exactly what time I go live and when to start yapping.

You know what I mean? I was going to listen to this water crisis update from Richmond. We have some beautiful artwork in the background here. So they're not quite there yet. They're getting things ready. But I wanted to listen to this update with you guys and see what they say. I thought it would be fun to... But you know how government is, right? Government, they're like, update at 12.

So they'll probably be really filling us in by about 12.30. So they may not make the cut. It is what it is. I think most people are overthinking preparedness. I think most people are overthinking preparedness. It's occurred to me that like six to eight cases of bottled water puts you in a position where this whole situation that's unfolding in Richmond right now becomes a non-issue, really. You know what I mean? A non-issue.

Maybe if you add to that a little bit of water storage outside what is going on with the camera here can i not screen share this let me see if i can make it full screen wow what's the problem there we go that That's better. Again, it puts you in this situation where you realize that we fundamentally are overthinking this whole preparedness idea. I think it's the screen share that's creating an issue here. All I hear is people laughing in the background anyway, so we'll pause it until it matters. I'll take a guess and I'll say we got at least five minutes, so I'll go over my monologue and maybe show the month, I was saying, you know, get prepared for three months of chaos at the end of the year. Well, actually around election time, I was saying, get ready for three months, three months, three months, three months. And maybe at,

maybe what I was doing there was a little too much for the average person, because what I'm coming to realize is that. If we're talking about day to day. Emergencies disasters. Natural disasters. Oops. We screwed something up here. With the water system.

That kind of stuff. It really is like minimal preparedness. That you need to get through. You know, like I used to kind of laugh about a 72 hour kit. Now I'm looking around at the things that are happening in the world and I'm saying to myself, you know. A 72 hour kit would really solve the vast majority of problems people are having right now. And maybe not necessarily a kit, but a 72 hour supply of essential items and essential food and water, right? Essentials. And where I think we might be overthinking it as preppers is or I'm sorry, as Americans at large is to me, it seems like if we can't do it big enough, then we don't do it. What's up, Jay Fur?

Good afternoon. We're going to watch this water crisis update here soon. If we can't do it big, we don't do it. And I think that's what a lot of people's preparedness gripe is. If I can't get the backpack I want, if I can't put six months of food up, if I can't buy the bucket of meals, what I'm here to tell you today is maybe time to focus on the little by little. I used to say anything is better than nothing. There was a point in Prepper Broadcasting Network history where anything is better than nothing. There was a point in Prepper Broadcasting Network history

where anything is better than nothing was a little phrase that I was using a lot. And that's really what this moment in American history with emergencies and disasters is showing us. Every little thing is better than nothing I think people get overwhelmed when they start to think about the apocalyptic I think they get overwhelmed when they start to think about what is happening on the west coast right now with the fires

and then they do nothing you know but a go bag and a mentality to go along with it would put you take a ton like tons of people would be out of harm's way. You know, a plan, a very minimal plan. If fires are here, then we leave, you know, create that line in the sand or create that plan inside your household. So you don't what's really dangerous in terms of

taking action physical action particularly leaving your headquarters is when you just kind of fly by the seat of your pants when you go you we're gonna leave we're prepared to leave but i'll decide when we leave. You know what I mean? Way better to put in some real hard triggers. You put some real hard triggers in play, and then all of a sudden you can do something. Let's see if they're talking yet. No, still an empty podium. Still an empty podium six minutes in. Don't worry.

Nobody's concerned let me let me move forward in the video wow how can government always be late i feel it one is one of the most disrespectful things when you tell the public that you're going to be there to update them look we're sitting pretty you know what i mean we're going to be there to update them, look, we're sitting pretty. You know what I mean? We're not in trouble. I can only empathize with the people who are really suffering, who are really going through stuff right now, who haven't had water in days. We've got another snowstorm on the way Saturday.

