You're listening to PBM.
Your path back to stability. I keep on moving forward.
Always getting closer.
March until it's over.
And just like a soldier.
I keep on moving forward.
Always getting closer.
I'm marching till it's over.
And just like a soldier.
I keep on moving forward.
Always getting closer.
Marching till it's over.
And just like a soldier. I keep on moving forward. Good morning PBNers, how are you doing on this beautiful but frigid morning? Yes, I said it, it is cold here in Middle Beach, South Carolina for once. I can tell you this, I know everybody else has been
dealing with this winter vortex as they call it and everything that's been going on around them.
I know many areas have been receiving more than their share of snow, along with the drop
in temps, which I'm sure quite a few will laugh when you hear that our high today is
of 30, oh, went up 39.
Our low tonight is of 20.
So for us, that's pretty, pretty cold.
Every now and then we'll, we'll get some freezing precipitation, some snow, some ice.
But it's not as common as what I am accustomed to from Mississippi and Arkansas.
So how are you staying warm?
So for us, and it was the same when I was at a condo, the issue is all the little cracks
everywhere.
Everyone thinks on the East Coast or even in the South that things stay warm.
No, we can get some cold temperatures.
Problem is, is how do you keep your house warm?
I would love to hear the take from many of my Northerners and many of my friends who
are in the South, such as Texas, who are getting bombarded with some frigid weather.
So for us, I'm actually looking at door strips.
Again, I've talked about previously,
I do want to obtain and get my hands on another kerosene heater.
Yes, kerosene can be costly, but they are amazing.
And I've had a kerosene heater be able to heat up
a good amount of space on very little kerosene fuel.
So let me real quick.
All right, I see me gray in the chat.
Hi, me gray.
So great to see you, buddy.
So great to see you, buddy.
So, you know, the temperatures have been dropping low enough that we've had to look at ways to keep the entire household, if not the family, warm. By bunking in a room altogether, by closing off everything else to try to centralize any warmth in one area. It's definitely
interesting. It makes you really think about your preps depending upon the region you're in. So for
me, we deal with a lot of warmer temperatures and, you know, humidity and such, but living in areas
like Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, we still experience snow and ice storms just like
anybody else. We get below freezing. I know last Christmas in Arkansas, we were frozen in
and that was fun driving across ice to get to Memphis. So it doesn't mean that we don't,
we just handle things a little differently. So for any of you that heard, uh, when I was on Toolman Tim's
live a while back, uh, we have shared the link in, Hey, I, Hey. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. Hey,
James. I saw it for a minute. That was me, Greg. And, um, we shared the link in the chat room, but for those of you who are not in the chat
and are missing out, definitely look up Toolman Tim. He is one of our hosts here on PBN. He also
does lives with Instagram, YouTube, Rumble. We're across the board, okay? Prepper Broadcasting
Network did get taken off of YouTube, but
they didn't like us speaking ill about the vaccines or Dr. Fauci, which, uh, yeah, he
admitted to making everything up. So how are we the ones who are going to be punished for Hmm. Go figure.
So, yeah, I'll probably end up on a rant with everything going on.
I had intentions to focus on cold, but that being said, I also had thoughts about everything else that was going on.
We'll go back to cold before I completely derail this entire show warmth all right so clothing are you making sure you have the proper clothing to stay warm
wool will keep you warm wool will also keep you cool during the summer because it does wick moisture
um cotton can kill in the sense that if you are sweating, it is going to hold that moisture
to your skin. So have you ever gone out and you started getting active and it's cold outside and
you're bundled up and you start sweating? Not the best thing to happen. You don't want to keep any
of that moisture to your body. It's going to cause your temperature to drop. You're going to have all the, you're going to open yourself up to infection and illness and, oh, Peppy. Okay. He is definitely staying warm. We've got a little
one with Tootsies near the fire. I miss having a working fireplace. When I moved into my place
here, they removed the top half of the chimneys so nobody can use the fireplaces because it was an air, you know, insurance issue,
which stinks because I grew up with a fireplace. I am absolutely jealous. Papi, what are the
temperatures over in your neck of the woods? Same with you, me, Gray, and James. I would love to see
what the varying temps are this morning. So same for us. We're not really going out if we don't have to.
There are things I'd like to do, but then again, I would prefer not to get myself or our baby out
into this weather. Unfortunately, my partner does have to work in this weather, in the cold,
working on pools. Yes. So 24 degrees right now. No, thank you. No, thank you at all. And you have snow, don't you? For those of you who don't know, James, our intrepid commander,
is the host of I Am Liberty and is the man who runs everything. Everything. He is an absolute badass.
So right now it says it's 33 and feels like 24 and our high today is supposed to be 39.
No more. I am right there with you. Rained and washed it away. Oh no, did it freeze to ice?
See, and that's another thing.
So I have been seeing on social media,
people posting these hacks on how to softly walk on snow,
where people put socks over their shoes.
I don't know if that works.
So if anyone's tried that, let me know.
Don't foresee us having snow or ice anytime soon. You know, again, I am all about winter wear, staying warm.
Think about what it is you have in your closet. If you have to get out and you break down,
what's going to keep you warm? We always keep extra blankets and pillows in our car.
