Starting point is 00:02:24 All right, guys. Let's head into our questions. First one's from Resident Z. What a good three episodes to end on. How do you feel about the game so far in season two? I was surprised of the scale of the first two games of the season. Also, RIP Tata. You've got to hand it to him.
Starting point is 00:02:48 He ended up being the MVP episode three. He did. Yeah. Yeah, I feel really bad. I think this season is definitely a change in type of game, but also a bit of a change of pace. The first season obviously had us establishing who our characters were. We had our hearts devastated in episode three.
Starting point is 00:03:12 And then the middle chunk of episodes was about kind of rebuilding our cell back up. And the last chunk of it was us being at the beach and then establishing the rules and players at the beach. And now the characters we've met there are now. are primary players in season two so because the structure of the show was established in season one we now have room for still a show with games but it feels more like an ensemble um i mean yeah because the the middle to last chunk felt like it was rsos show and then our home girl clamor girl came along and then the last chunk of it built the three i guess this this this for
Starting point is 00:03:57 first half of the season is really taking us out of Aerosl's perspective, or this first chunk of the season is really taking us out of his perspective. And giving us the perspective of everybody else, like, in more detail and giving us all their backstories
Starting point is 00:04:12 and everything. And it feels a lot more I won't say intentional. But, like, we're talking a lot about purpose and morality and our heart. And we're really diving in deeper. coupled with these different types of games, which I really appreciate. And, yeah, I'm comparing the first three episodes of season one, season two.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Obviously, you know, very different kind of experience thus far because we are now in the thick of it. So the shock of it is, it's still sad, but it's not the jolt to your system that it was in season one. But, yeah, I can say that I'm still enjoying it. I thought it was interesting that this third episode was the longest of, this season so far and it took us away from our our group of characters to focus on the the blonde dude and give him his own storyline that took a whole majority of this episode or a little over half of it so that was a little surprising but yeah I'm very much endeared to our characters now RIP Tata you were the best and I like to see seeing your backstory and I like
Starting point is 00:05:20 seeing the band's backstory I like getting to know them a bit and they got us to care about them It's just a short amount of time, and I really appreciate that. And I hope that, you know, we get reunited with our cop lady and who's, you know, joining the Fast and Furious cast after she gets out of here. And I'm happy we get to spend some time with the blonde dude because he was great. But, yeah, how'd you feel? Yeah, I think I was surprised at the scale, too, because right at the top, it's the most savage game we've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:05:54 It's just a massacre. Yeah. Right. We've got Darth Vader and he's just shooting whoever he wants. And then we learn, you know, in the second game with our band that like a lot of the theme of, of that was like you make your own rules. Yeah. Like you follow your own destiny, make your own rules. And we're seeing that now with our blonde guy where it's like that whole game that they're in right now, you do make your own rules.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Are you going to lie or not? Yeah. Who do you trust? Right. And so I wonder if that theme is going to continue because it was such a. strong theme between Erisou and the band guy, that that came up multiple times. It was like, you can't convince people to follow you.
Starting point is 00:06:34 They'll just come to you. You make your own way. Like, it was a lot about, like, you pave your own path here. And I'm really curious how that will sort of continue throughout this next season. And I do think that the games have been what they, shown is a little bit more savage, meaning our characters, Erisou, and the other, all of our other ones, Arisu almost had to kill the douche-a-rama guy, right, who was going to hurt our climber girl. And I don't know if before he would have, like, really had that, like, rage.
Starting point is 00:07:18 There's different things that are coming out, like, Tata. He was frozen in fear at that pole, and then he kind of. kind of had a flashback because he was having a panic attack had a panic attack same way under the car he's sweating car falls on guy and then he decides like how am i gonna sort of like redeem myself from that moment and obviously he does but the only reason he did redeem himself because erasu gave him joy and i really love that like i love that erasu is constantly like I'll die for you, but also, like, when he thinks that they will, he's always giving them, like, little bits of joy.
