The Prepping for Tomorrow program with Bobby a Cart.
live on Prepper Broadcasting.
Well, hello and good evening, everybody, on this fine Thursday, September 15th, 2016.
My name is Bobby Aikard, and I'd like to welcome you guys to the Prepping for Tomorrow program,
which is presented by Freedom Preppers in conjunction with the Prepper Broadcasting Network
and the American Preppers Network.
Again, my name is Bobby Aikard, and we're on PrepperBroadcasting.com, but for those of you,
who are over on Blog Talk Radio listening this evening,
we invite you to join us here where you can listen to the program,
chat in our interactive chat room, and also call in.
And for those of you who are interested in calling us tonight
and weighing in on what we're going to talk about,
our telephone number is 347-202-228.
Again, that's 347, 202-2-228.
and once the blog talk radio recording answers for you,
simply press one to enter, and you'll be in the host queue,
and our producer, G. Man, will get you on air with me,
and we'll talk about tonight's topic, which is choose freedom.
And I just, it's like a number of events have come together,
you know, how the stars align and all of those silly things.
But the topic of choose freedom for tonight,
is appropriate in so many different ways. And I can't wait to talk about it with you guys,
both from a national, political, historical level, but also from a personal level. And as
always, I bring everything as it relates to prepping, and tonight will be no different. But first,
a little bit of housekeeping, I want to thank everybody for indulging me while I took a couple of
weeks off the first two Thursdays of this month. I'd love to report to you guys that I had
had my toes stuck in the sand somewhere, sucking down a margarita or a corona, but that really
wasn't true. I was writing, as always. I just had some other business that needed taking care
of, and I just found myself that I just needed all the time I could muster to make sure
things got straightened out proper. And also, I've been immersed in writing Turning Point,
which is book three in the blackout series that's coming along nicely. I think you're going to
like this. And for those of you who aren't familiar with the blackout series, I took a very
interesting approach to this. It's unlike many others. I devoted an entire first book in the series
to the pre-collapse of America. I'm not going to give any spoilers here, but the entire book,
36 hours, is devoted for the period of time prior to the collapse event. And then the second book,
Zero Hour, deals specifically with how our characters.
the Reimann family, copes with the initial hours, days, and weeks following the collapse.
But then Book 3 Turning Point is very much dedicated to the concept of bugging out.
And I have found over the years that people ask about bug out locations
and the process of bugging out as much as any other topic.
And I put the Reimans in a situation where they're bugging out,
and they have to face pretty much everything you guys could imagine.
And I put them in a realistic situation, and I give them the ability to make it through.
And that book, I think, is fantastic.
It's scheduled for release, I believe October 23rd, but as has been the case lately,
my book seemed to be getting completed early on time or early and on budget or below budget, as they say.
And that book may be released early as well.
And then speaking of book releases, of course, I can't not talk about tomorrow.
Choose Freedom, which is book six in the Boston Brahman series, goes live sometime after midnight tonight on Amazon.
The paperback version is already available, but it's kind of a bittersweet day for me.
I've loved the Boston Brahman series.
It's been such a big part of my life for the last 18 months.
and Choose Freedom, which is book six, brings a series to a close.
When it gets delivered to Kindle devices around the world, that will be the last installment.
But it has a stunning conclusion, and the folks who have been fortunate enough to read the advanced copies,
have given me tremendous feedback, and they're very happy with the way things went at the end,
and so I know you'll like it as well.
So tonight's program entitled Choose Freedom is more than,
just about the book. It's going to be about my thoughts on the concept of freedom.
But the last thing I want to mention, I've produced a commemorative edition of the Choose
Freedom novel in paperback called The Patriot Edition.
And so in addition to my doing a treatise and a thesis a little bit on the impact of the American
Revolution on our country, I also provided in the paperback a complete text of the Declaration
of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the Bill of Rights with their amendments.
And I can imagine that many of you do not have copies of those at home and print.
You know you can access it on the Internet.
But if there's ever a time that we experience a grid-down scenario, there's nothing better
to remind us of why America is great than to go back and read our founding documents.
So I decided to put those as part of the appendices to Choose Freedom, Patriot Edition, which is on sale now.
However, if you'd like a signed, personalized copy of Choose Freedom for only $11 plus shipping, all you have to do is email me at Acart Books, that's A-K-A-R-T-B-O-O-K-S at g-mail.com.
Tell me how many copies you'd need, where you want them sent.
We'll get those ready for you guys and send you a PayPal invoice for $11 plus actual shipping
and get those copies out to everyone next week or so.
