Starting point is 00:00:00 CBN family, when's the last time you thought about repairness? Not preparedness, but repairdness. That's what You FixedIt.aI is all about. Repairness. What can you repair when you need to save some cash or no one's coming to repair it? The other day, my thermostat went black. My HVAC turned off.
Starting point is 00:00:24 I'm talking $100 just to bring a tech out. I plugged the information into you fixed it.aI, and it told me that my condensation outflow pipe was clogged. It was triggering an automatic shuttle. In about 10 minutes, my system was back on and working. I canceled my $100 appointment. Bingo. It gave me easy to follow instructions, a whole section on safety so I didn't electrocute myself, and then a list of tools that I might need to get the job done.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Check it out for yourself, make it a part of your preparedness. preparedness plans. That's Y-O-U-F-I-X-E-D-I-T-A-I. And if you put slash prepper on the end, you get 10% off. And they'll know we sent you. If you're with Alan Greenspan, we ought to just eliminate the debt ceiling. Oh, absolutely. You go. The ability of almost every working American to access more credit than they should have been able to mask the underlying fact that lower and middle class incomes were not rising. That's not a tenable change. Isn't I the time to eliminate?
Starting point is 00:01:35 We've been a long time ago. Let's talk only about our own homegrown animals that are patrolling America right now. So it goes down to the simplest thing. Be prepared. Be vigilant. Good evening, folks. James Welton with the I Am Liberty Show. Listen, tonight we're going to do things a little different.
Starting point is 00:02:05 We've got ourselves a great guest. Hopefully you've read the show description. Hope you've been looking forward to this like I have. This guest is a, he's a measure of what's capable with friendship, even long distance, friendship, even friendship that's not even nurtured very often. You know, I got this guy's name through another person who, well, I'll tell you about Matt Cochran with the tactical dads.com because it's a great website. Tactical dads, you can follow them on Facebook. You can check out the website. they do a podcast and
Starting point is 00:02:43 I've been on the podcast I've posted it up on my website I'm Liberty Show.com linked me up with Andy Murphy who's with us tonight thesecuredad.com which is a phenomenal site
Starting point is 00:03:00 really. I mean it is right now it is and also for you entrepreneurs out there you need to go check the site out because the way that is laid out is great too from a business standpoint but the content on there is excellent andy's story is incredible and uh we're probably
Starting point is 00:03:19 going to have a two-parter with andy because i really want to get into this school security and school shooting topic i really want to polish off our big collection of podcasts about school shootings with with a real deep dive into school security and i don't think we're going to be able to get that done tonight which is fine we'll probably have them on again and we'll shore that thing up. And like I said, and I know I've talked about it a lot, but this mass shooting super podcast that we're in the process of creating is going to include the podcast that we did in the past,
Starting point is 00:03:55 the one with Dane from the Gun Metal Armory. We're going to have the behavior analyst Christian Sawyer on there, and then we'll polish it off with Andy Murphy here, who's going to join us tonight. So in the essence of time for a change, I'm not going to blabber on. but trust me there's plenty to talk about tonight
Starting point is 00:04:14 so once we sure things up with Andy we'll jump into a bunch of other content there's tons of stuff to talk about and please stay on after the interview because I have something that is vitally important to tell you that it's a mistake that I made
Starting point is 00:04:29 it's a direction that I push the listening audience into that I need to grab you before you go any further if you have gone any further on the topic and it has to do with the ready network all right and their network marketing company. So please stay tuned for that. It's a big announcement, and it's kind of a screw-up on my part,
Starting point is 00:04:49 so I want to make sure you guys hear it. But without further ado, let's get our man on Andy Murphy, joining us tonight, Thesecuredadad.com. How you doing tonight, sir? I'm doing well, James. Thank you so much for having me. No, I appreciate you joining us on the I Am Liberty Show. You know, this is...
Starting point is 00:05:08 we've done more guests in the recent days but my show is long ran as a show with very few guests I've just been hit with a bunch of great guests over and over again so it's I like it I do like it especially when I've got someone on like you let me first say Andy I'm a guy who owns and runs a website and a podcast obviously and writes for a living and I want to give you kudos on the layout on your website because not only is the content the content is great on the website, obviously. I mean, really, a cut above...
Starting point is 00:05:43 Thank you. Thank you. A cut above, if not one of the best, when it comes to literally going and finding information about security and how it pertains to the average human, you know? Right. But outside of the content itself, the way that you have it set up is awesome, too. I mean, from the standpoint of really marketing the website,
Starting point is 00:06:05 capturing and growing an email list and that type of thing. I know many of the listeners probably don't look at the website that way, but I certainly look at the website that way and appreciate the thought that. I appreciate the thought that went into that. It took a lot of mistakes to get it dispolished. Well, it's nice, man. I really like it. I'm a little bit obsessed with how people set their websites up
Starting point is 00:06:30 in order to take advantage of the traffic, you know, because I think a lot of times, especially early on when it comes to bloggers, and I know I have a lot of people listening who want to go this route or maybe going this route, you start to think, like, as long as I get a lot of people who come to my website, then that's good. I'm a success, and you quickly find out that just because people come doesn't necessarily mean you make any money. Right. And I want to be able to contact folks again and be able to say,
Starting point is 00:07:03 hey, here's a new article that I think you might like. Here is something else that I have discovered. And so I want to be able to keep talking to people as long as they'll allow, or as long as they'll listen. Yeah. It's really hard to do if you don't have constant contact with them. You know, there's just so much in life. I mean, I'm always blown away. I'm always blown away, and I'm sure you are too, about the fact that people come to a website, listen to a podcast,
Starting point is 00:07:33 download an episode on a weekly basis and dedicate that much of their precious time to something that you create. I mean, that's a powerful thing. So Andy, uh, somebody's womb. Go ahead. Sorry. Yeah. No doubt about it. So you, um, I want you to tell us about how you got into this thing because when you read the website, when you get into the content, when you see the level of depth that you're explaining these things and just the sheer amount of posts that you have up there at first glance you obviously say to yourself okay Andy Murphy security professional for 20 years working you know for such and such company with a great background in this stuff and uh I wanted you to sort of give your story
Starting point is 00:08:18 I think you might surprise some people sure uh thanks um but you know this all started for me I had a mind shift change back on April 20th, 1999, and that was the day of the attack on Columbine High School. I was in high school at the time, and that changed my life. I was not there, but when I got home that afternoon and I started seeing the coverage on CNN
Starting point is 00:08:49 and all these kids pouring out of a school that kind of looked like mine, these guys were wearing clothes that looked like the clothes that my friends wore. I can imagine myself and my friends in that situation, and all of a sudden it clicked with me that I had to understand that my personal safety is my personal responsibility. And so when you have a shift in your mindset like that, you start to think completely differently than you did before. The community I was living in back in 1999 had,
Starting point is 00:09:25 actually had a school shooting in that community probably about 10 years earlier. And so this kind of subject, you know, being brought up again was kind of old news to us. But when we started talking about it, in the case of the previous school shooting, it had been a bad actor coming in from the outside and shooting inside of the school. what was different about Columbine, it was different about it from what I understood was that the threat came from within. The threat came from other students. And I remember sitting in my classes and thinking, you know, if something goes wrong in this classroom, if that guy across the desk from me starts to do something, our school resource officer can't get here in time.
Starting point is 00:10:21 What am I going to do? And so I've just lived my life thinking, okay, now, what am I going to do? I don't have a background in the military. I don't have a background in law enforcement. I thought I was heading that way. But the long and short of it is it wasn't God's will for my life. So I have looked at everything as a civilian through the lens of what am I going to do if something goes wrong. and that was always fine for me as an individual.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Then I got married, then I had a child, and all of a sudden I realized I'm responsible for a whole lot more than just me. And so that's where the secure dad comes from, because I know that there are other people like me and there are other people like you out there who are thinking, hey, you know, what do I do if this restaurant catches on fire? Where's the nearest exit? Where's the nearest fire extinguisher?
Starting point is 00:11:18 I know that I'm not the only person who thinks that way. If you're the kind of person that can't sit with your back to the door when you go to a Dunkin' Donuts, then you're a secure dad, you don't realize it. I love your logo, too, man. That is a phenomenal logo there. Nothing gets that secure dad point across like that design you've got there. Yes, I wish I could take credit for it, but I can't. The graphic artist I've got to talk to about the book cover that I'm doing. she created it and it was phenomenal beyond anything I could ever thought of myself.
Starting point is 00:11:54 No doubt about it. I may need to talk to her, to be honest with you. I'll shoot you an email. I can give you her website, absolutely. Yeah, we'll do that through email. But the transition that you made, I mean, what I like most about you story, Andy, is that I think you're part of what's coming for so many people, young people and even middle-aged people who have grown up thinking that I have to go to school
Starting point is 00:12:24 and I have to choose something that I want to do for a living, then I have to get a degree in that thing. And then once I become an expert at that thing, then I can get paid good money. And the people of the I Am Liberty Show, the listeners, they do my story. They know that that totally opposite to how I lived my life. and I think your situation is very similar and I really do think that this is a direction we're going to see people go pretty often in life
Starting point is 00:12:52 I think we're going to see them getting out getting out of college and not only doing it because you know you did it for your reasons I did it for mine they were a little bit different but I think we're going to see it happening for a ton of reasons you know maybe even out of necessity
Starting point is 00:13:09 based on the fact that I know I know people are really struggling to get jobs in their field when they come out of college and things like that. But it's just refreshing, Andy, to hear a story like that where you just decided this is what I'm into, and I'm going to figure out a way to make it work. And I hope it is working for you. It is. It is. You know, I'm not a millionaire by any stretch.
