Tara Erickson, Coy Jandreau & Aaron Alexander delve into Episode 7: “Emergence” of Alien: Earth, FX's sci-fi horror series created by Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion). This penultimate installment raises the stakes in Earth’s terrifying prequel to the original Alien film, set in 2120. The wardens of power—corporate, human, and alien—are converging, and allegiances are shredded as Prodigy’s secrets combust. “Emergence” culminates in one of the series’ most unforgettable scenes—the brutal chestburster moment. Arthur Sylvia (David Rysdahl) succumbs to the horrifying alien lifecycle in a tragic, deeply emotional release. Meanwhile, Wendy and the hybrids confront the haunting truth of their pasts as they stumble upon graves bearing the real names of The Lost Boys, leading Wendy to an irreversible breaking point. With betrayal, corporate warfare, body horror, and rising urgency, this episode sets the final confrontation up to be one for the ages. are up there so go check it out all right now let's talk alien ass who wants to go first
i go first okay so it was great i think it did a great job of escalating mistakes we got to see
them really in different states of fear the kids you know the the the big one with the mom who
was in danger really to see his panic and then his
friend wound up in the situation.
Also, our poor scientist
guy, man. He just, he was such
a good guy from start to finish, and I'm really
sad to see him go.
You know, I hope that
he gets some sort of
not redemption.
What's the word I'm looking for? Justice.
I hope some of the bad
people die, so
he didn't die in vain
because he deserved better.
And yeah, it's interesting
seeing Wendy come to this point of
you know having to choose between her brother her last remnants of humanity and her newfound love
her son for like a better term in this new xenomorph and we're seeing that we're at this crossroads
between what was important to her and what is now her future what is important to her now
and just the nefariousness of prodigy and the fact that he's now willing to experiment on humans
And so this man needs to be stopped because he has no love for life.
And he just cares about his endless, insatiable hunger for knowledge, curiosity,
and to find the best thing to make him not feel bored.
And that is shitty.
So I look forward to seeing what happens next.
And, yeah, those are my brief thoughts for the time being until we get into conversation.
What was it going to next?
Go ahead, Coy.
How about it?
I think the next bit of super villainy from our Cavalier is going to be two different plot lines coming together where he is blaming the therapist mother for the escape and he's got to put an eyeball in somebody and I think she's about to get caught.
Well, he says you want somebody like dumb so you can compare and contrast.
I think the smart one though.
I think I think she did because like that was the last scene they had together was like him storming out.
And like I remember when Curley was like nurturing.
I was like, this is a wholesome moment.
She's dead in a minute.
I think she bites it next step.
episode. I think she gets eyeballed.
Yeah.
That's my prediction.
But I really loved how, you know, much they endeared us to the one purely wholesome person.
Hermit hasn't messed up yet, but this episode we see, like, where his allegiances are.
It's very tricky.
He, that was his, like, you know, space marine core team that, you know, put him in that spot.
But also he came up with them.
And, like, this is his sister, but not all the way.
And, like, she's also making decisions that he's clearly uncomfortable with with the xenomorph.
um like you know him him stopping her from calling it he's scared of it as he should be it's a xenomorph uh there's a lot of really cool
contradictions here of like where she's going to go what decisions she'll make and uh i'll be curious how
it all lands i do feel like the very end of the season is going to be pretty much everyone dead
and her with a xenomorph going out into the earth i feel like that's gonna last shot wild i think
that's my end of eight prediction end of uh end of this episode prediction is in the first 10 minutes
So the next one, therapist gets eyeballed.
End of 8.
She walks into the earth with the xenomorph render set.
Okay.
I will say that I think it's not going to be the therapist.
I think it's going to be Curly.
Because Curly was the one that couldn't answer the...
What?
Curly synthetic.
She wants a human.
He said that?
Yeah.
He said no wants to put it in a human.
Gosh, dang it.
Never mind, you're right.
