More on them in just a bit.
And we're going to have a good old time.
Terra, are you ready?
Yeah.
Rot a bumper.
You guys, if you're watching on Apple,
If you're listening on Spotify, make sure to give us five stars.
Also, a couple of things we didn't say about the top.
Make sure you go to our social medias because we're posting so many cool things over there.
Greg and Roxy are doing so many cool stuff on Instagram, on Snapchat, on the TikTok.
So we got a bunch of cool stuff.
And yeah.
And Rejectnationshop.com, obviously.
Rejectionation.com.
You know the drill, Tara.
We just watched Alien versus Predator.
Yeah.
What did you think of the movie?
That was fun.
That was a lot of fun.
That was a great time.
And we got what the title was, Alien versus Predator.
We got it.
The acid juice came into play.
I appreciate that.
I like that they humanized the predator a little bit more.
He worked with her.
She just, she was a great final girl because I love that she goes, I'm going with you,
you son of a bitch.
She didn't say son of a bitch.
bitch, but she had that vibe.
She implied it.
And he, he turns around and then he teaches her about the acid blood.
I love that in the script, gives her the weapons that she still somehow, a little bit
with the continuity, I'm like, wasn't she hanging on to the thing that jetted them out
with both hands?
Where did the head go?
I don't know, but she had it after.
She flew off of that, that little shed thing, shed thing, no, a sled thing.
Yeah.
And still had the head attached.
Love her for the final girl
I don't understand the continuity of it
I'm not gonna question it
Nope because I had a lot of fun
That's right
It was a good time
It was a great time
Yeah I had so much fun with this movie too
This was a banger from start to finish
Is it the most
To a divorce movie?
No
No, it's alien which is predator
I don't need all that
I don't need strong characters
I don't need a strong engaging
plot. I just need to see
some aliens do some cool shit
and some predators do some cool shit
with the mythology that we know for both
of them. Guess what? That's what
we got. And it was a lot of fun
the way that they were able to merge
those two properties and have
them clash and get all the
2004 action like
we thought we would. I didn't know this
took place in 2004 but after watching
it, it's very 2004 coded, which
I'm not mad at, you know. Give us those
extreme two thousand's slow mo's and the the way that they line up the shots it was great you know
and agreed i really enjoyed explain exploring the mythology of the predators even though i know
or at least from what i've heard that the these movies are not canon to the alien franchise
because it's going to get real weird trying to explain why the why the predators and the aliens
were fighting over 100 years ago when they were made by David like some umteenth years in the
future in covenant but we're not going to address that we're not going to talk about that we're
just going to talk about the goodness that is this movie and it does not disappoint i've heard
talks of this movie for years and have not seen an inkling of it until today and it did not
disappoint i'm so happy i can now finally revel in the goodness with my friends we can say we've seen it
We made this journey.
High five, Tara.
It's so good.
We did.
Let's see that again.
The fact that a chesty came out of the predator, y'all.
Yeah, that was awesome.
And they set that up, and it was really cool.
And we got to see, even after that point, them fight.
I really like getting to see how honorable the predator was.
And the fact that, you know, they had this ritual that they kind of went through.
They almost had, like, this religious aspect to the way that they go within their
Their annual or, or I don't know what the term.
The sacrificial, like century annual fighting and the humans are just the pawn in the game.
And I thought that was cool because with the exception of, not in the exception because the humans are typically the, the cannon fodder or the, essentially the harvesting bank for them to go on their hunt to fight the ultimate being.
and for this predator to now face or be on the side of a human to face these odds because he's the only one left at least what he believes until the very end of the movie I thought that was very cool you know
the enemy of my enemy is my friend and we got to see that in its ultimate form even though you know we're again we're not it's it's not like cinema it's popcorn like slashy fun the predator is definitely outrunning that girl like nine 10 times out of 10 but
That's not the point of the movie.
We're just here to have some fun, and I, by golly, I had some sweet, alien, juicy fun.
Yeah, and I like that they brought back sort of the moral code that we saw with Whalen
of, like, when he goes in, sees his heart is not all right, and then leaves him alone.
Because we called that out, they didn't make it as obvious in the other films saying, like, oh, when, I mean, they kind of did, like, when someone doesn't have a weapon is how we saw it.
the first one. But then it graduated to where they have a bit of a moral code and they really
hammered it down with not killing Wayland right away. Yeah, when they don't have a weapon when
they're pregnant, when they're sick. They don't mess with you. And I like that. I like that a lot
where they really showed us in this. And I agree with you. We didn't need like a huge foundation
from our lead girl of like, I'm not going to complain that this movie didn't have a ton of heart
that I wasn't like, oh my God, please nobody die. It's like I, no, I. No, I.
