Today's prepper tip is all about a real interesting one, hip waiters.
Hip waiters.
Most of my life I spent in the fall time in hip waiters, sometimes in the springtime when the water was cold, fly fishing.
But what I found, so I always had hip waiters, and this is the reason I always had hip waiters.
But what I found in emergency preparedness, the year of the flood here, 2025, is that, you know, hip waiters do a hell of a good job when you're dealing with issues with high water.
You know what I mean?
The water reaches a point where you have to retrieve something.
Maybe the water has risen to an area that you weren't expecting and you've got to go fix something.
you know we had a fence washed out one time from rising water and flood water is gross
floodwater is nasty floodwater does all kinds of things you know it really does
one time i had to run into the flood water the same year that the fence broke really the worst
flood we've ever had and i i had to run into the flood water because my dog was swimming out of
the yard. So I went out there. I ran into one of those floating groups of ants. Like one of them
floating like, I don't know if you know when an ant's nest gets flooded out. They'll like gather
together and float together to restart. And I got eaten alive by these ants. It was terrible.
You know, hip waiters gives you the ability to go trudge.
through some stuff that really sucks and you know you can tie your shoes up and hang them over
your neck put them in your backpack even if they're your hiking boots and they're waterproof like
just because your boots are waterproof doesn't mean you want to get them soaked right but hip waiters
when you're when you're dealing with high water particularly at home or maybe even camping or
something along those lines they give you the ability to create a barrier between you and that
flood water for whatever kind of stuff you have to deal with outside you know what i mean and uh they've been
invaluable to me when the waters rise and there's things oh i got to go grab that thing or oh the water's
coming up here oh the chickens the chickens are in the back of the yard their coop's going under
i'm going to move it you know what i mean and and and rather than run back there and stand in
running water or standing water or whatever you throw the hip waiters on you go out there
into that water and do the thing that needs to be done and uh yeah they're affordable they're a great
option and then you know when trout season comes you can put them on and go fish the mountains in
the wintertime and fly fish like like like you know like some magical fly fisherman in the
in the highlands hip waiters think about it talk to you soon folks