Because I was going to say,
because remember how Curly couldn't answer the questions when he asked her?
And she was like, not special.
Oh, that's funny.
His rain automatically went to like, now we can make her worth it.
Oh, that's funny.
Because she was like the least of the, of the synthetics.
Anyway, I really like, I think in this episode, the, like a little bit of the bait and switch with Kersh, like I didn't expect that he had this whole freaking plan.
He had a trap set up, probably knew when the chest was going to burst.
And then when he brings it over, it's like, it's all to catch Morrow.
And I can't, I'm, I love that he is caught.
because I did I did love him two episodes ago like so much fought for him so hard that I convinced
them that like he was maybe that he was like a good guy why I can test it immediately I was like no no
you got me for like 30 seconds I got him for like a minute yeah I was definitely like well you know he was doing
some things yeah he did have a daughter I was so weird rejection at the start of this year I was sitting
over 20% body fat 218 pounds of his end of January as of a couple weeks ago finally took the photos
I've been talking about it all year I completed the mission six pack abs came in 8% body fat 170 pounds
you could check out all the transformations on Instagram but that's not why I'm here today
I'm here today to tell you that a big part of how I accomplished that journey was about staying
consistent with my nutrition and the best way to do this is by keeping things simple like having
a Hewell Black Edition, ready to drink a complete meal in a bottle.
Have these a couple times a week.
That first crack.
It's always amazing.
It's a full meal in a bottle packed with 40 grams of protein.
27 vitamins and minerals, slow release carbs, low sugar, no prep, no cleanup.
Just shake it and go.
I've got a fridge full of these.
We've got three fridges and they're all full of them.
I'd like to grab them on shoot days, gym days.
Or I'm just too damn tired to cook, which is an often Greg thing.
But more importantly, they taste good.
Chocolate and vanilla.
Classics are my go-toes.
Smooth taste like actual milkshake.
But they got a whole bunch of other flavors you can catch on their website.
Plus, it's under three bucks a meal, which has helped my gains and my budget.

nutrition well time Greg bottled it was so bad and now I I'm very happy to see that that he is
caught and I felt that the the two boys gave such a wonderful performance of like the hurt
and you can really hear it in the in his voice of like but what about my mom you know like
and that just it tore my heart out but I loved how Kirsch was like you two are both grounded
because they both need that sort of parent-esque type of feeling in their life
because they're like, they're not busy.
They don't want to be there.
It's like, Kersh is really the only one that has their back
and is probably nice to them.
Like, Cavaliers just, he's cuckoo fricking bananas.
I can't believe how fast his side guy was like,
I'll get a list together of like the people
that we're going to put the eyeball in and kill.
He sucks too.
Like, I know, but I'm just like it's freaking,
it's Wackadoo Wild.
It's insane to me.
But this episode was a lot of fun.
I think I mainly really like.
obviously when she was calling the xenomorph
and it kicks them ass, takes out
all those freaking people. How cool
is that? Also in the beginning
to see the face hugger
it was cool seeing that
up close. Like the practical effects
in this, practical probably mixed with
special effects are just
amazing. Like there's
never a moment where I look at a practical
or special effects in here
that takes me out of it. And that happens
a lot in a lot of stuff that I think
we all watch. And in this
one I am fully there and I'm like oh my god
that xenomorph's going to kill all of them
and I just had a blast
formatting wise I also want to point out
usually on TV the penultimate
episode is the big ending and then the finale
is more of a denouement like more of a
conclusion and a feeling right
I thought it was interesting this episode was shorter
and the next one presumably will be longer
and end in a way and I'm thinking
like just formatting wise that's really interesting to not
have the last episode be short I like this
because now the climax isn't done
and then you wait a week right instead it's like
we're building action and next week
there is a lot of opportunity.
And I think that's a cool thing to do.
Especially with her maybe kind of turning on her brother.
I think that's sad.
What a joke down.
What a cliffhanger for a week.
How cool.
Because, I mean, that's dangerous.
