You're listening to PBM.
You're playing back the stability. pbn family what a day it is rainy fall day again the lavender candle is burning the studio is dark
the coffee mug is warm and well, it's not really full. I'm drinking something
very special today and I want to tell you about it. Okay. We're going to talk about
winning your mind, saving your mind, the battle for your mind. Um, because this is a thing,
you know, this is a war that is happening all the time
to probably everyone around you,
and we're going to talk about it and how to win it today.
We do the Commander's Challenge several times throughout the year,
and it's as much for me as it is for you,
and it's all about this.
It always is.
this. It always is. I have an incredible Ethiopian Sedama in my cup right now from disastercoffee.com. Our newest coffee, F5. Yes, F5, aptly named. A beautiful label on it. It's
got a little tornado rushing towards the home. And this is some wonderful stuff.
We tested it about a month ago,
settled on the F5 name to go with, you know,
we've got our Category 6, we've got our F5,
we've got our pandemic, we've got our numerous,
our civil unrest.
We've got all kinds of emergencies and disasters
broken down into coffee.
Because that's our thing.
DisasterCoffee.com
But the new F5 is unbelievable.
The new F5 is a
let's have a taste.
Yeah, the new
there is a weird taste to it. It is
the berry. It is definitely the
sort of back-end berry taste.
The sort of little bit almost like the tannic aspects of something like chocolate,
the tannic aspects of berry.
Awesome.
Absolutely awesome.
Great coffee.
Wonderful.
Incredible.
Lovely.
Great.
DisasterCoffee.com.
Okay.
Hurricane Prep. Look. This is the thing guys no matter what
happens in the next few days
the United States is getting hit with a hurricane
and the hurricane is going to run up
off the
you know the
you don't want to call it the east coast
but it's going to run up through a lot of the southeast and know, the, you don't want to call it the East Coast, but it's going to run up through
a lot of the Southeast. And it's, now's the time. This is a fast moving storm. I don't,
I'm not going to give you like a weather report because I don't know what the hell I'm talking
about, but I'm watching it. I'm watching it very closely because it's of its path.
It's not going to affect my state or my family in particular, but it's going to affect a lot of things.
Now is the time.
By time, this time tomorrow, particularly if you're in, like, Florida,
it's going to be go time.
So now we figure out what it is we can do while we have a little bit of time.
I mean, I don't know.
It could be too late in Florida already.
People could be out buying all the water up already.
Looks like the panhandle's probably going to get it.
And this is, you know, I have to assume this is nothing new,
particularly if you're in Florida,
particularly if you listen to us, right?
But now's the time to shore those things up, you know,
back up power stuff.
Also to shore up evacuation, you know.
Probably one of the best things you can do is ponder evacuation and say to yourself what—
because the unknown is what we have to go off of now.
We have the unknown.
Could it spin up real fast into something powerful that I watched a report today that said a Category 3 when it makes landfall?
It's no joke.
But what if it doesn't? What if it turns said a Category 3, when it makes landfall, it's no joke. But what if it doesn't?
What if it turns into a Category 4?
It's going over very warm water, very little impedance.
What if it spins up to a Category 4 and then smashes into the panhandle of Florida and we have a Michael?
Again, was Michael 4?
I don't remember, but it was bad.
So one of the things to ponder is the worst case, you know?
The worst case, we get out of here.
Where are we going?
Do we have gas to get there?
Do we have money to pay for it if we're staying in a, you know?
If we're going east, I think the best bet for people in Florida right now
would probably be to go east.
Yeah, you know, all those things. you know all those things now's the time now's the time
so wrap your head around that because it's real what's up garden girl in the live chat i got
element open because there's all kinds of cool stuff going on in element at all times. I see the Drudge Report is dead.
It's over. It's finished.
I looked at the Drudge Report today.
A lot of times I'd pop on the Drudge Report before a show
and give you information. It's over.
There's ten stories in a row of what a monster Donald Trump is.