I didn't really, really care.
Like, oh, I don't want Whalen to die.
I don't want that.
The other guys did I.
It was like, it was fine.
You know what we're here for.
But we weren't, there was, there wasn't a part of it where I, where I needed it.
The way that it was set up with the pacing and the tone of it, I didn't need it.
Because it was just like, we're scientists, we're here, we're already in the jam.
Like, they didn't waste time getting us into it.
Had they wasted time, we brought this note up in the last one, had they wasted a lot of time,
I don't know, at the freaking, the science building talking about them going on this mission
and blah, blah, blah.
And it was a bunch of exposition that we didn't really need.
Then I would have complained.
But we got to it right away, which I appreciate it.
I mean, we set up in the building, sure, but it's five minutes.
That's what we needed.
Talk, get on the road.
And I love that.
Yeah, and even before they showed the predators or the humans interact with the predators directly,
was still us uncovering the
because the thing that
I don't want to say doesn't make Predators to work
or Predator to work, but the thing that this movie
did differently than Predator 2 is that
it's giving us a reveal of sorts of the Predator
even though we're seeing them in space
but to our characters but it's done
via giving us more mythology about them as a whole
by exploring one of these temples
and now that we're talking
the really cool thing I like about this movie,
is that you could go into this movie blind, not having seen any alien or any predators,
and you can still have a lot of fun because it does a good job of establishing the what
you need to know, the basics for both of these properties.
Now, I even think that if you were to watch this first and then go back, I feel like you can
even have a, still have a great time because you're like, oh, no, I know the beginning of this,
and I know the beginning of this.
And watching them come together, it makes so much more sense.
It's like it enriches it.
I feel like each one of those movies build to make it better.
Yeah, I agree with that.
I think that's great, you know?
I think that that's fun.
I know that Ridley Scott is very anti-Alean versus Predator.
And, you know, it's his baby.
And I can definitely get why because he wanted to do some really interesting and different things with the project or with the franchise and, like, have these philosophical questions about God and creation.
And Alien vs. Predator is not concerned with any of that.
just like we're just going to have some good own fights we're going to have some ritualistic war
and we're going to have some rage quits if the predators lose because they're just salty babies
and you know what that's fine by me you know get salty i'm happy the earth is still here
good good on you guys 2004 earth we did it we survived yep um and yeah i had a good time
is there yeah we can either like yeah do you have any other thoughts or do you want to get into facts
or do you want to? Reject Nation.
I never really consider myself a sports guy.
I know so many people who are in this sports.
Some of people who watch this channel are in the sports.
My wife, in the sports.
Sometimes it feels emasculating while she yells at the TV
and I don't know what's going on.
Why that feels emasculating?
That's more to do with me than her, that's for sure.
But anyway, the peer pressure got me to find a way
to find fun with sports.
And if you're looking for a fun and simple way
to get into daily fantasy sports,
let me introduce you to prize picks.
It's America's number one daily fantasy app
with over 5 million active members.
And honestly, it's the only one I've ever used, but for everyone who I know who has used fantasy sports things before
says this is the easiest one they've ever used. My wife included, and the misses is never wrong.
All you do is pick more or less on player stat projections.
Like how many yards your favorite QB? That's not for a quarterback, by the way.
We'll throw, or how many points a star player will score.
You can pick between two and six players, and if you get them right, you win.
Even I can comprehend this, and I'm not the smartest guy.
And like I said, it's easy to get started and it's easy to use.
A lot of emphasis on the easy.
here's one easy example so at the time of recording this we just bet on jordan love jaden reed and joe burrow consulted with john john knows more about sports than me so really this was his decision so let's see if he take this whole operation or if we're filthy rich now great thing if one of your players ever gets injured prize picks has an injury insurance policy i could use some health insurance in my own life so your lineup stay in play rhymes bars baby and if you miss one pick you can still cash out thanks to their unique flex play option it's available in most states including california tech
Texas and Georgia. You can download the Price Picks app today. Use code rejects and get $50 instantly when you play just $5.00. There's a lot of fives in this shoutout. $5, $50, 5 million members. It's like the number 23. But anyway, you don't even have to win to get the bonus. Isn't that awesome? Price Picks, run your game.