Starting point is 00:13:36 I'm not lighting cigars of $20 bills, but this is a good thing. Yeah. It's good and it's fulfilling. And, you know, I have the support of my family, which I can't say how important that is is to have their support. But it's working out great. That's awesome. What I'd really like to get into, and we had some other things that we were going to talk about, but I think you're really covered about how it really changed your life, what happened.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Right. you have been thinking about this issue for a very long time. In my show description, I talked about how nice it would have been. We had a nice break between the time when I contacted you and said, can you come on the show to talk about the school shootings? Until now, you know, and it would have been nice to say that we hadn't had another school shooting, but it looks like it's something that's just going to happen. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:34 You know, depending on who you talk to, and I talk to a lot of people about it, parents are thinking all sorts of things, you know, from homeschooling to, you know, body armor in book bags, which I'm not particularly too angry about. I think that's kind of a good direction to go. We did a couple shows. We did a couple shows on this topic, and I know it's, I know that when, let me, let me preface it with this because it's a big important thing for the audience to know for you to know too, Andy. We're definitely not looking for the pen ultimate answer when we do these shows about the school shootings. But I'd love to get your take on what comes to mind when you see these things, being that you're so security-minded, are there things that come to your mind every time this happens and you say,
Starting point is 00:15:25 if we just improve here, if we just consider this, what comes to mind? Right. I think for a lot of the situations that we find ourselves in, I think it comes to mind when we talk about the unfortunate viz at Santa Fe High School. We look at Newtown, Connecticut. In those particular cases, those were young men who had most likely troubling histories. By the way, I don't ever use the shooter's names when I write and when I talk about it. I'm not giving these people any sort of glory or anything that could be misinterpreted as glory.
Starting point is 00:16:10 So if we look at those two particular guys, they had access to firearms that they should not have had access to. They were probably going through a lot of issues that maybe their parents turned a blind eye to. There's a lot of people who say, oh, we can't ever tell when these things are going to happen. And the truth is you can see signs. People who are close to the shooters can see changes in behavior. They can see changes in how they act, how they talk, what they're thinking, what they're doing. If all of a sudden they're taking an interest in firearms when they hadn't had it before, there are always signs.
Starting point is 00:16:51 There are always things that lead up to this. There's an author that I really admire. I don't always agree with everything that he says, but his name is Gavin DeBacker. He wrote The Gift of Fear. And he talks about there are ways that you can see an individual, their behavior leading up to an attack and even just seconds before it happens. There are things that we, all of us humans, do. There are specific thought patterns that we have and there are specific physical patterns that we have. And you can see these things coming if you're close enough to somebody.
Starting point is 00:17:26 who turns out to be a shooter. And it's just whether or not as a parent, as a friend, you recognize it or you act on it. And that's important. If there's this whole thing that you'll read in a lot of law enforcement blogs, and that is if you see something, say something. and I think a lot of these situations could be prevented if somebody had just stood up and said something.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Now, there was a case earlier this year in the state of Michigan where parents turned in their teenage son who was going to commit a school shooting. He had actually stolen his grandparents' shotguns, had sold off the end of the barrel so they'd fit him in his book bag. He had written it all up, he had drawn it all up. And at some point, just decided that he couldn't take it anymore.
Starting point is 00:18:30 He started acting differently. His parents got involved. They found out what was going on. And they actually turned him over to the police, which I'm sure it was a heart-wrenching decision to do as a parent, to see that, one, your child is planning on hurting other people's children. And, two, being brave enough to actually go to law enforcement. and say this was something that was going to happen. Our son needs help.
Starting point is 00:18:55 We need to make sure he doesn't hurt anybody. We need to make sure he doesn't hurt himself. So a lot of times when I see these situations, you know, occur, I think, did somebody see something? Did somebody fail to say something? Did a parent not look the other way when they realized that, you know, their handgun was missing, you know, does somebody not lock something up properly? So that's the first thing that comes to mind is really, you know, the person.
Starting point is 00:19:22 responsibility of a parent to be able to notice in their child that there's some sort of change and that there's some sort of a problem. I think, well, yeah, that's one of the things that makes me most nervous about this thing is I, you know, I know when kids become teenagers, they're less reliable when it comes to information, right, about how they're feeling and how things are going. but at the same time it's just so hard for me to fathom my kid walking in from school and me not being able to tell that things have changed or have gotten to such a drastic point you know there has to be outbursts in the home there has to be attitude there has to be you know and at the end of the day you come to the conclusion
Starting point is 00:20:11 that there's a lot of kids out there without parents that well there might be parents in the home but they're still without parents Right. I think that's one of the big deals. Yeah, that's it. Yeah, I mean, they're there, but they're not really there. I don't know how much of them is there. I don't know what kind of attention they're paying to their kids,
Starting point is 00:20:29 because, you know, I feel like you would do if your kid was experiencing bullying to the degree that a lot of these guys were experiencing, I feel like if I were in their position, I'd do everything I could to take them out of that situation. Yeah. You know what? I mean, if you're sending your children. child of school to learn and he's getting bullied all the time. I'm not just, you know, I'm definitely not giving these guys a pass by any means, but I'm trying to put myself in the
Starting point is 00:20:57 shoes of the parents and figure out what exactly would it take for me to be so disconnected that it could get to this point. Right. You know? Right. So and, uh, good. So from a, uh, I think from a, the standpoint of parents and the standpoint of, you know, of almost the word that comes to mind is almost like counterintelligence, but I really like the idea, right, to see something say something idea. I think it makes a lot of sense. I think a lot of people are scared to do it. I think that fear will probably go away, though, right?
Starting point is 00:21:35 What do you think about that? That sort of, I don't want to step on people's toes, fear. Right, and we have the whole political, correct aspect of it, where we don't want to offend anybody. And so this is your personal safety. If somebody's offended, who cares? You know what? If somebody's offended, then that means you are living long enough to have somebody be offended by your actions.
Starting point is 00:22:02 And that's good. Other than the opposite. Right, exactly. You'd rather be, you know, rather not be dead and wish you had said something. It's kind of like you don't let being politically correct. correct in your life. If you see something, you know, and you feel like you need to say something, leave the situation. Like, you know, gosh, if you're in a grocery store and it's, you know, 85 degrees outside,
Starting point is 00:22:32 and a guy comes in wearing shorts, it's been a big puffy jacket, and his hands are shoved down in the jacket, and he's sweating and he's mumbling to himself. That's a situation you probably need to get away from. You know, leave the store, grab your phone, close. Call 911. Say, hey, there's a guy acting weird. 85 degrees. He's got a coat on.
Starting point is 00:22:53 He's mumbling to himself. You know, I got a feeling that this guy might have a gun or a weapon inside that coat that he's not – he doesn't want other people to see. So, you know, get out the situation. Call 911. And, you know what? If it turns out to be nothing, it turns out to be nothing. I know plenty of law enforcement officers who say, call us. That is what we are there for.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I'll tell you what, Andy. you bring up a topic that is really important right now, especially on the heels, because I can see sort of a sea change in how the police are being used already, because as it typically happens, people are being bullied out of their common sense. I think back to the issue with Starbucks, and the two black guys who were there, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:42 and the stink that got raised because of that, Now, Starbucks, in my opinion, went totally in the wrong direction. For those of you listening who don't know, now they're going to let anybody show up and just sit around in the restaurant. That's their answer to that problem. So that'll be great. But outside of that, I've seen several of these stories pop up now where people have called police on, you know, whoever. I mean, primarily, I'm not picking on anybody, but primarily these stories about minorities getting the police call on and putting them in a very uncomfortable situation. that I can understand, right?
Starting point is 00:24:17 I can understand being a minority. I read one today about a younger black man who was inspecting a home for his job and the neighbor called a person. Yeah. Well, here's the problem. I mean, you know the problem. I don't have to say here's the problem like I'm giving the audience some brilliant revelation. Are we going to be a society that moves in the direction of, oh, I see some stranger outside of my neighbor's house back to Yatze? or are we going to be
Starting point is 00:24:46 you know people who are strong enough to say oh they made a mistake you know that was a mistake it's not an attack on me it was a mistake
Starting point is 00:24:56 they seen something they said something and it turned out it was nothing I mean I think that's who we need to be you know but I can see the way things
Starting point is 00:25:05 are going and the way that pop culture is moving the world and it seems like people are probably going to do the opposite unfortunately which makes me even more nervous
Starting point is 00:25:14 You know, they're going to see something. Rather than call, they're going to make an excuse and say, well, that's probably just, it's probably nothing, you know. And again, in an effort to make people feel comfortable. Yeah, you know, we've just got to be intelligent about our safety and about who we're letting get close to us and who we're surrounding ourselves with. I think you're 100% right. I think you're 100% right. Why don't you give us a little, since we're a little, short on time. Why don't you give us a little bit about the book that's coming out?
