Starting point is 00:00:13 Red Beacon Daily News, August 21st, 2026. Coming to you amidst the potted plants and cool breeze and surprisingly lack of humidity. The surprising lack of humidity here in Richmond, Virginia in the backyard. Woman charged in ISIS-inspired plot to bomb New York State Capitol. This from the Epic Times. I promise you we will talk about better things today, but this story I have not read and I want to read it. She's eaten well. The woman allegedly planned to kill state politicians and flee to Syria after pledging support to the terrorist group.
Starting point is 00:01:01 This from Jill McLaughlin over at the Epic Times. FBI agents foiled an alleged ISIS-inspired bomb plot on the New York State Capitol on August 19th. Jessica Bowie, 35 of Albany, New York, was formally charged on August 20th with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. And the U.S. Department of Justice announced, quote, as alleged, Bowie plotted to deploy an explosive device at the New York State Capitol intending to kill public officials and destroy as much of the building as possible before fleeing to ISIS-controlled territory in Syria.
Starting point is 00:01:42 How did a woman like Jessica Bowie get wrapped up in ISIS? How did this happen? The New York State Capitol bill between 1867. New York Governor Kathy Hokel said on X. Oh, that's a good place. Everybody used to attack Trump for going on social media, and everybody goes on social media. Where there is no immediate threat at this time,
Starting point is 00:02:03 we will continue working closely with our law enforcement partners to protect New Yorkers and keep our community. I almost said our communists, our communities safe. Bowie converted to Islam about five years ago and adopted the Islamic name Aisha Saif. She also used social media to spread anti-American messages using a dozen profiles. Yeah, I don't understand it, man. This thing, I just don't get it. It's everywhere, though, right?
Starting point is 00:02:35 Jihad is on July 16th, an FBI source acting as an ISIS facilitator asked Bowie about her views, and she allegedly told him, Jihad is an obligation until the day of judgment. the stench of radical Islam is all over our nation folks thank God for the FBI Bowie also told the FBI an FBI informant that she went from a little girl waving an American flag after 9-11 to now having stickers of the fallen towers
Starting point is 00:03:04 man it's dark it's very dark it's a very dark thing benign. You better understand that. You better prepare accordingly. You better make it known. You better stop being afraid of telling people that it's okay to be afraid of people who want to cut your heads off. It's okay. You know what I mean? People who want to bomb state capitals. The whole nation got up in an uproar because of January 6th. But if these radical Islamists have their way, they'll blow up every state capital there is. They'll blow up every church there is.
Starting point is 00:03:45 So understand the real threat here, people. You know what I mean? This is not about left-wing, right-wing. This is about who wants to kill you and your family and subjugate you. You know, and it ain't the January Sixers who want to do that. Sorry. You know, it doesn't fit the narrative for you, maybe some of you out there, but that is what it is. Your AI assistant here.
Starting point is 00:04:07 We've got a bit of a good news situation. So the chameleon politicians. are now turning against AI data centers. Right? I guess they're listening somewhat to the constituency. It's my estimation that they are pacifying the constituency to get these done.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Politicians turn against data centers as anger over AI spreads. The Wall Street Journal Emma Tucker. Not long ago, politicians on both sides of the aisle were eagerly rolling out the red carpet for AI data centers, promising tech-driven economic booms. Today, the red carpet is rapidly being pulled back. I mean, these are the things, right?
Starting point is 00:04:57 The rapid rise of Chinese AI models is raising alarms in Silicon Valley in Washington. Look, this is economic warfare that's happening right now. What's happening right now was speculation at first, but it's reality now. You have a situation where China is flooding the market with their cheap AI models. Trying to literally dethrone America's top AI and all the investment therein. People are going to use these cheap Chinese models. There's no doubt about it. U.S. stocks and bonds slid yesterday as investors resumed a week's long bond sell-off.
Starting point is 00:05:38 That was defined by the Treasury Department's attempts to curb borrowing costs. We are now into 40 bill, if you haven't been paying attention. Your government's run up a $40 billion bill. that they never pay off, and they wag their finger at you and say, where's my tax money? Video journalist Nikki Walker and Josh Luke. We started this project expecting a standard David versus Goliath narrative, LED technology replacing traditional neon,
Starting point is 00:06:08 but our first interview with Nate Schaefer, who owns Big Sexy Neon. I don't know what I'm reading anymore. I'm in the wrong thing. I'm not sure what that is. I'm not sure what that's even about. I don't want to leave you with this. You know what I'm?
Starting point is 00:06:23 I really don't, I don't want to leave you on this. It's Friday, for God's sake. You know, life is beautiful. The weather's great. The grass is growing. The jalapeno pepper is, peppers are growing. Behind me, I have the fall squash crop that is starting.
Starting point is 00:06:42 The green beans second round are beginning. You know, there's pumpkins popping out of the ground. I don't know. You know what I mean? Like, it's good. Life is good, despite what's happening outside of the four walls, right? So I'd rather talk to you about 10 science-backed habits for happiness. The weekend is here.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Let's see what you can do, right? This by Walker Larson from the epic times, the bright epic times. Let's look at the 10. How many of these are you doing? Nurture close relationships. The longest study on human happiness ever conducted, the Harvard study of adult development followed a generation of men for 80 years. And the most significant takeaway was the strength of one's relationships
Starting point is 00:07:30 has the most significant impact on happiness and health. Now think about today's isolation and society and why everyone's on antidepressants. Push past small talk. Have some real conversations. That's number two. Enjoy regular small pleasures. This is my whole life, by the way. My whole life is this. My whole life is enjoy regular small pleasures.
