Do you have anything to say before we start watching this bad boy?
I am super excited.
I heard this is amazing.
I really like the first two, but I've heard this one is amazing.
I've also heard the fourth one is amazing.
It's different directors.
It's not Michael Bay.
It's the directors who were supposed to do that that canceled Batgirl film.
Oh.
And that got axed by Warner Brothers after they filmed the whole damn thing.
Interesting.
Yeah, so I'm looking forward to this.
But I know it's kind of funny.
This one's called Bad Boys For Life.
Yeah.
What they should have probably the fourth one.
Right, right.
Maybe Bad Boys Ride or Die, which is the fourth film.
Maybe should have been called this one.
but I don't think they were looking ahead.
Anyways, can't wait.
He's got notes.
Let's do this.
Noots.
By the way, if you guys want to look as cool as us,

but just type that in Google. It'll send you there.
Man, oh man, I loved this movie. Me too.
All right, give us your thoughts, Andrew.
First of all, everyone always says when we talk about sequels, how does it rank with the other
ones? First and foremost, well, yeah, I'm in agreement with you. I loved it more.
I loved it the most of all three. And I still love one and two. I want to just preface it
with that. But this one was my favorite because we had the most compelling villain. That's number
one. And she scared the shit out of me. That's also number two. It's the twist we got too. I was just
not expecting that. But it also, it was a twist that serviced the storyline as well. It wasn't
just a twist to be a twist. No. So that was great. Took us all the way to the end. Yeah. And also
too, like we knew there's a bad boy's four. But when we're watching it in the moments like,
holy shit, he got shot. We thought he could be dead. Yeah, exactly. Like I actually felt like there
were stakes in this and that they could die at any which one. And then obviously, you know,
we lost Captain Howard, which really was a gut punch. And even though I didn't want that to happen,
that's again, that's a good emotional investment for the audience because we didn't want that
to happen. We love this character so much. But also, too, in terms of servicing the storyline,
it was a way to get Marcus to come back after retirement. And we can understand why he'd want to be
retirement. He just had a grandchild. And he's been doing this for a long time. So it's understandable to
retire and his wife is from the first movie not wanted him to be a cop in in general she
hates him being a cop but yeah um having said that the chemistry once again is there between
uh mike and marcus fantastic i love ammo so much great addition to the new team the action is
there the stunts are there the cinematography again is there i got so much more i want to add
i don't want to take away your thunder so i want to hear some of your thoughts on this incredible
film. Press home on the TV so it doesn't play
Rick and Morty next. No, let's watch
Rick and Morty. You guys, I love this
the most. I think it's mostly because
it had way more
heart than any of the other movies.
They got emotional, well-written
scenes that had zero action
in it five times
in this movie where they just
settled and had a conversation
about real life and we actually
got to see everyone in here
like their real acting chops,
especially because most of it is a lot of
comedy and zooming around and a lot of action.
This movie went, no, we're going to bring the heart.
We're going to bring the emotions to the scene.
Because in the chaos, when we get that action, it means so much more.
And it meant so much more to us when that flip happens to realize he has a son.
And how adorable is it when he's like, I'm your, I'm your uncle.
Like, I, that's just, it's just so sweet that we get to see that.
And we didn't, we didn't even, like, fully get into his love story with, um, what is there?
What's her name?
With Rita.
But we got the juice there.
We got the chemistry, which I liked.
We gave a quick one-liner and like, oh, when you broke up with my sister, I was mad at you.
So then we realized where she went.
Maybe she just, we'll have to look that up in the trivia.
But I really love this movie the most.
And again, the action sequences did not let me down.
The stunts, I said it when we were watching it.
But in the last one, they said that they set up cameras.
that they knew were probably going to be destroyed
to see if we could get shots that we never got before.
I saw two more of those shots
with like a bike rolling into a camera
and another explosion,
which I thought, great.
Great way to still use that
because we still got that like, boom,
cool stunts, cool stuff that we were seeing
that we hadn't seen before.
And that's what we come to these types of movies for.
So the Bruckheimer is still in that juice and I love it.
And I agree.
There was one stunt too.
I don't know if it was just sped up,
but where a car fell on a,
on one of the stunt guys, that was impressive too.