Get into Daily Fantasy Sports like this expert over here. I don't know, because we kind of have to, we have to not read the trivia right because so the, so does it really?
us for the sequel right fair yeah i feel like we have to avoid it but i i i i understand what
you're saying where he wouldn't he wouldn't want this but i'm not sure i don't know if you
would know this if he's come out saying like if he hates this movie he did he did he does he hates
it okay all right um okay i it's it's directed
Very differently.
Listen, Alien One is an actual cinematic film with some character shit and feeling and emotional depth and camaraderie between people that you care about.
You care about people who die.
I already stated watching this, I didn't care who died.
Nope.
I got, you know, I didn't want our lead girl to die, but I didn't care that much.
If Ripley had died, I would have screamed.
I would have really felt it.
Now, that's a difference in the filmmaking there
where I can maybe understand why he's like,
this is no, no, thank you.
But this is just a different type of movie.
They're not focusing on that.
They're really just focusing on like,
it's a popcorn flick.
You sit down, you want to see, it's a cool idea.
It's like as if a kid came up with an idea
for a comic book of an alien versus predator
and they did a blueprint and people were like,
this is cool, yeah, make it.
And so they did.
They're like, we don't have to set up, you know,
to make it a really great cinematic film.
Alien is that film, right?
God bless it.
I'm still mad at two.
They don't, or three, they don't bring new back, or no, that's two.
Whatever.
I'm still mad about that, but one gives us all the juice.
This is just a different kind of film,
so it's okay to put it in a completely different category
where it's like a kid had this idea
a director brought it to life
somebody wrote it we don't need
the stuff we just wanted the blueprint
because it looks cool having an alien
fight the predator and it's an
awesome idea to have a chest
to come out of a predator
hell yeah it is end of like that's it
it's just a cool idea it's a cool idea
and I'm thinking because we've gone through so many of these now
we've gone through like what six alien movies
two predators and an alien AVP
Terry do you have like a ranking
I was, as we were talking, I was listening
because two is with newt, right?
Two's with new.
Yeah, so it'll be alien one and two.
I don't know where the other ones fall.
And then probably, probably maybe the first predator
with Arnold, which I really enjoyed.
I'd probably go alien one, two, and then maybe that first predator
because the other aliens ones, right,
I wasn't really in love with it.
I don't think.
I was still mad about the newt thing.
Yeah.
Even though the third one was still with Sigourney, right?
And the weird prison thing.
I didn't hate that one, but I wasn't in love with it.
So I don't know.
If I'm going to like favorite to least favorite at all of these,
I would say Alien 1 is still my favorite.
Alien 2 is right beneath that.
Predator 1 is underneath that one.
Yeah, okay.
So we're rating the same.
Exactly the same on that.
I don't know where the rest of them fall.
I think after Predator 1 for me, it would probably be...
Alien 3.
No.
I put Covenant above Alien 3 for me.
Then AVP.
Then probably Predator 2 and then Prometheus, Alien 3, Alien 4.
Y'all, that's where I'm ready for me.
I will be honest right now.
When he says the words Covenant and Prometheus, and then he says Alien 3, I'm like, we've watched that many.
I don't know the difference.
Okay?
I knew Ripley in the prison, the rest of them, out of my mind.
You guys know how my memory is.
But that means the good one stuck with me,
which is one and two and the first a predator.
The rest of them, I don't know how to rank them.
When he said, and then he goes,
and then what do you say?
Predator 2 was the bad one, right?
I didn't hate Predator 2.
I thought it was okay.
Is that the one we just watched?
That's the one we just watched with Danny Glover.
Yeah, okay.
I didn't hate it
I didn't love it though
I think I didn't love it
I don't know how to rank him
forget about it but
we're the same at the top
I would need to go back
to remember
the differences between three
covenant and Prometheus
because he said those words
and I went
we what we did
we did that
we did that we did that
what did we did that
we did that yep we watched a lot of movies
Hopefully we get to watch a little bit more
I don't know if we're going to watch
Predators and The Predator
and before we get to Romulus
but who knows, I hope so let us know
if you guys want to do this. I am so excited
for Romulus. Terry, do you have any final
thoughts before we close out today? No, love
you guys. Get your Reject Nation shop
shirt, get on it. Good for spooky season. We love
you. We love you. All right, until the next
time you guys, we're out of here.
Thanks.
Thank you.
