We are your lizard overlords.
Stop listening to these preppers.
Eat your crickets.
Fight in the streets.
Own nothing.
And love it.
Well, good day, PBN family.
An eventful morning has brought me too late to the party a bit.
Late to the party a bit, but still much partying to be done. We're talking about recession prepping, Great
Depression prepping. Fundamentally, what I want to talk to you about in short today is
getting free stuff. Not our free stuff. You can always get our free stuff.
But there's just a lot of free opportunity out there.
I don't know if you take advantage of it.
I don't know if you happen about yard sales at the end of the day.
Yard sailing is a big thing in my neck of the woods, man.
I don't know if you frequent the Facebook marketplace I don't know if you visit Craigslist's free section
But what I can tell you for sure is
If you're willing to drive
If you're willing to make some contacts
If you're willing to reach out to people you don't know
If you're safe about it If you've got a pickup truck or a trailer, there's a
whole hell of a lot of possibilities out there for you on the free side of prepping.
And I'm not talking about PDFs.
I'm not talking about things you can download.
I'm talking about building things. I'm talking about about things you can download. I'm talking about building things.
I'm talking about making things that make a difference. I'm talking about finding things
that, you know, maybe you could never afford. Something I missed out on a couple weeks ago.
I've been wanting to build an outside charcoal stove, essentially, out of brick. And someone was giving away
basically all the brick that I needed. And I just didn't get around to getting it done.
I went after some slate. I didn't get a call back on the slate. So what's important to
understand is you will find things, you'll reach out, and sometimes you didn't get a call back on the slate. So what's important to understand is you'll find
things, you'll reach out, and sometimes you won't get things. Sometimes you just won't get them.
But when you do, it's a big win, man, and it's free. It's National Preparedness Month. You might
as well go for it. One thing that seems to be a staple, at least in my neck of the woods and i'm sure
uh if you look around you'll find them as well are pallets and you know pallet building is a
thing you can build a lot of stuff from pallets uh and i see them all the time i see them all
the time pallets to be picked up pallets youets, you know, that are 100% free.
You come and haul them.
You can build chicken coops.
You can build all kinds of stuff with them.
I've seen a guy build a, like an outdoor sauna with pallets.
Playhouses with pallets.
Sheds with pallets.
You can build any decks.
You can build anything with pallets.
Free prepping is a thing.
Years ago, I talked to you about the window closing on prepping. I talked to you about the idea that this prepping phase is going to get harder and harder as time goes on, not because
like some maniacal forces up against you but
because the cost of doing business goes up the cost of things goes up you know what i mean and
what has happened though and what you need to think about and what you need to take advantage of
is that america has gone through a serious time of plenty a serious time of convenience a serious time of
affordability and consumerism and the average american has way more cussing items than they need
right and they're trying to make room they're trying to get rid of them they're trying to sell
them and uh oh thrift shops as well thr Thrift shops are the king of it all.
If you could find a good thrift, some thrift shops you walk into and they're just like overpriced.
Like you'd be better off going to a regular retailer.
You need to find those thrift shops that exist where things are just insanely underpriced.
And they exist, man.
They most certainly exist.
So look for the deals.
Look for the deals.
Look for the steals.
Know how to get the freebies.
Because a lot of building can be done.
A lot of things that you tell yourself you can't do because of money can be done with the freebies.
I know this because I see some freebies
that I should be taking advantage of that I don't.
So keep that in mind.
Dave Jones, the NBC guy,
I think may have single-handedly created
an entirely new show for PBS.
I think this Prepper tip of the day business Especially the way he's doing it now
He's got them down to like a minute
I think that's something I want to add to the network
You guys give me what you think about that
I really like a stand alone One to two minute prep or tip of the
day, five days a week, maybe even seven days a week. You know, they can be batch produced,
so that's kind of easy, but we may continue on. This may be a new tradition for PBN all the time.
You know, so in other words, between shows or something like that, you get a prepper
tip of the day.
It would be a standalone podcast in and of itself.
But we got more than, I know between us all, we've got way more than 365 prepper tips.
That sounds like a lot, but it's not really that many.
I mean, Dave and I are probably going to crank out 60 this month alone.
And I'm doing it in passing.
You know what I mean?
I haven't sat down and created a prep or tip spreadsheet or anything like that.
So I've got a lot of good ones too.