There's zero stories about anything concerning Kamala Harris's reign of power.
So to me, you know, it's a compromised news site.
It's over for me.
It's not something I'm going to visit anymore.
And I oftentimes, and I want to apologize to the folks who post in Element.
The folks who post in Element, there's three stories in our World War 3 bunker
There's two stories in our tinfoil helicopter landing pad
There's all kinds of stories littered throughout this thing
That I haven't even read yet
Or I've seen them and not given them the time that they deserve
And, you know, it's one of those things where like
And it all has to do with this concept today.
We overthink everything.
We have this amazing, powerful, incredible, unstoppable brain.
And we burn ourselves out overthinking everything.
That's it.
We're always overthinking.
We're always this and that and the other thing.
What happened?
I don't know if you're like that.
I'll plan to do a thing,
and then I'll think six steps down the line
what that will mean to the people, the person.
What will they think I'm thinking?
What will I think when I think of what they might think that I'm thinking?
And before you know it, you're in this rabbit hole.
With everything that's going on, we have to be very careful about these rabbit holes.
You know what I mean?
I want to welcome in some new Lifetime members, by the way. I want to welcome in some new Lifers.
I sent an email blast out yesterday. There is a link to Lifetime membership down below.
For the next, what do we got? Three, four, five, six days. For the next six days,
What do we got?
Three, four, five, six days.
For the next six days, we're going to be offering lifetime membership to all.
Yeah.
Get it.
Get it while you can.
If it goes haywire, you know, well, whatever.
So you got six days.
Let's go with that.
Lifetime membership, $250.
Yeah, that's a lot of money.
You can pay in a half now, pay half later.
We're working that angle out too.
If you want to pay in silver, I'll take it.
I'm not opposed to it.
If you want to pay, if you want to make an offer, make an offer.
Have fun. Let's have fun.
Life is short. We're all going to die.
There's no doubt about it. We're all going to die.
There are people around me right now suffering, man.
There are people around you suffering.
We see the tail end of life. We know what the hell it is.
You know?
Fundamentally, I want to get the bills paid and have a good time.
And my good time doesn't mean, you know,
swilling whiskey and screaming and barking at the moon.
It's not my kind of good time. And I don't want to sit here and explain my kind of good time to you either because i'll tell you
right now like a a blank page with a blinking uh vertical line a blank white page on my computer
with a blinking vertical line a lit candle a cup of disaster, and like two hours of free time, that's just as much a good
time to me as almost anything else. Truthfully, just write something, anything. No responsibility,
no deadline, nothing. Just open up that whatever opens up, you know, that creative portal that exists in your head somewhere and let it flow.
Love it.
So anyhow, link down below.
Lifetime membership.
One-time payment.
Done for good.
Unless you want to split it into two.
Completely understandable.
Many of you have reached out.
I really appreciate it.
It's a testament to what we do here.
Our incredible audience. Our incredible hosts. It's
just, you know, it is what it is. Let's talk about the battle. Let's talk about the battle
for your mind. I've been feeling strange lately. Overwhelmed, fundamentally. You know know been feeling life the fit like the routine of life has changed
my focuses in life have changed a lot a lot a lot of variables a lot of changes big things on the
horizon we got prepper camp now bearing down on us that's been on my mind for two months
just started that you know broke the business up into three parts, brought Andrew and Phil on.
It's been a lot.
And what happens when you're in a lot is you start to think a lot.
And you start to think about yesterday and tomorrow and not enough about today. You start to ponder yesterday and tomorrow. And not enough about today.
You start to ponder yesterday and tomorrow.
One of the things about the phone addictions and the computer addictions and the VR addictions and the video game addictions.
Right?
The screen.
What the screen does is gobbles up the here and now.
That's what it does.
The screen forever gobbles up the here and now. That's what it does. The screen forever gobbles up the here and now.
If a parent has a screen, what are they doing?
They're looking at news.
They're looking at DIY.
