Starting point is 00:00:00 We are your lizard overlords. Stop listening to these preppers. Eat your crickets. Fight in the streets, own nothing and love it. You know that's a fun sound bite but what really makes it awesome, you don't realize these things when you're capturing them at the time, but what really makes it timeless and awesome for me Is that that weird high-pitched lizard thing at the end? Was my son playing in the room next to me and I was hurrying up to try to record that sound bite
Starting point is 00:00:58 he had woken up early on a Saturday and He was over there playing and I'd you know know I just went for it and he timed it just just the life timing the timing of life was such that he popped out with that at the very end when I was finished I mean if he'd done it in the middle of it it would have been crap but he did it at the very end unbeknownst to him and just created a you know an awesome sound bite something that whenever I hear it I can picture him at that age very cool it's ration of ruin day six folks it's a no-eaty day it's it's a it's a nuts and berries kind of day one of the things
Starting point is 00:01:39 that this become very evident to me tomorrow we're gonna do a full breakdown ration of ruin report don't miss itelf and the power hour guys. So don't miss that. But one of the things that's clearly evident about this challenge is time. Is I've got plenty of work to do, kid stuff to do. Like I have so much stuff outside of forage and fish that it might be a flaw, actually, in the challenge itself. Now here's something that I never considered until talking to you is I could have woken my ass up at five in the morning, fished for 45 minutes, drove home so my wife could head off to work before I wake the kids up and all that and start the day.
Starting point is 00:02:30 That's a viable option. You know, to what lengths are you willing to go? But I think it's, I think it's something to consider. Like the evening would be a perfect time to fish, but you know what? I have to go get shoes and get my son a haircut Get my son a pair of new shoes and a haircut so I'm sitting here thinking about like this is a little bit of a flaw in sort of the ration of ruin concept right because if we're at the point where we're
Starting point is 00:02:55 eating survival food and Foraging and hunting to survive Then the burden of the nine to 5 will be gone. It's not like you're gonna be foraging to eat and survive. There'd be no point in working. Why would you go to work if you can't afford food at all? You know what I mean? Then what's the point? So that's a weird one. You know, if I had, I think these days would be much better if I had four hours five hours To just go play Fishermen you know but my son and I we did go out
Starting point is 00:03:32 Sunday we went to a couple new places that we'd never really fish before because he's really really getting into fishing now It's a lot of fun. So we're trying out some new lakes and ponds and we really did bad. You know, we did really bad and trying out some new lakes and ponds and we really did bad. You know we did really bad and that you know it was it had rained the whole day before so the creek that we went to fish was like brown muck high running fast the pond was not very responsive either. So we find ourselves in this situation now if I'd listen to my wife I'd be eating because she told me to start putting traps out back on during the weekend and I actually have have accidentally created an amazing spot for a trap that I'm going to set a 110 Canna bear for a
Starting point is 00:04:16 squirrel or maybe chipmunk I'm not sure I don't think it would really be worth it to kill a cute little chipmunk but I'll kill a squirrel I have the perfect bait and if it works I'll show you the whole setup that happened kind of by accident you know what I mean but that's enough about that but like I said we'll go deep into detail lessons learned don't miss the ROR report because this challenge like all challenges that we do here at PBM has really really changed some things and changed the way I look at some things and I don't even know what the guys are gonna report so it's gonna be
Starting point is 00:04:56 even better than just that so join us tomorrow night for that I'm not gonna stick around too long we have our members only podcast that is going out today it's called the Golden podcast Trump and expectations. That's what the podcast is covering Thursday every day for those of you who don't know is members only podcast day. I don't do any video I don't do any kind of well formulated podcast the members get a podcast on their own but today I just got the phone here and One of the things that ration Arun reminded me of is the fact that I can pick this phone up and do a podcast to
Starting point is 00:05:36 The podcast audience whenever I want and I'm gonna do more of that. They don't have to be big They don't have to be crazy. They can be prepper tips of the day, that kind of little stuff. But just to give the podcast, you know, this is what's happened, okay? I have no doubts about it, this is what's happened. The stats even say it. In our quest to start video and to get video all handled and working well, I have seen a reduction
Starting point is 00:06:01 in the podcast audience and I think, I think that's just because of that, you know It's just because of the fact that the video content maybe not doesn't play as well to the podcast audience or it's different or whatever the situation is but In the hustle look, I'm one man. You know what? I mean? I'm one guy. I don't have a creative team I don't have a marketing team. I don't have you know, I wouldn't even want it to be honest with you You know a lot of people can't wrap their head around that a lot of people can't wrap their head around this idea of like Like the hosts will ask because they're wonderful. They'll be like, what can we help you with? What can we help you with?
