What if I told you that you could plan a fun, memorable date night at any price point?
Well, that is what we're going to do.
And there are 23 creative date night ideas that are tried and true for any budget level.
So be sure to like, subscribe, and share this episode with a friend.
All right, so at Ramsey, we have the seven baby steps.
So it's everything from saving up an emergency fund, getting out of debt, saving for your kids' college, paying off your house, like all the way through.
Seven steps.
And depending on which step you're on, kind of depends on the...
budget that you have. So each baby step, or a couple of them together even, if you're on these
steps, here are some date night ideas. So baby step one, this is the very first step, and you're
trying to save $1,000. And this is free date nights for you people. You're on this step. We're not
going to spend any money because all of our effort is going to being able to put some money away
to have an emergency fund. So we're not going to be spending money. We're going to be saving.
So some free date night ideas. A picnic in the park.
with some homemade sandwiches, you know, something you make at home.
Movie night at home with popcorn from the pantry.
It's beautiful. It's great.
Game nights with a deck of cards or your favorite board game.
I love a good day night.
Stargazing in the backyard with some hot chocolate and like a quilt and you just enjoy.
Okay.
And the thing about these dates are they are simple, they are free, and they're actually very bonding.
Like when you actually engage each other, whether it's on a game,
You know, or you're trying to find the star thing in the sky, the consolation or whatever it's called.
It's very engaging.
It's very fun.
It's very fun.
So you can still have fun.
I promise.
Baby Step one.
Still date.
Make them free and have fun.
Baby Step two, dates under $20.
So baby step two, you're getting out of debt.
So all of our income, we're doing as much as we can to get out of debt.
But if you got a little bit here or there and you want to spend a small amount on a date night, here's some ideas.
go on a walk with conversation cards like Dr. John Deloney has questions for humans and they're great.
I'll put a link down below for them because this is great. This is like fun conversation.
It gives you like a little something to go back to and you learn new stuff about, you know, your significant other and they're awesome.
But you pay for them. So we're going to put them in this category.
Next, go to a used bookstore and pick something out for each other. I love to read my husband Winston.
And he's like, he's okay with reading.
It's fine.
But sometimes those used bookstores have like other things.
I don't know.
There's something fun about buying something that you think the other person's going to like.
Doesn't have to be expensive.
Trade it.
Next, take a walk in the park or a local trail and then treat yourself to ice cream after.
So have a little fun.
Get out there and exercise.
Meet each other at happy hour and you can split drinks in an appetizer.
So this is great.
If you go to a great happy hour, you really can get a great deal.
Like you can get a big appetizer, split it.
each get a drink, and it kind of scratches the edge of going to a restaurant.
All right, baby step three, this is once you're out of debt,
and now you're saving up three to six months of expenses in your fully funded emergency fund.
But you're still trying to be intense, okay?
But this one, if you want to loosen the purse strings a little bit on this step for a date-night, you can.
So we'll go to $50 for this one.
Okay, so on this one, I would say, catch a matinee movie.
Now, depending on where you live, depending on how much movies cost, maybe a night movie,
but those are more expensive.
So you really do get some dollars off during the day, but going to the movies during the day, it's awesome.
And then if you have 10 extra bucks to splurge on some popcorn, do that too.
I would say watch live music and grab dinner at a food truck.
So a lot of places, a lot of cities do some great music around the city, and then there'll be some, like, you know, restaurants that have food trucks out.
And you can enjoy it.
But it's not like you're sitting down at a restaurant and tipping and, like, paying for a lot.
You kind of cut corners on that, but it saves you money.
And next one would be grab a fancy coffee and walk around a museum or an art gallery.
You could also go to a boogey restaurant and just order dessert.
So this is a great way again to kind of scratch the itch of going out.
We're like, okay, yeah, we'll just like get the dessert and maybe like a decaf coffee with it.
And that'll be great.
50 bucks.
Wonderful.
Now, most of us don't realize how much of our information is online.
And it's not just your name.