It was great.
But I agree with you, too.
There was...
I don't look up the IMDB while you're talking.
Yeah, there was a lot of heart in this film.
Like, after Mike got shot and you see Marcus
pouring his heart out in the way the captain did again,
we know again, the captain cared so much about Mike and Marcus
in the first two films, but it was like more apparent,
even in this film as well and more drawn out.
And I really appreciated that.
And I thought the first two films did balance that out,
but there was more emotion in this film.
You know, like you said, more heart.
on top of the incredible action that we did get.
And I love those moments that we did get.
Because like you said, when we get to those action sequences,
you just give more of a shit, you know, when we get there.
It's more of a payoff.
But again, I'm just so impressed with the villain that we get.
Like, we got Johnny Tapia in the second film.
He was okay.
Nothing special.
Right.
You didn't like him as much for the villain.
Yeah, I didn't care about it.
Again, the actor was fine.
His performance was fine.
And I just, from a writer standpoint, I just, I just didn't care about the character very much.
It's just, okay, he's a very generic bad guy.
Yeah.
You know, wants to own a big part of the drug cartel or whatever and wants to have money laundered.
Cool.
And then the first, I love the actor in the first one.
But again, nothing too crazy.
And again, I loved his rage and how scary and menacing he could be.
But in this one, I love how personal and how it all tied back to Mike with that twist.
I'm like, this is solid-ass writing.
And again, I love how they set it up at the beginning.
This whole with the judge, the DA and the DEA and all that,
and they didn't show us again.
Very smart that they didn't show us, Captain Howard.
Because that would have ruined that whole, you know,
what happened with the death of him,
which would have gotten us ready for that sad send-off.
But again, they just made it seem like, okay, all these gentlemen sent her to jail.
And that's compelling enough, like for revenge.
okay, I totally get her motivation.
She wants Mike Lowry and all these other guys.
But then again, to hit you with that twist,
the way it was, I was like,
what the shit?
Yeah, and again, if any of you saw that coming,
hats off because that was nowhere on my radar.
And I know a lot of times I'm usually wrong anyways
in the way I think with my predictions anyways,
but I really, that was just nowhere on.
That was wild.
Yeah, but again, it's like I don't mind subversion of expectations
if it services the storyline.
And I thought this was for a dramatic punch.
Yeah.
Holy shit.
Because now it's not, I'm just hunting down bad guys.
Like, this is my son.
That's like, it's the Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, if you will.
You know what I mean?
It's like, holy shit.
Like, this changes everything.
And I mean, damn.
It's almost like doing that, throwed him in the same pathway as Martin Lawrence because he's saying,
I can't go after violence, can't murder.
And when Will Smith finds out that is, that.
that's his son. Martin Lawrence is like, you can't kill your own son, bro. Like, come on, man. Like,
you got to kind of come to his area, even though he started being like, listen, this gun is
from God. We have to defend ourselves. Yeah. I get it. But he had to come up with a real choice
there when he's faced with his son of like, listen. And when he puts himself in the path of violence
and lets his son kind of like beat him up, it's a way of like, listen, I don't really want to
fight you back right now. Right. And I really like that.
Again, emotional stakes.
And there's a good message in there, too, about, like, who raises you and, like, how that's going to, you know, the tutelage you get throughout life, like, where that's going to, like, lead you later on in life.
Like, and because he was led by a very evil, wicked woman.
Right.
Now he's a very evil man himself.
And if he would have been raised by Mike, you know, he would obviously would have ended up a lot better.
But we're going to get to see that now, because Mike's visiting him in, you know, prison.
Yeah, yeah.
And I love the setup for the fourth movie with him in, uh, possible.
working with ammo. I'd love to see that. But again, very emotionally dramatic moment too when
he does learn about that. Because I thought maybe for a second that because he's so cold-hearted
throughout the film and just evil in a sense and threatening and menacing, I didn't think
that was going to mean as much to him. And also too, because this guy's not, he doesn't have
an emotional attachment to Mike, you know what I mean? But then actually finding out his mom
has lied to him this whole time. Like, that is, like he is human at the end of the day. Yeah.