Starting point is 00:06:37 and a lot of times I'm just like man this thing I want to be manageable and That's what I want. You know, I wanted to be manageable and that's what I want you know I wanted to remain manageable in this form like I'm really I really want to go for the unthinkable the impossible that's what that's what I would like to do I would like to get to a point where we can build on this network. We can get money into the hands of the the hosts on a regular basis and Live comfortably and all that kind of stuff and do so in a way that doesn't require me to have a Monday morning meeting With ten people and then to get a home and oh my god
Starting point is 00:07:19 I need to call is it what well who's the guy in charge of publishing the podcast? Oh who created the ad who did this? Who's got to return this email? I don't want any of that I love waking up as the intrepid commander having my list of to-do's knocking out those lists of to-do's Shutting the book going into dad and husband mode. This is it. You know what I mean? To take on 16 17 other things that are gonna ruin my life you know what as things get bigger and bigger and bigger that's why I brought on help at disaster coffee it yeah it became too much for
Starting point is 00:07:59 one guy so if it becomes too much for one guy then I guess you you deviate out a little bit but I'm not I'm not interested in a big monster to manage here at PBN maybe I'm wrong for it I don't know you know I'm only one guy figuring this thing out but I really am trying to shoot for the impossible by having a really awesome operation that can stand on its own two feet and gives me the ability to talk to people and email directly email you you know what I mean like when when you email PBN and you got a problem like you're emailing me directly and there's something about that man I don't know I just I don't want to lose that you know I have a problem with Shopify I have
Starting point is 00:08:40 to talk to an AI robot to figure it out So, you know, this is what it is I was forging may apple earlier I Can't tell you that like forging may apple is something that you should really get into It's better than the it's better than the yellow dock Was it yellow dot? What was it? Yeah it was the better it's better than the yellow dock root that I was chewing on the other day but it ain't great you know what I mean but it is a wild edible it's nothing compared to the mulberries my son and I have been eating almost daily I can tell you that's been
Starting point is 00:09:20 fun you know what I mean that's been a good time. So yeah, you know, it is what it is. Prepping in the 21st century, do it. Do it hard. Do not discount DIY food storage. God in heaven, do not discount that. And yeah, I may be releasing a new series. I don't know, it might be for members. It might be for all, but I don't know. Over the last few years, I've come to realize that there are a lot of prepper standbys that don't hold up. There are a lot of things in the prepping world
Starting point is 00:10:02 that after being tested or after really thinking about them or after going through the process of using them, they just don't hold up. You know what I mean? We saw that like in the last, I think it was either, I think it was Azure Highland 2 or whatever that was, the second one was that the life straw kind of is, you know, like, like, it's not a water, it's not a real water solution. You know what I mean? And it was touted by everybody in every way is being sort of like, you know, you gotta have a life straw. And I'm just thinking after hearing Ben's challenges with it and messing with it myself, it's kind of one of these things where it's like, yeah, there's a lot of things that could do that way better now, you know?
Starting point is 00:10:52 And it's just something, you know, there's a lot of these things. There's some big, big things that every prepper has talked about, done, said that through these challenges to... Hey hey get away from there Sorry my dog looks like it's sniffing a snake I don't think it is but I don't want to risk it But anyway a lot of these really big big big things in the prepping world that are fundamentally like ploys to get you to spend money, I feel like. And I wouldn't mind debunking some of them.
Starting point is 00:11:33 It could cost me some money, but you know what I mean, it could cost me some opportunity for sure. But I think there's something to it. And you know, if our goal is to get people prepared the right way, then why not, why not debunk them, you know? So it's a big wide world out there. You know, you're, you need to, you need to expand out into that big wide world. You need to set some time aside for yourself to do the things that you love
Starting point is 00:12:03 each and every day, even if it's only 10, 15, 20 minutes, you need to set some time aside for yourself to do the things that you love each and every day, even if it's only 10, 15, 20 minutes. You need to understand that taking care of yourself is taking care of everyone around you and not taking care of yourself is setting everyone up around you for a disaster eventually. Right. This is a lesson that that a lot of people who take care of other people have to fundamentally understand and commit to. Okay and if you don't think this is preparedness, trust me this is preparedness because every guy who's ever gone through a disaster in the near future here on the Prepper Broadcasting Network has reached a point where they're ready to kill somebody because something didn't work right, something didn't go right, something didn't this right, something didn't that right.
Starting point is 00:12:46 write something didn't this right something didn't that right and you know the only way out of that is to is to really commit to taking care of yourself so you you have the tools necessary to deal with the calamity it won't do you any good if you're throwing things around your house because you're frustrated and and you know you've given all you can give or whatever right? I'm telling you right now. It may seem silly it may seem like selfish or whatever but Yeah Make sure you're living this life Carpe Diem PBN family You know it's a beautiful world.
Starting point is 00:13:26 You're a beautiful thing. You're a beautiful part of this world. You arrived here for a reason. If you have any kind of faith whatsoever, you know you're not just a clump of cells that grew into a thing that consumes. There's more to you than that. If you listen to PBN, chances are you're doing things
Starting point is 00:13:44 of value. That's the beautiful thing about talking to you than that if you listen to PBN chances are you're doing you're doing things of value Right. That's the beautiful thing about talking to you guys is I'm not talking to the average person I'm talking to somebody who who adds great value to their situation in most cases. I talked to you guys I know you on the membership side in particular, you know and The world is better because you're here so what that means is you owe it to the world to take care of yourself okay in as many ways as you can think to so don't push yourself to the bottom of the barrel don't push yourself to the back of the bus, make sure you set aside some time to care for you
Starting point is 00:14:26 so that you can care for everything else. Enjoy your day, PBN family.