We never know what's going to happen. This is typically a year-round thing for me just to have
that. I'd rather be safe than sorry. You know, I'd rather have it, not need it, than need it,
not have it. We all know that saying. Oh, got up to the 40s yesterday. Man, you got a heat wave, James. Full heat wave. But you've got to think about
how you're keeping everybody warm, right? So everybody sees James live on Instagram or
his videos, and he's usually always wearing his fur. And it is a wool multi-use hat or item that you can use. And wool, I'm all about it.
I push wool where I can.
If you're allergic to wool, fine.
Acrylic works, but there are other things, you know.
Keep in mind, make sure you have a good set of gloves.
Make sure you have a good hat or scarf or sweater or a coat or a way to line the inside
of your coat if your coat is not very heavy duty.
or a way to line the inside of your coat if your coat is not very heavy duty. I'll admit,
I didn't have a real winter coat for years. And the only reason I got a good one is down here,
the coats aren't very thick. I'm not going to lie. There's not much heft to them. There's not much warmth to them. They're like jackets for anybody else. So when we went up to Baltimore a couple years ago for
Thanksgiving, my partner was adamant that even if it doesn't get cold enough,
I have to own a real winter coat. And I am thankful I now do.
Oh, oh, for those of you who are in or not in chat, he did post a picture of him wearing the fur.
That man, I have to make you another one, especially with a puppy chewing on it.
We have to outfit your outfit, as my partner likes to say.
But they're warm.
They're comfortable.
Not all wool is scratchy.
Not all wool is made alike.
I mean, speaking of which, Garden Girl.
I don't know if she's in here.
She's probably not in here yet.
But shout out to Garden Girl.
I have something in mind for your morning jogs.
So you need to hit me up when you get a chance sometime.
I would like to throw something by you and see what you think.
And then we can go from there. Always trying to pull things out of my creativity bag. One, I love to crochet. I love
to stay busy. And two, if I'm not starting a new project while I'm finishing another one, am I
really happy? For any of you crafters out there, You understand that we're busybodies. We have to
have like six projects going on at once or we're going to implode. It's just the way it works.
Happy, did you say what, what your temp is currently? I didn't see it. I saw you typing
and then it stopped, but so yeah, you, you want to keep your little ones warm my little one right now is um we were up
super super early so he's crashed out in the middle of a big cozy bed tucked in all warm
i kind of want to be laying there right next to him unfortunately i'm one of those once i'm up
i'm up, I'm up.
And I am exhausted.
Let's see.
Darn.
I'm going to have to hit up Garden Girl because I hate that she's usually in here before I am asking me where I am.
Tsk, tsk, Garden Girl.
Tsk, tsk.
All right. But, yeah. So, I mean, garden girl. Tsk, tsk. Alright.
But yeah, so, I mean, I'm sitting here in a sweater and sweats, drinking my hot water,
because, well, I wanted hot water this morning instead of tea.
I drink room temperature water. I'll be honest with y'all, I can't do cold.
Not my thing.
And Phil,
Phil from Matter of Facts will agree with you. Cold is overrated to all of you who live further
up north. I commend you. I couldn't do it. Oh, so I'm going to jump off the topic for a second. I do
have someone, a friend of mine who is not a prepper by any means. I have, she's known me for
11 years now. We've been dear friends, we've been neighbors, and she is actually talking about
coming on and we're going to talk about prepping from the perspective of a non-prepper view set
and her ideas and thoughts on what she's witnessed over the years as someone who isn't a
prepper and how she's taken, you know, any of my tips or how she's viewed things or how she
agrees or disagrees with those. So I think that will be fun to have someone who never classified
herself as a prepper, was a prepper for a long time, to have her on here and get a outsider's
point of view. Because it's kind of interesting to see how someone else thinks about things. And
then, okay, how can I present this in a way for people who don't consider themselves preppers
to realize it is in their best interest to be preppers. You know, I want to reach out to
people and see what they do. Do you go out in the cold in the morning? No, no, I do not, James.
I have not stepped out of the house. I felt the cold air blow through the door because we've had
some strong winds when Chris went out. But beyond that, nope, nope, nope, nope. If I don't have to step out, I don't.
It keeps me warmer throughout the day when I get hit with the cold first thing.
It's like the cold water plunge.
I know.
Yeah.
More power to you, bro.
Power to you.
I enjoy a cold blast.
Every chance I get. Helps awaken.
Oh, Lord. You know, maybe if I'm bundled, it wouldn't be so bad. I did enjoy a cool air
evening walk yesterday, but I'm not one of those who likes to be cold first thing.
I think I have to kind of like jump it into the water. I have to work myself up to it.
I have to kind of like jump it into the water.
I have to work myself up to it.
Yeah, no.
I commend you, though.
I commend you.
It's good in the morning.
We'll see.
You know what?
I'll try it tomorrow morning.
I will definitely try it tomorrow morning. And if you get a, yeah, explicit, you know, not so nice text, then you know how it went.
I'll just have to make sure to harass you more about other things I need to get done.
Be like, quit advising people cold air in the morning.
It's not fun.