No, so it makes sense that he would, even though I kind of predict that he didn't.
So I like that they chose to go that route.
Like, holy shit.
No, it's not just that this is my father, even though I don't know this man.
It's the fact that you lied to me this whole time.
And you ordered me to kill this man, too, that I didn't even know was my father.
I'm like, again, I love these twists, like such great choices.
It's great.
Also, too, one thing I do want to mention here, too, I love the mature development I talked about with Marcus.
In the first two films, I think you can agree with me and most of you in the audience.
He couldn't wait.
Like, he did love Will Smith, or he loves Mike, Mike's his brother.
But he, there were so many times in the first two moments, dude, we'll work together, but leave me alone.
I just want to be left alone.
And, like, when Mike got shot, it really affected him emotionally.
And I love when, yeah, and I love that, like, the development of his character, again, the, the, the, um, when he was just, like, taking care of him, like, like, dying his, his, his, his beard and all that.
Like, that was just, that was so beautiful.
And I love, like, I love those adorable little moments.
between them and also too like that line you mentioned earlier where he says like to i think
his name's armanda the son a will smith's son where he says like i'm your uncle marcus like
it doesn't matter what kind of shit you've done like we're still family and i love i love that
um so some this is i just i was i was i again i'd heard this was a great film i just wasn't
expecting to be this great yeah and this makes me like watching this movie too terran makes
me so damn sad again it could have been a shitty movie for all
I know.
It makes me so sad.
Oh, no, I'm Batgirl.
Oh, yeah.
Because the directors of this did Backgirl.
It filmed it with Michael Keaton, with all the other actors that they had.
Brandon Fraser was the...
Why did that have to not be released?
You guys let...
I forgot what the reasoning.
Let us know.
They said it was not going to be financing.
I forgot with the reasoning.
Financially.

I've got some IMDB here for you guys.
I got some trivia.
Oh, you've got the trivia.
Now, I do.
So this is great.
According to Martin Lawrence, Will Smith, he had to rewatch Bad Boys
one and two multiple times every day
in order to get their characters back on track
and it's been so long
since the sequel, which I love, I think
that's great. Is that both of them had to rewatch?
According to Martin Lawrence, Will Smith
had to rewatch. Oh, Will Smith had
too. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Now, here's a fun one with the directors.
Directors, um, Fala
and Arby made their Hollywood debut
with this movie on the
strength of their Belgian films,
Black from 2015 and Gangster
from 2018. I want to watch this. They stayed
in interviews, this came with some pressure
since the agents had made it clear to them
that if the movie wasn't successful,
it most likely be the end of their
Hollywood career. No pressure. However,
they loved making the film, cherish the opportunity
to work with Smith and Martin Lawrence.
And they did a great freaking job.
I'm surprised, too, again, the Warner Brothers
could watch this movie. I mean, I get it.
They got them their job with Batgirl.
Right. And then just said,
nah, we're good. Right?
And it's funny because in 2018, Martin Lawrence tweeted a picture of himself and Will Smith on the set of Bad Boys 3 with the caption Bad Boys for Life confirming that after all the delays, they were on track, filming it and everybody freaked out.
Okay, so let me read some spoilers.
It says, in the gap between Bad Boys 2 and this film, Captain Howard became a husband and a father.
He is shown here wearing a wedding ring and is seen cheering on his young daughter during the team.
basketball team, which we did see.
So sad.
In Bad Boys 2, when Marcus and Mike first meet 15-year-old Reggie, they suspect him of looking
like 30.
When Reggie appears in this film, he is now in his early 30s.
That's great.
Which is great.
Now, let's see.
This is the first in the series where a character who appeared in the previous film dies,
namely Captain Conrad Howard who appeared in both Bad Boys.
which we did not like seeing.
Okay, this is an interesting one.
Teresa Randall's final appearance as Teresa Burnett in this movie.
She's not going to be in the fourth one?
Before she had finished her acting career.
So she retired.
That is wild.
Oh, I'm curious if they're going to say anything in the fourth movie?
Yeah, that's weird.
And lastly, I'll read one last one.
Kate Del Castio's character again violently escaped some Mexican women's prison
as she did in inaugural 2017, which I haven't seen.
