already has theirs in-rout and they're going to be tuning in Sunday for the comms check. Let's talk about the comms check and let's talk about the commander. Okay. What did we find out about once a month? the continuity, the monthly comms check.

I think what I personally found out is it's not consistent enough for me. It also doesn't leave room for error. So during all this National Preparedness Month buildup and these interviews and doing all these things, I just got to the point where I decided, you know what? Let's just go every week. Let's go every week. We're going to do a comms check every Sunday at 9 p.m. On the National Radio Net or the Prepper National Radio Net at SkycomPTT, once it loads up, I'll show you what it looks like.

It's going to be real quick, pardon me, and real easy. But what I like about the weekly comms check, look, we're not, here's the key to what we're doing. We're using Pock technology, which depends on some cell tower. working. It doesn't mean that you're necessarily your cell tower has to work. Doesn't matter that, right, your provider has to work. Things can be seriously disrupted in the cell world and Pock link still works, right? If all the powers out, EMP the whole thing, Pock ain't going to help you. That's just a long and short of that. I've talked about that in the past. But you see this PR national radio. If you have a Skycom device, you're already

going to have this loaded on your phone, okay? Or I'm sorry, loaded on your radio. So it's there. I was going to do a PBN talk group. Let's do a PBN talk group. Let's make it simple. Let's make it consistent. We're going to hop on this Prepper National Radio Net every Sunday, 9 p.m. Eastern. And all we're going to do is we're going to hit the park. The two-way button here, blink. And we're going to say, radio check, James, Intrepid Commander, Nuke, Guru, whatever you want to do, your name, your alias, something else silly. We don't need to know who you are, right? The whole purpose of this radio check is so that you can get used to this thing in your hand and how to use it. And knowing that you can reach people, right?

radio check intrepid commander richmond virginia uh don't go to any bakeries because you might be mistaken for a cutie pie some kind of a dad joke okay some sort of a dad joke at the end of your radio check i actually sent that in text my wife last week and she called me after i sent the first half and kind of spoiled a joke But she loves dad jokes. So I try to send her as consistently as possible. So radio check, Intrepid Commander, Richmond, Virginia, dad joke, finger off the button, wait for the next person to check in. Listen to their radio check.

Laugh about their joke. Wait for the next person to check. This is very simple. This is as simple as it gets. It can get more involved later. We can use it for other things later. but weekly I want to see a group involved in these checks and I'd like to see that group grow you know why skycom why not Pocklink why not ham radio why why you know what I mean

why not something else there are no limits we can reach everyone right with the Pock technology so everyone can be a part of it who who gets a radio and uh It was a recommendation from Chin fundamentally. Chin came to me about two months ago and said, hey, I want you to meet this guy, Mike, from Skycom. I'm selling radios for him. I'm being an ambassador for him. And I said, yeah, I'm in.

I'm in. The new iteration was just making sure that we have our weekly check-in now. Okay, this model right here is called the G2 available over there. What are you doing? Sorry. My dog looked like he was sniffing a copperhead over here. It'll come preloaded, so we'll be able to do what we're doing. You know what I mean? You'll be able to hop right in. As soon as the radio comes in, boom, you'll be able to hop right in and do your thing. And that's kind of what.

Goomba. Come on, buddy. There's more grass in the yard somewhere else. You got to go eat somewhere else. Guma's over here. The dogs, I don't know what comes off. There's some kind of radiation that comes off the tripod. They're drawn right to the tripod.

I don't know. It's really weird thing. Most of the time I've learned lock them in the house when you're doing broadcast. But it's so nice, man. It's so beautiful out that it's hard for me to do. Because I love nothing more than to see them just laid out in the sun. You know what I mean? I feel like there's something going on.

It's like when we lay out in the sun, you know we're getting some wonderful stuff. Anyhow, don't miss the radio check every week. Okay, we'll get back to the continuity, but let's open up with the radio check. And that's open to everybody, right? Just imagine if you do four radio checks in a month's time, what you're going to be feeling like, right?

How good you're going to be feeling about your radio. My radio has GMRS on it, too, so maybe we'll play around with that. radio check channel scan i don't know radio check we'll figure it out as we go but um every sat sunday night 9 pm eastern okay you want an emergency comm solution outside of your cell phone this is a good start the technology is so simple that even your kids can understand it press the button talk in right you create a talk group that contains your just your family you can do that also with your radio But I don't want to talk just about radios today, folks.

I want to talk to you guys. This is surviving America, though, beyond sort of the gas price that continues to increase. I don't know. I haven't been really focused on news largely. Oh, by the way, probably the coolest water on the market. Nah? Water ready to drink. WR.D.