Oh, man. I'm over here trying to stay hydrated that is another thing stay hydrated folks it doesn't matter if you're not thirsty whether it's hot whether it's cold whether you're comfortable
you need to be staying hydrated you can get just as dehydrated during the cold as you can during
the heat okay you need to make sure. So your health,
you know, that's a big one we see in chat between James and Pappy and Garden Girl. And these three
are killing it with fitness. I wish I had your motivation and happier energy. I know if I worked
out more, I would have that energy, but stay hydrated. Your health is number one and colder temperatures lowers your
body temperature, which makes you more susceptible to illness. Okay. That's where we see a speak,
a peak or a spike in illnesses and colds and everything that's going around because
body temperatures drop because people may let you know become more susceptible their immune
system is slightly a little bit slower 29 in south louisiana oh we yep i think you're right
pappy mother nature's thermostat got to be broke yeah so again if you're not an element jump in there you're totally missing out james put a post of
squidward in an ice cube in the water and he said jayferg tomorrow morning absolutely that is
a hundred percent accurate 100 percent
i don't like being cold i don't i didn't like it when I was in training. I couldn't stand,
I can't stand my fingers or my feet getting cold. Hence why I am, yeah, no, I make sure I have hot
hands. Um, my mittens unfortunately got ruined, so I have to make me another set of mittens. I've
made myself some wool house slippers. I'm going to be working on making up a bunch of socks. So yeah, I can't,
I feel absolutely useless when my hands and feet get cold. I will. Yeah, no, it is the worst.
Uh-uh. But health, make sure you're taking your vitamins. Okay. Make sure you're
staying hydrated. You're eating well, you're physically active. Um, which kind of makes me
a little bit of a hip grip because I have skipped a few days on my vitamins. I've been a bit idle
when I'm not at work, but those are things I have to work on. Those are things I'm
actively trying to improve and make better and continue doing. I actually have an interview
coming up with another location just down the street from the house. Fingers crossed,
it could be something a lot better for my family and work with our schedule. It is far enough.
It's probably like a 20 minute walk.
Maybe not that with how fast I walk, maybe 10, 15 minutes, but it is bike riding distance.
So I am really looking at using this job to be able to ride my bike to and from work.
So that will be interesting as time goes on. If I get the position of,
you know, what then, how will, okay, so me and my partner have talked, if I get that job,
how will that change as far as what I carry? I'll leave the car at home so we have it for
emergencies, for the car seat base and everything. What will I carry in my backpack?
How will I carry, you know, that sort of thing. And of course, it's going to be dependent upon
temperatures. We're going to keep into factor all of those in the weather, but it's definitely
something to look forward to. I bought this bicycle. I'm really going to put my foot in my mouth on this one. I bought my bicycle two years ago.
Yeah, two years ago. And I bought that in case with gas prices were starting to soar. You were seeing a lot of issues with traffic.
I was working a good drive away from the house.
Not terribly far, but far enough.
Traffic was horrible.
But I wanted to get a bicycle as a secondary means of transportation because the fuel prices
were outrageous.
Outrageous. To the point there was a few times I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to afford gas from paycheck to paycheck
and bills and everything else. So I bought this bicycle with the intent of if I have to,
I can ride it to and from work. Well, lo and behold, other job opportunities came about and I didn't have
the job and I worked remote from home. But as time goes on with a little, this job I have
is taken more away from my family and I'm not, it's not fitting in the way that it should, unfortunately, especially with everything
that's going on. So we are looking at other opportunities, potentially better wages,
you know, and if this is something that will get me into drive to being more physically active
and doing more in that sense, then I'm, I'm all for what's going to be,
never said it's going to be easier, but it might be better all for fitness and health.
Let's see.
All right.
All right. Sorry, I was checking phones popping up on the other
on my other apps so I was just checking to see the message in
so I mean that's gonna be fun especially if I get the job it's still gonna be a bit chilly
oh James would that be something you'd like to see as I start posting what my bike ride gear is, right, for to and from work?
I imagine I won't be able to pedal well if I'm going to be totally bundled.
But then again, you've got to keep in mind, if you're physically active, you do get much warmer.
So that's a big one right there.
Sorry. All right. So I'm going to sidetrack.
I wanted to talk about cold weather.
I had all these plans, but I am seeing all of these things that are popping up in media and social media with the immigration, with society, with everything.
And I actually was introduced to, I knew this interview existed, but I really didn't listen to it.
I'm going to completely mess up his name.
completely mess up his name, but the, the interview with Yuri, uh, Benzo, uh, sorry,
Besmenzo, Benmenzo, sorry, I'm not sure how to pronounce that. The, the Russian who, um,
left the KGB, you know, this interview is very interesting only because he talks about a lot of things in ways that we didn't see.
He talks about how to collapse a society in an accelerated rate versus a normal progression
over time.
And it's interesting because I'm not saying that KGB is behind everything that's going
on, but it's interesting because these points make sense with a lot of what's going on.
And it's kind of scary if you think about it, because we see this radicalism in so many ways
with our society, with the, oh God, with schools take it over. You know what I saw in, where is it?