You're thinking, I'm going to have no power, and I'm going to have no water. Wonderful, right? This is what people are worried about. And then the government tells you, we're going to give you a water crisis update at noon. And it's six minutes into noon. And we got guys fumbling around with microphones. Noon is not when you start setting up. This is what I don't understand. Noon is not when you start setting up this is what i don't understand noon is not the time for the guy with the goofy glasses to come set up the microphones noon is when you told the public there's an update you know what i mean how mad would you be i have i mean what i have to say i think some of you value but largely this is entertainment

like how mad would you be if my show went live and i was like let's get this thing i don't fix this i'm gonna go over here and do this and i spent the first 20 nobody would watch i spent the first 20 minutes of the show fixing and crafting i'd maybe do my hair get the what in what world do you feel good about how do you have an how do you have i'll show you what's going on because it's hilarious how do you have an update uh scheduled for noon everybody's here there's people yakking and coughing in the background. And this is where we're at. Oh, he must have left. There was a fella up here getting the microphones ready.

If I'm the mayor and my people haven't had water in four days, I'm here an hour early. Get microphones read get everything ready let's double check triple check the information let's make sure that we can tell the people what it is they want to hear because people got serious concerns the last thing they want to do is show up and see some guy fumbling they don't know fumbling with microphones i don't know what to tell you you know this is the state of affairs with government just is what it is um yeah i'm going to show you something right now i'm going to show you something i'm going to show you a yeah we might as well why not. Why not? Let's bring it up. I've been thinking about this overthinking business.

I've been overthinking about overthinking. And I definitely thought about this water situation. What's a prep in this water situation that would really make a difference? You know what I mean? So let's look inside the cache. I'm going to show you a little something. Give me one second to bring it up here. Now, what this would present.

I haven't used mine. I have a titanium camping cup in my car. This is greentipsurplus.com is GreenTipSurplus.com. GreenTipSurplus.com. These guys got all kinds of cool stuff, but these canteen cups go a long way. And in a boil water emergency, these are a very interesting thing to have on hand. are a very interesting thing to have on hand because whether you have a gas stove or whether you have an electric stove or whatever means you're using to boil water uh you can boil it right in the canteen cup you can make tea directly in the canteen cup you could make

shit you could make coffee in the in the canteen cup if you wanted to if you had the right things um but this gives you an opportunity to cut out sort of a middle piece of the puzzle you know what i mean it gives you the ability to boil water directly over flame directly over electric heat whatever it is if you're in a water crisis if i were in a water crisis and i wasn't prepared and i was boiling water to drink in the dead of winter you better believe i'm drinking warm fluids right and i wasn't prepared and i was boiling water to drink in the dead of winter you better believe i'm drinking warm fluids right and i'm throwing water into this canteen cup putting it on uh you have like two or four of these things and everybody in your house can be drinking hot beverages hot cocoa coffee tea whatever now all of sudden, it's a lot better than,

all right, let's boil a bunch of water and let's chill the water or put it in bottles. I don't even know if people have glass bottles anymore. You know what I mean? That kind of thing. And again, this is a what? What do they charge for one of these? Nine bucks or something?

This is a $ prep right these canteen cups 11 bucks and uh i mean it solves all kinds of problems for you both you know you go camping and that kind of thing but also in a crisis like this a boil water crisis we still have no one no no one from the government has popped their head out to say anything about what's happening i don't know why i don't know why i'm surprised i mean it's government but you know you get to the point where you're four days into a situation the virginia department of health is going to have a field day um because we know that things were just i mean they're just so wrong inspections that went terribly wrong at the water treatment facility all kinds of stuff crazy stuff backup

powers multiple layers of backup power failed i'm guessing maintenance i'm you know people are asking here in richmond why did the generators fail well have you ever gone out and tried to pull a generator to start when it hasn't been on in a year you know what i mean is the fuel old what what what kind of generators are there what is the maintenance in the upkeep on generators? Everyone's very confused. Largely, to me, this looks like an instance of someone or several people had a job to do, and they were both unmotivated to do the job and they were they were probably underqualified to do the job. And after years and years of things going to dust that under the rug so we can leave early. You have a wholesale failure that affects Richmond City and now three other counties. You know, the quiet quitting thing, the DEI hiring thing, like there are consequences.