It can be your address, your past.
addresses, your relatives info, I mean, the list goes on. And this is why I love and use Delete
Me, because data brokers collect that information, they package it, and then post it on dozens
of sites, which means anyone can look it up. Now, delete me steps in and finds your information
that's being shared and removes it. Plus, they constantly monitor everything for you because
these sites repopulate your data over time. But when your personal details are harder to find, it makes you
harder to target. Delete me makes it easy to limit and remove extra info about you online and your
family online. So get 20% off an annual plan at joined deleteme.com slash Rachel, which checks out to be
just about $9 a month. That is so worth it. So that's join delete me.com slash Rachel. And with the
New Year's chaos behind us, now is the time to get your finances in order. And Fairwind's credit union
is there to help you do this the right way. Their smart checking is a
simple and straightforward plan that keeps you on track. And their smart savings celebrates good
habits. So when you see that your money is working for you, it's easy to stay motivated.
And don't get me started on the Be Weird debit card because I love it so much. So having
banking tools that align with your values matters. So go to fair wins.org slash Ramsey to check
it all out. Everything that we've talked about, you guys, it is so great. So for the new year for
26, make sure to sign up for Fairwind Smart bundle. You will not regret it. I'll put a link down below.
All right, Baby Step 4, dates under $100. So when you're on Babyset 4 now, you're out of debt,
you have a fully funded emergency fund, and now you're just saving for retirement. So you've got
some money to spend. So sign up for a dance class or a pottery session together.
There's actually something about doing an experience together that studies show is way more bonding
than just like going to a movie. So dance classes. Ah, so fun.
Take a road trip to a nearby city.
So, for instance, I'm in Nashville.
You go to Chattanooga for the day and come back.
But, like, explore some cities around you.
Go on a double date night with friends to a great new restaurant.
So those are some ways to spend $100.
Now, if you're on babysaps five and six, meaning that you are saving up for your kids' college
and or paying your house off early, which, side note, you do babysaps four or five and six together,
but we kind of broke these up in this order.
When you were doing this, again, you got some more money.
So $2 to $400.
You got that to spend on a date night.
It's going to be good.
So you can splurge on the babysitter and have a quality date night out.
Like go get drinks, appetizers, dinner.
It's great.
You could also do a weekend staycation in your city.
So you can use that money and even stay overnight somewhere.
You could go shopping at your favorite store and buy each other a treat.
You could do a wine tasting or a spa day.
So a lot of experiences in this one.
All right.
Baby step seven, $500 plus, meaning even more.
You can spend even more because when you're on baby step seven,
you have paid off all of your debt.
You have a fully funded emergency fund and you have margin to spend.
Get great seats at a concert and actually go all out that night.
You could book a chef's tasting at a fancy restaurant,
so they'll have like a special menu for that or even a special table that you can go and like get all prepared.
Or next, maybe you go on a little longer getaway.
And in 2025, Ramsey did their first live like no one else.
Cruise.
And you guys, it was so fun.
We're doing it again.
That's right.
We are spending March 14th through the 21st of 2027 in the Caribbean.
And we're going to party.
It's going to be so fun.
Honestly, if you are past Baby Steps 1, 2, and 3, and you're on 4 plus, you are invited.
Because those of you on baby steps, 1, 2, and 3, stay the course.
Get out of debt.
You know, get your emergency fund.
But if you're past that and you want to live like no one else, make sure to check it out.
You can book your cabin today and save up to $200 online only if you go to ramsysolutions.com
slash cruise or you can click the link down below because spots are filling up.
And you guys, this is such a fun week.
So make sure to check it out.
All right.
So the last thing that you can do together is a way to be outrageously generous.
So when you think about like a mission trip or an active generosity that you can do together,
There's something really bonding when you're in Baby Step 7,
and you have the ability to give beyond what you could imagine.
And when you're doing that together with your significant other,
there's something so powerful about it that together you're on the same page
and your values align in that, and it's beautiful.
So that's something else, Baby Step 7ers that you can do together.
Now, whether or not you decide to try out all these date-night ideas,
you definitely want to check out my episode,
the three best marriage tips we've ever received.

and create a life you love.