Oh, God. Would schools take it over? You know what I saw in, where is it, Washington State,
certain schools, the parents do not have to be notified if the school is treating and giving their child antidepressants. They can even go as early as, I think it's 11, 12, maybe 13,
I think it's 11, 12, maybe 13, for gender confirmation procedures. So against the parents,
the parents don't have to be notified. The parents don't have to have any say. This is where society is at. It is chaotic. It is ugly. It is an absolute shit pot. Okay. If this is not key enough for you to say, Hey, I need to get my stuff together and
just be ready for anything. I don't know how much more of a slap in the face you need.
We are seeing things turn from, okay, you know, love is love or how, whatever that saying was,
they had to, if you don't like me because you don't want to date a man dressed up as a woman
and you're a man, then you're a phobe. You have some sort of, you're a phobic, some sort of phobic.
And it's ridiculous. We are seeing it with the immigration system and our lovely president.
You see the air quotes here and how things are running. Texas is standing its ground.
I support Texas 100%.
I don't care if people agree with me.
I don't care if people don't agree with me.
This is my opinion.
I don't have to win people's votes.
I don't have to win people over.
I don't care because this is what it is.
Ooh, good gravy.
A balmy tin in the Northeast.
Forget that meagre.
Sorry, I'm going on my little rant here.
But you're seeing, you're seeing this.
You're seeing the issue with all these immigrants coming in.
I'm seeing where people on social media, the immigrants are angry because they're not being given work immediately
and they thought they could circumvent the entire system of everybody else who's trying to go about
becoming citizens legally. They are having fits about being in Chicago and New York and are
terrified they're going to freeze to death even though they're being given a warm place to shelter
in three hot meals a day. Half of us Americans, more than half of us Americans who are busting our asses, who are
working nonstop, working two, three jobs at a time.
These two, you know, two income, three income households between two people, we're barely
able to make two hot meals a day.
And unfortunately, it's very realistic.
So it's infuriating and aggravating to see people cry about not having the silver spoon.
Guess what, sweetheart?
Most of us didn't.
I grew up poor.
And I mean, I grew up poor.
I'm not ashamed about it.
It was just the way of things.
It was the way of life.
I knew we were poor growing up.
I didn't whine about it.
It was just what it was.
I understand things aren't going to be given to me in life, no matter how much I want them
in my heart or how much I throw a fit or cry or plead or whatever.
I have to work for what I have, and I have worked
for what I have. I worked for the life I had before. Everything got tore down for me to build
it back up again, and guess what? I'm going to keep doing that. Oh, hot cocoa. See, Pappy,
go say pappy i wish i had had grand parents you are probably the best best pappy anyone could ever have oh you're so awesome sorry i got sidetracked from my rant which was probably a good thing
because but it's it's just heartbreaking because i understand people want to escape what's going on, but guess what?
I don't get to escape life. Neither do you. Neither does anywhere else. I understand things are hard
and places are bad, but you know, going one place to come here to think it's going to make things
easier for you was an absolute misunderstanding of what you thought.
You thought wrong. You know, you see people who are asking now, asking to get tickets to go back
home because they're like, oh, this is unfair. We're not being treated humanely. Half of the
U.S. citizens aren't treated humanely.
Unfortunately, I'm sorry.
If you had came to America 10 years ago, 15 years ago, 20 years ago, it was a completely different nation.
And it's sad to say because I love being a U.S. citizen.
I love where I'm from.
I love who I am.
But it's not easy.
The freedoms that we have weren't just given to us. They were built on the backs of people who had to fight for what we have now.
Nothing is ever just free.
Ever.
And it goes to show with how chaotic things are right now,
things are only going to get harder. And this is why we prep. This is why we make sure we're
at the ready, whether it be vigilance when we go out to the store, because unfortunately,
sex trafficking, people being attacked is common. Maybe not as much as, you know, we think, but it does happen.
You have to be vigilant.
You have to be aware of what's going on in your surroundings.
The drug epidemics that are going on out here, you see a lot of heroin.
We see a lot of fentanyl, a lot of fentanyl.
So you don't want to touch things.
You know, you don't know what's going on. I know a girl who personally went out to a event, ended up a Jane Doe in a hospital because someone
slipped her fentanyl. It's, it's terrifying. And I knew the girl personally, I know the girl
personally, and she's fine now, but it's terrifying because you don't view things the same way after events like that.
You know, she was fortunate that nothing happened to her and she ended up in a hospital receiving
care, but not everybody's that fortunate. So we look at self-defense. That's a big one. If you do not have self-defense, you need to, whether it be
take a self-defense class. I'm all for our 2A rights. You know what? Take the class. If that's
what it takes for your state for you to be able to, take the class. Okay? I think everybody should
take a gun class at some point, just so if you're not familiar with guns, you get that.
class at some point, just so if you're not familiar with guns, you get that. Go shooting.
Practice. I'm all for defending yourself. You defend yourself, your family. It's just the way it should be. Let's see. I have taken Krav Maga. Great fitness, great self-defense. You practice
that. Those movements become habit and they teach you
that. They get your blood rushing so you understand what it's like to have to defend yourself in an
adrenaline type situation. I think it is amazing. You learn control. You learn precision and you
learn force. You learn how to use your own force. I think that's phenomenal. You need to be able to run through drills with your kids if someone's trying to break
into the house, if someone's trying to nab them.