Not everybody stocks shelves at Kroger. Some jobs you got to do good at. You know what I mean? Right before I got on the show, I was trying to record something for the members for family gear. Everything went poorly, so I couldn't do it. I'm going to do it after. But what I'm going to give you a breakdown of is another one of these kind of simple preps. I hear ruffling and shuffling oh danny hey danny

let's listen we'll get to the solo in just a sec sounds like we're going to get good news. Can you guys hear it all right? It's kind of low for me. What the plan is to actually lift the boiled water advisory. This is a two step test. Right. So the first step is now that we're fully pressurized, we will test multiple samples across the system. Those have to be sent to the lab, looked at the lab and then 16 hours. If that test is that well, that 16 hours hours after that we do a second round of samples the goal is two consecutive negative tests 16 hours apart and that is a point at which we can raise this boiled water

advisory we if all goes well we should be able to do that tomorrow or early Saturday so really hoping for good results here. Knowing that this is, as I said yesterday, a very low probability. Well, the system is up to full pressure, so that's really essential for us. But we need to work through the testing protocols with our partners. That means everybody's getting water. Everybody's getting water pressure. Just some statistics. We're up 19 filters are up five water pumps pumping uh 72 million gallons a day uh and remember that's well above what this is this gig guys ninth day is mayor by the way he must be ready to strangle lavar stoney

we have a full reservoir that's what ultimately led to us getting to LeVar Stoney. We have a full reservoir. That's what ultimately led to us getting to pressure across the system at this point. And that's been validated by a lot of the anecdotal reports. I think even at about 10 a.m. this morning, we still had parts of the far reaches of eastern Henrico that hadn't had full pressure, but we're starting to hear that that's all getting better now. So we have started the first test, right, where we pull multiple samples.

Those are in process. Okay. That's all I needed. I don't need to listen to any more. So we are in a situation now where the water is up to full pressure. Everybody's going to get distribution. So the people without water are going to have water. The people with low pressure are going to get the pressure back today.

And then I guess by about tomorrow, maybe even midday, probably late in the day, the boil water notice will be lifted. They'll do their two samples of the water, make sure there's not anything in there that's going to start making people sick. And my guess is it'll be just in time for the snow to start to fall and people will be happy and joyous and the system will be turned back to what we all expect as people who pay taxes in a modern city in America. And we can put this water crisis behind us, hopefully. Hopefully. Like I said, minimal preps in the Walton household made this really pretty much a none issue. And that's really what I want for the average American. You know what I mean? What I want for the average American is to have minimal water, minimal food preps at the very least.

Maybe even minimal medical and medication preps to get themselves in a situation where when these services go down, you're not running for the hills five minutes into the situation. That's what it was. It was water shut off and people are going, well, if water shut off, that means I have zero droplets of water and they're taking off you know what i mean to go remedy that you don't want to be there man you don't want to be there um so let me give you a little peek let me give you a little peek of the solo one man 24 plus hour survival kit from lima Tango survival and awesome piece of gear, man. And all the time it takes for you to do that, you're left unprepared. You have to have what you need to solve problems. The kids and the wife come to you to say, Dad, the supermarkets have been closed. We're hungry. Good to know. Let's crack into the emergency food storage, right? Let's go into the pantry and pick out what we want to eat because we've been buying a little extra food every time we go to the supermarket, a little can, a little box, a little this, a little that, maybe even a little frozen, right?

And now you have the ability to deal with the crisis. And it doesn't feel like... You ask my kids what their experience with the boil water notice situation is, and they're going to say, I don't know. We watched the news. Oh, we had to brush our teeth with bottled water. That's probably the most inconvenience that they felt. You know what I mean? This is what you want.

This is what you want, and it's well within reach. Yesterday's show, I talked about how much money we spent on water and water preps to get us through this situation. It was probably less than $25. Don't fantasize about saving and spending a big chunk of money and then pushing that down the road, kicking that can down the road, or you wind up spending days, weeks, maybe months unprepared, okay? You can buy a single gallon of water at the supermarket for probably a dollar.

Now, that doesn't sound like anything. That might not feel real good. Do that every other week. Do that every other week. Do that every other week. In a year, you got 25 extra gallons of water. You know what I mean? This is the mentality. This is the mentality.