I don't know if you guys saw. all this. I put this on the show a few days ago. They sent me a couple cases of this stuff, actually. Ten years shelf life canned water. No plastic if you're worried about plastics and that kind of thing. What is it? 16 fluid ounce. It's good stuff too. Definitely good once the coffee drinking in the midday is over. Water ready to drink. Check them out. That's kind of an ad, but not really. I haven't been paying a lot of attention to national news. Largely, I've been paying attention to local news.

It seems to be much more beneficial. Or I haven't been paying attention to news much at all. And I don't know. You know, like what am I missing? Right? What am I missing out on big stuff? Big threats. There are big threats that I need to worry about.

My plan's pretty intensive. There's some things that I'm going to modify a little bit, but outside of that, it's really well done. their technology to sort of create your emergency preparedness plan off of your location. And if you're worried about OPSEC, just don't give them your exact location. This is not my, I don't live it on Junaluska Drive in Richmond, Virginia. You know what I mean? But I still get all the news in the Be Aware dashboard dashboard and all the history of, you know, those kinds of things are still relevant and still make their way into the plan.

So at the moment, it looks like we got 903 power outages in the area. Looks like there's a big collection of them near South Richmond. 221. This is like a big incident, incidents here. At the moment, we have no emergency alerts. So that's good. You can get the idea on that, see how that's going. We've got cloud flare issues.

There's been a lot of local cloud flare issues lately. Yeah, strange. Environmental, everything's low. All the rivers are low. Perfect for fishing. Wonderful. See what's going on in the world. Teenager and her 11-month-old baby missing.

That's not good. Chesterfield Housefire. I know we had a kid at a school around here that, man, it was a dark story yesterday. Two adults seriously injured in Chesterfield County Housefire, student officially injured, was critically injured in Meadowbrook High School incident. Yeah, that was it. Gasline striking Petersburg prompts evacuation.

Oh, man arrested after brandishing knife at children's soccer game in Chesterfield. Yeah. This news, guys, is just. just so much more valuable to me than, you know, what's happening in some place, in some far-off place. It's just much more valuable. That's all I can tell you. You know what I mean? It's just, I don't know. It's better. The ability to know what's going on locally has a lot more value to you than sort of trying to keep up with the world news and the national news and the international news and the international news and the stock market news and the war news and the what's going on in Europe

you'll never believe and then you know the other thing that's tricky is you see these outrageous clips on the internet and these outrageous clips are kind of tricky because you'll see something terrible happen and you'll be like oh my god i can't believe that and then you'll find out it was in like you know 500 miles away from where you actually are Nothing wrong with knowing what's going on. But like, how does your brain deal with that? You know, how is your brain supposed to really deal with that? How is it supposed to go?

Is this a threat yes or no? And should I prepare for it? Will it be something that we have to deal with here? You know, all those kind of things. So for me, I've been really looking at personalized and local news to really kind of, number one, free my mind up a little bit. You know, there's just a lot of great stuff to be doing with our, time. There's a lot of great stuff to be doing with our time. You know, it's national prepared this

month. Like a phenomenal time. I wrote up a short post on Reddit today and asked about if, if preppers do anything, you know, unique or special because it's national preparedness model, I was just interesting. I like, I like prompting that group. There's a lot of people over it. It's like 200,000 people or something. And one of the things the lady said that I thought was really interesting was she takes national preparedness month to be her winter warmup, you know, check generators, check pantries, inventories, check all the sort of winter preparedness items, fuels, heaters, that kind of stuff. Like she looks at national preparedness month as kind of a winter warmup in order to be

ready for that, you know, should October roll around and all of a sudden, oh God, a cold snap runs through. And then on top of that, whoops, power outage, you know, maybe you're not in the position to do the things that you want to be doing. She'll be in position. She'll be in position. The question I asked overall was about prepping traditions because I was thinking about September usually being the prepper camp month. And this, as demanding as running 30 interviews is in a month, I think this will also become a tradition for us here at PBN. We have a lot of PBN traditions, right? We have the holiday catalog that comes out every year.

We'll be prepping that soon. But we got a lot of traditions here at PBN. And I started thinking about that. Do we have preparedness traditions out there in the world that other people participate in? Do you? Let me know if you do have them. You know what I mean? I don't mean drills, you know?

but like is there a urban survival wilderness survival training that you and your family do once per year you know what i mean and it's that kind of thing um all that kind of stuff you know what i mean like we have these opportunities to take a breather and look over our preps you know and one of the most important things that you can do is q and a your stuff man anybody who's ever thrown a get-home bag in a car or hung a bug-out bag in a closet and forgot about it for a year and reopened it up. Like, you know the importance of QA. You know, you know if you've been in that position that you're going to run across some food in there that you're not going to eat.