Starting point is 00:25:50 Sure. So that they know about that. I'm sure that's going to be a, this is a tool, guys. It's like anything else. You know, it's like a book that I write. It's like a book, you know, your favorite book that you turn to. What I can tell you is if you are, and I haven't done this personally, I'm just saying this out of, you know, out of sheer thought, and you can correct me if I'm wrong. But I imagine, folks, if you're looking to go out and get a book on increasing your personal awareness and personal safety and security,
Starting point is 00:26:20 you're probably going to struggle to find something that's relatively readable that focuses on just that topic. I mean, I'm sure you did a market study and I'm sure you went out there to see what the competition would look like, and I have to imagine it was probably pretty reference guidey, right?
Starting point is 00:26:36 Probably pretty like reference base books, big picture stuff. Yeah, there is a lot of theory out. there. One book, I'll talk about mine in just a second, one book that I really love, and I use as a reference sometimes. It's a book called Left of Bang by
Starting point is 00:26:54 Patrick Van Horn and Jason Riley. And it's actually written on the Marine Combat Hunter Program. And so I read this, and it was made for security professionals, and it is made for people who have had, you know, that
Starting point is 00:27:10 mindset change. But what I haven't seen, and this is again why I started the secure dad is stuff that is focused on families and the book that's coming out is going to be called home security the secure dad's guide and it's a reference for parents to be able to talk about and understand how their home can be vulnerable the goal is to make sure that your house is not a target in the first place then common sense ways that you can fortify your home to make sure that nobody can you know, break the window or kick the door in, then you're going to try to deter people from making sure that they don't ever even try
Starting point is 00:27:52 to get into your house. And then what to do to defend yourself in a situation where maybe somebody does break in, maybe they are on some sort of narcotics. They're going crazy. It's, you know, the ex-husband of the family that lived there before, he's coming back, you know, and he's got the wrong house. So it's really a book that looks at a layered home defense and how these things are easy, small steps that you can do,
Starting point is 00:28:23 and you're not going to turn your house into a prison. You're not going to turn your house into that one on the block that nobody wants to walk by. A lot of things that I talk to people about is actually you're going to make your home safer and you're going to make your curb appeal go up. One of the easiest things, and I'll tell this to your listeners, is one of the easiest things I ever did to make my home saver
Starting point is 00:28:44 was I went to Amazon and I bought a dawn to dusk light bulb and I put that on my front porch and the dawn and the dust light bulb has a little sensor that when it gets dark outside the light bulb comes on and so I have lit up my main entryway so
Starting point is 00:29:02 that nobody can sneak to the bushes and then sneak up the steps without being seen by somebody else a thief's best friend is darkness and if you can take away darkness from the front of your home and from the back of your home, you're going to really dissuade somebody from wanting to come up and kick in your door. So for $12, the specialty light bulb, screwed it once, flip the switch and walk away. And that helps not only make your house safer, but also adds curb appeal because you're lighting up your home at night.
Starting point is 00:29:33 It looks nice. Well, I like it. Did we lose you? No, I'm still here. Okay. Yeah, I mean, I like it, and like I said, I think it's a tough thing to find. You know, that's why your website stood out to me so much, and that's why I think the book is going to be a great read.
Starting point is 00:29:55 I've got a copy, but like I said, I haven't got into it yet. I will certainly get into it because I'm a big fan of that layered approach to home security. I think that is the way to go. Big proponent of deter, deter, deter. I don't want to fight anybody in the middle of the night. I have no desire. Like I said, I am not a military guy who is ready and wants to pull the AR-15 out in the middle of the night and go hunt somebody. I just want them to walk by and go to the next place, you know?
Starting point is 00:30:27 Right. So I love that approach. Yeah, I talk to a lot of people and a lot of people think that home security starts when something goes wrong. And you can prevent things from going wrong. Do simple things. So, yeah, so the book is Home Security, the Securedad's Guide. It should be out June 5th on Amazon. June 5th, right around the corner.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Right on the corner. Well, I'll tell you what, Andy. Thanks so much for coming on. I think I don't know how many appearances and what kind of media you have lined up and stuff like that when the book does come out, but I'd love to have you back on so we can really, really dig into this topic,
Starting point is 00:31:04 because I know you have a lot more to give us on this one. Absolutely, I do. All right, excellent. Well, we'll be in touch, man. I know you've got to go talk to graphic designer and get a nice beautiful and cover-up. And that's going to be great. So looking forward to have you back on.
Starting point is 00:31:25 All right. Thank you, James. I appreciate it. And I appreciate your listeners tuning in and letting me talk to them tonight. Thanks so much, Andy. We'll talk soon, man. All right, buddy. Have a good show.
Starting point is 00:31:35 Have a good night. All right, folks. Thesecureddad.com. again, that was Andy Murphy from Thesecuredadad.com. A little short on time tonight, but we're going to get him back on and we're going to really dig into what it is we want to get into with him because I'm very excited to see his thoughts on those things.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Regarding school security, it is an answer. You know, there's no getting around it. It is most certainly an answer. And we've got a long way to go to hit all the answers, you know, and to get all the things that we need to get. squared away. But I can tell you right now, that's something that is going to it's going to change the game if we can get buy-in, right?
Starting point is 00:32:19 If we can get buy-in from all the schools. I've been trying to get a hold of the company that builds the bulletproof shelters into the classrooms. Really a big fan of those. But, man, they're tough to get a hold of. I think they're probably in high demand right now, you know. So I have to imagine that's part of it. of the struggle, but I just think that we can make a big difference with that.
Starting point is 00:32:45 So, that said, it's onward to the show. It feels like it's been a while since I've been on, but I'm guessing it's the same amount each week, right? Seven days. And I even got a show out before I headed off to PreparCon. Look for a PreparCon recap show. All right, I'm probably going to do that within the next couple days, really give you a big chunk of what's what it was all about and what was going on there.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Why don't we do this? Why don't we do some commercials? We'll come back. We'll re-rev the engine and we'll go into what it is we're going into tonight. We're still going to talk a little bit about security. Let me talk about what I have on deck here. I've got two countries, Sweden, and another one up there. I don't remember which one it is.
Starting point is 00:33:39 And I want to talk about two incredibly different and diverse things that they're doing. Sweden is creating a government-style preparedness process for the people. And I really want to talk about that because that's something that's very exciting. The contest is over. It was a poorly run contest. You can blame that on me, but I did run a contest over the last two weeks. I'll be 100% honest with you. I was really just trying to see if this contest software that I was,
Starting point is 00:34:09 using was worth its weight in gold and I think it is because I'm going to be doing a lot more reviews of gear for shtfpreparatus.com and their YouTube channel. I'll get you guys the link once we start posting videos because they're going to be fun videos. So I wanted to make sure that as this flow of, because the good news is your host gets to keep all the stuff too. So I wanted to make sure that as this stuff starts to pile up, I have a method to get the things that I maybe don't want to keep out, which is great news for you guys, because that means you're going to get all kinds of cool stuff through giveaways. But we've got a bunch of stuff to talk about.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Again, I want to talk to you about a little bit of a change in what the show content is. I want your thoughts on that. Entrepreneurial thoughts. I want to tell you, I'm going to give you this warning probably as soon as we get back. on Ready Network and something that I found at PreparCon that I just, I'm not here to bash anybody, but I need to tell you guys about it because I brought you guys into it. And a lot of other stuff, man. We've got all kinds of stuff to talk about.
Starting point is 00:35:19 I want to talk about the MHA Bushcraft or survival kit that I have sitting here next to me that I haven't even opened yet. So we will get into all that. But let's first give our sponsors the time of day that they deserve. All right? So we'll be... This amazing salt water or biofuel activated device makes power anytime, anywhere, in any weather, day or night. simply add a little bit of salt and water or urine to the unit and it instantly makes electricity. G-Meg will recharge 6AA batteries in about four hours repeatedly. It has an indefinite shelf light and will recharge an unlimited number of batteries. Get yours at Greenovative.com and when you need it, you'll be glad you did. The power of music is unbelievable. I can't say to what degree it affects other people, you know, to what degree that it,
Starting point is 00:38:29 grabs people the way that it grabs me. It's just, it's an amazing thing. That's all I have to say about it. I just hope it hits you the way it hits me, because good God. I was listening to Mushugah when I was working out last week. No, last night, what am I talking about last week?
Starting point is 00:38:47 And, uh, I don't know if you guys are familiar with them. Brutal Swedish metal band. I think they're from Sweden. Yeah. Uh, it just turns you on. It just gets the, It gets those last reps out. It gets all that.
Starting point is 00:39:02 It's just, it's like a freight train of inspiration. What can I say? So, let's do some announcements real quick. I just threw a link up in the chat room. Anybody who wants to take a look at that video I threw in the chat room, that's sort of my little ode to PreparCon that I put together on YouTube. It's just a quick, I don't know, 10-minute video, something like that. David Jones is on there from our 7.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Saturday night show if you want to see him and see him in action live. It's just me getting around the show, me doing some hiking, that type of thing. But there's some good music on that one too. That's it. Let's talk about some things because we've got some things to talk about. Right? Still have to give kudos to Colga Silver. Right? Our sponsor still this month, Colga Silver, Prepper Silver, breakable.
Starting point is 00:39:55 I finally got mine. I was waiting and waiting and waiting. to see these things in real life. And they are phenomenal. Right? Break apart into quarter ounce, half ounce, one ounce pieces. I don't want to beat the drum. It's the perfect silver for preppers.