They're looking at tomorrow fundamentally.
You can utilize a phone in that way to live in tomorrow.
Or maybe you're into history or you're reading about things that haven't happened in the past,
conspiracy and so on.
All your time is then spent in yesterday.
You're living in yesterday or you're living in tomorrow.
Same thing with video games, right?
One of the trickiest things video games ever did is they created milestones and achievements, right?
And they even reward you for these things.
Like, oh, you play X amount of games, you get this free hat for your character or whatever.
So, again, you got the kids in the same mentality, right?
The same idea.
I'm living in tomorrow.
I got to get through this game and then I got three more after this and then I'll get that reward.
You know, it's not just kids.
There's plenty of adults who are fighting in video games for rewards.
I'm one of them.
I'm playing a Warhammer game right now.
It's so much fun.
It's unbelievable.
And it's the same thing.
I don't knock anybody.
I don't demonize anything fundamentally around technology.
Because, number one, we created it, right? And number two, everybody knows it now. Nobody's like,
huh? These technologies are addicting, right? You know what I mean? Everybody knows it.
And if we are to move forward as a species, we have to figure it out.
We have to figure out how to regulate it. You know, if our kids are to move forward in the society,
they also have to figure out how to regulate it. Of course, as parents, we have to show them how
to regulate it. But at the same time, like, they've got to find that part in themselves, too,
because you won't always be there.
You know what I mean?
You're not always going to be there.
Hey, get on that damn phone.
Eventually they're going to be sitting in an apartment.
They're going to be like, ooh, I got a bit of a tummy ache.
Maybe I should call out of work and spend the day grinding on this mobile phone game.
That's their challenge. Every generation has a challenge, right?
It's all part of the deal. It's all part of the package. But what are we talking about?
We're talking about the future now. We're talking about tomorrow. We're worried about yesterday.
We're worried about tomorrow. You can't sustain that. That's the problem.
Not only can you not sustain that,
but then your instinct also tells you,
I spent the whole day today worried about tomorrow,
and now today is gone.
So now I got to stress about that.
And if today is gone,
well, sooner or later it'll be tomorrow,
and then I'll be worried about yesterday going bad.
Because of the information at our fingertips, because of the things that we can do and we aspire to do,
and because we are at such an incredible peak moment for humanity, never forget it.
Yes, we have incredible things going wrong in this country, amazing things I never would have fathomed.
Amazing things that if you would just take the body cams off police and let them do what they need to do, a lot of it would really stop.
Hard to believe.
You talk about crime and gangs and all this kind of stuff, if we gave them electrified batons
and took the body cams off,
I think they could probably turn things around
in a lot of these cities, you know?
You might not like that.
That might make you feel some kind of way.
I don't know.
But I'm just telling you.
You know, these are the facts.
You show up to a nation
and the cops have to pussyfoot around.
They're not allowed to do what they can do.
And you can do whatever you want to do.
You can kick them while they're down on the ground.
Well, guess what's going to happen?
You know, what you see happening is exactly what's going to happen.
But if the cops treated these Venezuelan and Haitian and whatever gang members
the same way they treated the Irish when they arrived, right?
With a billy club over the head when they got drunk and disorderly, then, yeah, people stay in line.
See, we make believe that we, in America, fundamentally, this is our problem with crime,
fundamentally in America, we think because we've abandoned men and masculinity that we
can't import it either right like we think that oh
men are evolving to a higher form where violence and aggression and all that kind of stuff is
just going to go away right and we make believe that this stuff is real until we see it on the
internet or television and then we go like oh and instead
of being like oh yeah that's part of the deal some people need help getting that out of their system
we go oh god i wonder what happened to him as a child can't be his fault right
you want crime to go down get rid of the body cams
You want crime to go down Get rid of the body cams
Wrap your head around the fact
That not every cop
Is out to just shoot minorities
Okay
Because guess what guys
If all cops were just
Like briefed
On how to shoot a minority
It'd be a lot more dead minorities
You know what I'm saying
It would be a lot more dead minorities. You know what I'm saying?