You're going to run into like, one of the things that I think is always funny about revisiting old bugout bags is you run into tools that you know you're never going to use. use, right? In a year's time, you would likely have developed a skill set or a better tool to do a certain job, but you don't replace it in a certain bag. And then you find yourself in a situation where you're like, wow, look at this big, look at this big goofy six-in-one survival knife that is, you know, partial tang. And you know, sorry, my dog's going crazy. And you know that that nice going to fail you if you put it under real duress and you know that you don't even need a small percentage of the things that are like stuffed in the handle you know what i mean but just is what it is right that's all part of growing and learning as a prepper so i kind of want

to show you the uh i've been talking to these guys at at get ready dot team and we're going to We're going to leverage the guys at get ready. team and our friends at be prepared solutions to really create a special new show I'm going to call Can You Survive? We're going to start with an asteroid impact, okay? That's going to be episode one. And we're going to use these technologies to sort of ask the question to you, can you survive this? And we'll go over a timeline, you know, first day, first week, first month, you know, that kind of thing, and describe the same.

situation and have you guys sort of bounce around in your head is this something that we'd be able to survive but we're going to use some really fun really cool actually you know what in order to do this i don't think the city evacuation maps the one that i should show you what i should show you where is it is it gone no there we go what i should show you is the solar storm lab now these tools are just fun you know what i mean I mean, they're just a whole lot of fun on top of being effective. But I want to give you sort of a peek, a sneak peek of what will show up in these shows. There we go.

Give it a second. Okay. So, find the storm that turns your lights off. Okay. This thing is sweet, man. There we go. Your grid outage risk from G4. If hit twice G3 confidence high.

Okay. So that gives you an idea of what to look for. But then we have this amazing. Look at this. How crazy is this? Right? Here's our beautiful planet. Here's our beautiful sun.

We can move it around. This is at get ready. dot team, okay? For those of you just listening to the podcast, there's a picture on the left of the earth and its magnetic field. and then on, I'm sorry, on the right of the Earth and its magnetic field, and on the left is the sun, right? So we've got an X-10 solar flare.

We're going to crank that up to an X-45 solar flare. And then we can do the dirty work. We can launch the coronal mass ejection by clicking this button, right? And you get a look at it. I mean, it shoots it over at you. Boom, hits the Earth. It's sure we can zoom in on the Earth. It shows sort of the effects on the Earth itself, right?

You can strike the area again if you want, but after it runs, it's going to show you, right? It holds until G4. That was the critical area for us, right? It's pretty cool, man. See, we're lit up right there. I don't know how far in we can zoom. I think that's about it. But it gives you that idea, man, of what, you know, what kind of damage that does.

There are a ton of these tools over there that you can play around with. fallout tools in the whole nine yards. The grid is down. Who's coming? We hit the Golden Horde evacuation map. The Golden Horde evacuation map tells you all kinds of cool stuff too. You see? The world of Prepertech, as I mentioned, is radically changing. The world of personalized preparedness is upon us, right?

It's here. This is what it is. And I'm going to do my best for you. also going to be doing a new show called contingency tech. And contingency tech is going to be an exploration of a lot of these different types of prep or tech that are out there. I don't know that you'll ever find a particular piece of technology that will serve you. But I think you'll be more than capable of developing your own sort of EDV, as I call it, right? You're sort of everyday viewer, your everyday viewing, right?

Like we have our EDC, our everyday carry. Or maybe it's an EDI, you know what I mean? Maybe what it really is rather than EDV is EDI. It's your everyday intelligence. So I think that's an important piece of the puzzle nowadays, man. Right? Your EDI is just as important as your EDC. What are you going out into?

What are you going to face today? What are the things that you're going to deal with? a lot of these technologies, man, they do a great job of bringing that information to the forefront and and tailoring it to you right down to your zip code based off of tons and tons of data. The truth of the matter is, folks, I'm having a lot of fun with a lot of different people these days. You know what I mean? I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel in terms of sort of all of the threats that we face collectively. And it's not because of knowledge that I have.

It's because of the people that are around me. You know, we've probably given out 10 different promo codes and several different free things that you could do this month just owe to these interviews. And there's just so much, there's just so much in PBN right now. You know what I mean? latch on to those people, latch on to what they want to teach you, take full advantage of this network and the advice and the people and the tech that we bring you.

And then with all of that, I think the final goal really is to sort of begin to craft, begin to craft the sort of life headquarters that you want to have, whether that be a hyper-tactical, sit rep, you know, daily threat analysis, sort of EDI that you get into day in and day out, coupled with a radical training regiment, fine. Or maybe that looks more like a slow morning that starts in the garden and then moves into baking bread and canning food and, you know, all these sort of things.

Like, I've always said that there is such freedom and such fulfillment in prepping and self-reliance. and homesteading, really sink into it.
