Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to PBN. Your path back to stability. I keep on moving forward. Always getting closer. March until it's over. And just like a soldier. I keep on moving forward Always getting closer I'm marching till it's over
Starting point is 00:00:51 And just like a soldier I keep on moving forward Always getting closer Marching till it's over And just like a soldier I keep on moving forward Good morning PBN. How are you on this Saturday morning? That is right, I am a bit early, so for my extra early birds, hello to you. So, it has been interesting in the last week and a half, to say the least. I, uh, I would do it again, and I know that's horrible to say with the disaster. It was an experience. We were, um, very blessed and fortunate and protected by God and all these things.
Starting point is 00:01:49 When it comes down to it, I am very thankful that all of our prayer, that we were heard, that we were protected. So last weekend, we had Prepper Camp. Prepper Camp 2024. We had all heard that there was going to be a Hurricane Helene. I grew up in the mountains. I am not a stranger to big storms. I grew up around tornadoes. I've been through three very close calls. I've been through probably about six total. But what gets me is never have I seen a hurricane pick up wind and keep it as soon as it hit landfall. That in its own was scary. But on top of that, huge shout out to Rick and Jane for having everything going.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Huge love you guys because you are amazing. And for those of you who don't know, we did not have any service or signal. Yes, we had someone who was kind enough to help us to use her internet so we could get messages out. But things weren't coming in like you would think. We had no clue what the devastation was
Starting point is 00:03:00 or what the full impact is on the region. So mind you, people are wannabe critics and I get that your feelings are in a certain place and in your right, you have every right to feel the way you do, but please be mindful of the fact that we were on a mountain with no service, with no way of leaving people hanging, and Saturday was beautiful for us. We had people who went out Friday and cleared the roads, which someone else had told me. I knew two locals had spoken to me, and one came to Prepper Camp, thanked us,
Starting point is 00:03:39 said if it hadn't been for us, that the mountain wouldn't have been touched until maybe Monday or Tuesday at the earliest. Someone else told me later after, in fact, apparently a woman was in labor and if it hadn't been for them clearing the mountain, um, our group being there and clearing it, she would have had to have delivered in a stressful situation without medical aid on her own or with whomever she was there with. Anyone who's had children, anyone who's been around someone who's had children, I had four.
Starting point is 00:04:13 I've had four children, four deliveries. And no matter how ready you think you are, there is a little sense of unease during it because anything can happen during childbirth. Anything. I don't know if this was her first or her second or what. I don't know any information beyond that, but I am thankful that we were put in the place that we were in. I spoke to some locals on the way out, Nate and Betsy, just a shout out to y'all i did give them my information i figure it'll be a little while before i hear back from them because um the gentleman both live in different areas he was giving her a ride into town we had stopped just to try to see if we could grab some milk for our son and he said that uh he go we were talking and i asked you know his opinions on everything that
Starting point is 00:05:08 was going on he goes he's thankful for the people who are coming in from outside he said um tourism has been probably one of the best things even during a point of disaster because it is showing the camaraderie and the fact that people who don't know the area or know these people are still helping. I asked him his views on the mountain. He said he was actually thankful because he knew he had to cut his own trees out of his driveway, but being able to get down the road and to check on the elderly couples that lived on that same mountain, to be able to check on their friends and family it really helped and took some stress off of him he said he was then able to come down the mountain and even though
Starting point is 00:05:51 he's not a part of emergency services he was given aid to him and he himself even said though he had no clue proper camp was going on that um the mountain is one of the last places to get touched, whether it's fall, you know, fell trees, um, power lines, water sources, anything. He said the mountain is the last one and they're always left for the last. He, he honestly, in his opinion, thought it would be much later in the week before they actually saw any sort of help. So he was thankful for any help we had given. they actually saw any sort of help. So he was thankful for any help we had given. So for those of you, you know, a bunch of you didn't realize is a lot of us were already out there. A lot of us
Starting point is 00:06:32 were already, already in the area. And I am thankful that we were because our group was able to provide some sort of aid. I know the campground was thankful that they were able to move stuff off their shelves that probably would have sat there for quite a while. So they were thankful for the business. So there are some positives to the negatives there. I am so sorry that people were hurt. I hate seeing that. My heart goes out to them. My prayers go out to them.
Starting point is 00:07:03 I hate seeing that. My heart goes out to him. My prayers go out to him. But I am thankful for us being as safe as we were, that we were protected, and that we were as high on a high ground as we were, because honestly, I think that played into a big factor of how we fared so well on that mountain in North Carolina. on that mountain in North Carolina. Now, what else we've been seeing is the port strike happened. The port strike happened for a few days. They put it on hold till January, which goes to show you right there, they got a 62% increase in pay. What gets you though is these folks are waiting till after the election to see who's going to do what to promote them and I'm going to tell you this I saw a clip of Trump in North Carolina and they asked him what does this mean for your voters in the state he goes it doesn't mean the
Starting point is 00:07:59 damn thing he doesn't care about the votes he goes there are people dead and people are missing and that's what the importance is let's see if i can find it it really key to show that this isn't about the number of people that they can get to one side this is about the people that they can save and let me see if i can play it because it wouldn't let me share it i'm not thinking about voters right now i'm thinking about lives and to be honest it's share it. I'm not thinking about voters right now. I'm thinking about lives. And to be honest, it's much bigger than anything else. But we're thinking about lives.