Starting point is 00:40:13 That's what it is. Either you're into that sort of thing and you're going to go check it out. If you use the promo code, I Am Liberty, then you're going to get five bucks off. If you think that you're going to use silver in a collapse situation or if you're a big fan of collecting silver, you want to go grab this stuff. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Okay. Another sponsor, MHA Bushcrafter. Right? So MHA Bushcrafter with a K. Check it out on Amazon. It's actually, what I like about this kit, very reluctant, right? I've been very reluctant to talk about a kit to back a survival kit because it's one of those things. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:40:50 You can't walk away from it. You know, and if you get something and you find out, oh, man, this thing's no good. Then all of a sudden you put your name on it, you put the show's name on it, and that type of thing. Well, the story with the MAJ Bushcrafter is it was a job. It was a client through Upwork that I was talking to about something completely different, right? It was just a totally different job. I don't really want to go into it, but we linked up, and there's always opportunity.
Starting point is 00:41:18 I mean, I can't drive that home more. If you have a chance to talk to somebody in your line of business, even if it's about something totally different and non-beneficial, there's always opportunity, right? So long story short, we have a talk and we find out that we can do business together. Craig, thank you so much. The ads up on the I.M. Liberty Show, if you want to check out pictures of the thing, you can also go to wg. bushcraft.com. Again, it's called the MHA Bushcrafter, and it's not a bag. It's not a backpack.
Starting point is 00:41:50 It's not a thin, cheap sling that's full of a bunch of crap that's going to fall apart on you. this bag was put together and it was inspired by a man named Myron H. Avery. He was an Appalachian Trail pioneer. He was a guy who basically blazed the Appalachian Trail, if you will. All right, so we're talking, and it was put together based on, well, he's family of the man who created it, and he has all of his journals. And he read all of his journals, and he looked at what Myron went through. as they put together the Appalachian Trail
Starting point is 00:42:30 and realized that these are the things that he needed, these are the things that people will need. What it's not is a kit that is going to prepare you for every end of the world situation. You know, because first of all, that's something that's impossible for a kid to do, right? There's no kid out there that's going to prepare you for all that. This thing is filled with quality,
Starting point is 00:42:56 products, number one. So it's not just a bunch of junk thrown into a backpack. It comes in a great rolled-up carrier, a custom 1,000-endier nylon versatile carrier that can be worn as a sling or worn around your belt, which is another reason why I like it. And it's got over 15 essential survival items, right? First aid, shelter, fire, water, foraging needs. It's got a great first-aid kid in and a good full-tang nut. there's nothing in here that is a throwaway right 550 cord it even has an all comes with
Starting point is 00:43:36 an all in it waterproof lighter yes a waterproof lighter has a ferro rod too but it also has a lighter why because these things work these things work the other great thing about it it comes with a a canteen oh let me see if I can find out how big that thing is I'm looking over to see. It will attach to your molly. That's another big one. But it comes with a stainless steel canteen that you can boil water. And I wanted to see if I could find out.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Here it is. Contained in an 18 by 8 single-wall stainless steel bottle. So good to know. Good things. The MHA Bushrafter, check them out. Listen, it's not the cheapest survival kit out there. All right? It's built with good.
Starting point is 00:44:30 good stuff and you got to pay for good stuff. It's not going to break the bank, but it's... What I'm going to do with, you want to know what I'm going to do with mine? I'll tell you right now. It's going to get slid into a bugout bag. It's going to get slid into a hunting bag when I go out. Why? Because I know it meets all the needs for wilderness survival.
Starting point is 00:44:49 All right. M.H.A. Bushcrafter with a K. Go to the website. You can click to the link. I'm Liberty Show.com. Or just go to W.G. Bushcraft with a K.com. I think that's it. That's it on the people supporting the show.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Listen, these people support the show. They support me. They make sure that I get to do what I do. Okay, so if you guys hear something you like, listen. I know we live in an age of free media and free everything and free music and free this and free that. I don't know what to tell you. I'm going to keep doing this and I'll figure out a way to make it work, but it sure is more comfortable if you support.
Starting point is 00:45:32 the sponsors here at prepper broadcasting.com and also the sponsors for the iam liberty show i'm leave it at that i'll never bully into anything in fact our next order of business is very important all right this is very important business and i have to walk back on something i have to walk back on something so that you guys know oh hold on one second out preparing says do you believe cogel would be recognized as readily as pretty 64 90 percent silver uh uh Man, let me shoot you an article, Al. I hope I remember. But let me shoot you an article.
Starting point is 00:46:10 There are various ways of testing silver. But I do hold issue with pre-64 junk silver. If you guys want to get into a talk on junk silver, we can do that. But let me just get this one thing out of the way. Okay? Let me get this one thing out of the way because it's a mistake that I made. And it's a risk that I put you guys into. You folks in the chat room might not have went for it,
Starting point is 00:46:37 but somebody listening to the show may have gone for it. Let me bring the website up real quick. Readynetwork, I think it is.com. You may remember, hopefully you guys just brush me off and said James is such a flake. He's always talking about something he wants to do, start a business, start a podcast, take a risk, whatever. That's my thing, right? I believe in it.
Starting point is 00:47:01 I believe in it because it's changed my life. You know, I still get mad. I still get frustrated with life. I still yell at my kids and all that stuff. ZTA 3 said P-power. That's hilarious. But I would just want you to know things have changed, right? Things have changed.
Starting point is 00:47:23 I came across a company. Well, actually, they came across me on LinkedIn. They sent me a message about my profile, and the company's called Readynetwork.com. and I was very excited when I ran into Ready Network or when they ran into me. I said, this is going to be an option and this is going to be an opportunity
Starting point is 00:47:41 and I think it's going to be an opportunity for several reasons. You know, not just one reason. I think this is going to be an opportunity for the listeners to make some money. I think it's going to be an opportunity for me to make money. It could be a sponsor for Prepper Broadcasting.
Starting point is 00:47:57 All those things came to mind, you know, because that's what I am. I'm an opportunist. I mean, I don't know any other way to say it. That sounds bad and that's a bad thing, but I see opportunity and everything, right? I came on the show. I said we have a network marketing company here. You know, one of the more popular ones you might know is like an Avon or something like that, right?
Starting point is 00:48:25 We have a network marketing company here that is based on preparedness, that's based on survival, right? And the way you get into this thing is you buy a bag and you could sell that bag and you make pretty good money off of it. I think you buy the bag for 500 and you sell the bag for 800 or something to that effect, right? I don't know all the numbers. I don't know, you know, what people are willing to pay for that sort of thing because I want to build mine from the ground up. That's just me. But I know there's a lot of people out there who listen and a lot of people out there who, you know, just say, I want to be prepared. I don't want to think about it.
Starting point is 00:49:04 Just give me a bag. Just give me a bag. I'll pay $800 for it and then I'll be done. I'll be ready. So Ready Network was at PreparCon. I walked in, I did about two laps around PreparCon before I even got my head into it because there were so many people to see.
Starting point is 00:49:20 And, you know, for me, not only is it awesome. Right? Because it's super exciting. It was, it's all kinds of fun. Right? I got to memorize the class listings. I got to memorize where all. all the cool vendors are just for my own personal enjoyment.
Starting point is 00:49:39 Then I got to break that information down into, all right, who am I going to make money off of, who am I going to get something cool to take home from, all this stuff. And when I seen Ready Network, I said, okay,
Starting point is 00:49:50 this is great. This is great, we're going to talk. First day I didn't talk to them, right? I said, I'll get them on day two. Because the first day, I really did spend a lot of time just sucking it all in.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Now, ZTA says, I've lost friends over not joining their MLM thing. That's not cool. You know what? DTA, that probably is cool. They probably weren't good friends anyway.
Starting point is 00:50:14 So let's get right to it. Okay, I walk up to the Ready Network booth day two. I just got out of a class. I'm all charged up and I see, you know what? I'm going to go talk to these guys. We're going to set up a time to meet and talk and we're going to do business.
Starting point is 00:50:29 And that's, you know, what I did with a few people there. And the booth was crowded. another good sign. I said, all right, I know they got a lot of money. You know, one of the things about the writing business is you have to judge your clients based on perceived, you know, profits, perceived sort of caddy. How much money do these people have to pay me, really? You know, so if I go talk to a blogger who just put a blog up a month ago and he says, man, I need some blog content, what can you do for me? it's a very different conversation
Starting point is 00:51:02 that you have and a very different dollar value in mind than when you talk to a company like Ready Network who has a thousand people buying in and they're all selling products and they have multiple employees and you know it's a corporation it's a company that's worth a lot of money
Starting point is 00:51:18 so I go up and talk to them or with the intent to talk to them and they're busy they're talking to people you know people want to make money there's no getting around it people want to find a way to make a little extra money or they want to change careers to make money whatever it is adjusting my microphone they have all their products displayed across the table right showing off all their products what was the first thing I saw I think the first thing I saw was an axe hammer combo
Starting point is 00:51:53 it was like a hatchet a rounded hatchet hammer combo and it was It was made of galvanized aluminum it looked like. Now, don't quote me. Listen, Ready Network, please don't get upset and don't sue me over this or anything stupid. I just have to be honest with my listeners. Okay, this is not a hit piece on Ready Network. This is my honest perception, my honest opinion on what I saw. Okay, I would gladly have anybody from Ready Network on to talk about what it is you do offer
Starting point is 00:52:30 and give your side of things. But I have to be honest and I have to have my integrity with the listening audience. I see this thing made out of galvanized aluminum is what it looked like to me. You know that kind of powdered metal look? The kind of metal that I've broken before
Starting point is 00:52:48 by accident. The kind of metal that I've literally broken with my own human force. And I'm not a big guy. Right? I'm not even a super strong. guy but I've broken that type of what it looked like to me so I have a hammer and I have an axe and I'm nervous about it okay I look at the thing and I say to myself and I don't
Starting point is 00:53:16 know about that so immediately that leads me to look at other things a little closer right so I go to the compass and the compass is a closed it's the military style compass why am I drawing a blank on the type of compass. It has a name. You guys know it. The way you utilize the compass is by opening it and staring through it
Starting point is 00:53:42 and lining the usually it's a piece of metal you line that up with the compass itself. Come on, chat room. Somebody help me with the type of compass is going to drive me crazy. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Anyway, typically these guys
Starting point is 00:53:55 are housed in a metal casing. Lens attic, thank you. The Lensatic compass. Typically housed in a metal casing, you usually put out pretty decent money for one of them. I did, right? I wanted a good quality one. So I picked the lensatic compass up. Compass itself didn't look bad, right? The compass itself didn't look too bad, but it was housed in a plastic case. And it was a cheap-looking plastic case, right? I mean, almost, almost like, something, like, something you would give to your kit.