So you can have a copy of Choose Freedom for yourselves or give them as a gift to a friend.
Okay, so enough of that.
Here's what I want to talk about tonight, and I really, again, encourage everyone to call and weigh in
because freedom means something different to all of us.
And we all have our own experiences in life, and we've all have certain aspects of American history or today's political situation that's unique to us.
So I want you to consider calling in and discussing it with me.
So I'm going to give the phone number one more time.
It's area code 347-20202028.
And please call in and talk about what freedom means to you.
and I'll tell you a little bit about what it means to me.
And it's just not something that I talk about in the context of our founding,
but it also, again, relates to our everyday lives,
and it's also an integral part of prepping.
If you've read the Boston Brahmin series,
you know that Choose Freedom as a phrase became a call to action,
and eventually as the books progressed,
a whole movement was created behind the concept of choosing freedom.
Henry Sargent, that's known as Sarge in my books,
discussed the fact that today in America,
or at least in fictional America for the Boston Brahmin series,
we have a choice between tyranny and freedom.
Tyranny is the tyranny of government that basically rules your lives,
a government, and it's the politicians who run it,
that think they know better for you than you know for yourself.
And in the interest of creating a one-size-fits-all solution to many of the nation's problems,
they end up taking away the freedoms that we are used to enjoying
in order to take care of those who are unable to take care of themselves
or unwilling to adapt a self-reliant freedom-style lifestyle.
And that's a shame because that's not why.
I think our founding fathers intended.
I mean, if you look back to the beginning,
Americans and colonists, the early Americans,
fought for our freedoms, risking everything
to go against a much greater, larger, polished army
in the form of the British.
They were willing to do whatever it takes
and risk their lives in order to fight
for what they thought was right.
And what they thought was right
was a representative government, but more than anything, a government that didn't become a burden
on their daily lives. And so after the Revolutionary War, for several years, they hammered out
these founding documents, some of the ones that I mentioned earlier. The Bill of Rights, of course,
made amendments to the Constitution that were adopted, and there's a procedure that they set forth
there, but it's seriously one of the greatest founding documents, if not the greatest, in the
history of the world. And unfortunately, many of us believe that our Constitution is under
attack in the name of political correctness, in the name of correcting wrongs that were done to folks
in the past. I mean, there's a whole litany of excuses to modify the Constitution through the courts
rather than following the process that we've been provided in the Constitution
and doing it through our Congress and the President.
But every four years we have an election cycle,
and right now we're in the middle of one of those.
Typically, most Americans don't vote.
You might find that hard to believe,
but despite the fact we have congressional elections every two years,
a lot of people really show no interest in politics
until it's time to vote for president.
This year, if you turn on the news, I rarely see any substance coming from the media in the newscast as to what the candidate's positions are, although I know them pretty well myself.
But I rarely see any substance.
I see mudslinging and discussions about medical records and tax records and all of the things that really shouldn't matter in a presidential election.
but amazingly, they seem to come to the forefront.
But I've established a litmus test of my own
for which president I think would be the best choice.
First and foremost, I want a president that's going to make decisions
that's in the best interest of the United States.
If you make a decision that says, well, the world would be better off
or the United Nations would be better off,
simple things like seeding control of the internet to someone outside of this country.
Why is that in the best interest of the United States to give away control of the internet?
When now you have other countries who may not like us very much,
they now have one more tool with which to bring us down.
You know, why does it make sense to pay $150 billion for four hostages to Iran,
a country that tries to stick a needle in our eye every single day by sending their Navy vessels after our destroyers.
So any time a decision is made at the presidential level or the highest levels of government,
if that decision is made that does not benefit the United States,
then it shouldn't happen the way that they're doing it.
And I've seen that now for so many years.
I want a president that says America first.
Now, there are a lot of countries that have issue with that.
There are a lot of people in this country who take issue with that statement.
But we're Americans first.
We need to protect our own.
And if you don't like it, go somewhere else, in my opinion.
Now, the second litmus test for our highest office holders all the way up to the president is,
does the decision that you're about to make take away our individual freedoms?
Are you passing a law or writing an executive order, or is this agency issuing a regulation that takes away the basic freedoms that we have earned, and our forefathers have earned through blood and sweat and hard work and effort over 250 years?
And if it does take away an individual freedom, it simply shouldn't be passed.
So those are my litmus test as to who I would vote for on any level from the bottom all the way to the top.