Starting point is 00:08:33 A lot of lives lost. A lot of people missing. And that's what I'd be focused on right now. See, it goes to show you've got people out there doing the right thing. You've got people out there doing the right thing. You've got people out there who forget the voting. Yes, we know what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:08:51 But in this, it's bringing a lot to light. It is showing where is Kamala and Biden in this? The fact that I am seeing reports from people in the area stating that FEMA, now I need to verify this stuff, this is what I'm hearing people saying, is that FEMA is taking their goods. They're confiscating things, confiscating supplies and money. And a lot of these rescue individuals are being told that people bringing in goods are being told to drop it off at a federal FEMA location. Here is the problem with that. The problem is FINA became an immigrant safety net when Kamala was allowing all of these immigrants to come across the border which used up so much money. And now there's not
Starting point is 00:09:45 enough money or aid or support for our own American citizens who are devastated. Something's wrong, y'all. Something's wrong. So during this, we saw some strain here on the East coast between the port strike and the disaster relief. So all of our supplies were going out to aid those individuals and those families. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm glad people were able to help. I'm glad the port strike ended sooner because hopefully that means supplies will come back in. But we saw some terrifying shortages just in a few days. No toilet paper, no water, little to no diapers, absolutely no wet wipes, which I get. I completely understand, but it does make it a strain. This is why we prep.
Starting point is 00:10:40 And I got to see my shortcomings on certain things because my prepping for the longest time was for an adult and older age children. I now have a toddler or an infant, whichever, he's a toddler now. I have a very small child. I'm starting all over, so my preps have to change, have to adjust to my new way of living. And I got to see firsthand some of my major shortcomings and downfalls on what I need to fix.
Starting point is 00:11:17 I've, you know, had a parent, my mother asked me, well, what about potty training them? I'm not against potty training my son, but he's not ready. Every child shows that they're ready at a different point. He's still having fun. Yeah. He's, he's too small to potty train. Now I had a son who was his age who did potty train, but every child is different. Um, I've looked into a potty chair. I did buy the first case of diapers I could get because, mind you, when we left for prepper camp, we're like, oh, okay, no biggie. We'll just restock our supplies when we get back because it hit at the time of the month where I usually do a very large grocery trip for the month.
Starting point is 00:11:59 And because the trip was coming off, we decided to put it on hold because we didn't want to have all the stuff in the fridge. And typically what happens is when I do a large grocery trip, I end up separating all the meat out, vacuum sealing it, putting it away. And that was just more time to take away from getting the last things ready for camp. So that was my, my big error number one was thinking it can wait have you noticed that's usually the one time we kick ourselves in the ass is when we say it can wait it can wait and then something happens and it couldn't wait now we are fortunate that things picked back up and are going to go back to a relative normal. You know, we say that a lot.
Starting point is 00:12:48 It's a new normal. It's relative. It's chaos. We just learn to adjust ourselves around the chaos to believe that it's all okay. But is it? And I say it like that because I'm not wanting to be a naysayer or have people worried, but is what we're doing enough? Okay. So this for me was a wake up call of, I need to go ahead and pull out my pressure canner and start pressure canning. A huge shout out and thank you to my friends who I consider family and to my listeners who I consider family. I appreciate all of you who offered a helping hand when things were looking a little tough.
Starting point is 00:13:39 I appreciate you. And for those of you who did go a little further, thank you. It warmed my heart and brought a tear to my eye to know that was one less thing I had to worry about. So thank you. I love what we have here. I love PBN. I love my listeners, my Instagram followers. I love y'all because this is a family, a network. I don't know all of you. I'm sure you don't know me beyond a voice on the
Starting point is 00:14:14 radio and a face on the screen. And that's okay because when times come about, we take care of each other. We look out for each other. And, oh, where'd my screen go? I keep, I just keep falling down rabbit holes. I promise you I'm going to get to a point eventually. So what I realized is I need to work on my canon. I need to, um, thank you to Joray, JP, and several other listeners who've been jumping on my live chats mylar i am actually going to place an order um i do have to be strategic financially for us because the way things hit did hit us in between on a little spot um so I will be getting into Mylar. Bento, that's great. I'm going to try it, especially for our pastas, because like I've spoken before, we have a mold issue
Starting point is 00:15:11 and it's only getting worse. So there's that we're dealing with. Life is throwing curveballs left and right. And how we handle that really is what plays the largest factor. So we've got Mylar. I want to do work on my Canon. Making sure my son's preps and needs are met. So, for example, I brought that case of diapers. I've been told to hold on to the size 4 and go ahead and buy another 3 when they come in stock, which I probably should. But today, I am going to meet with a lady from Facebook Marketplace.
Starting point is 00:15:52 No worries, not going alone, public place. But I have purchased some reusable, adjustable diapers as a backup. Now, when my son gets too big for diapers, yes, I'll pass them on this. I'll, you know, give them to someone else or pass them on or however need be. Or our future isn't set on not having more children. So it's not, you know what I mean? It's one of those, okay, I didn't know I was going to start all over again, but there's always that possibility. okay, I didn't know I was going to start all over again, but there's always that possibility. So we have looked at his needs as far as bathroom needs.