Starting point is 00:54:41 So then my heart started beating. Right? Because now I'm understanding what I'm seeing. And I go down the table and I start looking at other things and listen, I'm going to be honest with you. It's not good stuff.
Starting point is 00:54:57 It's not high quality stuff in my opinion. And I don't know how much trouble this can get me in, but you have to understand. And like I said, ready network, you can come on and argue this if you want. I need to be honest. with you guys because I got on this show and said that Ready Network would be a good way for you to make money. I said it'd be a really cool opportunity for you to go out there and make money and to sell products to people around you, maybe set up booths at events somewhere if that's the
Starting point is 00:55:22 thing that you might be into. And listen, at the end of the day, at the end of the day, having those products is probably better than not having any products, I guess, right? Having that level of preparedness might be better than not having any. I don't know. But I can tell you right now, I looked over the stuff on the table, and I'm just going to be honest. My heart dropped. I felt an immediate letdown, and it almost terrified me.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Right? It almost terrified me because I'm thinking to myself, there's somebody out there who signed up for this thing. Even if one of you signed up for this thing and got one of those bags and paid $500 for that. bag and emptied it out and I know the people who listen to the show. If you've seen the stuff that I've seen, you'd have been very upset. So I'm hoping that you didn't go down that path. If you do still want to do it, feel free. If you want to do that, right? If you want to get
Starting point is 00:56:24 involved in that, that's completely fine, I can't do it. Right? I'm not holding you get in. It's anybody who wants to do it and who wants to make a living. They also do other things. You know, Ready Network, they have a silver program, which you really can't mess up. They sell coffee, they sell seeds. So it's not to say that Ready Network is not an opportunity for you, but the survival bag is filled with less than optimal survival gear. I mean, really survival gear that is lackluster, in my opinion. And I just want you to know that because if you get latched onto this company,
Starting point is 00:57:03 you're going to have to sell the stuff. You're going to have to get behind it and say to yourself, this is a good lens at it compass, even though it looks like something that I'd give it to my nephew, I'm going to give it to this person. And there were a lot of weird things in there. I'm not going to go into it because it's not a hit piece on Ready Network.
Starting point is 00:57:20 For the most part, they're doing a good thing, and they're doing good business, and I talk to some of the reps, and they're making all right money. And it may be something you want to do, and the way you could probably justify it is to say that, look, if I give someone a bag, and the stuff in it works for one disaster
Starting point is 00:57:38 then I guess it's worth it right I guess you've made the right move but I will caution you okay that's all I'm doing I just want to caution you so that you know what's really coming your way what you will have to stand behind and that's all right I just want you guys to understand that
Starting point is 00:58:00 I brought it out I made it like it was going to be something incredible it may still be something incredible for you but the reality behind it is what I just explained. Okay, so let's move on. No more picking on Ready Network. I'm not even going to, I didn't even pursue it. It's another thing that hurts my heart, right? I didn't even pursue the business angle with them.
Starting point is 00:58:25 If they contact me, I don't know what I'm going to do. It's going to be a real tough day. If they contact me and they want me to write articles and stuff like that and put my name on something, it's going to be tough for me. I'm not going to lie. I'm probably not going to do it. I may do it in a ghost writing capacity or something like that. That was really the only letdown of PreparCon.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Outside of that, it was a great time. So it leads me to this other question that I have for you guys. And for those of you in chat, you can answer now. For those of you out there in the listening realm, and I know there are a lot of you, and I thank you. Send me your answer at I Amlibertyshow.com. If you get into Ready Network and you start making money and you prove me wrong and you say, look, people love the products. They're using them.
Starting point is 00:59:17 Please let me know. I am Liberty Show at gmail.com. Just send me an email and say, look, this stuff works. I don't know how long it's going to work, but it's working. And if it's making you money and that type of thing, then maybe I'm wrong. Okay, I definitely have been wrong, probably a lot more than I've been right in life. But looking at that Ready Network opportunity led me to another thing. Right? Because all I do is build bridges from one thought to the other.
Starting point is 00:59:47 That's why my mind is but a tangled web. So it brought me to another idea. Okay? Right now on my website, I'm offering two free reports. I've got a report about building community. I've got a little fitness guide up there because that fits into the four pillars of the I.M. Liberty Show, right? I'm working, well, really, it's pretty much done. I just haven't created the e-course itself.
Starting point is 01:00:19 the, I'm creating a real course and a set of training, trainings on sort of urban self-reliance and how to be as urban self-reliant as you can. The first one that I've completed is on sourcing food in the urban environment and how you can sort of change, you know, the percentage of food that you buy from the supermarket. How do you do that? There are many ways to do that. There are some ways that are cost-effective. Some ways it costs a lot of money.
Starting point is 01:00:48 But it can be done, even in an urban environment. in most states. And I'm working on that thing, and I think it's good, and I think we're going to do some good stuff through there. But after I left the Ready Network table, I began to think to myself, what if I put that on pause, because that's not going anywhere, right? It's done. It's fine.
Starting point is 01:01:10 What if I put that on pause? Instead of going the direction of self-reliance, what if we went the direction of business startup, entrepreneurial, uh, spirit or what have you. Would you guys be interested in that? You know, I think that the urban self-reliance course probably will do well. I think a lot of people would be interested in it, but I wonder if it would be more helpful if I offered up a course on something like starting your own business for nearly free.
Starting point is 01:01:45 Because I'm going to be honest with you, this podcast and this business that I've led up to, I have invested more in the last year to two years exponentially than I had in the five years previous. Right? So I was doing most of the same things, right? Podcasting, running a blog, taking on sponsors, all that stuff. Writing books, selling books. I mean, I did all that stuff for about as close to free as you're going to get. And I know that's always a big deal for people, right?
Starting point is 01:02:23 I want to start a business. I want to start a thing. I want to do a thing, but I don't have any money. I don't have $10,000 to invest in a startup. Would you guys be interested in the nearly free online business plan? You know, I think it's something that I'm going to put together. I think that's an angle that we're going to take with I am Liberty. Because, A, I want to be a.
Starting point is 01:02:50 to make content that's effective. B, I want to make sure that you come to this show and you come away with something from this show and I think that you can come away with something very valuable. If we start to move in a direction, in a broad direction that basically is about entrepreneurship. Now, I can only speak to the things that I know of, but I think I have a pretty good basis for how you can take whatever it is that you do, build an audience, start selling. to them, you know? And really, that's the big thing, right? That's the big thing. You have to build an audience and figure out what it is you want to sell so you can pay the bills, and then you do that. And I can also tell you about the demographic that wants your money and wants it right now,
Starting point is 01:03:39 because there is a demographic out there that wants your money and they want it right now so long as you're offering an honest and unique service. Right. So if you can offer an honest and unique service. There are people out there who literally want your, or want to give you money, rather. I can promise you that. So again, drop me line. I'm the buddy show at gmail.com. We'll talk about it. Okay. That was a lot. Entrepreneur thoughts. I've got a contest winner. I got to find him. I don't think that's going to happen right now. How many people are tired of watching the media chase their tail over these shootings. On the subject of school shootings now.
Starting point is 01:04:37 After the last school shooting, I couldn't help but think to myself that the media resembled like a Jack Russell tail terrier that would perpetually chase its tail over what? You watch the tail chasing. Gun control, gun control, gun control, gun control, gun control.
Starting point is 01:05:02 Look at my tail. Look at my tail. Look at my tail. And then, you know, there's tail chasing on the other side too, right? Tail chasing on the other side is what? What's the right answer to the gun control thing? What is this bump on my shin? Whoa. What is the rights answer? Does anybody know? When they chase their tail, they say,
Starting point is 01:05:30 things like this video games video games video games violent TV violent TV I mean you want my honest opinion on the on the shooting that just happened this is my honest opinion I don't know these people I have no idea you know what what their deal is who they are maybe they're good people maybe they weren't it's hard for me to believe that you're paying attention to your kids if they get to the point where they stole your guns now you're probably 100% right Al so thinks they're doing it by design. This is the deal. This is the deal.