You know, the kick, scream, run, you know, what is it?
Run, fight, run, hide, fight is a big one.
You know, you teach your children to run, to hide, and if they have to, fight.
You know, that was something I grew up with,
with self-defense. Okay. Unfortunately, I hate to say it. I half wonder if America has became
the new France with how everything is turning with all the immigrants. I'm not saying all
immigrants are bad, but it's making it hard for everybody else. And if the economy wasn't hard
enough, if working wasn't hard enough, if living, the cost
of living, the cost of food is only going up. It's not going down. And our rate of pay isn't going up
to try to match that cost of living. So it's only getting harder for us folks. I know you see it. I see it. I live it. You live it.
But self-defense is a big thing, okay?
Making sure you have food in your cabinet.
That's another one.
Make sure you can feed your family.
I understand times are tough.
You know what?
If other people can use these systems, I'm not saying to cheat the system, but there
is no shame that if you are hard on times
and hard on money and something's going to go short, go to a food bank, go to a food drive.
There's no shame in it. Okay. I've, I've done it. I won't hesitate to lie. I mean, I won't lie about
it. I haven't hesitated once. If we had to, I have gone to a food bank.
Sometimes they give you quite a bit.
And it has been a godsend of enough food to plan out meals and to get us until next paycheck.
There's no shame in taking that aid where you need it.
Okay, none at all.
I know people are like, oh, it's embarrassing. You know what?
I'm going to admit
something. When I was growing up, times were hard, even as a teenager, that we had to go to
Health Enhance. We had to go to the food bank, to the food pantry, whatever you want to call it,
and get food. We had to. My mother was a single parent with three kids. I was working where I could, when I could.
My checks helped out as much as I could, which wasn't much.
And I won't lie, I thought it was embarrassing.
But when I look back as an adult, I understand my mother made the choices she made to keep
us warm, to keep a roof over our head and clothes on our back and
food in our belly. Was it the easiest way? Or I mean, was it the most non-invasive way? No. I mean,
it was heartbreaking because I remember one time I was so embarrassed because I've gone so many
times before. Never thought anything of it.
Never saw anyone I knew until one day I went and I saw a girl my exact same age
and my exact same class of my high school.
And she was volunteering.
And I can tell you this.
She honestly, to this day,
and even then I thought she was probably one of the sweetest
young women I've woman I've ever known. And she never said a word. She, we made eye contact.
She never said anything. She never told anyone. If she did, I never got back to me. And that made me understand, okay, you know, she saw that she knew, but it was kind of
an understanding of, well, if you're here, then things must be bad, but it was never talked about.
So I was never humiliated in that sense. At first I was embarrassed, but then as I go on, I realized
the sweetest thing she ever did for a teenager was she never acknowledged it.
And that made it so much easier.
But yeah, even as an adult, even within the last couple of years when things got hard,
I've gone to the food bank.
No shame.
They give you enough food that you can put it up.
Now, there's a lot of times you get a lot of fresh stuff that you can dehydrate and
can and put away.
And there you go.
There's food.
You don't have to like all of it
if you don't like all of it give it to someone you know will eat it donate it but there's plenty
of good food in there that you can eat and if you grow up poor like I did you learn not to be too
picky garden girl there you are sorry I was talking about you earlier and then I went on a rant
poor James and Pappy are probably dropping off.
Speaking of which, Garden Girl, I don't know if you caught earlier, hit me up. I do have an idea I want to throw at you as far as something to help you when you're jogging, but I want to get
some thoughts from you before I do it. That way I'm not just blindsiding you with something that can't actually be useful.
So definitely hit me up after this. But yeah, we all have encountered hard times, tough times. I
mean, right now we're, I'm not going to lie, we are on hard times. I'm not asking for anything
from when we're getting by. Me being on leave
financially hurt us, but at the same time, I needed that break. I've never gone,
I've never had the chance to be able to be with one of my babies beyond six weeks. I've always
had to go straight back to work and I was always working one to two jobs with a baby.
back to work. And I was always working one to two jobs with a baby. And it was nice to for once have that time to just be with my son, to be able to be home. And I can tell you this, I've always wanted
to be a stay-at-home mom. Unfortunately, economy is not at a position for us where I can be.
But I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the fact that on even days where I was absolutely lazy and got to just hold
my baby, my partner didn't come home and get angry at me.
He understood.
But what are we doing?
We're fixing that.
I'm back to work.
I'm doing what I have to, to make sure that we get caught up where we need to get caught
up.
I feed my family.
I budget.
I do what I need to on my end to make sure all of the hard work my partner's putting in
isn't falling short, isn't for nothing. My partner is busting his butt supporting us,
and I'm doing what I can on my end to manage everything the best way I can. And you know
what? That's what a good partnership is. That's what a good prep in the family is. You know,
even if you're a garden girl, I'm going to
use you, for example, if I can just throw it out there, not saying this is your life, but for
example, your husband's not a prepper. He supports you, but you're a prepper. And I know you probably
do what you can on your end to make sure, even if your spouse isn't a prepper with you,
Do what you can on your end to make sure, even if your spouse isn't a prepper with you,
everything they do has its worth and is appreciated. And then you take what came from that and you put that into a way to prep and prepare
for your family.