I have not seen that.
Oh, my God, one more, a cameo.
Jasmine Lawrence, which is Martin Lawrence's daughter,
is one of the two girls that don't let Mike into the club.
Oh, those two.
They were both really beautiful, too.
The bouncers at the club, right?
Or I guess they're not bouncers.
They're just the...
They check them in.
Check them in, yeah, sorry.
What am I saying bouncers?
love that. I love that Will Smith had to do research by rewatching the movies because it had been
so long. Yeah, yeah. I love that people were waiting on them of like, are we going to get another
sequel? Are we going to get it? And then in 2018, luckily, they probably were like, let's just
drop a pick. We already, I agree with you. We already called it during the reaction, but I'm surprised
on that cameo sheet that it just sent to you, which I'm glad they mentioned Martin Lawrence's
daughter. I'm surprised it didn't put Michael Bay in there. Michael Bay. But again, we called. It's probably
because it's way too obvious. Probably. You're probably right. But I'm glad.
we at least Biden again, I think that was so cool
of him to go, hey, I know I'm not involved
in this movie, and I'm sure Jerry Brockheimer
or even the director probably called him. Or even
Will Smith probably like, dude, come on.
Brockheimer's probably best, but he's like, come on, bro.
You're still part of this. Like, come on.
And I really like that they gave these
directors by not have
directing too much
stuff prior, that they gave him a chance
to do this. And how terrifying
is it that the agents go,
listen, we know you shot stuff over
there. But if you come here and this is
and you ruin a really great franchise,
it will be the end of your Hollywood career
to operate under that amount of pressure.
And I don't know if the two films that they put in here,
I haven't seen them,
I don't know if they have a lot of action in them.
I assume that they do.
If they don't,
they put a lot of faith in these directors
to get the job done and do it well.
And they really did.
And I'm really glad that they stole some ideas
from the second film,
especially with those stunts
and leaving a camera, seeing that stunt happen,
probably getting the camera knocked out.
You need all of it.
And as they said, they used a ton of cameras
for the stunts and the second one.
I think they used that for this one.
It's a smart move.
And there was still some very originality
in the way that it's filmed and with the stunts.
So I don't think that they were copying a lot,
but the stuff that they did take from what had been directed before
was smart to take it because we wanted to see
a lot of the same stuff.
but I like their twist on it.
Yeah, and last two things really quick,
I want to say,
I love the composer in this film, too.
Lauren Balf, I think his name was.
He does the most recent Mission Impossible films.
We had Trevor Rabin in Raven, however you say it,
in Bad Boys 2, which I loved his score too,
but I really dug the score too.
The emotional beats really elevated,
and especially because this film was extremely emotional
in comparison to the first two films,
there were definitely emotional beats in there,
but I think this film just got to another level.
Agreed.
And to your point what you just said with the pressure that these guys were under to have that kind of pressure.
And then in my subjective opinion and also your subjective opinion to make the best thus far,
because we haven't seen the fourth one yet, to have made the best of the three.
Like, good for them.
I'm so happy.
Seriously, I'm so happy for them.
I mean, even if they would have just made a good one and not the best one, still great job.
What they did was at heart to this movie.
Exactly.
And that is always what we are striving for, what we like to see, even if it's an.
action adventure. I still want to see heart in it because that's what that's what when it brings it
all together. It's that's what makes a great film. I kind of didn't mention too that Mike had a little
bit of an arc as well where like he can't accept that Marcus is going to retire and have a family and
just being with his family and then by the end he's like, hey, I've accepted it. I love you. I will
support you no matter what you do. And I love that change in his character. And then also too in reverse like
Marcus has a little bit of an arc too like hey bad boys for life. Like we're going to I'm going to do this with
forever so I love the arcs that and they collide with each other their arcs so yeah it's great I
love this movie so much we love this movie 10 out of 10 oh my god make sure that you guys like this
leave a comment um answer our questions that we asked you I don't know tell us all your juice
make sure that you share this video spread hugs love and laughter you guys know how to roll make sure
you get your sweaters we would love it if you would send us pictures of you guys in your
sweater please we love you guys so much and we will see you on the next one
Thank you.
