I'm your host Carl B.
And hopefully everybody's had a pretty good week.
It's been really cold up here in upstate New York.
If any of my listeners are from upstate New York, they'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
York. They'll know exactly what I'm talking about. We've had some really crazy weather that blew through, you know, about two days ago. And it's been crazy. But, you know, it's what happens in
New York. We just kind of forgot about it, you know, with all the mild weather and everything
else. We got a little spoiled. But, you know, in in years past this is what winter used to be here
normally anyway you know and in my recent memory so um uh hopefully uh wherever you are wherever
you're listening to this right it's not so bad and uh you know um i'm guessing that this, what is it, polar vortex is supposed to kind of roll back up north here pretty soon.
And we'll be seeing those 30 degrees, you know, temperatures again.
It's going to seem like summertime.
The other day I went outside, turned, you know, went, turned my car on.
It was what? It was like five below zero. The other day I went outside, turned my car on.
It was like five below zero.
And I know that this morning was probably a little cooler than that.
But this is in the morning.
It did get up to about 15, 18 degrees.
So it hasn't been so bad here. So yeah uh you know crazy weather right but we're
all getting through it we're all just riding with it and uh you know just kind of getting on with
our lives uh you know lots of stuff have been happening in the news uh today i am going to
talk a little bit about news on the economic front, you know, what's going on economically.
And, you know, we're going to see what's happening there as well as I also want to talk a little bit about, you know, what's going on in the news.
You know, the censoring, the whole thing about the whole climate change and how it's not resonating with the young as much as they really thought it would.
And, you know, and that's partly thanks to the power of, you know, well, alternate media, right?
You know, a free press.
They call us misinformation when they're the ones that are, you know, dishing out and censoring things, you know, dishing out misinformation and they're the ones that are you know dishing out and censoring things you know
dishing out misinformation and they're censoring us uh you know um if they're telling the truth
well then why they're why are they afraid you know they should be able to convince people that
you know uh that their arguments are are the ones that are true um running good, powerful stories instead of, you know, probably, you know,
well, a lot of them now are probably just using AI systems just to write a bunch of their stories,
or they're just cutting and pasting from other web platforms into their own. You know, the day
of the real hard investigative reporting, a lot of that is gone.
And it's all about their own opinions.
I remember watching an episode of, what was it, King of the Hill.
And Peggy's computer had kind of like, you know, it didn't blow up, but it just went wacky.
And and she lost a lot of her articles and stuff like that.
And she starts screaming my opinions, you know, because, of course, you know, she she really values her opinions so highly.
And, you know, so, yeah, she was freaking out because a lot of her articles were gone.
I think that's the state of the mainstream media today.
Right. They're all freaking out.
And then the people who wants to censor stuff.
The question is why I don't want to censor anything.
I want an open platform where I can debate people.
I can say, OK, here are your opinions.
Here are mine. Let's debate.
Right. You know, you show me why I'm why I'm wrong and and show me why you're right.
OK. And I'm always open to that. You know, open mic. Right.
I'm always open to that. But a lot of people, they don't think that way, unfortunately.
So I'm going to run. I'm going to I'm going to, you know, I'm going to run a few ads from our sponsors here, and then we're going to get straight into it.
We have some interesting stuff to cover today, so I just kind of want to get into it.

Okay.
We're unique that way.
All right.
So let's really get into it.
You know, I want to talk about the economy and what's going on with the economy.
And there are a few articles here that I am going to read.
And this one comes from Natural News.
I think this one is by Tyler Durden.
Right. Let's see. And this one comes from Natural News. I think this one is by Tyler Durden, right?
Let's see.
No, it doesn't have anyone claiming it.
So this is one from Natural News. It says, month over month, U.S. budget deficit rose by 50% in December as financial collapse looms.
And it says here, the U.S. Treasury has reported budget deficit information
for December, and the situation is so dire that some experts believe a physical collapse is
inevitable. As the government continues to spend an eye-watering amount of money, it should come
as no surprise that total outlays were $559 billion last month, while just $429 billion was brought in through taxes.
