Starting point is 00:01:00 This video is brought to you by Look at I being hairy. Anyway, let's watch my batch. Yay! No addition, I mean, other than the... Azee something? Yeah, seen the credits. Look at the name, right? I keep forgetting the name.
Starting point is 00:01:15 AZ one, two? AZZ, AZ one, three? AZI3. Yeah. Easy? AZ. AZ? It's AZ.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Isy. I've been saying AZ. AZ. I Z. AZ. three okay yeah well yeah I thought this was another really solid episode I think that they've managed to find a way to make good drama when it's just scenes when it's two characters talking you know like they know the underlying tension this the the uh the subtext behind every
Starting point is 00:01:50 dialogue I think it's so strong and that's to personally to me I'm like I feel like I've been while we've been here watching this show sort of mature. And this is, the elements like that I find to be the most mature. And at three out of four episodes, I think I've been really four to five, four to five episodes. I think I've been really strong. And
Starting point is 00:02:10 I love this and there's so much, this whole episode was about like resolve and moving forward. And even like taking, you have to even take crosshair right back to this moment in time where choice was made, you know, and it's so much about being crosshairs at a crossroads constantly and now he has to make that path moving forward
Starting point is 00:02:29 and I think he's like good symbolism here I really like this episode a lot it's it's fun to watch a progression of characters the way that we have with a small intimate group that in so many ways I feel like represents the clone experience and I think that's like one of the neatest parts
Starting point is 00:02:49 about this whole Star Wars animated world you know that they've built out that a lot of us started watching this when we were kids and we have seen these characters grow up go through insane trauma and need to unravel and unpack that. And, you know, it always strikes me
Starting point is 00:03:10 like how many feelings you can feel in the animated format, especially for these characters that, like, when the Bad Batch was first introduced that, like, one of the big critiques was like, oh, there's such caricatures. You know, I mean, you got like Rambo and, you know, this big wrecking ball
Starting point is 00:03:27 of a character and Yeah, I felt like backdoor pilot, here we go. Yeah, no, but you know, it's every one of them has such a deep, interesting role to play. And, you know, I'm so curious about how this is
Starting point is 00:03:45 going to end. Because I can see it going in like two very different directions. One, I love this idea that the Bad Batch's arc as a group of characters, as a family, will close and will be unrelated to this cloned rebellion and this freeing on Tantis. And I think that might be saved for a side project, whether it be a limited series or an animated film or something. I think they're going to resolve it in this season. You think so? I think that's where all roads are leading to here.
Starting point is 00:04:22 then I think else will set something up but I feel like this is where it's leading to is them it seems like a clear if you think about like a season structure yeah it starts off on tantus or capture their prisoners now it's about liberation I'm just so curious if that's the if that's the right well I think it's also about them finding freedom too and so so much about I think I think it's them liberating the people at tantis is symbolic for our main core characters So structurally speaking to make sense. And even being accepted as like real brothers, you know. I think that was always kind of like the chip on the shoulder of the bad batch.
Starting point is 00:05:07 But having kind of now fully earned their keep and to recognize that they're all family. Yeah, it's a, I just love the tone. I love how dark it is. The music for this, it really kind of underscored how intense the rest of the season's been to have like some nice levity in that music. I mean, like, reminded me of Ray's theme, where there was like a little bit of like wonder and mysticism having Omega be free. Yeah. Well, I think the snow landscape too, this show has constantly been, I feel like really great at depicting. I put kind of
Starting point is 00:05:52 And the monster As much as we get these like Mega monsters Where they all kind of like Blur together after a certain point Because oh general A lot of them are the same I was gonna piss the people off
Starting point is 00:06:02 But it's like they either kind of look like a sword I like pit or they kind of look like this But I thought the usage of the game Of how to defeat it Was not just All right we gotta find a way to like blow it up You know Well it's funny it reminds me of rebels
Starting point is 00:06:15 A little bit Yeah when when they needed to set up the perimeter for the heck those things were called on the rebel base planet but yeah i mean it's it's nice i feel like they've borrowed that from like the games and from other shows and um you know but i i really maintain i could listen to these characters talk about their feelings and that's it and i'd still be so content with this show i feel like the clones of what they represent in Star Wars is a really interesting conversation if you like in a sort of philosophical sense you know you know I think Star Wars has this really unique thing with artificial intelligence
Starting point is 00:07:01 whereas like sometimes you just treat them like the robots and other times you treat the AI like they're they're a living being you know and and I think clones are somewhere in that middle line of that like you are this creation of life and you are meant you are created specifically to serve a purpose yet you are conscientious yet you have consciousness yeah yet you're sentient and we go oh you're a human living organism so it makes sense but i'm like but a certain point artificial intelligence is also that so i think there's this weird um middle ground with the clones that i find interesting of they they open up that door to to me of the purpose of life i think star wars also has done always a great job at uh echoing echoed
Starting point is 00:07:48 history and real things and I mean it's hard not to like you know that like seen in Obi-Wan where you see the clone trooper you know on the side of the street begging for money with his helmet it's hard not to like see a Vietnam vet you know or an Afghan or Iraq war vet and just remember that like we place so much like love and patriotism around these individuals and then the minute that they're no longer in uniform don't take care of We don't take care of them. And in worst cases, we do the opposite, where we deter them and we put them in awful conditions. You know, and I think I agree with your sentiment about, you know, the Empire definitely has like an AI replacement mentality of like, all right, whatever the new, shiniest, you know, whatever the new is, we're going to move on to that and we'll discard the old as though it's just equipment.