If you're her brother and he just killed,
like NIMS was literally trying to defend
herself against them, but also for you guys.
Like, I don't know why he,
I get it that probably now he thinks it,
Hermit thinks it was a mistake.
But, I mean, the fact that she can call Xenomorph over if she's pissed enough that that could really, like, tear up her brother, man.
Like, Hermit might not be around.
It sucks because the girl that Nibb was going to kill was also someone he had a fondness for.
Yeah, that's the thing.
And he was with that much longer than this new old sister.
That's true.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's just another girl that, you know, that his sister wanted to bring along who was endangering somebody he cared about.
And he wanted to just go.
And also, like, you know, when you serve with people,
I can't imagine the bond that brings you, like, surviving.
Like, they're not just, like, they don't just know each other.
They're, like, Marines together.
Yeah.
So, like, that must be a very hard, like, family,
because she's not even the body of his sister.
Like, that's theoretically just her mind.
But he's been asking that question.
And now it's his other family.
Like, it's a beautiful spot.
I like that that might be the thing that turns her.
Yeah.
That's such a big moment.
And it sucks because NIMS is the only person,
at least within this part of the episode.
but all the kids are the only people that can relate to her and her experience.
Because one, in a way, she kind of semi-raised them in this new life
because she's the one that brought them on
and taught them what it's like to be in these new bodies.
But they're the only people that can relate to her experience
because, yeah, they were like a select few kids, and that sucks.
So I have no idea where the show's going to go.
I'm very curious to see what happens to their relationship.
But something tells me that I getting on this boat together.
It's not going to end happy for them.
Well, luckily, like, the brother did get to go behind the scenes with Arthur and get a little bit of the info in seeing, I don't know if a light just went out.
Anyway, in seeing, like, what they were doing to them and that they're all tracked and he knows that their synth and all of that.
So he got a little more information to her background that maybe Nibbs is so in Lala freaking land that I don't even know she'd be able to explain anything.
So, and remember how sad she was that I'm sort of like, yeah, well, maybe she's in a better place now.
Which is really sad, but she was unwell.
I don't think this is the last we'll see of her.
Even though it looks like she's dead, but we still have the whole thing,
but she believes she's pregnant because the thing tried to, like, get on her.
But she doesn't now because it got wiped.
She doesn't think that, but her body might not know that.
I don't know how that would work, but I don't know.
I'm curious because, you know, you don't just bring something like that up,
that up repetitively for no reason.
Unless they do, but I feel like some are going to come with that.
And she didn't bring it up this episode.
No, because you're just talking about.
Yeah, I know.
Oh, yeah.
I still am like, is it that ectotopic, whatever the word is, like where they make it up in their brain?
Or is it something else?
I guess we'll have to see.
Yeah.
Well, I love the show.
It's such a blast.
Do you guys have any final thoughts you want to tell the people?
No, I'm just excited.
I think the show's been great from start to finish.
And the fact that they were able to pull off an alien-based show around the xenomorphs.
and, you know, synthetics and stuff is really impressive.
So, you know, bowed out and know.
Agreed.
Like, I've really enjoyed the payoff of Kersh.
Like, I really like that we kept wondering where he was.
And we still, one episode left, we think he's team Cavalier because of that trap,
but he could be still Team Kersh.
It's true.
It's true.
Like, his, like, his, my, I think that's my favorite story in this.
Yeah, I agree.
Because you don't know.
We don't know where he lies.
And it's, and he's such a commanding performance with so little dialogue.
I really am intrigued by where, you know, Cavalier,
lands with the eye and all that stuff. So like I, I love the formatting of this eight episodes where
I kept hearing that Noah Hawley wanted to make this season one of however many. It doesn't
feel like a limited series. And I love the choice to have the last episode feel like a finale because
so often I feel like TV is geared towards the penultimate. So I'm really excited for next week.
Yeah, me too. We love you guys. We will see you on the next one.