And then, of course, the third thing, and this is unfortunate for someone like myself who is an avowed libertarian,
I would clearly vote for a libertarian, maybe even Gary Johnson, if I thought they could win.
The problem is that I don't believe Gary Johnson has a chance to win.
So now what happens?
Those out there who are followers of Glenn Beck, for example,
who are wanting to protest the Republican candidate Donald Trump
by voting for Gary Johnson, and they talk about voting on principle,
I'm sorry, but in my opinion, that's wasting a vote.
And what you're doing is, in essence,
giving Hillary Clinton a path to the presidency.
It's one thing to support a libertarian candidate.
I'm 100% for that.
but it's totally another thing to support them and vote for them, which is basically a waste
when the person doesn't have a chance to win.
I've been in Trump's court from the beginning.
A lot of people have issue with him.
I've seen it on Facebook.
I've seen it on Twitter.
I've stayed out of the fray because I love all of my friends on social media for the most part,
and I'm not interested in arguing with them about who Donald Trump is or isn't or what they think.
At this point, he is now our candidate, and I think he has a great chance of winning, and just think of the alternative.
By not voting or voting for someone who can't win, what you're doing is you're sending Hillary Clinton, or more likely than not, Tim Kane or vice president, because I don't think she'll be able to medically survive the first term.
you're sending a Democrat that's just going to be four more or eight more years of Barack Obama,
and I don't think I can handle that.
I may have to threaten like Alec Baldwin and to move to Canada or some crazy place.
I'm just kidding.
But, you know, she fails a litmus test as far as I'm concerned on every level.
And I think that there's a silent majority of people out there like myself
who typically don't speak out on political issues.
and are starting to find their voice.
Unfortunately, it does create a pretty raucous exchange from time to time on Twitter and Facebook and other places.
But that's part of the process.
And don't engage in political discussion if you're not prepared to argue your position.
And everybody knows my position.
If you've read my books, you know where I stand.
Ironically, I tried to tone down the political angle a little bit in the blackout series,
and I still get liberals giving me one star,
beating me over the head because I'm too political.
And I really find that hilarious because I try to go in there
and see what they're talking about,
and my comment might be so subtle,
but they're looking for an issue.
And people who have chips on their shoulder
will always look for something that they presume
to be directed at them personally.
And I've gotten some bad reviews to that effect,
but I really don't care because I believe what I believe,
I think my books are pretty straightforward.
And everything I ever say from a political standpoint, I always provide real-life examples
and a basis in law for those or the Constitution.
And martial law being a great example.
If you haven't read it yet, without giving you spoilers,
the final part of martial law is the actual declaration announced by the president.
And every bit of that declaration of martial law was based in fact.
It's based in what is available to him under the law.
It could happen any day, given the right circumstances.
And it's really frightening, and it scared me when I did the research and wrote that final part of martial law
because I realized the power of the president over our daily lives in a catastrophic situation
or one perceived to be catastrophic.
And so just keep that in mind as you go through your daily lives that you never,
know when something is going to broadside you like a presidential directive that could turn our
lives upside down. Now, let me touch on one other thing as we keep going through these freedom
concepts. And I know a lot of you have picked this up in the news. For a couple of years now,
the Black Lives Matter movement has been in the forefront of the news whenever there's an opportunity.
I understand freedom of speech, and I understand people have a right to protest. It's not
ingrained in me, and I don't think it's ingrained in most conservative or libertarian Americans.
We have families. We take care of our families. We go to work. We go to church. We pay our bills.
We try to live right. We don't have time to go lay down in the middle of the interstate and block traffic
and wave a bunch of signs around. But there are people out there who do have that time. And so many
times it's the one who squeaks the wheel that squeaks the loudest that gets the grease.
just like one child in a classroom who acts out gets all the attention.
Well, the people who have the time to protest and exercise their freedom of opinion and expression are the ones who get the attention.
And, you know, you have the Black Lives Matter movement, and most recently now we have sports figures making multi-million dollar contracts every year.
People that little kids look up to as idols and they buy their jerseys and they pretend that,
they're this quarterback or that running back.
And there's 48 players standing on that sideline in San Francisco for the 49ers,
and they're all standing there during the in reverence for the national anthem and for what our flag stands for.
And one ass clown kneels down in its headline news for days upon the end because he's exercising his right of freedom of expression.
Why didn't they talk about the 47 football players who did the right thing and stood up for their flag and stood up for their country?
This is the kind of thing that I don't understand, and it's clearly media-driven.
When it all boils down to it, I think most listeners will agree that the media drives dictates the narrative in this country.
but a guy like that, if he were on my football team, would have been fired.