It would be a thing.
I don't know.
That's my take.
I would never want to be surveilled doing my job.
I would do it terrible.
If I put a live cam on my laptop here and did my show and did my writing and then worked out and did all kinds of stuff.
And had to have a camera follow me the whole time, you know? No thanks. Why do you think we don't do video here at PBN?
I like the audio, you know? I'm a big fan of the audio. So what we have to do,
if you want a battle for your brain, if you want the battle for your mind
to be victorious, if you want to understand that
we're living in a time where there is chaos, it is a beautiful time.
We're living in a time and a moment in history where almost every level,
it's not that every level has threats for the first time. It's not that the kids are in danger
and the elderly is in danger and the population is in danger. Like this is humanity, right?
This is human life over the course.
The dangers are different.
The dangers are less, right?
Probably the most dangerous thing to a child nowadays, in all honesty, to their life is
them.
That's where we're at, right?
It's not like roaming bands of monstrous creatures are going to show up
and just macerate children in the streets.
The greatest danger to a child nowadays is likely himself or herself
because that's the society that we've built now, right?
It's like, oh, life gets hard.
That exit, that emergency exit looks kind of nice.
exit looks kind of nice. So we have to recognize that the threats and the issues and the calamities and the chaos and the problems that need solving are just part of the human condition.
We can't think our way and worry our way out of these things. So what we have to do is step outside of it all. And this takes practice. Step outside of
it all and look around, man. You got to look around at the world and how it's happening.
Look around, look at the candlelight flicker and say, oh, that candlelight is flickering right here
and right now. And then the only thing, the only jump you have to make from there is,
this is my real life.
This is my real life right now.
Me talking into this microphone with you, with this great coffee,
this is life.
Life is not what might, could, should happen in the next two weeks, five weeks, two years,
10 years, 20 years, 50 years, 60 years. This morning I was driving. There's a lot of old
people in my life going through a lot of struggles right now. Not like necessarily
tied to me by family or blood, although that's some of it, but there's a lot of people who are
getting to the age where the worst things in the world are happening to them.
Death is staring them in the face.
They're losing people who have propped them up their whole life,
you know, spouses.
You know what I was thinking about?
And this idea just flooded into my head.
I said, you know, I really hope that when my sons are older,
they have someone to take care of them. You know what I really hope that when my sons are older, they have someone to take care of them.
You know what I mean? And then I grabbed a hold of that thought and I started thinking like, dude,
what are you doing? You are jumping forward 60 years to worry about something right now.
You are taking a 60-year leap to find something to worry about right now
rather than enjoying the moment.
And we're all guilty of that.
We all do that stuff.
We all spend time like, oh my God.
The whole network, right?
Everybody is worried about what's going to happen in November.
And many people will worry their way through October
and be like, what happened in October?
I don't know.
I was too busy thinking about yesterday and tomorrow
that I didn't spend any time in today.
It's wild.
I'm telling you this, and we're doing this show because I've been doing this.
I've gotten away from prayer too much, especially during the day. My night prayer is
always good. But I've gotten away from a lot of that meditation and prayer. I've gotten away from
right now is happening. Here and now is happening. And it's because I'm busy, you know?
And I'm waiting for this to happen, waiting for that, hoping this, praying, right?
And you get to that point where it's like you forget.
You forget the most important thing.
It's the flickering candle.
It's the reminder that this is what's happening now.
It's the snoring dog behind you, right?
It's the cooing baby in the bassinet, whatever situation you're in.
It's the cooing baby in the bassin Whatever situation you're in It's the crackling fire
And when you hear those things happening
In the here and now
You have to make that jump
Like I'm telling you
That jump
This is my life
For some people
I get to jump into this life
And this is a really nice life
Thank you
Thank you all
Some people make that jump And they wind up in hell.