This results in a deficit for the month of December of $129.4 billion, which is 52% higher than one year ago.
go. This deficit jump has sent total government debt above $34 trillion for the first time on record, with the Treasury Department data showing that outstanding total public debt hit $34.001
trillion on December 29. The development did not come as much of a surprise as it surpassed the $33 trillion just three months ago.
Should the current pace continue, CNBC reports that 2024 will end with a deficit exceeding
$2 trillion.
When you consider the fact that December is traditionally a month of fairly tame deficit
numbers, it is clear that the situation is untenable.
In the past, the December
deficit typically registered somewhere in the range of $10 to $20 billion. In 2020, it reached
an all-time high of $140 billion before a big drop in 2021, followed by a rebound in 2022.
Last month's tax receipts of $429.3 billion marked a drop of 5.6% from the $554.9 billion recorded in December of 2022 and a drop of 11.8% over December 2021 figure. Moreover, December saw the ninth consecutive year over year drop in last 12 months LTM tax
receipts, which is something that typically only takes place when the economy is experiencing a
recession. I will say that I'll read that again. Moreover, December saw the ninth consecutive year-over-year drop in last 12 months LTM tax receipts,
which is something that typically only takes place when the economy is experiencing a recession.
Now, remember, a couple years ago, about two years ago, we told you here in PBN that the
country was in a recession. We told you that because every single benchmark
was met for a recession. You know, 16 years ago, if those points had been met, you know, if those
benchmarks had been met 16 years ago, then, you know, mainstream media would have come out and
said, yes, we're in a recession. I'm sure that if Mr. Trump was in, we'd have, you know, those
benchmarks would be like, yeah, we're in a recession, right? Now, because of course, they have a guy
in that, you know, he can do no wrong. He walks on water. Right. He completely agrees with everything that they espouse.
Right. You know, they said, well, no, we're not in a recession, although every single benchmark for a recession,
as has been met, we're not in a recession. And they've lied to the public for what?
The last two, three years. OK. And said, we're not in a recession.
We're not in a recession. You know not in a recession. When inflation has been through the roof, people's grocers have been, the grocer bills have been crazy.
Folks have been losing jobs like crazy.
I think one of the articles I'm going to read is just how many layoffs there is going to be either coming up or, you know, happened recently.
And the whole economic outlook has been crazy.
And we've been saying this for a long time.
But, you know, in mainstream media, right, the CNNs and the NBCs have been saying everything has been OK.
You know, they're just saying, hey, you know, guys, you know, you just got to suck it up.
Suck it up and,uck it up and go green.
Suck it up, go green.
Freeze because you don't have enough power.
Whatever.
Just suck it up.
And of course, everything is rosy.
It's just laughable.
Everything is rosy. You know, it's just laughable when, you know, if Mr.
Trump gets elected and if the figures are still the same, will they then say we're in a recession?
Right. We'll have exactly the same numbers. Right.
And the same situation we have now, if Mr. Trump gets in in November.
Right. Hitting all the same benchmarks.
I'm wondering if the mainstream media will then come out and say,
yeah, we're in a recession now, guys.
When Mr. Biden was in with the same numbers, we were not in a recession.
When Mr. Trump is in with the same numbers, we're in a recession, right?
I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous.
And that's why no one trusts them.
No one trusts them anymore.
Okay, so there you have that story, right?
Here is another story.
This one is from All News Pipeline.
And I found this was interesting. And this is by Susan Duculos.
And it says, there is never an ideal time to be laid off or fired.
But being handed your pink slip during the holiday season of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year, is a kick to the gut.
Yet for thousands of Americans, that is exactly what happened in December 2023.
2024 is seeing a continuation of this pattern
as companies like Xerox, founded in 1906,
and the Halloyd Photographic Company
has let go 15% of their workforce.
Johnsonville Sausage, 400.
Enphase Energy, 340.
Twitch, the popular live streaming platform for gamers, is laying off more than 500 employees, which is about one third of its workforce.
Citigroup is cutting 10% of its workforce.
About 20,000 employees to be let go over the medium term.
Wow, 20,000 employees from Citigroup.