He would have made me much madder than somebody who might have made a snide comment
or a poorly conceived joke that offended a certain class of people.
Because you're disrespecting our flag and the men and women who fought in the Revolutionary War
and who fight daily to protect our country, and there's no excuse.
And now because he got attention, guess what?
Every team on every Sunday now has one or two who want to raise a fist in the air or kneel down or sit on the bench.
Now you've got kids who are refusing to say the Pledge of Allegiance in their schools.
Heck, you probably have some schools that don't even say the Pledge of Allegiance anymore for fear of offending.
And this is how bad our country is out of whack.
This is how bad the freedoms that our founding fathers fought so hard for and created for us are being taken away.
And it's time to say no.
And I think that this presidential election gives us the opportunity to send a clear message.
For the last two years and then four years before that, Republican leaders have said, vote for us, give us the House, give us the Senate.
we'll go to Washington and clean this up.
And I don't know about you guys, but from my perspective,
I don't see that there's anything changed up there.
Gridlock has been created, and normally gridlock is a good thing, in my opinion.
They could all go to Washington every day and do nothing and then go home on vacation 300 days a year,
and I'd be thrilled.
Just go do nothing or repeal laws or something like that.
What we need in order to write the course of this country is someone in charge.
of the White House, in addition to holding both houses of Congress, and who's not afraid or shy
or worried about politics or optics who will just go in there and clean house. And that's why I think
Donald Trump's the guy. It's all the politics. I'm going to talk from that perspective
tonight because, you know, I think a lot of you guys may agree with me. I know there are a lot of
Gary Johnson fans out there and people who believe in the libertarian point of view, as do I.
I just don't think he has a chance to win.
I look at the polls now.
They're starting to turn in Trump's favor even more so,
but yet I still see Gary Johnson pulling 8 to 10 percent,
and I might get him on the debate stage.
Time will tell on that.
But in terms of when it comes time to cast that vote,
vote for the person who will win,
and don't vote for a person who's going to drag Hillary down into the White House
because of a protest vote. So let's look at this entire picture as it relates to us personally,
because, you know, as a country, we enjoy freedoms. They are gradually slipping away,
but those things can be fixed by whoever's elected to the White House and also whoever is voted in as your congressman and senator.
These people should all pass that litmus test I was talking about. But the one thing,
that we can all do on a personal level is to create a life of freedom for yourself and your family.
And I have a saying that true freedom can only be achieved when you're beholden to no one else.
You're a slave to nothing. You're not a slave to your job or your house or your car payments or, you know, other people, for example.
I always talk about prepping in regards to what's the best thing for you to do to get prepared.
And one of the big issues I've always said is you should move to your bugout location now.
If you really believe that we could face a catastrophic event and you think that your safety is at risk,
then I suggest people find a bug out location and move there.
But the biggest reasons people don't is they have a job in the state,
city. They have a house in the city that they like. They love the schools their kids go to. They
want to be able to keep that job so they can make the car payments. The list is long, and you guys
all know what I'm talking about. But if you're really committed to preparedness, then you have to
make sacrifices. You have to consider taking a lower paying job. But if you live in the country,
it may not cost you as much to live. Your house payments may be less. Your car payments. Your car
payments may be the same, but you know, you can afford them then. The schools may be different,
but your kids will adapt. If you remain in position of weakness or in a position where you could
be overrun in the event of a catastrophic event because you won't give up the job or the house
or the car payments or the schools, et cetera, then you're not really free. You've become a slave to
these things, these things that I just described. The best way to be free is to be out of debt.
That's number one, because then if you hate your job, you can tell the boss to shove it,
and you could go get another job without fear of losing your home or your cars. You know,
if your house is paid for, you don't have to work as hard. There's so many aspects of freedom
that's more than just what the Constitution and our government allows.
Freedom involves not answering to anybody that you don't want to answer to.
If you have an abusive spouse who is treating you poorly, physically or mentally,
if you're tied to that spouse because you don't think you can afford to live on your own or make a move,
then you're not really free.
You're a slave to that abusive spouse.
If you have a boss that mistreats you, maybe he makes all types of different,
sexual innuendos to a female employee or makes you work overtime and doesn't pay you.
But you're afraid to leave that job because you have all of these payments to make,
then you're not really free.
All of a sudden, you're a slave to that job, and you don't have the ability to make decisions
on your own.
