That's all the stuff.
Let's get arcane.
all righty g i was quite an episode what did you think
i thought it was a really strong episode as usual
everything's good about it john echo echoing through time i like the idea that jace was
the first established pupil not the first of ever for heimerdinger but in the
show that we have been following they had that moment where they interacted with each other
uh it was this season right he's like yeah was it was it the season there's like he's like
this is my new pupil right yeah that's like the second episode of of this season yeah that's what it was
and now with you get the two pupils across time and then the the old pupils going through
this one journey of being like oh my god this was everything i was warned about this is the
decay and of humanity right here i'm going to lead
as to extinction, whilst on the other side you have echo amplifying his science abilities to
a whole other level, I think is a really cool, like, duality story that they are telling here
between the two different pupils and the journeys that they go on.
That's a really good point, actually, and you're seeing through the two different pupils
in the same episode, almost simultaneously, the beginning and end of the cycle all at once.
you know you're watching as echo from the shards of this you know alternate version of the heist at the very beginning is basically recreating jace's original work as jace sees like the full extent of the devastation talking jama fix something of yeah of all that this can be and uh you know it's it's i'm interested to see how they continue this because obviously you know the contrast of the episode is so sharp in that you have echo certainly going through this bittersweet scenario
of seeing all that could have been finding, you know, this, this, this love, you know, with
powder, you know, the, the fully formed powder. And then on the opposite side of the spectrum,
you know, you've got Jace just living out this horrific nightmare and seeing, yeah, exactly
what Heimerdinger had warned him about. And I love the Heimerdinger in this episode gets to kind
of exist in the middle of it all. Like, he's just having a good time. And he's been here for a while
now. And they're like all kind of scattered, even though obviously Echo and Heimerdinger wind up
been roughly the same place and we're still not quite sure if jace is on the same alternate
dimensional plane or not and i have to imagine that there's got to be some intentional you know
quality to that because you know as little as i know about the lore of wild runes and you know
the greater intricacies of hex tech one thing i've come to understand is like these forces have
their own will sometimes and uh i think that'll be fascinating to see kind of expand and
And two, I mean, you know, this figure that keeps appearing to Jace at these very important, crucial times and, you know, both saving his ass in many ways and enlightening him in other more metaphysical ways is just an interesting motif to bring back around here at the end now from where we all, where we've come from since the beginning, you know?
Yeah, I think he's going to die.
Jace?
Yeah, like Jace is dead.
I can see it.
I mean, if he saved, we first saw that figure when he saved his mom.
And that's what got Jace completely interested in magic to begin with.
And that's what put Jace on his development path to be, like, at least the Jace that we follow in this timeline.
That's what put him on the path to wanting to develop Hexteck and stuff.
Because of this figure that saved him, who we still don't have, I feel like it's just another version of Jace.
But then I'm like, but why would you put him on this path if the idea was to be like, don't do him?
Yeah, yeah.
Why would you give him that little Hex gem in the first place?
that little stone yeah it's a good question and I mean I feel like to I wonder it's the end of the
show so I mean you know thematically it seems like we're nearing the end but also I wonder if there
will be any sort of additional articulation from that figure in any way as to what yeah path he's
really trying to kind of yeah place jason because this is certainly enlightening but it does
beg the question yeah why would you set him on this trajectory if only to come
back and be like this is actually a really bad thing to do and i shouldn't be doing it but i am i mean
maybe we'll get the answer maybe we won't i mean we're like making predictions is we're gonna find
out the answer in just a little bit so we might as well just enjoy the ride but i think as an
episode itself i felt like there's a bit of a heartbreaking one for for reasons that are a bit
different because this is the alternate reality that they could have had if like they talk about
a lot of the themes have been about sacrifice lately and if you want a different future
got to leave some things behind and in this case the whole thing they left behind was vi by by being
dead leads instead of what happened before vander this oh no no because that was the the moment where
they go to uh that was the episode one moment where they go into the place where yeah i i know i remember
what it is it wasn't it wasn't the i was getting two two different death moments mixed up in my head
just right now not when i was actually watching the show but just right now um but yeah so that that
that moment of vye dying um leads to a path where you
you see this is who powder could have actually become and the relationship that he could have had.
And it kind of recontextualizes some of the hurt that Echo feels towards Jinks in his timeline, you know, more than just the devastation that Jinks has caused by being, by Silco's side.
And by the way, Silco just still comes across like a villain.
Especially with his mangled up face.
So you still give evil creepy vibes to me.
Yeah, I have a snakey disposition.
So what interesting.