It's a bank, right? But we're not in a recession and everything is rosy and everything is fine let's see um on wednesday google confirmed that it had
cut hundreds of engineering and hardware workers as it sought to cut costs and refocus on artificial
intelligence according to washington post via msn amazon is cutting jobs as, according to Washington Post via MSN. Amazon is cutting jobs
as well, according to the same source. These cuts follow cuts already made in 2022 and 2023.
The cuts at Amazon and Google this week are small compared to the many thousands of workers the two
companies fired in 2022 and 2023. Amazon said it was cutting around 27,000 workers beginning
at the end of 2022 and continuing through 2023. Google cut 12,000 jobs in January 2023 and about
6% of its workforce. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, said at the end of 2022, it would cut 11,000 jobs or 13% of its workers.
On Saturday, the Messenger reported 35 technology companies have laid off a combined 5,586 workers over the past two weeks,
according to industry layoff tracker layoffs.fyi.
That's something we need to check out, right?
Layoffs.fyi.
Another little tidbit from that article, 1,190 tech companies laid off a combined of, wow,
390 tech companies laid off a combined of, wow, 262,682 workers last year, according to layoffs.
FYI.
Another other 2024 job cuts we know of so far from USA Today.
OK, here we go.
Universal Music Group will lay off hundreds of employees, Bloomberg reports.
Disney's Pixar could cut staff by 20% this year, TechCrunch reports.
Discord will eliminate 17% of its employees to sharpen focus, The Verge reports.
Amazon will lay off hundreds of Prime Video and MGM studio workers, The Hollywood Reporter writes, as well as 5% of its Audible staff.
BlackRock would lay off 3% of its global workforce, Bloomberg reports.
The NFL has offered buyouts to around 200 of its 1,100-person staff, CNBC reports.
Rent the Runway will cut 10% of its corporate employees, including its COO, Bloomberg reports. Rent the Runway will cut 10% of its corporate employees, including its COO Bloomberg
reports. Unity Software will lay off 1,800 people, 25% of its workforce routers reports.
Duolingo will eliminate 10% of its contractor positions, Bloomberg reports. Newell Brands,
Sharpie, and Rubbermaid producer will cut 7% of his office roles.
The Wall Street Journal reports video amp would lay off 20% of his employees.
Ad Ants reports the messenger will cut around two dozen jobs.
The New York Times reports Cheddar has furloughed workers due to unforeseen factors in New York Times reports.
Happy freaking New Year, America.
Newsweek reports that the 2024 layoffs might end up affecting nearly half of companies.
They get that from a resume builder who surveyed more than 900 companies in December.
Wow.
Okay.
And it says, in the survey, nearly four in 10 companies said they're likely to have layoffs in 2024,
prompting increased fears of a recession around the corner.
More than half of companies also said they plan to implement a hiring freeze in 2024.
When asked why the companies were engaging in the layoffs, half said the anticipation of a recession was a reason.
Meanwhile, a little less, 4 in 10 said they were going to lay off employees and replace workers with artificial intelligence AI.
That 40% worried about AI replacing workers were smart to worry about that
since Google is reporting gearing up to lay off 30,000 employees
in its ad sale units in favor of AI ad tech.
So AI is eliminating a lot of these jobs,
right? You know, it's really taking, you know, a cut, right? Or delivering a massive hit to,
you know, to the workforce. And it's only going to get worse, folks.
The only thing I can tell you right now is if you have a job that AI
can replace, or if you work in an industry where you've been hearing about layoffs, you've got to
do something to try and, you know, recession proof or, you know, layoff proof your life.
lay off proof your life. And if that means having a little side job that can probably segue into a full-time job in case you lose your primary job, maybe this is a time for you to start taking some
steps to ensure that you have a way out. Or if you lose a primary source of income, then it's not going to be a killing blow.
You can still pay your bills.
You can still get by because it's coming.
And this is something I had a friend of mine who said,
because we were talking about all this news,
the recession, all this other stuff that's been going on.
And he was like, wow, this stuff is,
why is this stuff not in the mainstream media?
