Hello everyone out there in internet radio land, this is Dave Jones the NBC guy.
I'm coming to you with the prepper tip of the day and it is emergency fund.
What do you have in your emergency fund? How much cash do you have on hand right now?
Right now.
And, you know, coming up with the anniversary of 9-11,
when everything was shut down, Wall Street closed,
the stock market dropped 1,000 points,
and back then 1,000 points was a lot.
ATMs, you know, how much cash do you have on hand right now?
Now, you know, Dave Ramsey, I'm a big fan of Dave Ramsey.
He says 1,000 bucks.
But, you know, with inflation eating on our dollar every day,
$1,000 isn't much.
Isn't much.
You need to have cash on hand and in your wallet.
In the back corner of your wallet,
I put between $200 and $300 in 50s and 100s.
And it's because you pull out a 50 and flash it in front of someone,
they're going to do what you want them to do.
Okay?
$20 bills ain't what $20 bills used to be.
So you got to adjust your emergency fund.
What if tomorrow the ATMs just stop?
How much cash do you want to have on hand
when they're only accepting cash?
Okay?
That's your emergency fund
and that is your prepper tip for the day.