Starting point is 01:06:12 If you don't lock your guns up, you go to jail. I mean, that's it. There is no more. You better be damn sure if you're going to let your little teenage son get into your guns that you know what he's doing and why he's doing. I mean, this is a big deal, right? This is a big deal. Because this kid, this kid got the guns from his father.
Starting point is 01:06:48 Right? And everybody is back on the same thing. Well, he was a video gamer, so you know, you know how that goes. Right? You listen to video games. You play video games. You're going to kill people, right? That's a pretty good equation.
Starting point is 01:07:05 I'd like to know the percentage. You know how many people play video games in Japan? It's pretty much a big deal. If you don't know, Japan will fill stadiums. And I'm not 100% on this number, but I'm pretty sure I know it. Japan will fill stadiums of up to 70,000 people. Not to play video games. To watch dudes play video games.
Starting point is 01:07:38 Yes. I said it and I meant it. it may be even more than that. For some reason, I feel like that's low. But they'll fill stadiums of 70,000 people, probably more, to watch other people play video games. If we really want to make... I mean, if you want to talk about gun control,
Starting point is 01:07:59 we have to start with put the guns in the safe. And if they're not in the safe, then you're going to jail. Right? I mean, if your guns aren't in your safe, or if you can't control where your gun is. I'm not saying it has to be in the safe. It can't be anywhere else. I'm saying if you're not going to have it on your hip,
Starting point is 01:08:17 if you're not going to keep an eye on the thing, then it has to be in the safe. And the people who have access to the safe, you better be damn sure about who you're giving access to your safe. That's just my opinion on it. Look, I know it's not popular, but I'm not here for popular opinion anyway. Immediately that came out to me.
Starting point is 01:08:42 That immediately came to mind. I looked at the situation, I said, how did he get the guns? I mean, these guns belong to the dad. So how did he get the guns? He either knew how to get in the safe or dad left them out. That's a huge problem.
Starting point is 01:09:03 That's a huge problem. And I know if you're a gun owner, if you're in the gun community, you might initially be saying to me, whatever, whatever you would say, right? I don't know. Whatever name you want to call me, whatever you want to say.
Starting point is 01:09:19 it's a bad idea, whatever, infringement. Listen, sometimes you have to look at the future, and you have to plan for the future, or else you'll be ruined in the present. And I think the quality of the gun owner in America on a whole is good. But I think people who don't take care of their guns are going to be the reason that we have to kill people to keep our guns. one day
Starting point is 01:09:52 if we're not careful. Right? In other words, if we have a percentage of lackadaisical gun owners who leave the gun out on the table and whatever, you know, the whole thing, I've heard it all.
Starting point is 01:10:08 I've heard it all. I've heard people tell me that I'd just leave my gun right out on the table. My kids know they better not touch it. Yeah, I mean, that works when they're six, maybe, if you're lucky. But it's not the way you want to do it.
Starting point is 01:10:25 It is not the way you want to do it. They're safes for a reason. If you're not carrying, I mean, you've got to keep them safe. It's your job as a gun owner. And I think it should carry a stiff penalty. Personally, I do. Why? It's not because I'm coming down on the Second Amendment.
Starting point is 01:10:45 You guys know I've talked about the Second Amendment and the battle that is against it for so many years now. it's because every time a dude decides he's going to be a big man and he's going to leave his guns out of his safe or he's going to leave his guns unprotected or he's going to leave his guns in arms reach of a child or a teenager or a criminal then you're loading the barrel
Starting point is 01:11:12 for the other side right then you're just arming the weapons of the other side because they're going to look i told you these people do not need guns they can't even hold them correctly they can't even protect them They can't keep them away from their children. I told you.
Starting point is 01:11:30 Gun ownership in America is flawed. You need only look at the statistics. I don't want to hear that. I don't want to hear that crap. You know what I mean? I don't even want to hear it. I don't even want to give them the ammunition to bring that to the table. And if that means a few people have to go to jail for leaving their safe open or letting their kids get their guns,
Starting point is 01:11:57 hey, sorry. you know liberty is not a free ride freedom comes with consequences folks you know that's just the real deal it comes with consequences
Starting point is 01:12:12 if you decide to let your 15, 16 year old kid have access to your gun safe and he's getting bullied by people freedom comes with consequences right that second amendment comes with very serious consequences
Starting point is 01:12:28 and I like that I like that because that's how you know it's it's a right worth having it's a right worth fighting for it's a right worth dying for because the consequences are deep but the media doesn't get it
Starting point is 01:12:49 nobody gets it that's the problem right it's not even just the media it's unbelievable they're chasing their tails gun control gun control gun control all the gun control in the world won't keep a dad from leaving his gun out.
Starting point is 01:13:08 All the gun control in the world won't keep a father who legally owns guns from giving his son the combination to the safe, or however it went down. And then on the other side, they're complaining, right? This is why I don't understand. I mean, this is why I don't listen to it.
Starting point is 01:13:30 You got to understand, I don't even listen to it. The Sean Hannity's of the world, the Fox Newses of the world, I don't even listen to it. I don't even watch. I don't even have Fox News in my house. You couldn't watch it if you wanted to. If you showed up and sat on my couch with a TV controller, you wouldn't be able to watch CNN or Fox News or any of that. I don't listen to the Mark Levins. I don't listen to the Sean Hannity's. And the reason is because they just don't think enough for me. They just don't think enough and they're just not open enough to the whole scheme. You know, if you can look at it. You know, if you can look at it. You know, if you can look at it. You know, they just don't think enough. in an issue as big and as troubling as school shootings and you can point the finger at one thing. You're an idiot.
Starting point is 01:14:21 It's all there is to it. If you walk into a... It's like walking into a room that's on fire. Right? So the whole room is a blaze. Ceiling, walls, everything's on fire. And you walk in and you have a revelation. And what you do is you go turn the sink on.
Starting point is 01:14:43 I mean, that's what I see when I look at these people. These people who spend more time poking fun at the opposite side. They're standing in a room that's on fire, and their answer is to turn the sink on and let it run. It's insane, but it's real. It's insane, but it's real, and they're making millions of dollars. You want to get into some stories? Let's get into some stories.
Starting point is 01:15:13 I want to get into some stories. How about that? I don't want to open Skype. So it looks like the NFL, this is not the story I want to get into, but it looks like the NFL has banned the kneel. Now, of course, this story will take precedence over everything, because this is a very important story. But it looks to me like that's real.
Starting point is 01:15:38 You know what that means, right? That means that the ratings plunge, the sales plunge, the tickets plunge, all had an effect. It all had an effect at the end of the day. At the end of the day, the owners had light pockets, right? The wallet was light last year because of a bunch of guys who decided to kneel to make a point,
Starting point is 01:16:06 which I'm not sure if the point got across. They're the people they wanted to get across to. But they attempted to make a point, and now it looks like the owners have said, hell no, we won't go. We want people back. in the stands, we want people watching again. It was nauseating.
Starting point is 01:16:30 I mean, I've lost touch with sports big time. You know, there was a time in my life where I was way more into Philadelphia sports and I watched everything, you know, particularly the Eagles. But I don't have the headspace for it anymore, man. I'll be honest with you. I just don't have the head space for it. You know, I remember I remember draft day would be the day. I remember free agency was like, oh, man, today's free agency.
Starting point is 01:16:55 Who are we going to get? Who are they going to get? Who's going where? You lose the headspace. You know? I'm trying to do big things here. And I just don't have time to worry about the running back from Atlanta and who, you know, how many yards you got last year. I still got time for it.
Starting point is 01:17:16 I don't have the room in the brain for it. The Swedish are prepared with this government war-prepping guide. Sweden just issued a guide. on what to do when the S-H-T-F. Yeah. This is real. If crisis or war comes, is the name of the book,
Starting point is 01:17:40 the little pamphlet from the government. In a step to prepare its citizens for war, the Swedish government circulated a 20-page survival pamphlet detailing the procedures people should undertake if war breaks out. These survival guides are a concern for many. Of course, right?
Starting point is 01:17:57 You could skisage. as is the first time in more than half a century that the government has made public announcement campaign on what to do if there is a war. But the lethal don't just stop there. They cover a lot of other information, such as preparing the population for cyber attacks, terror attacks, climate change, attempts to influence decision makers, severed transportation lines causing food, shortages, and all-out urban warfare. Sweden. Powerful move. What do you guys think of? about that right oh a government preparing the people what a novel idea what a novel idea i guess sweden doesn't have a FEMA right they don't have a bloated FEMA industry or agency rather i should say industry but agency is what i mean a bloated FEMA agency that's going to
Starting point is 01:18:53 decide hmm hmm let's think do we want to actually put some money into letting these people know that they need to prepare for disasters and everything. Or do we want to just absorb that extra, whatever, however many million dollars it would take? And FEMA decides to absorb that, right? They order their meals, they order their shelf-stable meals, their coffins, their sanitation. Out-preparing says the question is, why has Sweden done this? Nothing occurs in a vacuum. well they're in my the first thing that comes to them i'm not going to say i know why because i don't
Starting point is 01:19:37 know why but it's a good point it's a good question the first thing that comes to mind to me is the uh the proximity to other nations that are suffering from serious immigrant migration right you know what i mean you're dealing with with situations in in that area up there. What is the country? Norwegians? No, what am I thinking about? There's a country that's just getting destroyed by the radical Muslims.