Starting point is 00:08:46 but the reality is that it is people that are left behind and um well i made it more in the sense of like how we treat you know like c3PO and r2d too sure we don't treat them as just robots that you can turn on and off even though like you you do sometimes in this world they are beings like we saw them get like obliterate you like no they died yeah you know but it's like but they're just a machine no but they're life well why are they life and it's the fun thing about i think the the juxtaposition with the clankers you know like you have or you have or I mean. Clankers?
Starting point is 00:09:17 Yeah. That's just the name of the droids that were part of the Confederacy of the independent systems. Okay. It's just like the battle droids. Clankers. It's okay, Greg. You're okay. I've always wanted to see.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Wait, are those the ones in like Phantam? Like the clinkers? Literally. All the jerse? Any and all of them? Anybody that fought on the side of the CIS and the clone ones? Oh, it's just a general name for them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Not a specific droid. That's like if you were to call like. I don't want to ask droids. If you were to like all like Germans jerrys like they did in World War II, like that was what the clones came up with. We're like, oh, that clink is. All right, Reject Nations. So today I want to share something with you that has been a wonderful addition to my
Starting point is 00:10:00 health and fitness journey that I discovered during the holidays. And that is liquid IV's hydration multiplier. I'm down to my very last packet and I'm freaking out. But it's okay. I got more in the mail. Now, a lot of you have been so kind to notice how I've been working on my physical health. Thank you for all the compliments. And one thing I learned is that proper.
Starting point is 00:10:16 hydration is absolutely crucial, especially post-workout and pre-filming after post-workout. And my wife actually introduced me to this product, which is perfect because we not only care about quality, but a good taste and quality product. Whether it's after a sweaty workout or just after, you know, a good night out, you know what I'm saying? Efficient hydration and replenishing electrolytes is key. You just feel better, and it tastes fantastic. I can't emphasize that enough.
Starting point is 00:10:40 And another thing that I'm always on the lookout for, too, is products that have zero-sugar or zero-sugar added because that's one of my main dietary restrictions. out the week. And they, of course, got products that fit that description that also taste good, too. So, yes, thank you so much. So, liquid IV's hydration multiplier is, in summary, as they are a non-GMO electrolyte drink that delivers hydration into your bloodstream faster and more efficient than water alone. Sometimes drinking a whole gallon is not always efficient, but in fact, it can provide the same hydration as drinking two to three bottles of water. I'm also big on efficiency. Plus, it's packed with a
Starting point is 00:11:08 love and essential vitamins. I mean, we know vitamins are good for the body. It's vegan, soy-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free. Starting point is 00:11:46 I'm generally more drawn to anything that goes against the norm, and Harry's does just that in the grooming world. They saw the high prices in the industry and decided to blaze their own trail with quality and affordability. I keep a beer, but whenever you see these cheeks in the neck clean, and that's the work of Harry's right there. Keeps my wife happy and Harris makes it effortless. Their precision blades, it cuts smoothly with less drag, making every shave satisfying. And yes, it's versatile for other areas too, you know what I mean? So as a Harry's devotee, I can vouch for their value. You can experience unparalleled comfort and quality in your grooming routine.