Starting point is 00:07:59 And that's such a strong leading character to have in such a dark TV show. Yeah. Because it is so dark here. I mean, savage to have Darth Vader coming up, it's a freaking massacre. There are no rules. And then it's, like, thank goodness, we have Erisou, like, figures it out of, like, well, the Kings is going to be a harder game, but we may find out more. information and that information may help us on the run of like making making your own rules can't
Starting point is 00:08:29 convince people to follow you they'll come if they want to i'm trying to read into all of that in this new game that we're playing there at the very end and with him saying well i'm screwed and i'm like no he can't die how do we get out of this i don't know but um i do agree that tato was definitely the MVP here. And great performances by all of them. And I was really glad that we did get to see the band, like the band playing. The band was great. I love the band.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Yeah. And the fact that the lead guy, you know, I forget his name, you know, the Jesus nude guy, was he was very forthcoming about like the game and wanting to get everything that he could out of Erisou. And it was just so surprising, not really surprising, but at the end, he said, we've always been friends or we've been friends the whole time. And I believed him. Like, I think that that was genuine. He said that knowing he was going to die. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And it makes me think, this is me, I watched too much reality, but I do watch the, I did watch Physical 100. that's a Japanese show and I am watching a final draft it's another whatever they're like very kind to each other I constantly say this where I'm like in Japan they're thanking each other they're nice to each other in the USA we are savage so I liked sort of seeing that at the end that he was like we've always been friends and and and them being very thankful and Aresu thanking his friend for giving him joy I love of these little bits of happiness that they're kind of giving in this dim dim light yeah no i think they're the way this show plays with with hope and camaraderie and leadership and friendship is all very um not only intentional but you really feel it's very very heartfelt and yeah it is that sort of cultural difference that we experience here in america and i appreciate it for that you know we we get to see it in a way that is i don't know maybe not totally um involved in our culture and what it is it's i don't know it's expressed in a different way so i i do
Starting point is 00:11:03 appreciate it for that but yeah the games in this season are really fascinating because they are a bit slower pace you know people are dying but they're not to the same degree in the same style that they were in the first games of the first season because yeah it was they were more confined there was a higher emphasis on on doing it quickly
Starting point is 00:11:28 and you had to think on your feet whereas this one it's more about slow strategy so far I don't really know exactly what the game is of that first one where there's a massacre I guess just like run and hide and I have to imagine eventually we're going to go back to that
Starting point is 00:11:44 because it was very scary but yeah i'm curious to know how they win exactly because they don't get card suits like they did in last season so yeah that's going to be very very interesting as to how we go about that where is our cop girl you know she's she's somewhere out there playing some kind of game and i really hope for their sakes we discover what this is a about or at least get some sort of closer or somewhere closer to it because yeah they think they deserve answers for their friends and people they fought for along the way even if there is no more real world i hope that we find a way to resolve this that is satisfying and i hope that you know arsou and our clamor girl get to finally embrace each other because yeah they're both
Starting point is 00:12:44 people in pain they both people that have experienced a lot of loss but they keep each other going they push each other and pick each other up when they're in low moments of of low resolve and i like that you know these people meeting in this weird wasteland post-apocalyptic like sadistic a game they'll have to play in but it's the bonds that keep us going and the fact that air is come so far from that first season that first episode really and you see it they replay it in this this first episode here of season two how he was playing the game and you know callously just murdering people left and right and now he's on the other end of that and you know he was a coward when the show started not knowing if you can do anything about his friends and now he's entering a
Starting point is 00:13:36 position of leadership which is is beautiful granted it's not the circumstance in which anyone would like that to happen but you know i think that way that this writing has unfolded has made that extremely believable and i'm happy that we get to see that journey um yeah i'm i'm i want to know more about the the game makers overall and like mirro and like why she's doing this do they keep referencing the fact that they might think it's aliens but i don't know i kind of doubt that it's aliens but we'll see we'll see what happens uh do you think you think his family's still alive somewhere his brother and his dad are in this world still maybe i mean i'm hoping her i'm hoping our clamor girl's dad's still alive oh yeah that's just been a wound for her from from the jumps
Starting point is 00:14:28 we got to know her yeah and yeah i think she deserves some sort of resolution there at least you know to to come to peace with whatever it is that's happened i think she deserves that at the at least yeah i would agree with that i think in this now that we are on to the face cards i don't know that they win i think it's a life or death you win if you keep your life you you lose if you die um i think that's where we're at now and then obviously when you when you beat the game um then that you know the blimp explodes or whatever um but Yeah, now thinking about it, it's not like a card situation now.