Starting point is 00:16:40 We've looked at supplies in our house, making sure that's another thing is there for a while. I was keeping a supply list of what we had on the shelf, what we had in total of each thing, and I let that fall to the wayside. I would like to have our supply list back because every time we take from the pantry, I went in there and realized, oh, I really let things get way below my regular minimum. Keeping that list, knowing what you want to allow for your minimum makes a big difference in how you prep, how you grocery shop, how you plan meals. That's another one. Plan meals. Keep an open ledger as I call it. I did that for years where I write out the finances, where we're sitting at, what costs what, what's going to what. Yes, I am the primary bill sorter in the house,
Starting point is 00:17:33 but then this way, if something comes up, my partner can be like, hey, I'd like to do this. We'll take a look at the ledger. Do we have enough expenses towards this? What's going towards that? Is this something that we can hold off and take a little bit out of each check and put away for? So we can assess it together. I mean, that's what a good partnership is.
Starting point is 00:17:57 It's funny. My partner will tell you he doesn't care what I buy because he trusts that I am going to be, I know where we are financially. And he's accurate. I am a stickler. And I get buyer's guilt when I order things online. Even if it's things we need, I have to over rationalize for myself and he has to remind me it's okay. I don't mind. Let's see. Oh, so this weekend I was supposed to be at Self Reliance Festival in Camden, Tennessee. in Camden, Tennessee, and once everything happened the way it did, and we're still, not us in Myrtle Beach, but right outside of us and further inland in North Carolina and Tennessee, we're still reeling from this. People, there are roads that are still not quite open.
Starting point is 00:19:07 There are bridges that are still down. There are areas that are just still completely decimated. And the thing is, is the route I was going to take would put me at 10 hour drive. Yes, I do show alternative routes, but I don't know that route like I know other routes. And I had to back out, out unfortunately because it was too much of a risk for the safety of myself and way too much of a risk for the safety of my son because he travels with me anywhere I go he goes we camp together yes he's little and that's that was my my concern is financially um finding places for, gas costs, because I know some places are gouging. Um, being able to find a place for gas, knowing that the road I'm driving on is safe, and then a 10-hour drive being even longer. So I really had to take into play our safety and the risk,
Starting point is 00:20:04 So I really had to take into play our safety and the risk. And the risk just did not outweigh the reward. Now hopefully, Miss Nicole, I appreciate you so much, will consider me for next year. I would love to be able to be a part of that. Just this year, all the cards just didn't land the way they should have. I see a couple people in chat. Good morning, Hatter. Good morning, Mad Dog.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Oops. Would help if I could write. So, even though ports are opened back up, prep. Even though ports are opened back up, prep, because the things overseas, things here locally, are going to play a role. Sorry, I checked my security camera. And he's smacking a shoe with a bottle. Okay. Good morning, JB.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Golden goddess. Look at you. Hey, Stumpfield. But it is interesting the fact that people don't realize how easily everything can be affected. So Prep and Broadcast Network, right? PBN. We defined prepper for the longest time as anything preparing. Is anything, is prepping is for preparing for anything that could alter, affect, or derail your everyday way of living.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Your everyday way of living. And you know what? It doesn't take much to derail that. It doesn't. That storm decimated areas. But lesser storms have done, derailed everything as well. Port strike derailed your way of living. War derails your way of living.
Starting point is 00:22:20 If this is not an eye-opening experience or an eye-opening event, I don't know what to tell you. If you're not already prepping, yeah, don't wait till tomorrow. Don't. Even if it, prepping does not have to be a money pit. It doesn't. I've done it when money was very scarce, but you make it work. Your family becomes the most important investment you can ever make. It's an investment in their
Starting point is 00:22:58 happiness and their life. It's an investment in having full bellies and keeping everyone safe. It is an investment that is worth putting into. Oh, that's right, that nub. Good morning, darling. The first X7CME is late and shit combined with X9 and Hit Tonight, which right there, I meant to mention that. Thank you, StatNav. I had that on here, but I've gone down the rabbit hole on the other stuff. The two largest CMEs that could potentially hit us are going to hit tonight. They have the potential to wipe things out, right?
Starting point is 00:23:49 Yes, thank you JB knowledge is the most valuable prep and it doesn't cost money exactly knowing and teaching these skills that's I think that's why I enjoy going to these events prepper camp I will always go to as long as Rick and Jane have it going on and thereafter, I will be there. But I also enjoy going to these other events because I enjoy teaching. Not everybody is thrilled about fiber and textiles, but my class is more than just fibers and textiles. Hatter, cutting up Roma tomatoes and freeze drying them for future fresh spaghetti sauce. Exactly. See, same with JB. It is one of those things where even now we're doing something. I had a lady come to me at Prepper Camp who is, um, she stated she's legally blind,
Starting point is 00:24:47 she stated she's legally blind sweetest woman ever and I didn't have a certain type of wool hat which if she's listening I am getting that made now and we'll have it out this this coming week for you but yeah so she went ahead paid gave shipping address everything her name and I will have that out in the mail to her this week. And it was nice to know that someone was fine with waiting because she said it would probably take her about that long to even get home. So God bless her. But it is... I... What? My phone is blowing up.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Oh, okay. But it is great to see that Hatter is freeze drying food for future use um I know JB is always doing something okay here we go with that nub I am going to give a shout out for this okay for those of you in the American readout I will have a booth at the Panhandle Preparedness Expo of 2024, Sandpoint, Idaho. Idaho? Yes. Today and tomorrow. Come say what up, though. So if anyone is in the Great American Readout and in the area for the Panhandle Preparedness Expo,
Starting point is 00:25:56 go say hi to that nub. He did send a link if you are an element. If you are not an element and you want to check it out, it's panhandleprep.org. All right. One more time. Panhandleprep.org. So for those of you in that area, go check it out.
