Welcome to PBN1.
Soggy winter morning.
Soggy winter morning.
Before we get started, let's make the most of this thing.
Let's get comfy.
Seated.
Laying.
Lotus.
Whatever you like.
And start breathing deeply.
Because today our goal is to slow down the inertia of life.
This morning I woke up to a fox. Well, actually I woke up to a French bulldog barking
to get out back to go deal with a fox. It's a good thing she wasn't alone. And just like that the engine is revved breathing. Check the tension in your head, behind the eyes. Roll your jaw a little bit. I told you this before
the truth is
by about 10 o'clock
a.m.
11 o'clock
the latest
we've consumed a lifetime worth 11 o'clock, the latest.
We've consumed a lifetime worth of news,
images,
noises,
sounds,
radio, television,
people even.
And that's not even counting what happens in your own mind,
with your own thoughts, concerns, and so on.
I think basically by about 11 o'clock,
the average person is maxed by what they're capable of taking in.
maxed but what they're capable of taking in
so how do we slow that down
how do we take this life
and slow it way down
that's kind of what our goal is here at PBN1.
Now if you can focus on your breath you'll always have the ability to do that, even if
you can't find time. But there's another message. It's another method rather, not another message.
It's pretty effective.
You start to think of things as light switches.
But you have to really get, you know, aware of what's going on around you.
You've got to get aware of the noise, aware of your body, aware of the tension in your
neck and your upper back and all those things.
You need a position to breathe and remedy.
So now I want you to think about.
The what's front and center.
In your mind.
It doesn't have to be a thought.
It could be a noise.
It could be a.
Upcoming date. It could be a.
Anything.
Anything that's got you going.
At a million miles an hour.
And I want you to think about a light switch.
And you hit that switch.
And turn that off.
And the most important part when you turn it off
sometimes it works, sometimes it won't
is that if you do
get a brief respite
from that thought or that thing
breathe into it
a nice deep breath
and appreciate that layer
coming off appreciate that layer coming off.
Appreciate the speed dropping just a little.
And you can continue to do those things.
Even in the physical world, it helps.
Something running, fan running, TV on upstairs,
radio in another room,
lights,
all this stuff
combines.
All of this stuff revs you up
before you know it, you're going
way too fast.
You're out of control.
So you gotta shut off them lights.
You gotta shut off them thoughts sometimes.
Every little bit of noise and light, it's all stimulation.
Fundamentally, that's what you are. That's what we all are.
We're hyper-stimulated by 10 a.m.
And what follows is irritability.
So let's shut some switches off.
Let's take deep breath
Focus on that breath
Click the switch off
The switch of worry
What are you worrying about?
Money?
Holidays?
What are you worried?
Taking a deep breath and switch that off for now
Just for now
You'll come back to it, trust me.
Breathe it out.
And if you get some peace from that,
I want you to appreciate it.
I want you to make sure that your head and neck
and shoulders are relaxed.
That you're not carrying tension in there. Jaw line.
Nice and relaxed.
Deep breaths in and out. Continue one by one
TV, cell phones, iPads
Switch those thoughts off in your head
Or even in the physical world.
If you give yourself time to do this, you can slow it down.
It can make all the difference.
