The other day, we were all laughing at the office because someone on our team confessed that
she impulse purchased a narwhal neck pillow in the checkout just because it was on sale.
So, listen, it was so funny because we all started coming up with ideas of, like, things that we
bought just because they were on sale, and it was epic.
So I decided then to ask some of you guys your craziest sale purchases and you delivered.
So before we jump in, make sure to like, subscribe, and share this episode with a friend.
Okay, this is a real thing, you guys.
When you see something on sale, it is so natural.
I'd be like, oh my gosh, it's a good deal.
So I might as well just take it, right?
Even though I probably don't need it and it's unnecessary, I still want it.
So here are some of the things that you guys mentioned that you bought on sale that you really didn't need.
This first person said a full stash of beach equipment that we only used twice a year.
Oh my gosh, we've done that so many times.
And we've ended up, we left like a whole thing of sand toys.
I remember we bought a whole thing of sand toys and left it at the rental house that we were in.
back home and I was like, dad gummit, but I was like, oh, so I get it, totally get it.
All right.
Number two was a year-long membership to chess.com that this person used for a week and gave up.
Yeah.
I did that on a workout app once.
I was like, oh, yeah, I'm totally going to work out with this app.
And I did the yearly subscription because it was cheaper and I thought I was saving money.
So I was like, look at this.
It's a great deal.
It's a great deal.
$99 and used it maybe twice.
That hurts.
All right.
Number three, someone said that they bought a $75 hair tool, but they literally just wear
their hair in a bun every day.
I know, but you have, like, such great motivation, though.
You're like, look at this.
This ain't going to help me do something different, and you never do.
I get it.
Number four was a Ralph Lauren leather jacket marked down from $450 to $99, but only wore it
once.
Yeah, I get that.
Number five, a breakfast sandwich maker that you can 100% use appliances.
You already have to make these breakfast sandwiches.
But this person said, I felt like I needed this exact one.
And we did that.
What did I have?
I got something, like a cassidia maker or something.
I did this exact same thing.
And I was like, we make casidias all the time.
This will be so easy.
And then literally never use it because the frying pan's already out.
And I'm like, why would I dirty up something that is like way more complicated?
Okay, so more of this list later.
because believe me, you don't want to miss the pack of boxer briefs that is coming up next.
But first, I do want to tell you about one of our amazing sponsors, delete me.

And it's your name, your address, your email, even your kids' names that are out there on sketchy data broker websites.
And then those data brokers collect your data, sell it, and then it puts you at risk for scams and fraud.
but the good news is that Delete Me removes your data to help protect you from fishing, harassment, and other online threats.

All right.
Number six, sky high, bright coral heels.
The customer beside me was like, oh my gosh, these would look so great in your closet.
Man, I had some crazy heels.
That was the thing, though.
I feel like that was kind of in style, was like really loud shoes.
Like, it's like this, like, color.
So I get it.
I have turquoise in my closet currently.
Okay, number seven made me laugh.
A hello kitty knockoff Rumba vacuum at T.J. Max.
God love T.J. Max. You never know what's going to happen. In fact that it's a Hello Kitty knockoff Rumba vacuum. Even better. Number eight was a puppy because it was only $450. Oh my gosh. I don't think I could ever impulse a puppy because it was on sale. Too much responsibility. That's a lot. Number nine, the massage recliners that you see at them all. I think we all wanted one of those. Number 10, the exercise bike that we bought on sale is now a towel hanger. Oh.
Doesn't that hurt. And that's like a, that's an expensive thing too. That's expensive. And then it ends up just sitting there. Number 11, kids clothes and a bigger size for next season. Oh, I have done this so many times because you go to Target and you're like, look how cute. And it's like all like, it's like on a $5 rack or something. Like, well, they can wear this next year. And then you have no clue where it goes and you never end up using it. All right. Number 12. A jumbo pack of boxers 45. So I only have to do laundry once a month.
college. You know what? I always say it's pretty smart. I mean, you know, I mean, if it's cheap,
sure, why not? Oh, man, you guys. Okay. So obviously we know just because something's on sale
doesn't mean you actually need it, even though we all impulse by. Like, we do it all the time,
you guys, and our money, our hard-earned money just leaves. And in the moment, we think it's such a
great idea. And then it's not. So that's why I always like to say, you know, just sleep on it.
And the Hello Kitty Roomba vacuum will probably still be there, Tjee,
the next day if you really still want it. But so much of our emotions drive this. And so remember,
if you were needing something and it was on sale, that's awesome. How great. But if it just occurred
to you that you might need this random item, just say no. Trust me. And now, if you have a budget,
that is really going to help you. And if you don't have a budget, make sure to check out every
dollar because it's our budgeting app. And it does help you basically give you permission to
spend. We're like, okay, I have money here. And if something is on sale and you're like, okay,
you know, maybe, and if you have the money and you're kind of thinking about it, maybe you sleep on it,
you come back to it, the money's there. But the budget really is the best guide to that. So I'll put a
link down below for you to check out every dollar. But unfortunately, aspirational spending doesn't
just stop at the sale aisle. So make sure to check out why I'll be happy when is a lie.
So you can watch that here or if you're listening on podcast, I'll put a link below.
All right, you guys, remember to take control of your money and create a life you love.
Thank you.