Starting point is 00:26:16 That's just it. These events are going on everywhere. I think there's the Georgia Bushcraft is coming up. The, oh stink. I sent one to one of my listeners for the one in Alabama. It's in April. The Self Reliance Heritage and Homes. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Ooh, Jeff is going to get me for that one. Heartland sorry the Heartland self-reliance conference will be in Millsburg, Ohio in May next year tickets are on sale now so that is something to take a look at
Starting point is 00:27:03 tickets are on sale. Let's see. And Black Friday tickets for Prepper Camp go on sale. I wish I could get out there, but I'm carless at the, yes, that's right. Poor JB. For those of you who don't know, um, JB has probably Probably had the most thrilling adventure out of all of us. And girl, you killed it. Yeah, I think that is one where we need to have you on so you can just really tell folks what you did. Because you were impressive and never lost any bit of energy or enthusiasm the entire time. So, yeah, you're pretty freaking awesome, girl. But that's just it.
Starting point is 00:28:00 We see these situations and we take them with stride. We handle them as they come about. People at camp, you know, just a prime example of emergency, could have started panicking and screaming and crying and saying, not me, I'm out. But no, what did we do? We band together. We formed groups. Guys and gals went together and went out. I know Sarah Hathaway and her family ended up on their way out borrowing
Starting point is 00:28:34 a chainsaw with a few other people and clearing the road even more to make a bigger passage for people with trailers or RVs to be able to get around. So we didn't give up. And in the nice weather, we did have a turnout. We did have vendors, and we did have classes. And we paired together. So that first day, Friday morning, it was pouring rain. And we knew it was going to be rainy. And so, was it Friday or Thursday?
Starting point is 00:29:14 It was one of those mornings I pulled out, I think, I think it was Thursday. It may have been Friday. I know it was Friday. I pulled out my cooktop, took it up to the pavilion. And I just started cooking every bit of breakfast I had in my cooler. Not because I was trying to run ourselves short on food, but because of the fact that being wet and hungry can be miserable. But being wet with a full belly is doable. So I was cooking it up, trying to feed people,
Starting point is 00:29:47 offering orange juice, offering what I had because, um, yeah, why not? Why not take care of the people around me? Why not do something? I mean, it was porn. My son was unfazed. Love that kid. For those of you who haven't met him or haven't had the chance to meet him yet, the kid is really a calm kid. He does not freak out or panic unless you irritate him. Elsewise, yeah, he was enjoying sitting there eating, great mood, unfazed by the whole thing. I have to tell you, it was something to behold. That kid is a tough little shit. But alright, let me jump
Starting point is 00:30:32 to a commercial break and then we'll get right back at it. If there's anything you would like to have said on air or throw along with the chat, feel free for those of you who are listening and you're catching this on the replay and you're not in the group chat, please join. Come to Element. We've got some great things going on. Half the conversation, half the show is the chat itself. All right, folks, I will be right back. On the brink of blackouts again,
Starting point is 00:31:05 as power demand reached an all-time record high overnight, slivers of the Golden State plunged into darkness. Com says it expects to continue with Stage 6, running blackouts for the rest of the week. A scheduled outage on Thursday, but the one that happened Sunday, it wasn't scheduled, it was unexpected, and it lasted longer than a day. Point Zero Energy has given me the American-tested, American-assembled, reliable solar backup that I've been looking for.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Their Titan solar generator is American ingenuity at its finest, with a removable, expandable lithium-ion battery, 2,000-watt hour, 3,000-watt high-efficiency inverter. So what does all that mean to you? It means the Titan can charge your smartphone for 88 hours, your laptop for 35 hours, a CPAP for 108 hours, your refrigerator for 26.8 hours.
Starting point is 00:31:58 Get to pointzeroenergy.com today for the all-American solution to backup power. For the all-American solution to back up power. You're listening to PBN. Your path back to stability. Hello. Hello, welcome to the podcast. Present your vaccine passport. Enter your social credit score. And be sure you have enough remaining carbon credits to enjoy today's show.
Starting point is 00:33:04 You have enough remaining carbon credits to enjoy today's show. Mimi and family, your garden is the resistance. That is right. So, all of this has happened, right? And I've been keeping lives going on on Instagram. So if you're not on Instagram, follow me at phoenix-survival. My brain stopped. It is phoenix underscore survival. I am on Instagram. I have been doing more lives on there just to give updates because it is a quick go-to for me. to give updates because it is a quick go-to for me. I, I plan on showing and making videos of when I start doing the Mylar, my Canon. Um, I've even thought about putting together a video of
Starting point is 00:33:54 how I make my homemade mayonnaise because why not? Why not share this, write it down, it down, make it easier for other individuals as well. But for me, it was, it is a huge motivator. Now, yes, the air quote threat of certain things has eased up, but they're not gone. They're never gone. So I'm still looking into, as a friend mentioned on Instagram winter harvesting or winter sowing I am looking into what I can do about growing indoors which these are all things I've mentioned over past but you know you end up letting it fall to the wayside and it's now one of those okay I have to get off my hiney and do it because my family's needs and safety are number one in this house. Making sure that I can feed my family, making sure that I can protect my family. And I say I, but not just myself, that Chris and I can take care of each other, that we can take
Starting point is 00:35:05 care of my son, we can take care of our son, I'm sorry, and my older three children if they are with us when crisis hits. So it is making sure as a family unit that we can function and fend for ourselves when disaster strikes. Because the thing is, is even though at the moment the risk may be low, it is never zero. It's never zero. And I think that's just it, is regardless of what that percentage is, we keep prepping. what that percentage is, we keep prepping. And we find that those preps have saved us during financial strife, during a disaster, during an emergency situation, during a who knows what. We've all been through something where we found our prepping has given us a breath, a fresh air, has given us a breath, a fresh air, a moment to relax.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Is Thatnup still in here? He may still be at work. I was going to say I wanted to know a little bit more on those CMEs. This is when we need Sarah and Thatnup and Shannon here. It's just, I'm not going to give up on prepping, I'm not gonna stop, I am, ah, there you are, darling, do you know any more on the, um, CME, what the potential is, what the risk is, I am not as savvy on that. I have watched it. I do get NASA updates and weather updates on solar flares and everything else, but I am still very novice to the whole thing, even though I've been following them for years. to the whole thing, even though I've been following them for years.