The key is to, in my opinion, is to point your life in a direction that eliminates the control
of others over you, whether it be on a personal,
level like a spouse or a friend or a family member or someone that you associate with or whether
it's on a financial level as it relates to, you know, again, job, house, car. Think of these things
in your daily life. Think of the things that aggravate you and what you wish you could do to avoid
that aggravation and think, what do I need to do to eliminate this from my life so I can be
truly free. And that's what freedom's all about to me is being behold.
holding to no one. If I have someone who I want to cut as a cancer out of my life,
then I want to be able to do that without fear of repercussions or some type of financial
ramifications or whatever. And when I've achieved that, then I'm free. That's me. That's
the way I look at things on a personal level. And then we'll talk about the next half hour.
We'll talk about how all of this relates to each of us on a prepper level.
And I also want to take your phone calls now, 347, 202, 0228.
And when we come back on the other side of this break, Josh will be first up.
Welcome back, everybody, to the Prepping for Tomorrow program.
I'm a little off kilter here because I'm giving shoutouts and highs in the chat room.
You know, I took a couple of weeks off, so I find myself just a little.
little bit off balance with the program here. So bear with me as we move forward. Just a reminder
to everyone in just a few short hours, Choose Freedom, Book 6 in the Boston Brahmin series, will be
available on Amazon. It'll be delivered to your Kindles. Feel free if you'd like to run over to
Amazon afterwards, and you can pre-order the book. It'll be delivered sometime after midnight,
or you can go tomorrow and buy it.
And I hope if all of you guys get a chance,
if you don't mind leaving a review for that book and any others you may have read for me,
I never really get a chance to adequately explain what the reviews do.
But Amazon is a massive computerized operation, as you guys can imagine.
and they introduce my books and my series to other potential readers based upon a number of factors.
And one of those factors are the number of reviews and the quality of the reviews that I get.
I know sometimes it takes time to go back to Amazon and weigh in on what you thought.
But it's not only important for me as a writer to learn from what you guys think,
but it's also important because Amazon sees a book's popularity and value based upon, in part, what those reviews are.
And so if you guys do get a chance after you've had a chance to read Choose Freedom,
let everybody on Amazon know what you think.
And also, as many of the people in the chat room know, I'd love to talk with readers and get their input and ideas.
And so anytime, if you want to come on Facebook and send me a friend request, please do that.
Or you can email me at Bobby Acart at gmail.com, and I'll be glad to chat with you about the books
and hear what you have to think.
So it's something I enjoy doing anyway, and I learn from that so that I make my next books even better,
because I love to write, as everybody knows.
So anyway, back to the concept of choosing.
Freedom. We have somebody on the line with us now. Josh, are you there?
How you're doing night, Bobbing?
Well, I'm doing really well, Josh, and I'm sorry about what our Tennessee Vols did to you guys
on Saturday night over there in Bristol, but it was a good game there for a while.
Well, what can I say? When the other line don't show up, the game ain't going to be there.
By the way, I don't know if you checked your mailbox today, but according to the
tracking number, but your package should be there.
Actually, I will be going out
tomorrow, so I'll check it, and I appreciate
that. Josh was nice enough. He went
to the game in Bristol between
Virginia Tech and Tennessee, and he
bought me the commemorative program
for that special event. It's the largest
football crowd in
college football history.
Must have been a heck of a scene up there, right?
Oh, Lord.
If you've been
tag on hold's almost
$70,000, and to go up
there to that, that was a different animal all together.
Well, to put in perspective, they had a 50-50 raffle,
and half of the 50-50 was $80,000 to put that into perspective.
Wow. That's unbelievable.
So here's a question for you, Josh, before we get started,
and then we'll get some more callers in here.
So now imagine you're in that football stadium, and the light goes out from an EMP.
what do you think the chaos is going to look like with 160,000 headed for the exits?
Not good.
It's half of them a drunk as heck.
I can imagine.
Maybe that's something that I should write about.
So what do you think about Choose Freedom?
Josh, what's your opinion on and take on the whole concept?
The Choose Freedom, two items that stuck from the first half hour,
were you talking about the protest
where football players are kneeling
and I was reading an article out of
North Virginia this week
they said a local high school team down there
the whole team kneeled
now
this is my personal opinion
as you said in news and slanted
where was the mothers
these football players to come out there
like the one in
Baltimore last year
why didn't they come out and make a scene like she did?
I know it. I mean, it just seems like the world's upside down, doesn't it?
I mean, nothing really makes sense as it should,
and I just feel like that people have lost sight of what our country went through to become great,
and we've taken it for granted, and now we're gradually letting it slip away from us.