Starting point is 00:12:16 routine where exceptional craftsmanship meets affordability making a smart choice for a top-not shave without breaking the bank their kits and value packs for shaving are unbeatable but harries is not just about shaving again they offer top quality thoughtfully designed grooming products including shampoo conditioner and amazing body wash without the premium price quality affordability that's a thesis of this now these i actually pulled right from my own bathroom i regularly use their five blade razor with a nice weighted handle and their foaming shave gel man this deball It is a game changer. I just like the feel of it.
Starting point is 00:12:48 Now I have to commit to keeping this in my hand the whole time, because I'm not going to go to the bathroom in the middle of shooting this. The handles, they feel perfectly balanced. And the razor's sleek design is a classy addition to my bathroom. And the quality of the shave, unparalleled. Gotta reiterate, keep part of my weekly grooming ritual because their entire range of products fits seamlessly into my routine. Stephanie no reshoot's here.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Their German engineer blades are durable, and refill plans are economical. Rarely use the word economical, but I'm using it now. Plus, their commitment to high-coct. customer satisfaction. And no risk trial makes Harry's a no-brainer. This jail really does feel good. Let me say once more. Starting point is 00:13:34 Stay sharp and embrace the extraordinary with Harry's. Until next time, Reject Nation. Till next time. But this idea of all throughout the Clone Wars, they kind of echoed sentiment, did it again, of these are robots, you know, these droids have no feelings, they have no heart, we are living, breathing soldiers, I think only to come to this reality that to the Republican later empire that they served, they really were no different. They were just a utilitarian tool, you know, that was used as a means to an end. And ultimately, you know, not to get overly, like, philosophical, but part of me thinks that the reason that clones grow at such rapid pace
Starting point is 00:14:24 goes beyond just needing to raise an army really quickly. I think it also means disposing of an army very quickly. Yeah. And not allowing them to be around long enough to ever really make a profound impact and to not need to worry about covering the cost of, like, their medicine and their health care and housing and food and all of that and yeah um it's it makes me sad it makes me sad i know they're just you know imaginary characters but um they deserved better you know i mean and like you think about rebels well you feel that
Starting point is 00:15:10 because it plays on something real yeah well it And that's exactly it. You know, I mean, I know enough vets and, you know, go to a VA hospital and it's enough to make you lose all faith in humanity. You know, but we forget. We move on. And I think that's an interesting theme about Star Wars and perhaps an unintentional theme, you know, because there's only so much that you can, as much as Lucas knew about the Clone Wars, it was really just a throwaway line. but you know all throughout the original trilogy there's no mention or seeing like the only thing that's that's left behind is like a little bit of the armor and that's it yeah um you know and
Starting point is 00:15:54 i think what's really devastating is by the time that we get to rebels uh as far as we know there's only four clones out there um star wars though you know there's always more Jedi out there there's always more clones out there. I'm sure there are more, but it's hard to imagine that Rex wouldn't have continued to operate with all of them. You know, he really just had three of them left there at the end.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Yeah. And, yeah, well, now I'm sad. I'm sorry. Good. He's sorry. Overall, though, I think the episode, again, great character-driven narrative. and emotionally provoking in the right sequences.
Starting point is 00:16:39 And resolve comes in the way how they would resolve. And it shows it doesn't take action to make great animation. No, I think that's just a continuing theme of the quality of writing and world building and most essentially characters. But Reject Nation, what did you think? What were your thoughts? Do you think that we will see the Clone Rebellion unfold in the Bad Batch? or will it have a series of its own?
Starting point is 00:17:08 And don't forget to use the force to leave a like and subscribe and hit that magic little ding-dong bell so that Greg can get fed. Is that how that works? Yeah, and pretend someone subscribes. A little piece of kibble from now. I got one. Honestly, that's a great idea.
Starting point is 00:17:27 It's like a hunger strike, but for subscribers. Sad. oh god all right well we'll see you guys next week for a three parter two two parter
Starting point is 00:17:43 which presumably means something's going to happen yeah god I hope it involves Sid die nah no no that's all I want out of that I think that wrote her out but they know I don't think so because she was in the trailer
Starting point is 00:17:58 ah shit it's probably Assage Ventures Asage Ventress I forgot about that They got to make a moment out of that. Yeah. Oh, I have so many things to say about Assange Ventures. Well, tune to next week to find out.