You know, for him, it was just, this stuff is just so important that this, this should
be what people are talking about, but it's not.
You know, they're talking about how much they want to protect us from Trump's lies.
And that's the big thing now.
That's, you know, and, And and and everything. Right. Trump.
And it's not about, you know, people who are hurting right now. They just want to focus on
what they want to focus on. That stuff is not important to most Americans. Most Americans could
care less about what's happening with Mr. Trump. They're more interested in what's going on with
their pocketbook at this point. You know, when you can't go out and buy the groceries you want,
when you can't, when you got to ration how you fill your car with gas,
when you're facing laws or when you're facing laws that's going to take away
something vital out of your life, like the type of car that you can drive,
especially if you live in cold areas, right?
That's way more important to people than what's going on with the Democratic Party or necessarily
what's going on with the Republican Party.
People are now looking at their bottom line.
And that's why I think the Democrats are worried because no matter how much they try to drown
things out, and they're going to they're gonna they're gonna try everything
to distract the American people from their problems so you know UFOs are gonna be in the news
this and that is gonna be in the news the vapid stars from Hollywood are gonna be in the news
all these people yeah I love a movie just like everybody else and I respect people who can act
and take you into a story,
right? And I respect that ability that they have. But that's where it ends with me, right? They're
not important to me, right? And, you know, for a long time, a lot of those people, right, you know,
they got every single news, you know, they were top of the news, but, and they're still top of
the news. But that's not what people are interested in, really.
People are interested in what is the government doing to lower prices, to lower my food costs,
to lower my gas prices.
That's what people are interested in.
People are interested in those important things that affect their lives, their children's
lives, right, and their pocketbook, and their lives, their children's lives, right? And their pocketbook.
And their safety, their personal safety.
What are the politicians doing to curb crime in our communities?
Right?
I mean, an open border cannot signify security, right?
That does not make people feel good.
And no matter how much they want to frame that as some kind of racial argument. Okay. You know, you know, because what
Trump made some, some, some comment, like there is an invasion going on at the border. Yes, there is,
there's uncontrollable surges of people coming through so much. So right. That the, the, the,
the democratic run cities that are so in favor of, you know, sanctuary cities don't want to deal with that stuff anymore.
But but because they're so backed and locked into their their their their rhetoric, they can't even admit that anymore.
Ain't that something when you can't admit that, you know, that that you're on the wrong path?
They're just locked. It's like circular fire. They're just locked into that, right?
They can't admit that they were wrong, right?
They can't admit it.
They can't admit that, wow, you know what?
This is not working, and we need to stop what's going on at the border.
They have framed that in such a way where it's such a xenophobic racial thing
instead of trying to deal with it in the right way,
saying that, okay, that's a security issue.
That's a national security issue.
We have to control that.
You know, yeah, we want to support people
who are trying to flee bad situations,
but, you know, we got to deal with that in a sane way.
And what's happening down there is not sane, right? Under any circumstance. But they
can't do that. And what's happening is that is going to affect poverty levels and crime and
everything else in America, right? Because it's going to be more of our tax dollars to pay to
feed and house and deal with all of that. It's going to create a lot more stress on our prison systems because
all the crime that's going to result from it. It's going to create
stress in every facet of our society and it is something that
we can manage if we do it in the correct way.
But no. It's not going to happen, right?
So right now we're facing,, well, we're already in a financial collapse that no one wants to acknowledge.
And it's amazing how that works.
Okay.
And, you know, they've been lying to the American people for years.
If you're just tuning into PBN, if you're, if you've just been red pilled, if, if this is the first time you're hearing it, welcome.
Welcome to the club.
We've been saying this, right?
I've been saying this on The Strange Truth.
We've been saying this on PBN, all the different hosts, PBN.
We've been saying this for years.
That, you know, we're in a recession.
And the economy, right, is tanking, right?
But this is something that the mainstream media will never address.
See?
I'm sure that if Mr. Trump was in power for the last four years,
we would have been in a recession with the exact same data that they have now.
That's how crooked the system is.
Right?
They say you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people
all the time.
I think that's the way the saying goes.