Starting point is 01:20:17 Is it Sweden? Maybe it was Sweden. I can't think right now, but one of those countries up there in the Netherlands is just getting, and it may be a couple, and maybe a handful, who are dealing with this immigration thing in a really bad way, and it's not going good for them. But I also think why. That's it.
Starting point is 01:20:41 Okay, yeah, so Sweden has been crowned the rape capital of Europe. That's it. So it is Sweden. I had a halo over their head because they put this document out. So my ego wouldn't allow me to say that, yes, it's the same nation that was named the rape capital of Europe. I think that's basically what it comes down to. I mean, I think that's a very big factor in it.
Starting point is 01:21:02 Right? They looked at the situation. their nation was in and they said, we could definitely erupt into, and this is their quote, not mine, but they definitely have the potential to erupt into an all-out urban warfare.
Starting point is 01:21:18 Hello. Hello. This booklet gives no indication as to where are the threat where the, sorry, that's a typo in this article. The booklet gives no indication as to where the threat may come from. But we do know that Sweden and other European
Starting point is 01:21:35 countries close to Russian borders have been on high alert since Russia's persistent involvement in Ukraine. There have also been repeated violations of Sweden's airspace by Russian fighter pilots. Hmm. That's interesting. Emergency preparedness information, total defense, and warning systems are what inside Sweden's war survival guide. Oh, can we look at it? Yes, we can. Let's take a peek. Let's take a peek. I'll throw this thing in the chat room. If you're you guys want to look at it as well. Let's have a look see. If war, if crisis or war comes, I love this. You guys, this is for the next chapter in my life, but I love the idea of just drowning the public in preparedness. I really do. I love it. I think it's where one of the
Starting point is 01:22:38 places, one of the many places where we fail as a nation in a big way. So we've got table of contents, emergency preparedness, total defense. The second chapter in the book is false information. I think there are some Russian links here. What would you do with your everyday labor was turned upside down?
Starting point is 01:23:02 The heat stops working. It becomes difficult to prepare and store food. The shops... Now, here's an interesting thing. The heating stops working. Hmm. The heating stops working. That's number one. Now, I know Belgium
Starting point is 01:23:18 and places close to that Eastern Europe area are supplied gas by Russia. Right? Does anybody in the chat room know if Sweden gets gas from Russia? That's worth checking out. Sweden gas from Russia. How much Europe depends on Russian energy? Europe where we have proposed Russian natural gas pipelines.
Starting point is 01:23:48 Nord Stream pipelines. now a bargaining chip in the transatlantic trade war hmm interesting 2014 that's a little too old Netherlands Netherlands 99 billion in energy imports from all
Starting point is 01:24:07 countries black area represents percentage from Russia yeah so so it looks like Sweden it looks like Sweden is dependent about 50% but says 46% of their natural gas is coming from Russia.
Starting point is 01:24:29 46%. So that's what this document is. That's exactly what this document is. No matter how you want to look at it, this is what happens if Russia goes crazy. Because the first one in here in page four, in page four of this little pamphlet, the first thing, right,
Starting point is 01:24:51 in just a short time your everyday life can become problematic. colon, the heating stops working. Well, we all know what happens when the natural gas gets cut off by the crazy Russians. Here's another one. It's not possible to fill up your car. Public transport and other means of transport are at a standstill. It becomes difficult to obtain medicines and medical equipment. This is the real deal, man. This is very cool. I don't care what you say.
Starting point is 01:25:25 I'm in love with this. I'm in love with this. We should be getting these, man. God, we should be getting these. Look at this great home preparedness tips. These people took what American prepper blogs are doing and turned it into a document that's going to help their kids. I mean, that's going to help their citizens. We've got food, water, warmth, communications, and other.
Starting point is 01:25:54 Right? For food, it says it's important to have extra food at home that provides sufficient calories. Use non-perishable food that can prepare quickly, requires little water, without preparation, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, eggs, bread with a long shelf life, cheese spread, oat milk, soy milk, milk, milk powder, cooking oil, hard cheese, pre-cooked lentils, beans, vegetables, and tins. Tins of bullagnes sauce, macrol, sardines, ravioli, salmon balls, boiled meat, soup, coffee tea, chocolate. Water, bottles, buckets with lids, plastic bottles to freeze water in, mineral water, Jerry hands.
Starting point is 01:26:35 Let's see what they have for communications. A radio powered by batteries or solar cells. A car radio. A list of important telephone numbers. Extra batteries, mobile. I feel like I'm reading a prepper block. Cash in small denominations, wet wipes. You see, our problem just doesn't want to give us a time of day.
Starting point is 01:26:55 That's all there is to it. I mean, this was written by a prepper. Let's be honest. I love the warning systems they have, too. signal seven seconds break 14 seconds Portman public announcement Unbroken signal for 30 seconds means the danger is over
Starting point is 01:27:11 They've got an air raid warning An emergency alarm It's a beautiful thing I guess Sweden's had enough Right They've had enough Wow That's a deep one
Starting point is 01:27:30 They've had enough They're terrified about what could happen with Russia Right Nobody wants to deal with them that. I mean, Russia has a military. There's no getting around it. They have a nuclear military. You know what? It's
Starting point is 01:27:45 not likely. It's not likely that they get into a nuclear exchange with Russia. But what is very likely is that Russia starts bargaining hard and they need to have a game plan. I love that.
Starting point is 01:28:04 God. Listen, I don't, at this juncture in my life, I don't want a boss. But at some point, I'm not going to mind having a boss again, and I think I'm going to get into whatever avenue I need to get into. If it is government, then it's going to be government, and I'm going to go in there, and I'm going to present a plan that's going to really, really focus on getting this message, that message right there to the people of America. That's a big one.
Starting point is 01:28:31 That's a big one for me. I just don't want to do it right now. So let's stay up there. let's stay up there in the world of the once dominant Viking because I have another story from Zero Hedge that's going to blow you away. The Danish minister, right? The Danish minister now says, it's dangerous for all of us
Starting point is 01:29:00 if Muslims work during Ramadan. Yes, if Muslims work during Ramadan, then it's a danger to all of us. When I saw this headline, I said, this is insanity. This can't be real. Let's go to this. Her response now seems prophetic. Who is the name of the radio host here?
Starting point is 01:29:30 Danish Broadcasting Corporation. She created a religious news program. The standard for religious analysis. She has traveled extensively in the Middle East. Who is she? Ivan Tranholm, one of Denmark's most widely red columnist on such matter. was asked if Denmark was on the brink. So a year later in an editorial that drew the fury of progressives in Denmark,
Starting point is 01:29:54 the country's immigration minister said a significant group of refugees, cheats, lies, and abuses our trust to soak the Danish government for additional benefits or to cheat on exams that allowed them to receive asylum. According to the Ingers Stahlberg's editorial, which was published in the Danish BT tabloid, thousands of migrants poses adolescence to receive the additional benefits that the state of Denmark bestows on
Starting point is 01:30:20 unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in the country. However, rather than inciting popular demand to have those loopholes closed, the editorial which she also posted on a Facebook page triggered backlash naturally, right? Nowadays. And now less than a month later,
Starting point is 01:30:40 Stolgeberg has gone one step further, calling for Muslims to take time off work during the fasting period of Ramadan saying the practice is dangerous for all of us. As the local reports, the comments from the Immigration and Integration Minister, a member of the center-right liberal party come after Ramadan, Islam's revered month in which the Muslims around the world fast from dawn till dusk. I want to call on Muslims to take leave from work during the month of Ramadan to avoid negative
Starting point is 01:31:10 consequences for the rest of Danish society. Soljewberg wrote in a column for the BT tabloid. I wonder if a religious order commanding observance to a 1400-year-old pillar of Islam is compatible with the society and labor market that we have in Denmark 2018. Whoa, that's the question, right? I mean, when you get down to the core of the Muslim, the radical Muslim faith, that's the question. I mean, she summed it up perfectly. I wonder if a religious order commanding observance to a 1400-year-old pillar of
Starting point is 01:31:48 Islam is compatible with the society and labor market that we live in in Denmark in 2018. Isn't that the question? When we talk about the Muslim influx, isn't that the question, is this thing compatible with what we're doing in our society in the West? And the resounding answer over and over again, if you're capable of thinking, if you're capable of absorbing the truth and not getting upset. You have to understand that that's the deal, right? She also said that she heard that fasting could affect safety and productivity.
Starting point is 01:32:36 Giving as an example bus drivers who have neither had a drink nor eaten for more than 10 hours. This can be dangerous for us all, she said. On the brink, indeed. Over the last 15 years, the country's tightened its immigration policies insisting that migrants must learn the country's customs and language in order to adapt to the labor market. Hello. Congress. Sweden's got an idea here.
Starting point is 01:33:04 They're insisting that their migrants learn the country's customs and language. I mean, come on. Can we at least get that? Can we at least get the Swedish model? I want the Swedish model. Let's close this thing out. Now I'm getting political cartoons. I mean, uh, not cartoons.
Starting point is 01:33:26 so they might as well be cartoons, political advertisements. Out-preparing says the work is not the issue, it's a clash of cultures with those in power willing to give in for the smallest benefit. Oh man, I fear when these things come to a head. Truly. I fear when these things come to a head, because they will come to a head. ZTA3 asks if they will still get paid even though they're taking off, or even though the woman is proposing that they take off.