Starting point is 00:07:56 The beauty of a small amount is what they are accessible to everyone. Is that they are accessible to everyone. It's my coffee, you know what I mean? It's my eggs and jalapinos. It's my, it's a lot of things in my life, man. Workouts, runs. I don't know. I learned this from Thomas Keller years and years ago.
Starting point is 00:08:19 You know, Thomas Keller was a master of sort of understanding the law of diminishing returns when it came to food. He understood the law of diminishing returns. He understood that if I give you a big plate full of food and it's all the same food, that by the third or fourth bite,
Starting point is 00:08:38 you're going to be kind of, you know, you're going to be kind of where you're at with how much this is going to excite you. You see the exact opposite in terms of TikTok and the pouring of unlimited pleasures and tantalization into your eyeballs ad nauseum, right? Everybody feels it. Everybody knows it.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Seek experiences over possessions. Ah, you know. I guess so. I guess so. I mean, I think you need a little bit of both, in my opinion. Seek time over money. Yeah, I mean, it's all good, you know, it's good advice. Don't get me wrong.
Starting point is 00:09:17 It's been my whole motivation since 2016 time over money. But, you know, bills come down. do. So I understand both sides of that equation. It's good, but at the same time, bills come do, right? And also, there are things that you can do with money that are really great. You know what I mean? There are things that we do every year that require money that I wouldn't want to do without. I wouldn't want to live without. You know what I mean? So, I mean, time over money, I have been lucky enough to be able to pull it off. I've had support to pull it off. I've had you to pull it off. I've had hard work and consistency to pull it off.
Starting point is 00:09:55 I'd have to, you know. But I also know that there are people who are trapped, man, in debt and all that kind of stuff. And no, we can't pull it off. Got to go to work every day. You know, it looks great. I'd love to be with my family all day instead of what work. But, you know, just is what it is. Regularly spend time in nature.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Essential. Absolutely essential. You can walk, you know, I'm gifted to live amongst the trees. I really am. As much as a pain as they can be. B. You know, there's a treat to the left of me right now that is, if it were gone, my garden would grow even better. But, you know, I think it's like the sheer oxygenation of it all. It's the solitude of it all. It's the oxygenation of it all. You know, it's like a hyperbaric
Starting point is 00:10:41 chamber when you think about it, right? It's like, here I go. I'm going to go into this environment where everything around me is just spitting out oxygen. perform acts of service and generosity you can't do this enough you literally can't do this enough practice forgiveness if you don't you'll be evil foster wonder yeah that's a good one that's a good one man never let the child in you die you know don't pursue happiness pursue meaning that's pretty good too that's the final one don't pursue happiness pursue meaning yeah all good advice man all great really Stuff that'll get you.
Starting point is 00:11:22 You could turn your life around, man. Gratitude, service, those things will turn your life around. Forgiveness can really turn your life around. And a lot of times you find that gratitude and that forgiveness in the woods, walk around the woods, think about your life. What am I holding on to? What kind of nightmarish demons am I holding on to? And I need to let them go.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Because if you go against that, you know, if you become selfish and hateful and never forgive, then you will become a demon. you'll be changing your name to Aisha and you'll be a demon. So to round out Friday, folks, on Red Beacon Daily News, we're going to read a very short poem, a four-liner from the great Ralph Waldo Emerson, a man who really did sort of bring about the American Renaissance. And for all of you out there who are listening and who are thinking,
Starting point is 00:12:16 please go to Red Beacon Media.com, go to the lightkeepers section and submit something, submit four lines of prose, four lines of poetry. I really can't have this platform become what I wanted to become without the lightkeepers. I really want to foster some bit of the next American Renaissance, the one to stand against artificial intelligence, the one to also in this moment where we are at least unified against AI and data centers and big corporations,
Starting point is 00:12:48 let's use this as a time to bring about the beauty of literature and poetry and art. Because these are essential. These are not like, oh, I'm not into that stuff. No, you have to be into that stuff. You know what I mean? You have to be into that stuff lest you, lest everything we build becomes a right angle of concrete. So let's read The Bell by Ralph Waldo Emerson. And then you go ahead and enjoy your weekend, all right?
Starting point is 00:13:21 I love thy music, mellow bell. I love thine iron chime. To life or death to heaven or hell, which calls the sons of time. That's it. Simple, to the point. I grew up with the church down the street, and I remember waking up to those bells. I miss those days, man. There's warm summer mornings where the church bells clanged and you woke up and, oh my God, another day, another lonely, boring day to be a teenager,
Starting point is 00:13:56 or another day to be a teenager in love. You know how it goes. Enjoy your weekend, folks. Thanks so much for joining us. It is Red Beacon Daily News. Spread the word. Become a lightkeeper. We'll talk to you next week.