They come out of whatever it is they're doing and they go, oh my God, this is my life.
Are you kidding me? Right? And I got news for you guys. Like if you're one of those people and
you're saying to yourself, yeah, I like being distracted because when I come back to what my
life is, it sucks. I got news for you, man. You got two choices.
You know?
You can avoid your sucky life,
or you can stare your life in the face and say,
we're going to change it.
And guess how we change it in the here and now?
You don't change it tomorrow, and you don't change it yesterday.
You change it in the here and now.
Follow me?
I know it's a lot.
It's heavy. I mean, this is what I do. I don't
know what to tell you. This is what I do. I hope you can understand that. That nub says podcast
addictions. Yeah, that's funny, man. Yeah, they're a thing. No doubt about it.
Everything has addictive properties, right?
The only difference is some people get addicted to good things.
There's a ton of people who are addicted to making money.
And we look at those people and we go like, God, look how rich he is.
He's so successful.
Or you could be like a person like me who's addicted to running and stuff.
I'm addicted to a lot of physical pursuits.
And you can be like, man, he's really in shape.
I mean, that helps.
I mean, that's part of it.
But he might also be really addicted to running in the woods and listening to audiobooks.
You know what I mean?
PrebinPatriot in chat says, I'm one of those people.
Satisfactory has me hooked.
Yeah, it's a thing, man.
It's a thing.
And it's not a thing until we make it a thing.
Then it becomes a thing.
If we can look at it objectively, like that nub, right?
That nub's saying podcast addictions, right?
Prep and Patriot's looking at it objectively, yeah.
If you can look at it objectively and you say like,
oh, I'm doing that too much, I need to do that less.
And then you do it less.
And then you're like, oh, that's the end of that.
It's what happens when you start dreaming and daydreaming
and oh, I'm doing this too much and I don't know.
What happens if I keep doing it?
And what happens in five years if I'm still doing it?
What happens if I...
Right?
You take no action, and you just live in the future.
You just live out there.
You know what I mean?
It's, uh...
It all comes down to driving.
Getting back in the driver's seat of your brain.
You have to get back in the driver's seat of your brain.
Right? Sad Guru's a guy I like to listen to. I've taken a long break from him too. Don't ask me why.
It's just, it's weird how things get knocked off course in life and you don't even realize it.
But I haven't been listening to him a lot. He really helped me in 2020, big time.
But he had an old phrase that he would say.
He would say, money in the wallet is fine and sex in the body is fine.
Only when they get in the mind do they become a problem.
And I think that's a great way to look at two really big parts of people's lives
that they spend all kinds of time worrying about, right? It's a reminder of that, right? If you're
thinking about it too much, you're probably thinking about it too much. I don't know, guys,
but we have to be aware of this stuff because it's a crazy time.
There is so much to think about.
If you're raising a family or if you have a large family or if you have things to worry about that are familial and family-related,
you already have a world of things to think about, to worry about, all of the above.
world of things to think about, to worry about, you know, all of the above.
This age of information that we're living in, where we can find out like, so what did Ukraine do yesterday? And what did Israel do today? And what happened in Italy? And what happened in China
and Russia and China were running? What kind of military drills were they running? Oh, and Russia
launched a Satan 2 and it didn't work out? And what happened with, not to mention like 50 states of news, right? All that stuff, it's just
puts you in the yesterday or tomorrow mindset, right? Oh, what happened yesterday? Oh my God,
you wouldn't believe what happened yesterday. Well, what could happen tomorrow? Well, let's
think about what could happen tomorrow. And then before you know it, it's 10 p.m. You're going to bed. And you're like, what is my life?
What is my life? Like, what the hell is going on here in this life? I forget. And add to that
cacophony like Candy Crush, you know what I mean? Or words with friends, you know what I mean? You add to that several addictions slash distractions.
And before you know it, you don't have a life.
You don't have a life.
You have yesterday, you have tomorrow,
and you have distractions and dinner and laundry and bed.