Am I incorrect?
I may be talking too fast for anyone to catch up.
Sorry.
Let's see.
But it's just, times are crazy. Um, wow. I totally went off the site there because I
was talking about Yuri's, you know what? I'm not going to go into specifics. Listen to his interview. You will. It is a two hour long interview, but listen to it. There's a lot of things that he says that are like, wow, that's actually what happened because yeah, it's kind of scary.
that he talks about and it fits to a tee. See, she said I was right. See, so that's, that's the thing is, uh, like I mentioned before, not, not all of us have prepping spouses.
Not all of us are with partners who completely understand, but as preppers, we, we see value
in everything that we do. I see a value every time I vacuum seal and put away a pound of
rice. I see value in every dollar that my partner brings home towards our living. I see every bit
of value in when I ask him to help me with a prep or to help me build something or to take something apart or move it.
Because for us as preppers, these little things count. We have a way of planning
without realizing we're planning. That's just how our minds work. We put away for a rainy day. We
put up for in case those hard times hit us. We are, as James would do,
probably getting ready for making sure
the chickens are going to start laying again,
making sure our way of living is protected in its own.
I'm looking at trying to figure a way
to put some sort of mesh in around my little raised bed
to try to keep the neighbor's cats out of it.
Because right now it
is currently a litter box and my neighbor's cats are full of parasites and it just grosses me out
oh see okay as garden girl says he added extra shells in a closet for all my preps and dry goods
see and that is value in its own those are are skill sets. And that's another thing in our, I've talked about self-defense.
I've talked about hard times, right?
Prepping.
But it's skill sets.
We want to practice.
You know, you practice shooting so you become a proficient shooter.
You practice canon so you make sure you put the food up correctly for your family.
So you have viable, edible food without giving anyone botulism. You practice prepping because
that is what we do. We're not just practicing it. We're living it. We're understanding it because
we are human. We do make errors. We do make mistakes. And we don't get better until we have learned from those.
So I don't know any good prepper that has anything in their packs not opened and then
automatically knows how to use it.
Sorry, you can't leave it in the plastic wrap and then expect to know exactly the ins and
outs if you've never used it or touched it
oh i love that i like that see i've
that's gonna get me on a whole different sort of yeah i like that a lot i am jealous
though i will admit hey i use the same deodorant. Sorry. My other closet, though,
is full of yarn and fiber, and I love that you have the sick bags. I used to have a bunch of
those. Great for first aid kits, especially with children, especially with traveling.
For those of you who don't want to use a sick bowl, go on Amazon. The sick bags like they give you at
the hospital are amazing. Yeah, I know, squirrel. Or no, pappy, as you would say, butterfly.
Yeah, that is today. I am a bit everywhere. I'm not ashamed about it, though. At least I'm driven on everything I'm talking about is practice.
Practice your preps, first aid kit, medicine, health care, food, health care, you know,
medical well-being, food, water source, heat.
These are things that people should already be thinking about.
I know plenty of people who live week to week. I know plenty
of people who live day to day as far as their meals. I cannot wrap my head around it. I actually
saw, okay, so prime example, Mississippi has had a bunch of snow and a bunch of ice, right?
And so people weren't getting out for the last week. And I saw
where one of the local Piggly Wigglies, where I lived in Batesville, not Batesville, sorry,
lived in Mississippi, posted that they just got a truck and are now fully stocked with full shelves.
So it's like, it goes to show you with the weather it is, it has put issues on restocking, hence
why it's best to keep extra food in your cabinet.
It's put issues on people being able to get out.
Hence again, why you want extra food in your cabinet, extra warmth, because what if your
power goes out?
What do you do?
Did you wake up?
Yep, he's looking at me. All right. So I am going to pause for a second.
I'm going to take a quick break. I'm going to drink some water, grab the little one, and then
I will come back to my rant. I'll try to be a little more cohesive. I love you too, Pappy.
You know, I can't help it. Sometimes I get to just a little too passionate about everything
I'm talking about. All right. So bear with me one moment. I will be right back.
talking about all right so bear with me one moment i will be right back on the brink of blackouts again as power demand reached an all-time record high overnight slivers of the golden state plunged
into darkness it expects to continue with stage six running blackouts for the rest of a scheduled
outage on thursday but the one that happened Sunday, it wasn't scheduled, it was unexpected, and it lasted longer than a day. Point Zero Energy has given me the American-tested, American-assembled,

Beameon family, your garden is the resistance.
What do you think of that? James has been making some killer bumpers and I keep harassing him for more. So I actually thought I had a little snippet in here, but it looks like I didn't put it on here yet, which is a shame.
Great ones in here.
If you haven't heard them yet, I'm sure James has probably played them on his.
Do want to give a quick shout out to Roven Blue.