Starting point is 00:15:14 It's like life or death, kind of like what the band member was also reminding us. It's like it's life or death now. Reject Nation at the start of this year, I was sitting over 20% body fat, 218 pounds of his end of January as of a couple weeks ago. Finally took the photos I've been talking about it all year. I completed the mission. Six pack abs came in, 8% body fat, 170. pounds you can check out all the transformations on instagram but that's not why i'm here today i'm here today to tell you that a big part of how i accomplished that journey was about staying consistent with my nutrition and the best way to do this is by keeping things simple like having a hughal black edition ready to drink a complete meal in a bottle have these a couple times a week
Starting point is 00:15:59 that first crack it's always amazing it's a full meal in a bottle packed with 40 grams of protein 27 vitamins and minerals slow release carbs low sugar no prep no clean up just shake it and go i've got a fridge full of these we got three fridges and they're all full of them i'd like to grab them on shoot days gym days or i'm just too damn tired to cook which is an often gregg thing but more importantly they taste good chocolate and vanilla classics are my go-toes smooth taste like actual milkshake but they got a whole bunch of other flavors you can catch on their website plus it's under three bucks a meal which has helped my gains and my budget so recheck nation if you're ready to support your health and help support the channel in a way you can go to Huell.com slash rejects.
Starting point is 00:16:41 New customers get 15% off, plus a free gift with code rejects at Huel.com slash rejects. Minimum $75 purchase applies. Skip the stress, not due nutrition. Try Huel today for complete nutrition. Well time, Greg, bottled. Yeah, in this weird way,
Starting point is 00:16:56 they've allowed our characters to gain this greater appreciation for life because Arsso was kind of just kind of not numbing his way through life, but he was gaming. He's engaging in a lot of escapism with drinking with his friends and playing video games and skipping out on job interviews. And now he is put in a position where not only he's not in the, they want him to have some
Starting point is 00:17:23 sense of ambition, right? And I would say that desire of his family to have ambitions been replaced for, replaced with necessary leadership. And that's great. And I don't know how any, if they do get back to the world. world, how any of them will cope with that because I feel like I feel like if they were given an opportunity
Starting point is 00:17:45 to go back to the world world, they would reject it and want to go back to the games because that's where they feel the most themselves because they said that this game, someone who said some variation of this game like makes them honest, it's like who they really are and it's exposed them for that.
Starting point is 00:18:01 And yeah, you see that in all cases, you know, you get someone like Tata getting to really showcase his his altruism and also with his leadership and even on the flip side of that you get the freaking psycho who tried to assault the girl again in this season and you know for some reason he's not only still around but he gets to go off and do some sort of thing I hate that guy but he is an interesting character and foil in this part of the show yeah I think he's a great villain to keep
Starting point is 00:18:35 around so we'll see what the games have in store for them but yeah it's all always a fun and classic having the villains and heroes team up but i like the fact that you know he was a villain the last season and even here even when the face of them having team up he still turns on them and is still proven to be um a piece of shit so real prick yeah so this so far has been great we're only three episodes in we got five episodes down and i'm just excited i'm so excited to see where we go it's good stuff yeah all right j rushden says um This is making him wonder exactly what's real, what's not, and if we have any theories. I would say that I understand what you're saying, like, what's real, what's not.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Maybe more so, like, in this very end of the third thing of like, wait, did he tell him hearts? Is it really hearts? Like that, that's a crazy game. My one theory that I think would be really cool is that if Erisou's dad and his brother is still alive, And he has a way to sort of redeem himself now because he played the gangs, right? They did it. They're like business people. I don't know how they survived, but maybe they did.
Starting point is 00:19:51 But let's say they matched up. They would be like Erosu is the one to save us. And they gave him so much crap. But then also if we add in our villain with the family and I think if the villain came after his family, even though he didn't have. oh this court is the worst i can't um even if he didn't have a great relationship with his family um if the villain came i feel like it would also be another thing like he would definitely kill that villain guy yeah then right and that would be cool you'd be like yeah he's standing up for his family he's my man be like wow we gave him a lot of shit he didn't go to college but
Starting point is 00:20:33 he just saved our life like i would love to see that because i can't kid it's not like they were super mean to him but they kind of were especially in that first episode remember how they were eating dinner and they were like don't don't even look at him he's useless like and then his friends would pop up and help him kind of like come back to life that um i just think i'd be a great turn in the story and then maybe you know if if our climber girl's dad is alive um that would make her you know want to go back or maybe they they both are like yeah it's better if we we stay here because we don't want to go back to the real life of him of of of what the press was saying that he climbed a mountain but he used oxygen but he didn't really and he nobody
Starting point is 00:21:23 believes him right he's like a liar and that's his whole career and now it's just gone because nobody will believe a word he said i'm not surprised that he tried to commit suicide he's like in his own prison so um but it would be really interesting to see if our climber girl gets a little bit of umph back if if her dad was still alive i mean those are my those are my couple of my little theories there hmm pardon me uh it's it's tough right because i want for the character's sake i hope they get to have like lives after this for the audience sake i feel like if they're gonna die no it's not even that like imagine this is all like some like hyper VR experience and nobody actually died right i feel like
Starting point is 00:22:16 that would be like i don't know like a slap in the face i was just like i would be like what i was like what it's almost like cutting to where like this was all a dream exactly you know yeah so i don't know i i i hope it's it's deeper than that yeah I feel like this is really, you know, they go out of their way to show us shots of people dying. And not only people dying, but people dying where our characters are not there to witness those deaths. So why would they show us that if it was not real, you know? I'm just curious as to what the purpose is. The purpose is.