Starting point is 01:34:01 It's not necessarily... The story does not necessarily state that the Muslim population wants off for Ramadan. The writer, the reporter is saying take off. Because we don't want the risk. That's what she's saying. And then she's bringing to the table the incompatibility of the cultures. And, you know, it's hard to ignore it. It's hard to not say she's on to something.
Starting point is 01:34:31 if you're not afraid there's a lot of people out there who are afraid to even utter it right because it's so scary it's so scary what could happen if you say something like maybe we're maybe we should think about the fact that the most radical Muslims are not compatible
Starting point is 01:34:53 with our Western society and everything that has built the nation I'll never forget that time when Barack said that Remember when Barack said that it was Muslims. Muslims were part of building this nation or something to that effect? Man, people went crazy. That was one of those wild ones where everybody was like, what is going on?
Starting point is 01:35:22 We validate your culture at the expense of our own for the sake of keeping the peace, quote-unquote, keeping the peace. Well said, Al. Well said. What else do we got? Do we got anything else here? Let me go up to the I.M. Liberty Show website before we call it. I am Liberty Show.com.
Starting point is 01:35:40 Sorry the guest was so short tonight. It just so happened that, you know, that's how things go. He's releasing a book any day now. I've got a new show up, we're relatively new about dead Palestinians, building your web and cross-country prepping. That was a pretty good one. I've got a picture of the MHA Bushcrafter up on my website now. It's up there above the Colga Silver.
Starting point is 01:36:04 So you can go check those two things out if you're interested in those, and you want to see, you know, links to websites, that type of thing. Listen, guys, I've been getting writings for people. Al, thanks so much. I haven't read yours yet, but I'm going to get into it tomorrow. If you're interested in writing for the I Am Liberty Show website, if you just have something, you want to get off your chest, and you want there to be an audience to read it.
Starting point is 01:36:32 I've been there, man. I was there. You know, that's why I started a blog. Because I had stuff on my chest and I had ideas and things like that. And I said, you know, I got to get this stuff out. And for years, I got it out to about 10 people. You know, but it felt good. You know, I remember doing this podcast when it would get five downloads.
Starting point is 01:36:55 Not this one in particular, but my first one, doing the I Am Liberty Show. But I can't tell you how good it felt. Because I'd turn the mic off and I'd say, man, just this weight would be lifted off me. So if you have something you want to write about and you don't have a place to put it, and just contact me. You know, contact me. I've got a sheet at the bottom of the website. You just put your name, email, subject, tell me what you want to write about.
Starting point is 01:37:23 As long as it's not terrible, we're going to post it. You know, as long as it's not something that's going to, you know, call into question what the I. I.M. Liberty Show is about it. Here's my only guideline. My only guideline is strong communities, healthy Americans, dynamic. lifestyles and self-sufficiency. If you use one of those four pillars is a good chance it's going to get put up. I mean, that's just how it goes. All right, let's do a little shameless promotion and then I'm out of here. I'm getting tired.
Starting point is 01:37:54 The eyes are getting heavy. I don't have much more value to add to your evening. I've covered everything on my list here. The contest winner will be contacted before the end of the week. I'm not exactly sure how to find out who the winner is. Because it's the first time I use this software. So the Liberty Gazette is the newsletter. The Liberty Gazette. You can sign up for it at the website, right? Completely free, whatever.
Starting point is 01:38:22 You get about three to four a month. I'm trying to do one a week. I started doing once every two weeks, but I'm trying to do one a week now that I have a decent list growing. I'd love for you to join the newsletter. All right. All of these giveaways are going to be highlighted in the newsletter. So if you join up,
Starting point is 01:38:41 and you're going to get much more information about them than just, you know, the dopey host saying, oh, we're doing a giveaway. I forget what it is, but it's cool. And I'll put a link in the chat room so you can go sign up. Don't go through all that. Sign up for the newsletter. The giveaways will come in the newsletter. All right.
Starting point is 01:38:57 And there's going to be a lot of them and there's going to be a lot of cool ones because I've only got so much space. All right, I don't have a big house. Eventually, I'm going to be overflowing with gear. and there's one group of people that I want to have that gear for free, and it's you guys listening. Social media stuff, Facebook.com slash I Am Liberty Show. You can follow me on Twitter at I Am Liberty Show. If you haven't gone to the website and taken on these free reports, please do it.
Starting point is 01:39:31 All right, I got new landing pages from MailChimp. They look great. They work well. Keys to building community, the 10-page report, and learn the basics of how to start a community garden and bring your neighborhood together. I mean, these things, as silly as they sound, they make a huge difference. Never forget, we talk about prepping, right? We talk about school shootings, we talk about Second Amendment,
Starting point is 01:39:58 we talk about a lot of things that fit a certain mold, right? They fit a certain kind of mold. But never forget that the I Am Liberty show is way up. outside of a mold. All right. It's way outside. I don't have a bunch of people that I sit around a conference room with
Starting point is 01:40:19 and say, what are we going to talk about this week, Jims? You know what? I want you to get behind this idea. I want you to talk about this. We need to stay within these parameters in order to focus our demographic and make sure that we're touching
Starting point is 01:40:31 on the right amount of people and the right type of people. You know, because the people in the prep or demographic are this age to this age. I don't care. The podcast is always going to come the way it comes.
Starting point is 01:40:41 Who I hook is who I hook. is who I hook. You know, so that means we're going to talk about the things that I want to talk about, but we're always going to focus on the four pillars of the I Am Liberty Show, and we'll go beyond that either. You're always going to get my real opinion. You know, even in these reviews, you're going to get my real opinion. Outside of that, I don't know outside of that.
Starting point is 01:41:10 Outside of that, I think it's time to go to bed. It's been a rough week. I'm playing catch-up. because my flight from Utah was from 11.30 p.m. to 6.30 a.m. And there was no sleep to be had. I wound up watching the Phantom of Thread, but I only got through about a half of it. But it was so good. Oh!
Starting point is 01:41:34 Daniel Day Lewis is unbelievable. But anyway, I get on my next flight from 9.30 to 11 back to Richmond, and, you know, I've been playing catch-up ever since. So I thank you. I hope you guys enjoyed the guest. Please check out thesecuredag.com. You're going to love it. I'm telling you, I wasn't buttering this guy's toast.
Starting point is 01:41:58 It's a great site. The content is great. And it's because the dude is passionate. You know, it's just like this. Neither of us are, I'm no professional prep or I'm no ex-military. I have no background in this stuff. But I've been into it for years. and now I get deeper into it.
Starting point is 01:42:17 You know what I mean? I get deeper and deeper into it as time goes on. Now that I write in the genre, I'm always in it. And things are constantly improving. And, you know, that's the deal. That's the deal. We're living in a time where Dutchman says, you're young, suck it up, Cuffcake.
Starting point is 01:42:43 You're right. I mean, you are right. If I had to, it wouldn't be a problem. Let me make that clear, right? If I had to, it wouldn't be a problem. But I don't have to. So I'm not going to struggle through another day without sleep. But that's funny, and I do appreciate that, Dutchman. But we're looking at, this is what we're looking at.
Starting point is 01:43:07 A new time in America where people who are smart and savvy and passionate are going to figure out how to make a living doing what they want, despite what they've been trained to do, despite what they went to school to do, despite what they're supposed to be doing. And I'm an example of that. And Andy's an example of that. And I'm sure there's people out there listening to that show who are an example of that.
Starting point is 01:43:32 And if it looks like you guys want to learn about that kind of stuff, we can go and learn about that. I mean, that can become a part of this show. I can provide you with all sorts of ideas and content and trainings exactly how you decide one day I want to make wood cabinets I like to woodwork I don't like to sell insurance I like to make
Starting point is 01:43:54 wooden cabinets and that's what I want to do there's a way there is a way and we'll talk about it all right what do we doing next week next week we have the guys from
Starting point is 01:44:07 bunker days on I forgot yeah those are the guys who got me out to prep or con to begin with I brought Bunker Days up, but I don't think I ever had them on the show yet. They're going to be on next week. We're going to talk about social media. We're going to talk about what Bunker Days can do for you because it's awesome. Bunker Days is an awesome community that's going to take shape probably within the next year.
Starting point is 01:44:33 It's an online community for Preppers, survivalist, self-reliant people in general. You hang out in little places called bunkers, you know, and the various people. bunkers are named after different types of criteria and topics within the prepping game. And you share information, you share stories, you post, you, it's essentially like social media, but there are more things and more benefits to joining. Currently, it's free to join. I think it's going to be free for quite a long time. They have an awesome online inventory system.
Starting point is 01:45:12 And I'll be honest with you. And this is what I'll leave you with. when I read that they have an online inventory system, I said, nobody's going to buy that. I'm not putting my stuff on your online inventory system. I don't like the sound of it. That's just one of many benefits that they have. The response I got from one of the men at Bunker Days,
Starting point is 01:45:34 one of the owners, blew my mind. And I want you to hear it, and I want you to hear it from his lips next week. Okay, because it's going to change your mind about what you think. or it's really going to make you think differently about OPSEC, right, about operational security and how good a job you think you're doing. All right. So let's get together again in a week and have ourselves a show.
Starting point is 01:46:03 All right. Until then. Until then. It's James Walton with the I. I'm Liberty show. See you next time. Today's broadcast has come to you through the courtesy of the Prepper Broadcasting Network. See our hosts, show schedules, archived programs, and more at Prepper Broadcasting.com.
Starting point is 01:47:13 Thanks for listening.