For those of you who don't know, Yana is the owner and founder and she actually, let me
pull this up so I can tell you exactly. I actually have a
Rogan Blue. It is an ozone pen. They have different types of them. The ozone pen itself,
I use for purifying, not so much purifying, but add an ozone back to my water. It's great. You
can use it in partnership with a water filtration system you know more
is better than one but it is a it is a water purification so if you have not heard of it
before definitely check out rovin blue that's rovinblue.com it is the future water purification. Great for travel, hiking, trips of all sorts.
You can use it to purify the water before you wash your vegetables or put your vegetables in there.
When you do it, you're drinking water, whatever it is.
Do keep that in mind.
It is great.
I love my ozone pen.
I've used it many a times, especially with the fact I live in an area where tap water is not really something you want to be drinking.
We don't use it unless we know it's going to be boiled or is a high temperature just because of the fact we have gotten sick.
Even though they say the water is fine, too many people around here agree.
Again, check it out, ropingblue.com.
They've got the travel purifying pen. They've got the
portable water purifier. They even have a water generator. So look into it. It's called the Ozone
Pod. They were amazing. They came to Prepper Camp a few years ago. Jeff Smith with Everyday Prepper
is also a partnership with them. And if you are interested in their products, let me know. I do have a
discount code, Phoenix Survival. I will have to double check to make sure that code is active.
If not, hit me up. I will get that reset up as Phoenix Survival, and we will get you a discount
and get one of those in your home today. Again, like I said, I swear by it. All right. So had to give that quick plug
because I love that product. Let's see here. Pappy, did you want to throw a butterfly at me
anywhere? I do now have a little one here reaching for the computer. I'd ask him if he has anything to say, but he's not. You want to say
anything, bud? No. Okay. So this one right here is going to be raised, uh, learning all about
preparedness, just like my others. And it's just the way it is. This is life. This is the life he was born into, the poor thing, but
I think it's going to be the best for him.
The best completely. I'm James, garden girl, happy. Y'all want to throw any butterflies my way?
oh if this right here isn't enough motivation for you i don't know how more i can kick you in the rear end and tell you you need to do something um i talk about it and talk about it
but until you do something me talking means nothing. Nothing. All right. Let me see. I think he will be better for
it. Garden Girl says he'll be better for it. I think so. I think my older three are very strong
individuals because of it. Not everyone understands or agrees outside of the prepper community and
that's okay. I'm not here to
win prizes. I'm here to raise my children to the best of my abilities and give them skill sets
that they don't offer anymore. Did you know most schools don't even do home ec?
They don't teach them how to budget, how to write a check, how to, you know, it killed me when
cursive was taken out of schools and then
cursive was put back in. And I think cursive was taken out again. So we are our children's
foundation. We are going to be their ultimate educators. I'm not a teacher by trade. I don't
rephrase. I wasn't gifted in that sense in the fact of teaching
grammar and literature. I'm going to teach my child how to bait his hook, how to fill dress
a deer, how to hook meals, how to feed himself, how to put up food. You know, I'm going to teach
my children life skills that I think are important. I'm not saying their education isn't. I think an education
is absolutely important, but I wasn't gifted as a teacher for that. I was gifted as a parent
and a teacher in teaching life skills because that is my responsibility. I'm to teach my children
needs, not somebody else. Because if we leave the teaching to somebody else, then we've one,
removed any opinions we've had. And two, can't say anything when our children learn something
we don't want them knowing. That's because you took a step back and you're responsible.
Sorry, I was saying, apology, scrambling eggs with my little buddy. Oh, you know what?
There's nothing wrong with that.
The good, healthy growing boy, which speaking of which I wish I had chickens again.
Uh, we are looking at, and I keep saying it, I'm trying to find if anyone grows any of
their own plants in the house and pots, please let me know.
Um, garden girl, I got their stackable pots,
but I'm looking for a decent grow light. That's not going to break my bank. Like I said, we are,
you know, financially set in a certain way. So my crochet and my crafting usually pays for
itself and pays for my preps. And, uh, so if anyone knows of one or a great way to do it, great.
I am definitely going to try to go all out as far as minimal space gardening,
just because of the fact of the lack of space here as far as a yard.
You want to say hi?
No?
We're just going to fill the diaper okay so
i don't want to be get on any sort of ugly soapbox now that he's awake
check clearance at lowe's or home depot i got one for $10 and it's great. You know what? I'll
go buy it, but I know a lot of places are already setting out for spring. I seen a lot of seeds put
up at Walmart. Um, so there's, that's the only thing is if not buying it in the off season,
usually goes back up, but I will definitely go buy there. And that's another thing. I do not buy my seeds from Walmart,
not knocking people for doing it. I am an heirloom seed fan, uh, all the way organic heirloom,
uh, non-GMO. So my places I typically order from is heirloom seed. Uh, hold on. Let me
actually pull up the link so I can tell you specifically. Because I keep Southern Seed Exchange.
Now, some of them are not heirloom.
You have to go through it.
I have Strictly Medicinal.
Strictly Medicinal.
Hold on, let me see.
Strictly Medicinal Seeds.
And there's one more.
Southern Seed Exchange. Strictly Medicinal. and there's one more southern seed exchange strictly medicinal oh uh there's also rareseeds.com all all three of these sites have some great seeds on them
i do not just buy from one or the other because i am a I look at cost so I am going to look at
what the germination rate is on those seeds how many seeds I'm getting per pack how much it costs
and I always go for the best bang up for my buck but all three of these sites have amazing
amazing seeds on there I've gotten quite a few from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange.
