PPN Family, it's time for the prepper tip of the day.
Today's prepper tip is brought to you by disaster coffee.com.
Go to disaster coffee.com and get the best coffee on the planet.
Straight out of Temecula, California, done by coffee lovers, roasted in small batches and mailed directly to you.
Disaster coffee does not sit on a shelf at any.
any in any warehouse in any store, right? It's roasted and shipped to order. And you'll know it
when you get it. Okay. And if you want a long-term storage option for coffee, buy Disaster Coffee's
bunker beans. Okay. Bunker green beans, you can roast and do what you will. So check them out.
Disastercoffee.com. All right. I had many chicken feeders in my many days keeping chickens. We've
been at it for 12 years now.
I know, starting with the chick feeders, the little plastic chick feeders started moving to a larger feed
system that seemed to be just constantly filled with leaves and dirt every single day, right?
Same thing with the water container.
You know what we also had?
We had the feeder that's hooked to the side of the chicken coop.
and they jump inside of that thing and that thing would be a mess and what really changed the game
was the rainproof gravity feeder five gallon bucket attachment okay not only did this change
the game because now I could put five gallons of food out at a time and for six chickens that's
a lot but again rain no problem right where you play
place these fixtures on your five you you take these fixtures you use a circle saw and you
basically drill out the like three or four places in the five gallon bucket where you want the
chickens to be able to feed from i do three spots on the five gallon bucket it's plenty it's
it means at least you know half of my chickens are eating at the same time um these things are
dirt cheap they're less than 20 bucks and they changed the game and the other thing like we deal
with all kinds of moving and shaking overnight.
You know, depending on where the food is, depending, you know, I don't keep the food
in the coop or even in the run anymore because animals go in, not even to kill the chickens
just to eat their food.
So the ability to grab a five-gallon bucket by the handle, right, and throw it in the
shed eliminates a lot of these interactions with predators and predation, that potential predation
that could happen with the chickens.
So these little, like I said, circle saw screw in the fixture on the back and on the front, right, on any five-gallon bucket, and you're a prepper, so you've got five-gallon buckets, I know you do.
Got to have a lid, right, and your feet is protected.
Your feet is protected from the rain and the weather.
Your feet is protected from pests and rodents if you store it in a different place overnight.
And to me, it was the most effective, the most efficient way to feed chickens.
I'll link to it down below if you want to get a peek at what it looks like.
The kit that I used is the same kit I'm going to link to it.
It comes with the circle saw attachment for your power drill.
And yeah, it'll take you about 15 minutes to build the most dynamic and effective chicken feeder possible.
Thanks for everything, folks.
you enjoyed today's prepper tip of the day.