Starting point is 00:22:55 I said one of the theories in what we're watching it is I feel like her dad is either still alive in the games or. Or he is one of the dealers or one of the game masters or one of the kings, you know. I feel like that would be an interesting twist because, you know, you remember the show's gone out of their way to show that you remember somebody one way in the real world, but the experience of Borderland changes them. So maybe her dad's not even the same guy he was that she remembered him being if he is still alive. Maybe, I think the device of this show and what it does to humanity allows us to put our characters in a position who have survived to allow them to change. And it allows the actors to have a sense of versatility, being able to play two different versions of the same character, one before Borderland and one after Borderland. And, you know, someone like Eroso clearly has changed from the beginning to the end and to where we are at this point. And the biggest showcase of that is our lollipop girl and are the guy who with the tattoos from last season.
Starting point is 00:24:07 I think they've changed, they've taken on physical transformations, but also emotional transformations over the course of this journey. And our mysterious blonde guy, I think he's one of the last characters we have yet to see his journey as to who he was before all of this happened. And I'm really excited to see what that tends to be or what that becomes, you know. Like was he even blonde in the world world? Did he do it out here? What was his life before this? And they've intentionally kept him as a mysterious character because as of right now, it serves as us not really knowing how he feels about anything. We just know he's all cerebral.
Starting point is 00:24:51 He's all strategy. And I think that keeps the audience on our toes. but I feel like part of the beauty of this show is allowing us to peel back the layers of who these people are and showcasing them in a complex light because it endears us to our characters and makes us
Starting point is 00:25:07 root for them even in the face of things seeming impossible like you saw us in those first two episodes we're like I don't know how the hell they're getting out of this I truly could not tell you like what way they were going to survive this situation
Starting point is 00:25:23 because it truly felt and possible and you know with the show like this the first the first season's third episode truly showed us nobody is safe anybody can die at any time and they're ruthless and but i think that is also what makes the show interesting and makes the show appealing the the tenacity of the human spirit but also the callousness in which and fragility in which characters can perish so i really appreciate both of those aspects and especially them in tandem and yeah well i'm curious to see who that guy is how he gets out of this situation now in a place where he can't trust anybody in the jack a game and who the actual jack is because yeah like how do you how do you win a game
Starting point is 00:26:15 if you truly can't trust anybody you really put you're literally putting your life not literally but you're putting your life in other people's hands and this is a game about deception and you can't look at your own thing in a reflection, or you die. So, yeah, the writing in this show is A1. They've continued to make interesting ways for the plot to unfold itself. And I hope it's all real. I hope it's all real because it would feel like it's in vain if it's not real. I don't think it'll be fake.
Starting point is 00:26:46 No, I hope not. Yeah, I will just say, the last thing's here, is, yeah, this show's Savage. They take a lot of risks. they'll kill off your favorite characters. I love this show for that. It keeps you on your toes because you're like, we could lose anybody. But also, I think
Starting point is 00:27:02 it's really funny how Aaron was saying, you know, the blonde guy, was he blonde before? Did he do it here? And I love just like, oh, yeah, we're in the middle of games where it's like life or death, but during our visa days, got to go find some blonde die. I'm going to go blonde. Like, I was just thinking about that, like
Starting point is 00:27:17 after he said that, which he said that, like, eight minutes ago. anyway we we love you guys for joining us for this please send us more questions for the next episodes that we're going to watch we love reading your questions and hearing from you guys tell us your thoughts in the comments like what do you think about this show we are truly loving it we're having a lot of fun um it's late here so we got to run but do all the right things leave a like leave a comment we love you see on the next one dooses Thank you.