But yeah, and seeing this alternate version that he has to give up for this whole thing about that line that he says of like you have to leave something's behind.
And then it ends with like he's leaving this behind to hopefully carve a different future on his timeline when he could just have this, which would be selfish to the echo that does exist here.
But he is leaving this behind.
Thank you to Huell for sponsoring today's video.
Now, guys, I'm going to give you all the God's honest truth of how this sponsorship came to be.
Sponsorship came to be.
We got contacted about basically partnering up with Huell.
Before we agreed to anything, the very first thing I said was I would like to try the product first.
I did a Instagram post on our Real Rejects one.
It was the first time you see me trying the Huell product.
Basically going like, hey, we might not partner with them.
This is not a paid Instagram post, but I just wanted to try it since a lot of you guys asked for, like, health recommendations now.
and the know kind of what I take only because of the fact that I'm vegetarian.
I have very limited protein options.
So I gave it a shot and ended up loving it.
Primarily the chocolate one.
Wow, this is really, this is a really great one.
One of the best things about it is that, yes, it's pre-packaged.
And a lot of times when it comes to, like, the prepackaged bottles,
I'm not a big fan of them normally, which he got me drinking on camera,
is one of these, which takes a very long time to put together and can often get messy.
It's just not aesthetically pleasing, but I'm trying to pack like a lot of vitamins.
and fiber protein. The best part about Hewell is a lot of what I try to pack into this one giant
shake is already available in this little bottle. Often taste better than what I can actually
assemble myself. It actually tastes great. It's got a high protein intake count as well.
And you know what? Brad new bottle. If you guys can see, it's filled to the top. This is how good
it tastes.
Now normally what you want to do is spread it out, but if you want it in one go, it is just as good.
It tastes really freaking good.
Thank you so much for response from this video.
The one thing they want me to say is this is you can get 15% off Hewled today with code
Rejects at Hewell.com slash Rejects.
Fuel your best performance with Hewell today.
They are great and I am already almost out of the many bottles they sent me.
If you guys do go check them out at Hewell.com slash Rejects, you'll see they got a whole bunch
more items available as well and if they taste anything as good as this i'm going to be a very
happy customer for a very very long time so join me on this health journey yeah and like this
this was a lovely episode for all those flavors i mean like this is a show that to me has been
you know full of different emotional uh you know strokes and and and it's very evocative throughout
but this was in a way the sort of most beautiful in that bittersweet kind of way because there's so
much about this that is just experiencing the sensory contrast of look how bright it is here look
how flourishing things are even in zon where things seem to be you know where we know how zon
is but even here in this version of a potential future it's like oh the gang's still here and
everyone's kind of working to make the place better and it doesn't seem like we've fallen on
as harsh of times as we have on the timeline that we came from sure and uh and yeah it's like
he gets to have i love the way they centered echo in that struggle of like
okay, I've got to orient myself in the differences of where I actually am and the whole mindbender of interdimensional travel.
But also, yeah, he gets to have some actual honest to goodness experiences where he does get to forget for a moment what is actually happening and just gets to live for a little bit, which is so hard to do on the main timeline at any point.
And so, yeah, like you really feel for that sense of relief and like the little flourishes of when they're dancing.
Like it has some really beautiful, you point out, it often feels like there is a camera present.
And this was one of the most beautiful episodes in terms of, yeah, like how film style and film making can just make you immersed in a feeling and caught up in what the characters are caught up in.
Absolutely.
Yeah. Well, gang, what did you think of season two, episode seven? Leave us your thoughts. We're chugging right along to episodes eight and nine. So keep an eye on the channel.
And we'll see you in hopefully pretty soon. Pieces.
If there's someone who could probably wield the power of the arcane,
it'd probably be Miche.
Miche.
Shatech.
Yeah.
That's right.
Well, I was thinking their name is an acronym for all kinds of arcane-related stuff.
Oh, sure.
Like M stands for magic.
Yes, right.
And I stands for...
I left you a lot of options here.
so take it away
I stands for
you got this funny I believe in you
there's a point of the political
variety for there is much
on this show very well done
I did but I could
what does he stand for
oh that's easy
Caitlin
yeah it's a good character
because Caitlin's a main character
definitely oh easy one next
H stands for
X tech oh god
that's the good one right there
That's a great one.
Ha!
That's what you get.
And E stands for...
Oh, God.
No, no.
What does E stand for?
Oh, I got one.
No.
Come on.
No, I will go there.
Come on.
You got it.
Is it related to Arcane?
Yeah, absolutely.
It's a character.
It's a character and arcane with an E?
Yeah, you're going to hate yourself when you get it.