Starting point is 00:37:09 Here's another thing people didn't realize, and please let this be an awakening moment, but medications are greatly affected by porch strikes. Medications are greatly affected by natural disasters and war. And your medications will take a hit, especially if you require life-threatening, you know, life-saving medications or anything else. Here, it is the largest of this sun cycle.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Right, I saw that. What is the risk assessment that they're putting forth though? Like imminent, guaranteed, likely, low likelihood of hitting us, so on and so forth. Things are always going to be coming at us and like I said how we handle that really determines so much um like I said when when the storm hit we we were all calm I mean I'm sure there were some fears. Um, I was calm. Okay, here we go. The CME that hit a few months ago that made everyone see the Northern Lights was a lot smaller. It is going to hit. Okay, so hitting is a guarantee. Nor, seeing Northern Lights is not a good thing, especially
Starting point is 00:38:40 here in the Southern region. Um, does that mean we will see the southern lights, northern lights tonight? If it's not cloudy here. It is just interesting because a CME, for those who don't know what it is, it's a coronial mass ejection. What that entails is it is a large flare coming off of the sun. It can affect the electrical grid. It can actually knock out several things. It has the potential. Hold on, let me pull up. Let's see what it's saying on here.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Okay, here we go. He even sent a list. With the first one hitting so close to the second one is bad. You should see them. Okay, so we should be able to see the Northern Lights tonight. For those of you who don't know, he added a YouTube link in here, which I am going to pull up so I can take a quick look-see. Yes, it says it's arriving today new plan which another thing these events do affect more than just an electrical current system it can affect uh is it tides it would affect um i would unplug
Starting point is 00:40:20 everything that you were currently not using today. Fair enough. Because if it is connected, it could cause a short. It could cause, hold on, let's pull this up. Oh yeah, because this is considered, I literally just typed in CME solar flare into my search. And it says, monster X class flare launches solar storm towards Earth. The Northern Lights sightings are possible as huge solar flares are spotted. This will be the biggest solar flare since 2017 erupts from sun and Earth is in the line of fire.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Northern Lights expected to return to the UK skies this weekend maps of northern lights forecast with US states could see or the aurora borealis this weekend and people are going to see these beautiful lights but that's not the concern the concern is how does these do these flares affect our earth? How could it potentially affect us? Oh, okay. So, all right. I'm going to just read this for those of you who want to see the northern lights.
Starting point is 00:41:39 It says, what time will the northern lights be visible tonight? The northern lights can be seen just after sunset and just before sunrise. But it is best to go out at night and away from city lights. The center recommends viewing the Northern Lights between 10 p.m. and 2 p.m. local time. According to the center, I don't know what the center is, CBS, the best times of the year to see the Aurora Borealis is around the spring and fall equinox. Aurora Borealis is around the spring and fall equinox. So right at, just after sunset and just before sunrise is when you should be able to see those. I would suggest down in, oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:42:17 I would suggest down in the app called Aurora. It will show you if you will be able to see the northern lights and what the KP index is. Okay. Aurora. It will show you if you will be able to see the Northern Lights and what the KP index is. Okay. Aurora. See, this man knows everything. This is why I adore him. He's been a part of this network for years. I can find my app store. We're going to do this while I have you now. Because, you know, why not? Let's... app store we're gonna do this while I have you now because you know why not let's
Starting point is 00:42:50 all right let's see here I am pulling up something real quick. So, strong solar storms warning issued as two CMEs will hit the Earth tomorrow. I'm trying to see if it will tell me what the risk assessment is for these two, but it's not. It's because everything just wants to give the news that there is going to be one. But y'all, these are the types of events that we see can take out the power, can, um, hey, that knob, I have one that pops up that says my aurora forecast and alerts. But no, these are things that have a potential for effect in the electrical grid.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Um, these strong enough storms can down power. A lot of things, there's a reason why as technology grows, the pieces that they use for technology in modern times become more and more sensitive, much smaller, more delicate. So that's why you see in books and movies, movies, um, items that would have survived a EMP do fine because of the fact that they are made with hardier items. They are a much heavier component than they are now. Everyone should subscribe to at suspicious observers on YouTube daily report on the sun. Oh, um, good morning. I see. Great to have you. He says he is the maker of my nightmare. I think you mean suspicious observers. Yes, that is definitely an interest in one. Um, but be aware. So even though the port strike has ended, even though we have supplies coming back in,
Starting point is 00:45:10 what happens if that CME is strong enough to take down the power grid? What happens when that becomes the next thing you have to worry about? There is always, yep, that's the one I uploaded to. There's always going to be that potential or risk for something to potentially happen. Like I said, I posted on Instagram, showed what the ports had temporarily paused until January 15th, I think it is. And it goes to show you there is always going to be something else coming around the corner. This is why we prep. We prep to make sure we're ready for those punches that are going to get thrown at us, that we just don't have any actual understanding that could happen.