So my goal for you, PBN family, is to smell the roses today, okay?
Check out the leaves beginning to change.
Look in your backyard.
They're on the ground probably in many places.
Watch the flickering candle.
Listen to the kids snoring in bed.
Listen to, you know what I mean, the things that are happening in our life now.
Drink the coffee and just drink the coffee.
in our life now.
Drink the coffee and just drink the coffee.
Stand there
or sit there with your mug
and sip the coffee
and think about it
and go,
oh my God,
what is that?
Oh, I see.
There's a lot of profile
in this,
you know,
the profile of this coffee.
There's a lot going on.
And enjoy the sweetness of life.
Because if you're not enjoying the sweetness of life,
then what are you doing?
Right?
I was going to talk to you.
Where are we at here?
I get on these topics.
It's just, whew.
So, Prepper Camp this year is going to have its challenges.
There's no doubt about it.
We did a whole show on it last night. The closer this hurricane gets, the more minimalist my setup is going to be.
And one of the things that I'm going to do is to probably pre-cook some food,
probably pre-cook some stewy, soupy goodness. I guess I'll probably buy a sleeve
of like styrofoam bowls and spoons because I will share. That nub says, gather ye rosebuds, man,
no doubt about it. Yeah, exactly right. Gather ye rosebuds. It's very important.
Gather ye rosebuds.
It's very important.
While ye may.
What's that?
What is that?
To the virgins.
That's a, I don't, I can't off the top of my head. Robert Herrick.
Wow.
To the virgins to make much of time.
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may. Old time is still a-flying,
and this same flower that smiles today, tomorrow will be dying.
Hoochah, I just heard this thing. Did I read this?
I don't know if I read you this one or if I just heard somebody read this one.
One more because it's really good.
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun, the higher he's a getting,
the sooner will his race be run and the nearer he'd be setting.
All the way back then, 1674, Robert Herrick died
and he also understood like Carpe carpe diem, baby.
Yeah.
Or maybe, you know what, I did watch The Dead Poets Society the other night.
Maybe that's where I heard it.
Anyhow, thanks, Nub.
That was nice.
So I want to talk to you about a Commander Stew,
and then we'll call it a night, a little SHTF chef for you guys, okay?
A little SHTF chef.
I don't have the old, uh, or do I, do I, or don't I
see if it comes up with L because I did create a specific soundbite for this and it is kind of fun.
Let's go to 50. Let's go to 50 and run the SHTF chef's soundbite.
Now that is a delicious cut of long pork.
All right, so SHTF Chef Commander's Prepper Camp Stew.
This is what I have in mind on a rainy day like this going into a rainy evening.
Or into a rainy week, rather. Sorry.
Something's telling me lamb, but it'll probably be beef.
Though lamb stew meat is really good stuff.
Something about the red wine and the lamb when the weather's like this is there's perfection in it you know
what i mean uh but for me you know the way these things kind of pan out the way they work out in my
head is a nice big dutch oven or big pot to do what you're doing high heat hard sear on your meat, be it diced beef or diced lamb or whatever.
Sear, drain your fat.
Keep your fat, by the way, but drain your fat.
Remove the meat and then sweat.
The sweating process begins in a stew like this.
I don't know. I think I think I will do onion, garlic, plentiful garlic and carrot.
Right. Diced carrot, sliced garlic, nice and thick slice to, you know, like I want to have a I want to i want a slice of garlic in my bowl like i don't
want it to be minced and disappear i would like to be like oh look at that big slice of garlic in
there so over a pretty low heat you're going to start the sweating process there's fond
on the pot at this point because you've seared the meat and fond is just that kind of
burnt on not burnt but browned on uh residual meat in fond is just that kind of burnt on, not burnt, but browned on residual meat in the pot.
The onions will begin to release moisture, the carrots, all that kind of stuff, and some of that fond will come off.
Season those vegetables, salt and pepper.
You season at every level, right?