I mean, I'm fortunate enough to have two blue collar parents and all my mother,
she works as a radiologist and
she's having to basically hold herself together with
bail line duct tape her knees giving her trouble
my dad he he's holding down a family business
and I'll try to keep it going because my grandfather used to having health issues
and I'll he's trying to keep family business going for everybody else
and everybody gives him
gives anything
and then another point
you're talking about financials
my church we went through
I don't know if you've ever heard of it
it's called Financial Peace and all
financial peace university
I mean
it touches the point every point
you said is save the money
get money ahead
and cash is king
as the saying does
it does it takes some sacrifice
and Josh is talking about
Dave Ramsey, who comes on usually in the mornings.
His show is actually, Josh, you probably know this, is broadcast out of Nashville.
But, you know, Dave Ramsey talks about looking at your overall picture and saying, all right,
how can I get out of debt?
And rule number one, as everyone knows, is you stop the bleeding, just like our immigration problem.
The problem we have with the poorest border is that these people keep rolling across the border.
So what is the solution?
Well, one candidate says build a wall.
You have to stop the bleeding.
So once that happens in your financial life, then you can start to whittle away at all of these bills that are nipping at your heels that are preventing you from being truly free.
And Dave Ramsey is a big – in the Financial Peace University is a big advocate of that.
So I'm glad you brought that up.
We're friends for, Bobby.
I mean, as Dave Ramsey says, it only takes one life-awatern event to derail your life,
be it a medical emergency or a loss of a job.
You've got to have that rainy day fund in place and be cash ahead,
because, like I said, one wrong, wrong step, and that's it.
Yep, but that's all it takes.
and people don't really, I don't think people consider the fact that they're living on the edge like that.
And that leads me a little bit to the topic of prepping as it relates to all of this.
And let me mention that real quick, Josh, and then I'm going to move on because we have another caller, okay?
But thank you for calling, Josh.
I appreciate it.
And let me just mention about prepping.
Prepping is not just for catastrophic events.
prepping is also for those unforeseen events, whether it be a weather disaster, or it could be a loss of a job or an illness which is causing you problems.
So when you are stockpiling food and medical supplies and things, if you have six months of food supplies and for some reason you lose your job, you know you're not going to go hungry.
So prepping is for more than just preparation of a catastrophic collapse event.
It's also for those unforeseen circumstances like a loss of a job or a family illness.
So very good point, Josh.
Great call.
Thanks for calling in.
I think we have Tracy on the line as well.
Tracy, how are you?
I'm doing fine.
How are you tonight, Bobby?
Doing great.
Choose freedom, my friend.
And you as well.
I just wanted to publicly comment that I feel you are one of the great authors of our time.
I thoroughly enjoy every word of every book, and I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of
Choose Freedom Tomorrow from Amazon since the alternative means offered to me for pre-read
never did work for me.
And I assume that you know this is Edith Joe's, by the way.
Oh, of course, absolutely.
Well, and listen, I appreciate your kind words.
You know, I undertook this venture of writing over a year and a half ago with the Boston Brahmin series,
and not really sure where it would take me and what it would do.
But here's the thing, and again, it's relates to this freedom concept.
We were financially capable for me to devote full-time to the process of writing.
And so by virtue of the fact that we did not have an extensive overhead hanging over us,
I was able to free up my time so that I could write books and had, you know, some early success.
And then, of course, I feel like I'm doing pretty good now after putting 13 books on the shelf.
And, you know, you've been a big part of helping me with that.
You've been a great supporter of mine as of many of you folks who are here in the chat room with me.
And I appreciate that like you have no idea.
But what that's enabled me to do is to kind of tell people a little bit.
bit about what I think in the form of a book of fiction. And I try not to be blatant with my
politics, but what I try to do is let people know a little bit about what I believe.
Frankly, Dracey, and you probably know this. If I were going to pick a presidential candidate,
it would be myself. But, you know, you can't, I'm not going to run for office, nor would I want
the aggravation. So I have to find a candidate that thinks the most like I do, and that's what
I try to do every election cycle. But listen, I truly appreciate everything that you do for me
and hang in there, and you and I both understand what choose freedom means for you and I.
I do appreciate that. And my other concern is, as I've mentioned to you previously on private
message on Facebook.
I'm very concerned
about prepping
in place.
I am a prime target
here living in an apartment
in Central Phoenix, which
is the sixth largest city and
the country.
I would be a prime target for
leaders.