Starting point is 00:46:08 This is why we do what we do. We prep. We prepare. We get ready. We be ready. Tough times are always going to be coming and tough times are always going to be here. Not everyone experiences it the same. Not everyone has the same outcome. As James has put it for myself, we all have our own personal apocalypses that we have to deal with while the world is still spinning.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Be ready for both your personal apocalypse and any other apocalypse that may be forecoming. and any other apocalypse that may be forecoming. I'm sure those that are going through the disaster felt like it was an apocalyptic moment, and it still is. We actually ran into a young woman when we stopped to throw a tarp over the stuff on top of our car because we knew we were going to be running into some spotty storms. And this young woman, beautiful young woman, I mean beautiful young, red-headed college girl age,
Starting point is 00:47:15 I would assume college age, early 20s, beautiful young woman, stops. And she approaches me. You know, of course, in groups around a bunch of men women are more comfortable approaching women and she says do they have any gas here we stopped at a gas station we knew had no power when this was on our way out from camp we were past spartanburg we were probably 20 30 minutes 30 well they're probably 30 miles from, not even that, from Columbia. Columbia wasn't too far out because we didn't stop and actually refill until we got past Columbia, which, shout out to preppers, because we ran out of gas with the way we came in.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Late, no gas stations were open, and luckily a few people topped us off with some of their gas cams so thank y'all but this young woman approached asking about gas I was like I don't think so and I was making a comment to Christopher to ask the gentleman in the truck and she just walked straight up and started asking him and um what got me was Christopher had made a comment of well the gas stations are only taking cash and this young woman goes well I've got plenty of cash right there sent off kind of a eek um nail on a chalkboard reaction for myself and Christopher and um there was another group of gentlemen and I just yelled at him I saw they were changing out like leaf blowers and heavy equipment to each of their vehicles and I asked is there a gas station um less than nine miles from here
Starting point is 00:48:57 where's the next gas station because the young woman even told us oh I only have nine miles left I'm on E and I'm like okay well found out the gas station's three miles down the way and she goes I don't know if I can make I said you can make three miles just turn your gas off while you're in line because she at first thing she asked is there a line of course there's going to be a line and we when we passed that gas station there was a hell of a line but at least if you're going to break down you're going to be a line and we when we passed that gas station there was a hell of a line but at least if you're going to break down you're going to break down near a gas station somebody can help but as we were driving past and and I looked at the gas station he and I looked at each other and I said that was stupid and he goes the money comment like yes yeah but the thing is in situations yes people get drawn together
Starting point is 00:49:46 together to help but there are more people out there to hurt now mind you this was right after a disaster so people aren't on their toes at a level that they should be I first said I would have never said I had plenty of cash. If you're gonna announce you have cash, be like, I've got, I've got 20 bucks to get me gas. Fine. Whatever. No one, technically, if they're looking for money, they're not gonna rob you based on the fact that you have, they're gonna go for where they can get more, right? But her also admitting that she's traveling by herself and there's no one nearby really kind of really solidified y'all in these disasters
Starting point is 00:50:34 I'm not telling you to not trust people but I am telling you to not trust people it is one of those things where as especially a a pretty young woman, or a woman in general, or you have children, or whatever, you need to take more caution in how you handle these emergency situations. You need to think about your safety and be like, yeah, I have someone, but, you know, I'm just trying to make sure I get enough gas so they don't have to, you know what I mean? Just, I'm just trying to make sure I get enough gas so they don't have to you know what I mean just I'm in communication there are other ways you can go about it versus openly
Starting point is 00:51:09 admitting that you are vulnerable you have money and you are a target right right um okay so I'm gonna go to the chat. I did get distracted. So into what I just said, Shabie said most of the... Okay, you know what? Let's go up and then we'll get down to it. So that post at the app, he says it will cause... The CME will cause interruptions in satellites, GPS, ham radios, internet, and website,
Starting point is 00:51:46 cause fires at substations, and power outages in some areas. This is the best case scenario. Hatter states, we prep for the grid going down for an extended amount of time. This kind of prepping encompasses almost everything. I agree. I was looking at ordering, wanting to get myself a Jackery, but I want it to wait till past this weekend. Cause the last thing I want to do is spend money, order something and not get it. Um, JB says most of the digital readers have about a 20 mile
Starting point is 00:52:16 cushion. Same. So this made her cringe me talking about the young lady. She goes, some people don't have the common sense in desperate times and do desperate things. Exactly. And the first thing I said is all she needed because she was beautiful and she was small and she was vulnerable. That one guy or any person with any sort of ill and sick intention could have easily taken advantage of her, could have easily overpowered her and hurt her and I tell you what it you set yourself up to be vulnerable and that nub even says how much cash you should carry with you at times at all times he likes to take a minimal of 400 when I go on trips I take at least a thousand so that nub unfortunately we don't have that kind of cushion here it's usually a couple anywhere from two to four hundred400 cash if I'm able.