So you season your meat, you season your vegetables, boom, you add your...
After we get the sweating process finished, what's the sweating process? How do you know when it's done? You're not browning anything in a sweat. You're sweating it. You're releasing
the moisture and you want onions to go translucent, garlic to get soft, carrots to become a little
soft. And then you're going to deglaze the whole thing with red wine,
copious amounts of red wine.
See, when comfort food is required,
it's when you go as French as possible, in my opinion.
So copious amounts of red wine.
And reduce.
Maybe reduce by about half and then add equal parts of beef stock, lamb stock, whatever.
Add your lamb back in.
I'm thinking to this you could do like a white bean.
That wouldn't be bad. But what I'm thinking is probably more could do like a white bean. That wouldn't be bad.
But what I'm thinking is probably more along the lines of potato.
Maybe like a red skin.
You know, red skin potato.
Probably some sprigs of rosemary.
And let that thing rock.
I think that's about it.
Yeah.
Oh, you know what else too?
Maybe like a handful.
Maybe like 10 or so black peppercorns And let that thing rock
Until your meat is
You know super tender
Potatoes cook through
Carrots cook through
Carrots can be like a little mushy
I don't mind them like a little
Getting ready to be mushy
And then it's on to the roux
It's on to the roux I It's on to the roux. I don't know how
you do roux. I've done, I've talked about roux on the SHTF Chef before, but it's just essentially a,
a butter and flour mixture. You know, you melt the butter, whisk in the flour, let it cook for,
you know, 30 seconds, something like that, depending on what kind of roux you're doing.
flour, let it cook for, you know, 30 seconds, something like that, depending on what kind of roux you're doing. For me, it'll be a 30 second to a minute cook. I'll remove it. And then I'll
take, once the roux is hot and off the flame, I'll start to take a ladle of my cooking liquid
and add it to the small pot with the roux in it. And that will thicken up almost immediately.
And then I'll do another ladle immediately and then i'll do another ladle
and then i'll do another ladle until i get a something that i can pour back into the stew
take the stew off the heat add the rue ruey gruely mixture right in and uh
and then whisk it or whatever i gotta do Probably not whisk too vigorously because you have, you know,
meat that could come apart and all that kind of stuff until it thickens.
You'll watch it thicken and say, okay, here we are.
Then we've got this delicious thickened,
roux-thickened beef stew or lamb stew with carrots, potatoes,
and then at the very end, I'll probably do more chopped rosemary,
chopped fresh thyme. Put it in a mason jar once it's cooled down. You know, the stew is one of
those things that if you can avoid eating it that night, you're better off, like chili, you know.
I make chili sometimes the day before because it's just better.
It's better the next day.
I am like in a pot pie mood too, but I don't know how I'll pull that off on the go.
I don't know.
That might not be.
There are some ways that you can do it.
One of the ways you can do sort of like an on-the-go pot pie is you can puff,
puff pastry, lids for your pot pie, is you can puff puff pastry lids for your pot pie. You can pre-cook puff pastry, right?
Now, you got to know what you're serving it in, but you can pre-cook the puff pastry,
put it in a Tupperware container, you know, like cut puff pastry into circles the size of the bowl
that you're going to eat out of, Or maybe just a little smaller, right?
Thanks, Nub.
I appreciate everything, my man.
I will talk to you soon.
You pre-cut and pre-cook the puff pastry.
Then you make your pot pie filling.
Put that in a mason jar, right?
Then you can bring that stuff up to a simmer, pour it into the bowl. You take
your pre-cooked puff pastry top, sit it into the bowl of hot filling, and, you know, give it five
minutes. And the bottom layer will start to get soft. The top layer will still be flaky and
delicious, and you can have a sort of a quick pot pie, no oven, no way to do that kind of thing.
The garden girl says she's got some pot pie filling of her own pre-canned.
Yeah, that's the way to go, man.
Stay ahead of the game.
All right, folks.