That one will definitely tell you where it came from, if it's an heirloom, if it's certified
organic, if it's suited to the Southeast, what the growing zone is. I mean, there's a lot of
information on these, especially for individuals who aren't
familiar or who are wanting to get into it. You don't have to break the bank. I've done well.
I like my seeds. I've actually bought my wholist oats. I've bought my rice seeds. Just do your
research. There's so many things on there.
I am one of those.
Whenever I go shopping for anything, I look at multiple sites.
That's just how I am.
But those are the three seed sites that I swear by.
And I always look for the organic certified.
And I always look for the heirloom.
Amazing tomato seeds.
Those are actually all the seeds over the years I've gotten where I actually grow my tomatoes directly from seed. I've gotten plants. I've found I don't
have as much luck with plants. I can. I mean, I have, but I find my plants do better when I start
them directly from seed. And I sow directly into the ground with gym corn, sweet corn,
sow directly into the ground with, um, gym corn, sweet corn, uh, Amish green beans, which don't have the veins on them as hard as other green beans, my squash, my peppers, like all of these,
I grow heirloom and I've had the best luck with growing them directly from seed. And I enjoy it.
Same with radishes and lettuces and all of it. I mean, the only thing
you don't grow from seed is your potato or your sweet potatoes, but why not? So definitely look
those up if you are interested in them, you know, and you're not sure, let me know. Again,
some, I do buy a few cheap packets to give away, Baker Creek, oh, yep, Baker Creek and Rare
Seeds has free shipping, I actually do have Baker Creek on here, too, oh, yeah, Baker Creek is Rare
Seeds, sorry, um, um, Baker Creek is Rare Seeds, but they are amazing, You hear him? He's talking there with me. And it will tell you, uh,
where they originated from. They'll give you enough information as far as like taste and
everything. It's great. So hold on. Let me, I'm going to go real quick and go to Southern seed.
Let's see. Uh, one of y'all throw a vegetable at me and I'm going to pull it
up on each one and show you how they vary. Anybody? Garden girl? Quick fingers. I know
Pappy's busy with the baby. So, uh, you know what? Let's do that. All right. There's carrots.
Let's do all right. There's carrots.
I am
a creature of habit
for certain type of carrots. I found
what carrots work for me and which ones
grow the best. Let's see.
I don't like this new update.
My entire screen goes. I don't like this.
All right.
Sorry if you hear all that. He is becoming active,
so it won't probably be too much longer. All right. So, so Baker's Creek is going to have,
um, uh, you know, they all have a very varied, very varied selection. Let's see. I'm going to look up.
I know what kind I want to see real quick.
I think they're
ox hearts.
Look up ox hearts real quick. See if I can find them.
Not every one of them has them.
No, they don't.
But it just goes to show
each one has
cosmic purple.
They each vary. So for example, 200 of the cosmic purples from strictly medicinal seeds is 295.
For 200 seeds, it says germs in 10 to 21 days. Each of these give information. So if you're not
sure what you're looking for, if you're not sure where you want to start, take a look. Okay.
There's a lot that you can find out about these. So this one is organic certified and does well
for the Southeast sun at Southern seed exchange. So they give you all sorts of information on these. So you're not just
shopping in the dark, I promise you. It's, it's literally, okay, so they're out of stock at
Baker's Creek, but I mean, it's, it gives you some great information. Each one of these have,
I've pulled up the same seed across the board and each one varies a little bit differently in price.
Some of them free shipping, some of them not free shipping, but look into it. I mean,
it's amazing. I am a fan and I will push that one like crazy. Let's see.
All right. So we are coming up on an hour. I probably am going to go ahead and cut it here
only because little man is wide awake and grabbing at everything. So I do appreciate
everybody listening and letting me rant a bit. Just keep in mind, this is what's going on. The
world is crazy right now. You are your family's piece. And I know that sounds wild as it
is, but, but you are, it's kind of like, uh, James's shirt, be the calm within the chaos.
All right. Calm within chaos. So us prepping gives us that calm, keep that calm and know you've got
it to take, take care of your family and do what you need to do to take care of yourself as well.
Keep in mind, you know, you want to stay warm. You want to feed your family and do what you need to do to take care of yourself as well. Keep in mind,
you know, you want to stay warm. You want to feed your family. You want to prep. You want to
practice. All right, folks, I do appreciate it. Thank you for letting me write and rave.
Check out those seed sites. Check out Roving Blue. Look into Point Zero. I know James has one and
relies on that thing quite a bit. So yeah, if you're not a member of PBN, look into us. If
you want to get into Element, come over to prepperbroadcasting.com. There is a link that
will bring you directly into Element so you can join up and join the chat because I promise you,
if you're not in chat, you're missing more than half of it. There's so much going on.
All right, folks, take care. Enjoy your weekend.
Have an amazing week, and I will talk to you next Saturday. Thank you for listening to the Prepper Broadcasting Network, where we promote self-reliance and independence.