Starting point is 00:53:07 But I always make sure I have currency or cash on me. And usually on relatively smaller bills, $5s, $10s, $20s. But yes, cash is something I always take on a trip. Going out to collect rent from the chickens now. Hatter, great. Good luck on that. Let us know how much rent you collected because mine are not paying rent at all yet. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. I'm pretty. I am pretty
Starting point is 00:53:32 but so is my pistol. I should be okay. That love, I absolutely love you. So that is something else. We always carry. I always have one on my person, one near me, and one easily accessible if I can't get to either of those. So there's always three within my vicinity. Hey garden girl, it's all right. The party's still going. I haven't called it quits yet. Today may go over an hour. We'll see. But it goes to show you must be aware and vigilant that even though I may be a kind face, I am a very small petite woman. I may be a kind face.
Starting point is 00:54:03 I am a very small, petite woman. I look very approachable. I've been told I look very sweet. Yes, for those who know me, I know you're laughing. But for just outward appearances before my mouth opens, I have had people say, I look like I am prissy or I could be easily bullied. I've had that happen quite a bit where people try to because of my size and my stature and my appearance. And what had me concerned is even though I look approachable and sweet, this young woman had no clue if I had ill intentions or not. If I wanted to take her
Starting point is 00:54:40 money and what she had in her car, could have that's not me though but that is one of those things where she has to has to be more aware of her surroundings people get so looped in into their cell phones and their electronic romance and whatever else is going on and when I say electronic romance I mean falling in love with technology versus being aware of what the world is really like because in one of these situations she can't pull out her phone and start recording she needs to protect herself she needs to defend herself and men alike too we're seeing gas stations that are um just ripping people off for ten dollars a gallon. So these are things that can happen. Like the older gentleman who pulled up and spoke to us afterwards, very sweet gentleman, was telling him about the
Starting point is 00:55:31 settings on the iPhone. Someone had told me, sent to me, that iPhone's iPhone 14 or newer can be set on satellite mode. Gave him the instructions on that. He took a picture of that so he could do that with his phone later. He was working with the power system. He actually was being called back from one area to a different area. So, but just because he looks like a sweet older gentleman didn't mean he is. Perception or appearances can be deceiving. appearances can be deceiving. I could make myself appear very sweet and innocent and vulnerable, but if I need it to be, I don't have to be. Um, that, no, it is hard for us beautiful people. Yes. Yes. So hard. I have the face for radio. This is why I do it. Um, I have the face for radio. This is why I do it. Um, yes. Um, JB, that's why I travel with a gun. It is my equalizer. Absolutely. I am a very small petite woman. I, against a five foot 10 or
Starting point is 00:56:38 taller man, I am going to potentially be at a very, very low end of just a physical battle of winning that. I love my guns. I know how to use my guns. I am not scared to pull my gun in a situation that calls it. That is the one thing is do not be afraid of your weapon. Have enough fear to respect it, but have enough strength and courage in yourself to know when the right time is to use it. Using it out of anger does not get you anywhere, but using it out of self-preservation, out of protecting yourself and your family are the right calls. So know your own ability, Are the right calls. So know your own ability.
Starting point is 00:57:26 How you can use your weapon. When to use your weapon. And know that if you have to make that call. And you are being threatened. Or put in a situation where you have to. Do not hate yourself for making a decision. Because I promise you. That other person's choice that they had already made. Before you had to make that decision was going to be putting you on the lower end.
Starting point is 00:57:51 You were going to be hurt. You were going to be raped. You were going to be robbed. You were going to be killed. You could be any of those things. You taking a man's life in order to save your own does not make you a lesser person. If anything, I give you more kudos and strength for protecting yourself. A lot of these people feel guilty and feel bad, and that is the human in you.
Starting point is 00:58:13 We don't want to take a human life. I don't want to take a human life. But if I have to, I will make that call, and I will not regret my decision for protecting myself or my others oh that is adorable so for those of you who are not in chat garden girl posted that her in-laws play santa every year but he's also packing the rest of the year they are adorable and you know what he looks like one of those sweet old men who's just an absolute sweetheart who's always trying to hand you one of those Weathers caramel candies
Starting point is 00:58:52 or butterscotch candies. And that is phenomenal. So that now states, I was listening to a podcast and the guy said, if you are listening to this and you cannot reach your gun, you are wrong. From that day on, it is always within arm's reach. You know, it's funny that you state that, that now, because I work from home. I work remote and I work at a desk. And yes, I keep my window. I keep, I keep myself positioned at my front window where I can see. I do have security cameras. But I always keep a pistol in reach. Literally, if I have to reach down, I can grab it. Because running across the room or having to run downstairs to grab it does me no good. Does my family no good.
Starting point is 00:59:40 So I absolutely agree with that podcaster. good so I absolutely agree with that podcaster that if it is not if you cannot reach and reach it then you are wrong um yeah I I absolutely believe you should be able to have one very accessible very accessible hence why I also believe in teaching your gun your children about gun safety the proper rules the way to handle when not to handle that guns are not toys like I've said when I had a family affair what we did with our children is even nerf guns were treated like real guns if we taught them the proper use of even a toy then they understood what it meant when they handled a real one. That was our decision. That's not for everyone, but that's just how we worked. And that's how I work. And I want my children to understand both the dangers of a gun, how unique and fascinating they are, but not to put
Starting point is 01:00:40 themselves at risk. Guns are a very useful device for protection. Guns are great for feeding your family when you have to hunt. Guns are there for a reason. They're not toys. And that was something we taught our children and we're going to teach our son now. Oh, Garden Girl says he is that person. I want him to come up and give me a piece of butterscotch candy. I miss that. You don't see that. Shit, I won't even let a kid point a fake gun at me. Some of their parents think I'm crazy.