Right?
And they fool a lot of people.
Okay?
But I think that all of that is beginning to run out, And that's why. And that's why they're they're getting nervous about the whole thing.
They're getting really nervous about all of this stuff here that's going on.
OK, so let's read a little bit.
There was something that happened in Germany, too, where they fudged the numbers.
Where's that article?
Actually, here's here's something miraculous.
A revision rescues Germany from recession in latest data.
If you're listening overseas, if you're listening in Europe right now, I know that we have a lot of, you know, listeners from all over the world.
Okay?
Because it's bad all over the world.
Okay?
This green agenda has opened a lot of people's eyes to the fact that, you know what, we live in a really fragile world.
out of people's eyes to the fact that, you know what, we live in a really fragile world. And,
you know, if you don't want to be left in the cold and if you don't and if you don't want to be left where, you know, you know, where there's food shortages, then people are starting to prepare
and try to, you know, harden their lives up a little bit. Right. They're trying to,
you know, they're they're trying to make their life a little bit more resilient because of what they're seeing out there.
Right. The smart ones are. OK, so if you're living in Europe, right, you know, Europe's been in a recession.
No one ever wants to admit you guys have. You know, there was that story about the UK not having enough gas because a lot of other countries like Italy and Spain and
other countries right they they have a lot more uh natural gas in their reserves while the UK
haven't been really taking care of that problem right and and it's causing people a little worried
you know are they gonna have black blackouts because of that?
The climate agenda is just going crazy.
So miraculous upward revision rescues Germany from recession. It appears that Berlin has taken notes from their compatriots in Beijing when it comes to macroeconomic data goal seeking.
They really should have said and the united states as well they've taken notes
right when it comes to macro economic data goal seeking because that's also happening in the united
states as well right we've been doing it for the last three years since biden's been in says over
overnight saw preliminary reports that germany uh gdp growth tumbled uh 0.3% in quarter four. But do not worry, good citizen,
Europe's largest economy is not in recession because by the power of all things great and good,
quarter three, all right, negative 0.1 GDP growth print, which would have meant two quarters of
GDP declines or the classic marker for recession was revised up to an unchanged 0.0%.
Right. So not a recession at all.
Right. But no matter how much lipstick you put on this pig, it was a dismal year.
So, you know, they're fudging the numbers all over the place.
They're fudging them in the UK. They're fudging them here in Germany.
They're fudging. They've been fudging them here in the United States. They've been fudging them in the uk they're fudging them here in germany they're fudging they've been fudging them here in the in the united states they've been fudging them in in
china all over the place we're in a global recession right now that the powers that be do
not want to admit so make your life more resilient this is this is pbn right make your life more
resilient as we start 2024 this is january 2024 and we're after a rip-roaring start so far.
Start hardening up your life.
Start hardening up your life.
Okay?
You see all the data that I just read here.
It's all bad.
It's all bad.
Data is all bad.
All the data is saying that you know worldwide globally we're in
a recession the mainstream media is telling you that everything is everything is under control
right there is that meme out there right that you know just before the zombie apocalypse in
every zombie apocalypse movie right just before the before the world goes, you know, before the brown stuff hits the fan, right?
You know, the scientists, they all come out and they tell the public, you know, everything is fine.
Everything is under control.
And that's what we're seeing now.
We're seeing all the talking heads, all the powers that be are telling
everyone, nothing to see here, folks. Everything is under control. Believe that at your peril.
Harden up your life, okay? Diversify your assets. Do whatever you need to do. When people look at what you're doing
and say, hey, you know, why are you overreacting like this? You know, you know, you know, why are
you why are you putting so much food aside? Why are you learning about gardening? Why are you,
you know, storing, you know, extra gasoline and a little bit of extra propane.
And why are you buying a hybrid instead of an electric car?
Right. Why are you doing all of these things?
You say it is because I want to become a little bit more resilient. Right.
And a lot of folks are not going to follow your lead and they're going to trust their phone.
They're going to trust the mainstream media.
Okay?