Well, and we
have talked about that. And you know, you're
similarly situated to a lot of listeners
that you live in the city, you
have your job. You don't really have the amount of property or the space to have an extensive
amount of preps. But you've got two things going for you that 95% of the rest of the people
around you don't have. Number one, you believe the threats are real. You've read the books,
you've studied, you're online. I know that the threats of EMP and pandemic and solar flares
and the list goes on that the threats are real, so you pay attention to the news.
And then the second thing is by recognizing that the threats are real,
you're constantly aware of the media and what's going on
and the warning signs to look for.
So that no matter what, you'll at least be the first one out of Phoenix.
I don't know if you have a thought of where you might go.
That may be something to consider, family or friends, or some type of,
of alternative area that's not quite as populated.
But the thing is, is that I don't believe you'll waste any time.
And it's a funny thing, Tracy, you don't realize this.
When I was riding, and Mary Rourke, who's in here tonight, this is directed at you as well, Mary,
when I was riding 36 hours, you know, Danny and I are preppers, and everybody knows that.
But when I was riding 36 hours, I had to try and envision what people would be thinking or doing
who lived in a major city who weren't preppers or maybe only marginally prepared.
And you guys kind of gave me some inspiration to think of, you know, you two both have evolved,
as I've come to know you over the last year, you two have evolved into understanding what the threats are
and to be aware that you may have to act quickly.
And so I put the Ryman family kind of in the same shoes where they were aware that there was a threat,
But then at some moment, a seminal moment, they decided, hey, I've got to act.
And I feel confident that you and others will do the same thing who study this program or listen to this program.
I do appreciate your confidence in me, and all the help is you've given me through your books and in person.
And in closing, I just want to say I would vote for you as president as well.
however I would prefer to vote for Trump and keep you writing your magnificent novels.
Amen to that. I'll take it. Thank you very much, Tracy. I really appreciate you calling in, and I'll see you on Facebook.
All right.
All right. Thank you. I think we have another caller. Is this my Leslie?
It sure enough is.
Are you still off in the hinterland somewhere?
Right now we are in Pennsylvania.
Well, say hello to the Amish for me.
Oh, actually, we haven't seen any yet.
What I wanted to call about, first of all, is congrats on your book coming out tomorrow.
Thank you.
Yes, and hi, Danny.
And number two is I haven't been able to listen to your show.
We're like in the middle of nowhere.
Mark Hill, why don't you just call in?
I said, okay.
But what I wanted to say, when we were in D.C., yeah, hi, Mark.
We've been in D.C. for like the last four days, and one of the things we did, and I highly recommend it, is went to the National Holocaust Museum, which is out by the Smithsonian.
Absolutely fantastic place.
And walking through there, you walk in the doors, and you just immediately feel the oppression almost instantly.
And as Mark and I are walking, you know, through all the different aspects of that whole German history, pre-Hitler,
you know, to the Hitler days, and then of course one whole floor is all about the extermination
camps. And we see the photographs as Auschwitz. You see the mock-ups of the gas chambers
and the people dying and the photographs of all the emaciated people, the oppression
of the government. And at the end of it, all I can think about is our wonderful country
and all the stuff that has been happening to it.
And, of course, and you relate it to your books,
and, of course, other books I've read,
the authors you've had on your show,
and you just want to cry sometimes.
And people in this world in the United States,
they need to choose freedom.
There's no reason for anything like this to ever happen again.
And it was just, I thought of you.
When I walked out, I thought, thank goodness,
for authors like you that open every people's eyes,
maybe that haven't been able to see what could happen.
Well, and I appreciate that.
I don't know if I can't recall when you guys were here at the house,
if we discussed the fact that my mother was German.
She passed away several years ago.
Right.
Yeah, she was born and raised in Berlin, lived there during the run-up to World War II
when Hitler came to power and also throughout the entire war.
And she's, we did.
Absolutely.
She saw firsthand what was going on as the Nazis rose to power.
And she instilled in me as a child how lucky we were to be Americans.
I mean, my mom came to this country.
She married my dad in ceremony in Berlin.
My dad was in the Air Force.
She went through the entire immigration process, followed the rules, studied,
passed the test, and she was so proud of what she had done, and it made her appreciate America
more so than the people who are showing up across our borders as if they're entitled to be here.
And she has told me the stories of growing up as a girl and how she had to fear the Russians
as well as the German SS and the problems of Jewish friends disappearing in the night.
It's really frightening.
Hopefully we will not allow that sort of thing to happen again.