I don't know.
Sorry, I'm trying to put my cup, coffee cup back.
It's fall here.
Today is fall.
Today I've got the button-up shirt on.
I've got the coffee.
There's leaves falling already.
It's here.
They call them the burr months.
We used to call them the months that end in R or the oyster months
because now's the time where you start eating good oysters.
You start getting good oysters.
What else? Prepping cheap and free, man. You can do it. Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace,
search free. Local, go to yard sales at the end of the day. And if you're looking for cheap, yard sales are great. Go to the rich the rich neighborhoods yard sales at rich neighborhoods
you can get incredible deals um and incredible stuff um and then find that those over the top
thrift shops man find those top tier thrift shops that get the job done for you because they're
they're essential they're essential in life like I don't buy brand new dinner tables.
Dinner table's finished.
I go to a thrift shop close to me.
I get a beautiful dining room table,
usually one that can be leafed out several sections
so we can have big Thanksgivings, big Christmases,
all that kind of stuff.
And, you know, it's rare that I spend over $100.
You've got to seek these places out guys you know if if if we're headed in the direction i think we are which is the
the impossibility of returning to price normalcy and it really seems that way no matter what
you know it seems like even if donald trump gets in and starts fracking and drilling and everything i mean it'll cut prices but i don't know i don't know that our
backs are not going to be broken by what we've done with immigration and so on in the country
and war and printing of money right it's inevitable we know if kamala gets in and does price cussing.
We'll call it price cussing.
If she does price cussing, then there's no doubt that everything's going to be screwed up.
You know, those things have proven themselves time and time again to collapse everything.
Economies at large. You know, the moment the government tells a retailer to sell a thing at a certain price, it's over.
You got Venezuela, right?
We are running shows up at Rumble, folks, if you want to get into that.
It's Urban Survival over there at Rumble.
What else do we got today?
What is today anyway?
Tuesday.
I haven't heard from L. Douglas Hogan.
Not sure if there'll be a Rising Republic.
If we go deep into the day without another show,
I may pull one from the archives
because we have some wonderful shows, man.
We have such good shows.
My dog's eyes are locked on a deer right now.
It must be a deer.
Oh, yep, there he goes.
And he's taking off.
Oh, no, he was locked up on the white chicken.
Please don't eat any of my chickens, Link.
They're under attack as is.
We're going to build a PVC scarecrow.
A la... the next generation i'm sorry a la pint-sized prepping projects if you remember that i'm gonna do that today get out from under there girl
one of my dogs just ran underneath the shed come on get out from under that shed.
She looks like a demon crawling out from hell.
Are you stuck?
Oh, boy.
She's playing under there at her own risk.
Raccoons, possums, snakes.
I don't know what's under there.
She's having a blast. Okay, folks, listen,
take advantage of National Preparedness Month, okay? It's a big deal. It's a big time. There's
a lot of things one can do to be more prepared, all right? From planting to building to,
you know, even something as simple. Last year, for example, I think it was
last year. It might have been two years ago. I installed all kinds of gaskets around my doors
to assure that, you know, we're going to maximize our heat, whatever method of heat we're using,
right? Maximizing insulation in the home. Windows.
Doors.
All that kind of stuff.
Of course that's prepping.
The management of resources undoubtedly.
Right?
So there are tons of things that can be done this time of year.
Probably one of the biggest things you need to prepare for.
Is the leaf.
You know.
You've got a decision to make.
The moment these leaves start falling.
And they're in my yard already.
Like the fall leaves are here.
The leaves haven't changed, but they're here.
You have to make a decision whether you want to rake all this gold up.
And put it in the trash bags and have people collect it or take it to the dump.
Or do you want to rake it all into a compost pile
and make compost? Now, to me, it's a no-brainer. But, you know, you got to make that decision.
You got to build a little bit of infrastructure to hold all these leaves and grass clippings. And,
you know, now is the time because you get the grass and the leaves. You get the green and you get the brown. the leaves you get the green and you get the brown and when you mix the green and the brown that's how you get the cooking
with the compost so yeah i mean fundamentally now's the time figure all that out and if you
want a sustainably sustainable way there's really no better way to sustainably feed your garden than
composting creating compost tea, putting compost into your
garden beds, that kind of thing. Prepping is everywhere if you know what to look for, all right?