I'm running out of time and I think that within my next podcast, right,
there was this one,
there were some articles that showed how they were,
how CNN and NBC were censoring Trump's speech.
And they were wondering why.
They were like, well, we're all about the truth and everything else.
But that's censoring.
Them telling you what they believe is the truth, that's censoring.
Them telling you what they believe is the truth, that's censoring.
They should be brave enough to show everything and let the public decide.
They call themselves gatekeepers, and that's the most troubling thing about the whole thing.
They say that they're gatekeepers of the truth.
And it's like, why not just then say that you're just for the Democratic Party?
We'll just come out and just say, right?
That's way more honest.
And then people can decide whether or not they want to watch the network.
They're already deciding if they want to watch the network or not.
But that's what's going on out there, right? And they're shocked.
You know, they're calling on like YouTube and all these online platforms, right?
To start censoring the people who are speaking out about climate change.
So I'm going to deal with all of that in another podcast because I don't want to drag this podcast out.
You know, we covered a lot of the economic data, which was really good for us here, right?
And let's see,
and yeah, you know, the whole thing about all those cars, right, the electric cars, right,
the article with all those electric cars that couldn't start, and you know, especially up there in Chicago, they were like, yeah, it's a graveyard, all of these cars are trying to charge and they just cannot get charged.
Right? You reap what you sow. You reap what you sow. Right? You make stupid decisions,
you know, then you reap what you sow. Right? And that's what's going on with a lot of, you know,
with people are seeing the consequences of a lot of these crazy decisions that are that folks are making.
Right.
If you're listening to my voice right now, your goal is to make sure that your life is as resilient as you can make it.
And economically, right.
Things are not looking good right now economically.
OK, it's going to be a rough year economically uh we are we saw all those banks implode last year um you know it's going to be interesting
to see if that trend continues and if we get into these wars if the middle east gets worse and and
you know that effect like oil prices and if the ukraine war spreads or gets worse
because you know nato right now because you know ukraine is losing right and nato actually wants
you know because they can't admit that they're losing and this is something that they they they
cannot lose that that war in ukraine they they cannot just acknowledge that, you know what, maybe we need to save lives here and
just get to the table here with the Russians and just try and talk this out so that more people
doesn't get killed. That's not on their agenda, right? Because they've lied to the public. And
when you lie to the public, what do you do? You double down on the lie and they're going to double
down on the lie, right? And if if that conflict gets bigger i really believe that
we are in a position where we could see a real continental global conflict
erupt at some point here pretty soon right we've been calling the whole taiwan and and if and if
and if the chinese decide that they want to go in and take Taiwan, there's so
many little things that will trigger, really trigger
a complete
economic collapse, a global economic collapse.
All
the markers are there.
All the warning signs, the red flags are there.
And it's just for one of these things
to just kind of spiral a little bit
and then you have that, you know,
issue with the economy tanking
and then we're all up the creek
and we're all dealing with you know the
the fallout right and of course it's going to be us the poor people that's going to be dealing with
the fallout if the economy crashes so make your life more resilient that's my warning to you right
now the economy is not in great shape it's in way worse shape than most people even fathom or realize.
Try to make sure that your life is a little bit more resilient beginning today if you haven't been doing it.
Okay.
All right.
So that's where I'm going to end it.
All right. I hope you got something from this podcast. All right. So that's where I'm going to end it. All right. I hope you got something from
this podcast. All right. You know, I really wanted to talk a little bit about the whole climate
change thing and the controlling of the media thing. All right. But you know what, I'll save
that for another 40 minute podcast instead of trying to drag this one out. I think that it's really clear that, you know,
if you look at the data,
and we've looked at the data in this podcast,
and all the data, the data is not good.
The data, economic data is not good.
We are in a recession that no one wants to acknowledge,
that the powers that be, they don't want to acknowledge.
And, you know, be smart.
You know, make your life more resilient okay um you know have that have some have that other job probably in that in your back pocket
that if you were to lose your job and if you know that your job will be impacted if you can be
easily replaced by some machine that you really need to look into making a change in your life.
And this is just not for us here in America. This is globally.
You know, PBN is a global network at this point, right?