But what you have to realize is that you have leaders rise to power, as Hitler did,
who is popular in many respects, but then he uses that power to take away the rights and freedoms of the people under him.
And I see that happening now.
And I try to – I try to write about it.
try to be subtle about it so that people can get the point.
And hopefully they will, and maybe the things will change in this country.
I'm hoping so.
People just need to realize that freedom is something that you earn,
that you aren't born with freedom.
Right.
And you have to work for it day in and day out constantly.
And learn to appreciate.
Learn to, I don't know, I got very emotional.
It was quite an experience, as I can say.
Anyway, I'll let you go.
I know it's getting closer to the hour for you.
And anyway, you know how much I love you guys,
and I just want to let me know that we were thinking of you.
Well, we love and appreciate you all, too.
We hope you're safe.
I guess you're heading back now if you're passing through Pennsylvania.
Sunday.
Yeah, we will be.
We're going to Gettysburg, I think, tomorrow,
and toward Gettysburg, and then head home Sunday.
Well, we had Josh on the line earlier. He's a real Civil War buff, so he'll appreciate the fact that you're hitting Gettysburg.
You know, Leslie, because you've been with me now since the beginning, really.
I try to intertwine the very beginning.
You know, I try to intertwine history into all of my books because I try to teach people as well as entertain.
and, you know, there are so many great events in this country that have shaped the way this country is,
and Gettysburg was actually one of those.
But the Holocaust, although it didn't happen in America, it should be a constant reminder to Americans
of how things can turn very ugly if you don't keep an overreaching government intact.
And so that's what happened in Germany, a great country,
became a terrible place to live with horrific things occurring, all because they allowed
a government to get out of control, and that's what's happening here, I'm afraid.
That's what scares me to death because I'm glad people like you are writing your stories.
Well, anyway, I will let you go and give my love to Danny and the girls, and I know I will be
talking to you doing again.
Yep. Tomorrow it's Tuesday's Freedom Day.
It definitely is
All right, thank you, Leslie.
Be safe.
Thank you.
Good night.
All right.
See, Leslie's point is very good.
And maybe sometimes it should be required that we all go to Washington, D.C.,
and look at the buildings, not just for the fact that they house a bunch of federal bureaucrats,
but try to look at it from the perspective of what do these buildings mean?
how do they come about what are their founding fathers intend for this city to be and what their job is to be.
And initially, our government was designed primarily to resolve disputes between the states and to protect our national borders.
But over time, as the populations grew and politicians sought more power, they started a centralized power in Washington.
And it's totally contrary to what was intended.
And so now the federal government uses a very simple, frankly, carrot and stick approach to its control over state governments.
And one of the things the government does is it says, we'll give you federal dollars for all of your pet projects,
but you have to adopt our way of looking at things.
And so now you have states like North Carolina with, I forgot what they call them, you know, bathrooms,
co-gender bathrooms, which, you know, listen, that happens in Europe all the time.
But it should be up to the states to determine if that's what they want to do.
And what's happening in our country is it's a very top-heavy approach.
The federal government is now dictating to people below it as to how they should act.
And that's not what our founding fathers intended.
So the only thing we can do is American citizens is, number one, be silent no more,
exercise your right to vote, try your best to have others see it your way,
but I will warn you that the best thing you can do is be very informed on the subject matter
because if you get in a reasonable debate with someone who you're trying to convince to vote or think your way,
you need to be prepared to back up your arguments.
And so that's where research and studying and paying attention makes sense, you know, reading good books, learning from those books so you can advance those arguments.
And I think you'll find that you'll have an easier time convincing people to consider changing their vote.
And I see that happening.
I see Donald Trump going into the inner city of Detroit and saying to black voters, look at your conditions.
Your city has been run by liberal Democrats for 50 or 60 years.
Are you better off?
What are they doing for you?
And why don't you just try just this one time?
Let's try something different.
Try it my way and give it a shot.
And that message is resonating among the black community.
And I think that folks will be very shocked at the results of this upcoming election,
provided there's no some kind of media-generated doctorate.
October surprise, but we'll see. But in any event, freedom, again, you guys, just make sure that in
everything you do, every decision you make in your personal lives, does the decision you
make give you more freedom or less freedom, financially, personally, et cetera? And then when it
comes to prepping, true freedom and self-reliance.
If you can, to be a prepper, you have to be totally self-reliant, and that's the
bottom line. So that's all for this evening. I want to thank everybody for listening, and
we'll see you again next Thursday. Watch for announcement on my Facebook page and website
as to the topic of the night. So thanks you guys and good night.