Starting point is 01:01:17 No, absolutely, JB. I'm giving you applause right now because I am the same way. I don't care if it is a toy. If you are teaching your children properly, there is a time and place. Um, yeah, I'm sorry. I, I a hundred percent agree with you. I agree. Now there are times when you tell kids, okay, a toy but once they've learned the basis of gun rules I absolutely agree with you um I remember years ago my son came home because he had had a verbal argument with a kid in school over um proper gun use and uh he's like mom this kid was arguing with me and it was one of those times where i had explained to my son he was right but sometimes it's easier just to let the person argue themselves into a corner than try to fight with them because a person who is set on their ways being wrong you can't change them you can't educate him so it was one of those things where
Starting point is 01:02:26 he told him literally he told me that day that he told him well you're doing it wrong but if that's the way you want to do it fine and he took the high road versus sitting there arguing with someone over something stupid he he he was right and I told him he was right and he was right for making the call telling him well okay and to this day I still worry that kid's gonna end up either shooting himself or shooting someone else not my son the other child because of um being taught how to miss mishandling a weapon and even while hunting such an easy mistake you can make that can cost you or someone else their life or serious injury the whole group is typing now I'm excited seeing when we're on a subject we can all agree with I'm not gonna lie I'm probably not gonna be on here too much longer because I'm
Starting point is 01:03:22 I am actually starting to get hungry this morning. And I've got to run a few errands before I go pick up those diapers. But I am thankful to be here with you guys. Our boys always get excited when my hubby takes out a weapon. But he uses it as a teach-a-moment and reminds them how to hold, where to point, and lets them try. Absolutely. Absolutely. to hold, where to point, and lets them try. Absolutely. Absolutely. So that was the thing is teaching my children proper gun control, proper weapon management, the rules around such things. And all of my children were taught to be able to shoot all the weapons I have in my house. Or when my ex-husband and I were together our weapons our kids could handle now my youngest
Starting point is 01:04:06 child she was probably five the first time she shot she had to do it with assistance and that's the proper way to do it I held her hands her father held her hands when she shot and that was so she understood the power of those weapons that she had touched my family was all for it all right here we go When baby girl was little, I brought, I bought her a BB gun. I taught her firearm safety, then made her carry it while in the house as if it was loaded. After three months of carrying that thing around, she is not careless at all. Absolutely. I think that's fantastic. Fantastic. Because even BB guns and pellet guns can be dangerous dangerous if not fatal or deadly on how
Starting point is 01:04:47 they're handled I think that was probably great for you to do probably one thing that I will consider doing with our son as well that's why the focus on you thing is favorite way to spell people ha oh gotcha okay I'm gonna read this on air. Thank God I put mine as explicit. That's why the focus on you thing is my favorite way to tell people to F-O-C. Okay, so I'm gonna just read it. For focus, it means fuck off because you're stupid I love you JB see that is hilarious I am definitely heartened that but yeah so it just goes to show you've got to be aware you've got to teach because nobody else is learning the amount of ignorance and misinformation out there is astounding. Astounding. Okay. See you at that knob. Have a good one. He's got a pistol shower. Uh,
Starting point is 01:05:58 we've talked about that when keeping a waterproof case right next to it. So that's funny. But folks, I think I am going to wind it up myself. I do need to feed myself in the little and then get our errands going. But I appreciate you for being here. I appreciate you for listening. Let me know. I did create a TikTok for Phoenix Survival. If that's something you're interested in. I haven't been posting yet.
Starting point is 01:06:25 Want to know what you would like to see out of it. Yes TikTok is a lot of craziness so let's hone it to what you the content you would like to see. No I'm not doing any little dance trends okay. Not gonna say I won't make myself look like an Indian on there just being goofy me but that is what it is. Reach out to me. Let me know know what you think let me know if there's content you would like to see I am going to be posting more on Instagram I'm going to try to put my presence out there a little bit more and in your face so yeah tell me if you have ideas thoughts or something you would like to see I would definitely like to hone that. You don't have TikTok.
Starting point is 01:07:07 You know what? That's fine. I created one just to see if we can get a broader span out to people. I'm actually really thinking about pushing towards potentially YouTube. I know YouTube's cut us out. I do have a... What's the other one? Rumble. I need to just start putting out content.
Starting point is 01:07:34 So if there are things you want to see and I'll just post them across the board, let me know. If there are examples you'd like to see or things you'd like me to try as far as prepping skills or prepping projects, holler at me. I am down to try them. Let's see. Nothing too wild. I'm sure if you have questions for me and don't have element or are not on my Instagram, you can reach out to me directly at phoenix-survivalatproton.me. It's in Mike Echo, phoenix-survivalatproton.me. So feel free, reach out. Elsewise, everybody, have a great weekend.
Starting point is 01:08:09 And good Lord, lone in the creek, don't rise. I will be here next Saturday. All right, folks, take care left, right, left So put your hands up, put your hands up If crawling for the scraps won't ever be enough Put your hands up, put your hands up The writing's on the wall, this ain't ever gonna stop Put your hands up, put your hands up If crawling for the scraps won't ever be enough
